Converting from iTunes 7 to Creative Mediasource

I have an iPod and my husband just bought a Creative Zen Micro. I need to import songs from iTunes to Creative Mediasource, but Mediasource doesn't recognize iTunes format. I have read on other forums that I need to change the ID3 tags...HOWEVER, iTunes is not giving me that option. I see it there under Advanced but "Convert ID3 tags" is not available to select. Why not? How else can I convert these songs?

can you please point me to how you did this? I went through the uninstall of iTunes 7.0.2 and reinstalled iTunes 6 but then there was no Library.
Is there a complete instruction sheet on how exactly to get back to iTunes 6? thanx.

  • CONVERT from iTunes to other FORMATS (AAC, AIFF, MP3, WAV)

Came across a problem in trying to get music purchased from iTunes to be recognized by other media players (Quicktime or Final Cut Express). I found how to get iTunes to export to cd/dvd disks in AIFF format (and other formats).
    Steps used:
    From iTunes:
Create a new playlist folder in iTunes (under file)
Drop the songs you wished to use into the playlist folder
Go to the iTunes main menu,
    select 'Preferences'
    select 'Advanced'
    select 'Import'
using "Import Using" select the format (AAC, AIFF, MP3, WAV) you desire
Input your CD/DVD disk to burn
highlight your Playlist file in iTunes that you want to convert
    select 'File' in iTunes,
    select "Burn Playlist to disc"
What you end up with is a CD/DVD with the music files in the format you selected -(I needed AIFF) from there you can use the disk or copy your converted files back into Final Cut or other software for use.
Hope this helps others having similar issues

Have you tried other formats, besides AIFF?
You can only burn purchased music to an
    b Audio CD
and the Finder will tell you the files are AIFF. Actually the files on an Audio CD are PCM, but Mac OS 'sees' them as AIFF.
You can't convert purchased music in other formats, because it's protected.

  • Converting from iTune's format to MP3

How do I take the tunes that are in my iTunes library and put them on a Cd/DVD so that I can play them in a regular car stereo?
A friend of mine said that iTunes are not really in a MP3 format, and that is the reason the car does not see them.
Anyone know how to do this? Do I need special software or hardware?
    Thanks
    Doug

To burn songs on an Audio CD (regular CD as you name it), the format of the songs is unimportant.
Wether they are MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV or Apple Lossless, it doesn't matter.
They are converted 'on the fly' into the proper Audio CD format (PCM).
To burn them on MP3 CD, the songs have to be converted to MP3, if they are not already mp3s.
This article tells you how to convert songs:
iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format.
    Hope this helps.

  • Playing music from itunes store on creative produ

    hi all,
my 2nd ipod has just broken, no surprises there, so i think my relationship with apple is well and truly over. i have bought some music from the itunes store which is in "protected AAC" format, with file type ".m4p". does anyone know if this music is able to be played on other players, or another monopoly situation snapped up by apple?
    thanks

You'll have to search the web for info on converting .m4p files to either wma or mp3 format as the Mods won't stand for any discussion on breaking DRM.
You could always burn your songs to CD and the re-rip them to one of the above formats. After all, you have paid for them (or the right to listen to them)!

  • Putting music and video files that I purchased from iTunes onto the creative z

For my birthday i got a itunes gift card and i bought music and video files with it but when i import it i cant find the music files in the folders they should be and the video need a directshow codec on the zen vision m so how do i put the codec on it and find all the purchased files?I need these files on my zen!

Find that sadistic friend of yours who bought you the gift card and beat him into submission with a dead trout.
Seriously, due to iTunes' file being locked with DRM and being in a format that is incompatible with the Zen, the only thing you could do is look for underground/illegal methods to remove the DRM and convert the file into unprotected MP3. Due to the illegality of the issue, I cannot provide instructions (that, and the fact that iTunes won't let me buy music from them because Malaysian money isn't good enough for them, therefore I haven't actually tried). But I can say that What-U-Hear is a pretty innovati've solution . Apart from that, Google is your friend.Message Edited by RAMChYLD on 09-02-2007:59 PM

  • CONVERTING FROM ITUNES MP4 TO MP3, WMA E.T.C.  ....How do you do it?

How do i convert my MP4's to MP3, WMA e.t.c. with itunes, so i can play the music i purchase, on my Archos, or other MP3 player.
ps sorry for the capital letters,

No, with protected files the only thing you can do is use iTunes and iPods. Burning them to CDs doesn't erase the copy protection. Nor can you transfer them to SD cards and get them to play on a phone or anything. Protected files are just that, totally locked. There are programs out there that advertise being able to break that protection, but so far none of the ones I tried did anything except corrupt the file so that even iTunes wouldn't play it.

