Converting from Quicken to iBank - need info on importing files

I am wanting to update my banking software and am running the OS 10.5.6 on a G4 but am about to convert to a new MacBook Pro with intel. I have been running an old copy of quicken for years and years through many Mac hardware upgrades 2002 and want to convert to using iBank. I worry that my Quicken 2002 may not run on the new intel computer. Actually, I'm amazed I've been able to use it for so long. If I buy iBank, will I be able to import the files from such an old version of Quicken? All I've ever done with it is to keep my account records and registers from savings, checking, credit cards and CDs. Hope someone knows before I invest in the iBank program. I don't want to go as complex as the new Quicken and besides, it's not out yet. Also, I'd like to stay with as many mac programs as I can. I find I do better that way.

Yes, iBank is a program for the Mac OS, but it is not made by Apple. These discussions are for technical support for Apple products, hardware & software. Apple may have third-party hardware & software for sale in both the online & retail Apple Stores, but that does not mean they provide support for them. There is a disclaimer at the bottom of the online Apple Store pages like this one I copied from the page for iBank that says:
Note: Products sold through this website that do not bear the Apple Brand name are serviced and supported exclusively by their manufacturers in accordance with terms and conditions packaged with the products. Apple's Limited Warranty does not apply to products that are not Apple-branded, even if packaged or sold with Apple products. Please contact the manufacturer directly for technical support and customer service.

  • How do i transfer from quicken to ibank

I need to go from quicken to ibank. I don't want to enter a bunch of items, is there a way to transfer existing file into ibank?

I recently transferred all of my financial data from Quicken 2010 (Microsoft version) to iBank and it was done easily and with no problems.  iBank also supports transfers from Mac versions of Quicken.  There are instructions in their Quick Start Guide which you can download from: http://www.iggsoftware.com/ibank/downloads.php
They also have a help forum at:  http://qa.iggsoft.com

  • I'm dying to upgrade to Lion.  But I know some appls will no longer work.  I just switched from Quicken to iBank.  How can I find out what else I'm going to use?  Is there a way on system profile?  A specific 'kind' of application?

Is there a way, in profiler? maybe to find out which programs I'll lose when i upgrade?  I've already switched from Quicken to iBank.  But I'd like to know in advance i I'm going to lose anything else important!

Browse to the Mac page at http://roaringapps.com/. There you'll find hundreds (thousands?) of Mac applications listed with indications as to Lion compatibility.
Surely, there's more to Lion compatibility than merely whether the app is "Intel" or "Universal", as opposed to "PowerPC" (as shown under Software > Applications in System Profiler).
It's a bit surprising that nobody seems to have done an app that scans your system then looks up Lion compatibility at roaringapps.

  • Did you convert from Money to iBank by importing a QIF file?

And, if you converted this way, did the imported data come in reflecting the correct Reconiliation coded value, i.e. "R" or blank?? I've heard war stories about how someone did convert this way and then had to reconcile all their data again in iBank. What was your experience.
Any info you can share is appreciated as I'm leaning towards iBank rather than Quicken. Thanks.

the iBank forum would have more info.

  • Automator application: Rtf's converted from pdf's do not open and word files from same rtf's are blank--???

I found directions for converting pdf's to word documents to facilitate editting.  The process used Automator by selecting
pdf's to be converted to rtf's.  The resulting rtf file could then be saved as a word document.  The problem is that the resulting
rtf's do not open and the saved word document opens blank.  What's the problem and the solution?

mns579 is correct, but it is even more complex than that. To put it bluntly, the only thing a PDF is guaranteed to do is print. There is no guarantee that any PDF will convert into any format other than an image (for printing). Some PDFs are composed of actual text or vector data and those are nice to work with, but not commonly encountered. In fact, pretty much the only time you are likely to have a PDF in a format that can be easily converted is when you have the document in some other original format from which you made the PDF. And, if you have said original format, why do you need PDF?

  • Need info regarding static file cache in weblogic

    Hi,
I want to cache the static files at weblogic side
I am using Apache plugin provided by weblogic
I have gone through the e-docs about FileCache ON which is needs to be set in httpd.conf
I want to know is there any settings which is set at weblogic to cache static files
As i am using apache plug in provided by weblogic i want to know if there is any setting at weblogic side
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
Normally the statis contents are served from web servers, in your case this may be from Apache. So what statis files are you referring to in weblogic, is that a part of HTML and images from WAR / EAR ?
In general weblogic has its own cache temp location as runtime to keep the classfiles and other resources unpacked from WAR / EAR.

  • Need sample subtitle import files.

