Converting instek psw labview examples from v8.2 to v7.1

The labview examples v8.2 of the instek psw series in needed in a 7.1 version. All I need is to control the constant current and constant voltage. I can supply the examples and visa.vi's or they can be obtained at instekamerica.com under downloads/software/power supplies/psw series. I need this because other legacy hardware must run on v7.1 labview. Here are the attached zip files.

Converting fluke 8846A DMM LabVIEW driver from 7.0 to 6.1

Can someone be so friendly to convert the attached LabVIEW driver for a Fluke 8846A DMM
from the LabVIEW 7.0 format into the LabVIEW 6.1 format.

Hi.
I'm new with labview. I need to use labview for my project for virtual pototyping.
Foe beginning, I'm trying the tutorials from http://www.ni.com/white-paper/9566/en/
I'm trying to open the below link both in LabVIEW and SolidWorks to understand the assembly operation.

I've looking for the 'Sorting Machine.SLDASM' file.
I've search everywhere but I can't find the directory for the file.
Really appreciate if anybody can tell me where I can find the link.

The problem seems to be with Scan Engine.
Here is a screenshot of the error mesage when deployment:
Configuration:
OS: Windows 8 Final
LabVIEW Version: 2012 with all updates installed
NI SoftMotion Version: 2012
Solidworks Version: 2010 SP4
I doubt the problem lies in OS as all examples are running flawlessly except that with Mechatronics Examples. Hope to get any response from NI SoftMotion Team. Thanks for your assistance in advance.

Are you talking about this? If so, I could not find much information on their website or in your post, so it is difficult to know what is going wrong...
By the looks of it, I'm guessing you are using the serial port of your PC to connect to their device which converts these to CAN messages. If you cannot transmit any messages, maybe your TX line is not connected properly to the RX line on the module. What kind of cable are you using?
Do you know if you need to send a command to represent that you want to send a message? Its difficult for us to help without the VI and the product manual at least.

I would like to read a text file in which the decimal numbers are using dots instead of commas. Is there a way of converting this in labVIEW, or how can I get the program to enterpret the figures in the correct way?

You must go in the labview option menu, you can select 'use the local
separator' in the front side submenu (LV6i).
If you use the "From Exponential/Fract/Eng" vi, you are able to select this
opton (with a boolean) without changing the labview parameters.

How to call a labview dll from excel-VBA?

How to call a simple Labview DLL from Excel VBA?
I have seen examples of DLL calls from VB but does it work the same way for VBA? I have 2000 excel and Labview 8.5. I created the DLL and tried to call it from VBA using the same type of code as in NI's website example(ofcourse its a bit diff with 8.5)

You would need to provide more details about the LabVIEW DLL, such as the prototypes of the functions (VIs) that you're trying to call, and your actual VBA code. Specifically, what object you're trying to create. You should also make sure the Run-Time Enginer is installed, as well as any required libraries such as the VISA Run-Time if you're using VISA. Have you made sure to enable the ActiveX server for the DLL?

LabVIEW example problem

i have install labview 7.1 development software with driver , on windows xp
i am not able to open example . it shows following errors "CAN NOT FIND LabVIEW SERVICE PORT FROM SERVICE LOCATER YOU WILL BOT BE ABLE TO BROWS DIRECTRY STRUCTRY" while when i make any programme it works
please help to solve this problem

Hi,
LabVIEW Example Finder uses NI Service Locator in the background. Try to restart the Service Locator and see if that helps. More information on this can be found at the following link.

Also, make sure that there is no antivirus or firewall application running in the background when you try to open the example.

Converting Units in LabView and specifying sampling rate with Universal Library functions

Hi,
I am having trouble converting units in LabView 7.0 and having it write to a file / output on a chart in Nm instead of in volts. I can't seem to find any straightforward instructions, eventhough it seems like a simple task.
Another task that would seem rather simple is changing the sampling rate with the XAIn program from the Universal Library for LabView (this is version 5.40).
If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it - I have tried other sources without much luck!

Are you really needing to change units or do you need to scale the voltages read from your sensors? If it's scaling, it would be trivial to set this up in mAX or with the DAQ Assistant if you were using an NI board. Since you are not, then you could use the Scaling and Mapping Express VI. The y axis of a chart is just a label. You can use the text tool to change it to anything you want.
I have no idea how to change sample rate for your board. Have you asked the vendor?

How to call Labview DLL from VB2005

Dear all expert,
I'm a student and very new in Labview programming.
Currently i have build a simple vi and need to convert it to dll so that i can call it from my VB.net. But the problem is how to call the labview dll from my VB.net?
I know we must declare function something like this,
Auto function Bodeplot Lib"..\\Bodeplot.dll" (Byval Val1 as double, Byval Val2 as double,...) as double
but how to determine Val1, Val2 (and so on) is input for which data? if my vi have 10 input (frequency, Kc,Fcz,Fcp,Wzrhp,Wp,k,Wz,Beta and Operation) ? and how to select the output (my application have 3 possible output : magnitup loop,phase loop, and degree loop)
In addition, since I'm using Labview 8.0 , and as i know apllication builder for this version cannot convert vi to dll which contain Mathscript (but unfortunely, my vi all use Mathscript), so really hope someone can help me to convert my vi to dll using Labview 8.2 (which remove this limitation).

If you insist on using Labview with your project then you should
consider using ActveX in place of using a dynamic link library to
interface to your VB.net code. You don't need "Application Builder"
if you use ActiveX. The Student, Basic and Full development versions
of Labview for Windows come with ActiveX capability. For more
information on ActiveX look up the subject ActiveX in Labview's Help
File.

Converting to real and imaginary from amplitude and frequency

basically there is a control of the amplitude and frequncy, so as to changes with resoect of real and imaginary

I ve enabled the Unit Label for the Freq control on the FP. Just rt-click & select to enable the Unit Label feature to dorectly key in the Deg [angle] value for the frequency parameter. Normally it takes frequency [or phase angle] in radians in LV.

Running examples from J2EE Tutorial

Has anyone been successfully running examples from
J2EE Tutorial on Creator?
I tried to import the JSP but Creator complains that it is
not an XHTML document. Clicking on the 'Convert to XHTML'
button or 'Preview...' button does not seem to do anything.
Openning the Source panel shows parsing problems on
<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h" %>
Does anyone know how to run these in Creator correctly?

I have download the examples from Sun,
unzipped It into my Projektfolder and open it in Creator, start it and works fine ...
No error messages ....

Trouble with examples from the website

I was trying to down load couple of examples from your website - Motor
control, closed loop control system. But have trouble with it.
I have Labview version 5.1 not 7.
It gives an error after I unzip the file.
Are they not compatible with 5.1??

When you download an example from the NI homepage please always have a look at the "Software Requirements" section. Here you will find the version of the development environment the example was compiled with.
Many examples are compiled with LV 6.x or LV 7.x thus it's probable that you can't open them with LV 5.x
