Converting into AVI, Mpeg2, and WMV
What's the best way to convert files into AVI, Mpeg2 and WMV from Final Cut Pro? Should I convert into .mov then convert into those from another program? As far as I know, Final Cut only does Mpeg2. I would like to get the best quality.
Concerning AVI, it depends on what codec you want within the AVI container. How will the AVI be used? Is it going to be further compressed on a Windows system, or used in Premiere on a Wiindows computer, or perhaps played from within PowerPoint?
Really, the only good reason to make an AVI any more is to provide compatibility with certain software on the Windows platform that still requires it. Otherwise, Windows Media or Quicktime provide better solutions.

Following is the procedure to convert alv output to spool and then it to PDF Format.
After we display the ALV, we can check whether it is running in the background using system field u2018sy-batchu2018. Then,we call an function module named u2018GET_JOB_RUNTIME_INFOu2019 to get the current job information. Then go to spool request table tbtcp to get the spool id.

Converting avi, mpeg, and wmv video
Does anyone know if there is free software available and if so, where would I download from, that would enable me to convert avi, mpeg or wmv files so that I may view video on my imac? Quicktime and Realplayer fail to convert these files.

A Full DTP is converted into delta DTP and facing some data problem
Recently Full DTP(DSO to DSO) is converted into delta DTP , we are facing some data problem in first request.Some data in D2 are not updated properly after just converted in full to delta. Please let me know if you have any idea.

MPEG streamclip compression types - converting into avi files to burn into DVDs later. HELP!!!!
I've made a movie on my iMovie '08 and export it and now I want to convert it to avi because I want to burn it into DVDs. I didn't use the 'export using quicktime' option on iMovie because there's this error occuring (error code = -43) and I don't know why! Anyhow, I'm using MPEG streamclip, and I'm so confused with the compression windows? What should I choose if I want the DVDs to be played on TV? Apple Photo - JPEG doesn't sound right. And the frame size thingy too. I also dragged the quality into 100% so that it would turn out good. PLEASE HELP ME! I really don't understand technical stuff like this Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have MTS video files that import from a Canon Vixia HF S20 HD camera. I imported into I Movie. They converted into MOV files and I see them in the movies folder in finder. They view fine and run through the events folder in Finder. In I Movie, I created a new project and used a "Theme". The project worked fine at first but then some clips started to freeze and some lost audio. The effected clips are the same in the project library and in the event library, meaning they are froze in both places. As I said when i view through finder the MOV files preview and work fine. Is this inherent to MTS files using in I movie. SHould i consider using a file converter to convert to MOV files prior to importing into I movie.
I found on Apple support site info that states the MTS files can only be imported through the camera. I am developing my back up procedures and now I am faced with backing up in the original MTS files but not being able to reload if necessary into I movie. Any suggestions?I'd like to add that after I import these clips without thumbnails, iMovie does give me an error and say that they could not be imported. No explanation as to why, though. Again, they play fine on my camera.

from DMS point of view it is possible to convert an original to BMP format. Therefore you have to set up a conversion routine in customizing and link a converter to your system, which is able to convert the original in the desired format.
First of all the converter has to be linked to the R/3 System by RFC connection in SM59. Please see
the attached document which contains all necessary information about setting up the converter and conversion.
Further customizing settings can be found in transaction SPRO under:
Cross-Application Components
> Document Management
> Conversion of Original Application Files
The conversion could be defined to be started in transaction CONV02, with status change or by using workflows. For using the conversion within workflows please see SAP note 687199 for further information.

How to Push the into SAP ( XML data converted into IDOC )
Hi
i am getting XML file from Non SAP system.I need to push XML data into SAP on daily basis with out using XI as the middleware.
I know if i get text file will use BDC's or LSMW. But i am getting data in XML format and then i need to converted into IDOC format and stored in to sap data base tables.

sriniIs the XML an IDOC-XML or custom XML that you need to post as an IDOC??
If it is IDOC-XML you need to defined XMLFile port to process the IDOC-XML without any mapping.
If it is a custom XML, parse the XML data into an internal table (as required) & continue with BDC or IDOC posting as you wish.

Trouble with audio when converting ProRes to MPEG2 HD 422
I am not sure what the problem is but the files I make with compressor won't play back audio on our Play out server.
the PlayBox AirBox. The files I tried from Sorenson Squeeze 8.5 seemed to work fine. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
here are my settingsIt turns out that I can use the HD XDCam 50 setting to work with our playout server.
Although the bitrate is higher than necessary. The final bitrate on the MPEG2 encoder on the output before the transmitter is only about 12Mpbs. But hey this works!
I just wish Apple would support an MPEG2 HD 422 codec that would allow for bitrate adjustments etc...
I saw that PixelTools has a QT Codec plug in for QT but it is like $1,600!!!
But the cool thing is you can export directly from your timeline into HD MPEG2 and include your closed caption files at the same time. -
Convert DV AVI to DV MOV and retain timecode
How can I convert a DV AVI created on Windows to something that Final Cut understands? I can import the AVI directly into FCP, but I lose the timecode and I need to render it. I can convert the AVI to MOV, but I lose the timecode information in the file. Any recommendations on what software can do what I need? I have tried MPEG Streamclip and QT Pro. I can record to raw .dv files if needed. It also needs to be a lossless conversion - just basically looking to change the wrapper so that FCP understands the file.
I guess the biggest issue is that if my TC does not match what is on tape then I can't imagine trying to get the footage re-captured from tape if the file gets corrupted or deleted. I already know the answer to that - "be sure to always back up your data". Yes, but for us the video tape is the backup. File gets deleted? No problem. Right click, batch capture, insert tape, wait the capture time, done. If I don't have matching TC then I would need to backup all of our footage daily, which is out of the question due to the amount of footage we have and the cost associated with that.
I know how to assign new TC to a clip, but without a painstaking process of manually looking for a good sync point on the clip and the tape to find what TC I need to manually put in I don't know a better/faster way.
Capturing in FCP of course is not a problem. TC remains what it should be, all is well there.
I have not looked into Live Capture Plus, but I really need something for PCs due to cost of Mac hardware. -
Work Flow - FCE to QT then compress and convert to AVI for web upload
I am creating movie clips that will be 5 to 10 min in length to be streamed on my website. At the current time, my CMS (content management system) for the web cannot accept H.264 (MP4) files, but can accept FLV, AVI and WMV. So, given this constraint, my workflow has been:
1) export from FCE to QT as self contained movie (Large HD files some up to 10GB)
2) compress down to a web usable size (maybe 180MB or so) at 640 X 480 using Elgato Turbo H.264 (however it only converts to .MP4 format)
3) use MPEG Streamslip to convert the compressed file from MP4 to AVI file
4) upload to web
My problem is that I seem to lose quality when converting from MP4 to AVI. Can anyone improve on this workflow or recommend products that might make this process and improve the quality of the final product?
I am still searching the forum, but only finding bits and pieces and not the full picture for my problem.
Thank you.After doing this a few times, I remember why I was using Elgato...it is very fast and the quality is really good. MPEG Streamslip is almost as fast but slightly lacking in the quality. Still, it is really good. I just need to select the best output from Streamslip for the best quality.
