Converting from printlayout to pdf file

i converted the printlayout to pdf but in that pdf it didnt shows the images (but logo was existing in the layout)
i need the solution as soon as possible

Dear Kavitha,
There could be the following causes for this.
1. The Picture Folder path may be incorrect or was deleted. You can
check if the path is valid by performing the following steps:
     a) In the Print Template choose the "Field Index" window.
     b) Double click on the row that contains the company logo (e.g. 154
        Picture- company logo name). This will open an "Object
        Properties" window.
     c) Click on "Browse" to check if the path is valid. Continue with
the steps below if it is, if not go to step 2.
     d) Choose "Administration"
     e) Choose "System Initialization"
     f) Choose "General Settings"
     g) Select "Path" tab. There should be a path to a bitmap folder
within the "Picture Folder". If there is not then create   a path to
the relevant bitmap folder.
2. The image(company logo) was set to invisible under "Object
     Properties". To remedy this situation perform the following steps:
     a) In the Print Template choose the "Field Index" window.
     b) Double click on the row that contains the company logo (e.g. 154
Picture company logo name). This will open an "Object
Properties" windowand select the "General" tab.
     c) If the "Visible" checkbox is not ticked activate it by ticking
it.
     d) Click on "OK" and the image (company logo) should become
visible.

How to use .joboptions file while converting from Word to PDF

I'm pretty new to Acrobat. I'm using Acrobat XI. I need to convert a word document to a PDF file which conforms to certain requirements described by a given .joboptions file. The .joboptions file can be opened by distiller, but as far as I know distiller is not invovled in the conversion (Word to PDF) process. So how can I make sure the converted PDF file meets the requirement described by the .joboptions file?

Distiller is used when converting from Word to PDF, if you do it via the Acrobat panel, not the Adobe PDF printer or Word's internal Export to PDF command. If you've loaded your joboptions file in Distiller (via Settings - Add Adobe PDF Settings), then you will see it in the drop-down of Conversion Settings when you click the Preferences button in the Acrobat panel in Word.
After you've selected your job options profile click the Create PDF button, and the file will be converted using the selected options.

Convert word document to PDF file in SAP

Hello experts,
I've been searching around to get some code examples to upload a word document and convert it into a PDF file and then store it in unix. I hope one of you can help me, because many explanations and threads exist, but I did not get wiser reading them...
I don't want to use 3rd party tools to do the conversion, but do it directly in SAP with abap coding and if necessary spool processing.
System details:
SAP ECC 6.0 (unicode system)
SAP_ABA 700 0014 SAPKA70014 Cross-Application Component
SAP_BASIS 700 0014 SAPKB70014 SAP Basis Component

Hi,
You can get the spool no from transaction SP01 and later use this spool no to convert the word document to PDF
using the function module CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF and give the import parameter as ur spool id.
once the doc gets converted to PDF u can use CALL METHOD CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>FILE_SAVE_DIALOG
to get the path where the file is to be saved and later give the path to function module GUI_DOWNLOAD to download the file.
or else u can manually execute the following reports:
RSTXPDFT4 (give the spool no. as input)
RSPO0068 (give the word doc with its full path as input)

This PostScript file was created from an encrypted PDF file.

I have a postscript file which has been created from secure or encrypted (opening restriction) pdf.
Now when i use distiller to convert this postscript file to pdf then distiller cannot produce a pdf file.
The log file contains following text:
This PostScript file was created from an encrypted PDF file.
Redistilling encrypted PDF is not permitted.
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
1) Is there a way to convert this postscript file into pdf ?
I have a limitation that i cannot remove security from secure pdf.
2) Do distiller provide any settings which can be changed to convert
this kind of ps(from secure pdf) to pdf.
3) Can we provide password to distiller during process of conversion to
pdf.
4) If above methods do not work then is there a way we can
programatically use Distiller Api's for conversion of postscript (in case
of postscript created from secure pdf) to pdf
Like methods 'FileToPdf' etc.

I am facing a similar problem.
My workflow dictates that I convert the input PDF job initially to PS and finally back to PDF. If the input PDF file is secure (it's not encrypted - you will still be able to open the document), the redistillation of PS to PDF fails while using Normalizer 6.0 && 9.0 libraries. If I use Normalizer 505 library, the redistillation succeeds. I have checked with the same generated PS on both Distiller 6.0 && 9.0, and both the versions fail to reconvert as well. I am a little surprised that 6.0 and 9.0 will fail to do something that 505 library manages.
Any suggestions?

Depending on the system version, and Office Word version:
- a pure URL link starting with http or even www sometimes works in PDF, either produced by Aperçu or Adobe, sometimes does not work;
- other kind of links where the text under display is not a URL, never work!
I like everything with Apple computers and software, except PDF generation. Output files are usually bigger in size, and no better quality, than under Windows. Furthermore, it is weird that something as common as hyperlinks does not work correctly!
I related this question with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, but the problem is still there with Mac OS Lion.
This problem seems to have been around for years, without any proper solution from Apple and/or Adobe! To me, this is very embarrassing!

If I understand the problem correctly (I’m not sure I do) you would prefer ‘iii’ to be read as “eye eye eye” rather than “three”? The alt text property is the only way that I know of to make this happen. Hope this helps.

Convert portfolio to single pdf file

Hi, I have a portfolio of my email archive which I want to convert to a single pdf file. The way I'm doing it is by combining files and adding the portfolio file and then clicking combine, merge files into a single pdf, adding the portfolio and selecting single pdf file. This 'breaks up' the portfolio into its individual constituents which you can then combing into a single normal pdf file.
But there is a problem. In the portfolio the original date of the email is retained so you can sort the emails chronologically. However, when the portfolio is broken up the individual files are dated on the date the portfolio is created and so the new file is not sorted in the chronological send/receive order of the emails.
So my question is: how do I combine emails to a single pdf file in the chronological order of the emails?

Ps Since typing this message I've noticed that when printing all files in the portfolio it also doesn't print it in chronological order even though that's how they're sorted in the portfolio.

Something to try —
View the open Portfolio in the List or Basic Grid view.
Select all the files.
Select File > Sae Files from Portfolio > Use the Browse For Folder dialog to select a destination.
Click OK.
A copy of the Portfolio's files will be in the designated location.
Perform the Combine > Merge Files into a Single PDF action.

Since 11-4-14 every convert from Word to PDF has failed online or desktop - when will this be sorted

Since 11-4-14 EVERY convert from Word to PDF either online or desktop has failed, when will this be fixed?

No replies on here so went online and tried various options including "repair reader installation" plus uninstall and reinstall etc, some posts suggested a repair from the Printers file (Vista) so installed AdobeCreatePDF desktop printer plus Xerox Phaser PS printer as advised. All without any obvious sucess ie still no word docs converted after hours of trying. Then unexpectedly a further test convert attempt succeeded; tested again on desktop plus online and now all works fine as it did before. Who knows why - possibly only Adobe know. Will leave this thread here just in case the fail reappears over next few days!

After 9.3 update getting error printing to Adobe PDF while converting from Powerpoint to PDF

That happened after upgrading Acrobat Pro 9.1.2 to 9.2->9.3 on Windows XP sp2 platform. Converting from other Microsoft Office 2003 products is totally normal(Excel, Word) Did anyone came accross and know how to fix that?? We have many users with exactly same issue.

Adobe would call that hacking, and don't allow discussion of it in this forum. You should contact the copyright holder and see if they are prepared to release the password, or an unsecured document, to you.
