Converting form to PDF

When I convert a form from a website to PDF using Adobe Acrobat X Standard, the resulting document can be edited when I would like it not to be. How can I lockdown my document?

Problem in converting smart form into PDF

HI Experts,
                  I am using a Function Module CONVERT_OTF for converting smart form into pdf file for send it to with attachment.
But i got a error when i am using that FM.
Runtime Errors         CONVT_NO_NUMBER
unable to interpret *292 as a no.
Is that because my file size too large about 13 pages of PDF?
and when i run it for other smart forms which have 2 or 3 pages of PDF, its working perfectly.
can anyone tell what is problem with that FM?

Hi,
I had the similar issue and after analysis I have that this is the issue by not passing the IMPORTING parameter of the Function Module "BIN_FILESIZE". Please try to pass some variable to this paramter and then this will be completely rectified.

I've checked your account, and see no issues with your subscription. So, if you're using a web browser, please log out, clear the browser cache, and then log back in to https://cloud.acrobat.com. And, if you're using Reader, make sure that you're logged in—you should see your name listed in the upper-right corner. If not, click the Sign In link and then sign in with your user name and password.

All you have to do is call your SF to get OTF and then concert it to PDF. Works like charm:

Not with Microsoft tools. This would be something supplied by a 3rd party, if available at all.

Export/Convert Browser Based Infopath 2010 forms to PDF/Excel/Word

Is there an OOB, way of converting browser based Infopath 2010 forms to PDF/Word/Excel.
In case there isnt, can anyone please point me to a coded or a programmatic way of implementing the same.

Hi Soptik,
As far as I know, we can only save an InfoPath form as PDF/Excel using InfoPath Windows form application(rather than Broswer-based InfoPath).
In this case, we can
Open the library that save the forms
Selec the form that is wanted to be PDF/Excel(Just select it, don't open it)
Click the "inverse trangle", and then click "Edit in Microsoft InfoPath"
In InfoPath, click "File" > "Save & Send" to save the form as PDF/Excel

Converting HTML Forms to PDF - Field Names

When I use Adobe 8 to convert and HTML form to PDF all the field names in the resulting PDF have the crazy long names that are jumble of letters and numbers. So I always have to go back through and manually rename every field because I'm using another program to autopopulate the fields with data. Is there any way to get Acrobat to automatically name the fields in the PDF the same as they are named in the form either using the "name" or "id" properties of the HTML fields? I don't understand why this isn't the default behaviour to begin with.

The reason this is done is due to a fundamental difference between HTML forms and Acrobat forms. In HTML forms, fields with the same name do not necessarily share the same value, whereas in Acrobat forms they do.
In the conversion process, Acrobat gives each field a unique name, but also sets a field's mapping name to the name the field had in the original HTML form. This is so that if the PDF form is used to submit as "HTML", then the original field names will be used and any server process that is capable of dealing with the HTML form is capable of dealing with the resulting PDF form. So be aware that if you want to use your modified form to submit to a web server using the "HTML" format, the new field names that you set will not be used. What will be used are the hidden mapping names.
Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything you can do about any of this to make it work like you want.

Convert Coldfusion Flash form to PDF?

Is it possible to convert a Coldfusion flash based form to a PDF form? I've tried it using Coldfusion 8 and Adobe Professional 8, but all I end up with is a blank PDF. It works just fine for a basic HTML based form. Is there some technical reason this doesn't work?... Because it seems rather stupid that ADOBE Coldfusion and ADOBE Acrobat don't work together properly.

It's an internal form, so i don't have any link. But the form is constructed using the standard flash form tags... example: <cfform name="form" action="exampleform.cfm" format="Flash"> <cfformitem> <cfformgroup> <cfinput> <cfselect> The entire form is mostly just a mix of those tags. Pretty standard stuff, but Adobe 8 Professional simply won't convert the form to PDF. Or, actually, it does but the form is blank. I'm usually just left with the graphic from the top of the page which likes outside the <cfform> tags.

Adobe also has Acrobat.com and there is DropBox.com. Adobe has also announced Adobe Document Cloud.
Forms central provide a subscription service for users with Reader to create simple forms. Apparently this did not meet a majority of users and with the minimal price difference for Acrobat and free web storage the users were better served without it. I expect cloud services will continue to emerge until providers better and more fully understand the user requirements.

Convert filled out InfoPath form to PDF

Hi all
I have this basic setup:
An InfoPath formular is deployed to Forms Server, and a user fills it out. When the user submits the form, I need to somehow convert the form to PDF and attach it to an email sent to the user.
Now, this should be done in .NET code. I am still not quite sure if I will do it as an event handler on the Forms Server og if I will let the document go through BizTalk and let it to the conversion... but in any case, what I have is an .XML file that is actually the filled out form and I need to convert it to PDF that matches how the form looks like, naturally.
I have seen this thread:

I have installed this one:

Then I created a Winforms program (it wont always be in a winforms program, but for testing purposes...) and I did this:
1. Add the InfoPath Form control to the toolbox (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.FormControl.dll)
2. Drag the Control which now appears in my tool box to my winform.
Then I added this code to some event of the form:

Now, the issue is, that the "Export" method and the "ExportFormat" enum are not recognized and therefore give compile errors.
The only difference between my using statements and the ones in the thread above is that I do not have this one:
using Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.FormControl;
since that name space does not seem to exist - I only have the Microsoft.Office.InfoPath name space. Yes, the Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.FormControl.dll is referenced in my project.
Any thoughts?

The file version of Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.dll is 12.0.4518.1014, assembly version is 12.0.0.0.
Could you also check that assembly on your side?
Can you see the following memebers from your project's object browser?
They should live in Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.dll.

Hello Everyone I use pages #Iwork #Mac so basically I have a pdf document with contains equations which I have to transcribe to a word document. There’s a easy and free way, just go to docs.google.com, click the upload button to upload your pdf file. Remember to check the option "Convert text from PDF or image files to Google Docs documents " before you click the “start upload” button. After the upload is done you can find the converted file on your Google Docs, now copy the texts to an empty word file, done! With this method you can also convert pdf to ppt if you copy the converted tsts to your empty ppt file. Or you can simply use a PDF to word converter, Adobe has a professional software that can do that but I can't think of the name right now.