    Hi everyone,
I am looking for some sample subtitle import files (both the header file and the related image files) that properly import into DVDSP4.
My situation is this: we produce subtitles for our anime and samurai films using a custom application I wrote that has evolved over the years (it originally ran on Mac II's 16 years ago). It currently outputs DVD subtitle files in various formats (like DAIKIN) that we have been sending off to authoring houses for years without problems.
However, we just tried importing some of them into DVDSP and it doesn't like them. Which means that there's some gotcha that doesn't affect us when we send to an authoring house but does cause DVDSP some grief, or some mistake we're making that just doesn't apply when sending the subs out for authoring.
The good news is that since we can update our app, if I can get some simple samples of graphic subtitles that import properly into DVDSP, I can tweak the app to produce exactly what DVDSP is looking for. So in this respect, I'm format agnostic, though I'm obviously looking for a format where one header file can import all the subtitles (usually hundreds of them) at once.
In the time-honored tradition of blatant technical bribery, the first person who can email me a little care package of subtitle header files and bitmaps that gets me on the right track to solving the problem will in return get a little care package of anime or samurai films.
Send your goodies to [email protected] with subtitle line SUBTITLE SALVATION
    Thanks in advance,
    R

  • How tedious is it to convert from windows to mac?

My windows (sony vaio running XP) is dying.  Got the dreaded 3 beeps on start up today...so will be shopping for a new desktop soon.
I have an ipad and iphone that I've owned for about a year now...and I must say I REALLY like them.  Have been contemplating going all mac....but EVERYTHING i do on my desktop is obviously windows based.  My biggies are quicken....i have files that go back 10 years and all my excel docs.  Has anyone recently made the jump from windows to mac...how hard is it really to convert everything over?

Millions have done what you are contemplating, most don't have any issues at all. I f you haven't already go to your local Apple Store and ask your questions and you will get honest replies, I did when I made the switch 7 years ago. I converted from Quicken to iBank which imported my Quicken data extremely easily. As for MS Office, simply get MS Office for Mac and you're set. It's compatible with the Windows version and opening files is the same across platforms.
I would also STRONGLY recommend you look at this Apple Mac Basics article:
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbasics/pctomac/
Also when you get a Mac and turn it on for the first time, one the steps it has is asking if you are migrating from a PC to the Mac. Simply choose yes and follow the on-screen prompts and you're set. You can also Google Migration Assistant for Windows for more detailed info if you want.

  • I was informed i need to purchase standard 11 or standard 12 (?) in order to make word files converted from pdf editable. how do i do this?

i was informed i need to purchase standard 11 or standard 12 from adobe in order to make files converted from pdf to word using the recently bought and installed adobe pdf exporter file. how/where do i do this?

Currently the Acrobat version is "XI" (no "12").
    With Acrobat XI installed:
"File - Save As Other"  --- from here you pick the supported file format for the export.
If a PDF has content that is the output of a scanner then that output (as is the case for All scanners' output) is a picture of text and not real text.
During an export all that can be processed is the picture. As a picture of text is not text it is understandable why Word (or other word processors) cannot edit the content.
So, for such, prior to export run Acrobat's OCR and save.
The export will be of the OCR content.
Do expect to do clean of the text, spelling, punctuation, layout etc.
This may be minor. This may be major. But, there will be some.
Adobe as some online subscription services that can take a "proper" PDF (NOT all are eh) and export to supported file formats.
Two are "ExportPDF" and "PDF Pack".
    Be well...

I'm not looking to convert the whole document, just need to copy a few lines here and there.
ps.  Wow, what a user UNFRIENDLY site this is!

In most cases you can just select the text and copy/paste. You can do that unless the file is a picture/scan.

  • How do I convert from PDF to Word step by step instructions needed..am practically computer illiterate

How do I convert from PDF to Word step by step instructions needed..am practically computer illiterate@

Ok, fine. That isn't Acrobat, and that's why our instructions weren't much use. (But it's worth saying "I didn't have that option" rather than "it's not converting", we could end up wasting a lot of your time with the wrong stuff!)
Anyway, the free Adobe Reader can't do this conversion without a subscription called either ExportPDF or PDF Pack. You may have had one in the past. Are you still paying for one?

Converted how?  If using ExportPDF, then you should be able to download it from acrobat.com by using your Adobe ID.

I'm converting from a PC to  iMac. On the PC I have many Inbox folders with PR info for distribution. How do I get these folders from the PC to the iMac? I've used the Windows e mail Inbox folders for an easy access filing cabinet for years, as this all goes out on e mail. Thanks for assisting me!

I think the easiest way would be to use Migration Assistant to get all that over...