  • Cannot convert from itunes 10 to itunes 10.1

Hello i am trying to get the new software (ios4.2) for iphone4 but am unable to upgrade my itunes to 10.1. I try installing the 10.1 but it says "There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run." What is the easiest way to rectify this problem? I remember trying to get itunes 10 to work properly, what a huge pain, now this! Please help?

"There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run."
That can indicate trouble with your Apple Software Update, Sir. So first we'd better check to see if that is functioning properly.
Go "Start > All programs > Apple Software Update". Does ASU launch, or do you get an error message? If you get an error message, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

    Hey Dan,
This article should walk you through the process. It will be easiest with another iPod like an iPod classic or video but the article provides other options also.

  • Album details ripped using iTunes cannot be read in Creative MediaSource. Any f

    Hi.
Most of my CD collection was ripped using iTunes. All album details are viewable when using iTunes, Windows Media Player, Real Player & Nero Player.
Creative MediaSource doesn't see the album details and, of course, won't pass them on to my Zen NX.
Any tracks ripped using Creative MediaSource show full track listing etc on my Zen NX
Is there a way to make Creative Source read or import the album & track information?
I have tried using WMP and Real Player to upload to my Zen NX but (on 2 PCs) it just hangs.
All programmes are upto date - as is NX firmware.
    Appreciate any help.
    Wint.

Be very careful. There's a bug in at least some versions of MediaSource which will strip tag data from files encoded in iTunes, due to the way it formats the track number field.
It might also be a problem with the ID3 tag version that iTunes uses being incompatible with MediaSource.
The first thing to do is go to http://www.nomadworld.com/downloads/drivers and get the latest version of MediaSource.
Also take a look in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net for alternati'ves to MediaSoure and also some tagging programs.

  • Can TV show episodes downloaded from iTunes be converted?

Can TV show episodes downloaded from iTunes be converted for my non-ipod mp3 player? It's made by Creative Zen and does have a video converter to get files into the right format, but is there something about iTunes TV episodes and their encoding that would prevent this?

In answer to the 2nd part of your question, yes, the files are protected which make them only compatible with iPods, iPhones, etc.

I upgraded from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 6.  Everything converted fine.  Yesterday I deleted an app in error.  When I downloaded the software it from iTunes ( did this many times on the old 3GS), my account is no longer recognized by the app's host servers (Playtika), even though it did after the initial conversion.  Can I go back and re-sync just one app from my old phone?

Try deleting what is called the iPod Photo Cache.

  • I have just download a book from itunes store but, i don't have an iPad to read it. Can anybody help me? Can i convert it? Thanks.

i have just download a book from itunes store but, since i don't have an iPad, i can´t read it or even see it. Can anybody help me? Can i convert it? Thanks.

Every purchase page for an ebook has a section that says "Requirements".  What does that say for your particular book?  That should give you the answer to your question.  Conversion is normally not possible.
But there are some exceptions.  Please provide the Title of the book if you want further help.

  • Convert Problem using Creative MediaSource of Audig

I have been following the instructions for coverting old tapes to mp3 files, but I have not had quite the success I wanted. Here's my problem: Everything records fine except instead of just the "Line In " transfer, I also get what the recorder picks up, such as my talking. Moreover, there is no "line in" only recording source as indicated in the instructions. You get choices, such as "what U hear," "microphone," "mp3/wav," and "analog mix" (line in, CD, etc). I have tried all these. No matter what I try to do, I still hear the outside sounds in my recording. I even took out the microphone from the jack, and I made sure I had the tape player connected to the "line-in" jack (not the microphone jack). Does anyone have suggestions?
    emprof

I think I figured out the problem. I also have a Logitech camera attached to of my computer's usb2 ports. My guess is that it was the culprit responsible for recording the other sounds. I disconnected the camera. Now Creative MediaSource seems to be working when I use the analog mix option.

  • Transferring tracks from Nomad Jukebox 2 to MUVO with Creative MediaSource Player/Organi

I recently installed Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer . When I transfer tracks from Nomad Jukebox 2 to my MUVO the tracks are transferrred as folders, not tracks (which the MUVO cannot play). How do I get the Nomad Explorer to transfer the MP3s as tracks and not folders? I'd appreciate your help.
P.S. I do not have this problem when I use Creative Playcenter to do a similar tranfer.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Perhaps there's some confusion with the MuVo Explorer, or plain Windows Explorer.
