Converting LV 5.x VI to one that can be read by 8.5

I have a file that I downloaded as a new Labview user. real-time_chart.zip
I see many postings that people have requested a conversion from 5 to 8.5 which is what I need but, can I do this myself and not bother others?

If you downloaded that file from here then you wasted your time. That file is the same as what is in the shipping examples of 8.5. Just open the example finder, go to the search tab, and search for charts or on the Browse tab, open Fundamentals>Graphs and charts.

Afraid Compressor won't work with MKV. If you have access to a system running an earlier version than Mavericks, and with Perian installed you can use MPEG Streamclip or Quick Time Pro to convert to a mov.

I don't think any conversions are needed, just get yourself an external USB 3.5" floppy drive and drag the documents onto your iMac's HD. You should be able to locate one on Ebay or maybe even Amazon. To open them you will need something that reads .doc files like Pages, MS Word for Mac etc..

Want my JFrame to be the *only* one that can end the program when closed

Hi all,
I have an application that is essentially a launcher for other applications -- it's a holder to allow us to demo our work and other Java examples (not necessarily our work). The launcher will either run methods to launch an application or will find a class's main method and invoke that.
In all cases, the other applications open up their own JFrames, separate from my launcher (this is a good thing). The problem is that, in general, the other JFrames are set to EXIT_ON_CLOSE. This means that if the user closes the second window, everything will close.
Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? I'd like either a way to say that my JFrame is the only one that can exit the program when closed, or to say globally that JFrames can't exit on close, and then re-work my initial frame so that it is still able to exit.
Note that changing all the other applications so that they do not include the EXIT_ON_CLOSE line is not an option (several of the applications we have the right to use, but not the right to modify, for instance).
Any thoughts?

So I think that launching a new JVM may be the only option.... Any advice on how to do this? I'm a little stuck with the ProcessBuilder stuff above.

I guess I was thinking this as a process-oriented question (I had already been thinking of the "different JVM" tactic), but the other option was to think of it as a pure-swing problem, like your solution above. Guess I should have just cross-posted -- everyone loves that! ;-)

I'm not sure that it matters whether it's the same device that you purchased it, it might be that you are only allowed to download it from your 'account' once - which may be onto a different device to the one that you purchased the subscription/issue from.
Some magazines/newspapers allow you to download on multiple devices and some don't - so I'd check before you download the first copy, either via their support/help page (which you could do before purchasing), or if you can't find any info about it download it onto the device where you are most likely to read it and then see if you can also download the same issue on your other devices.

I've successfully connected 32 gig SDHC and CF cards so if there is an upper limit, it's at least 32 gig.
I know SDXC will not work.
With the cards that don't work, have they been formatted correctly? the camera connection kit will only read cards holding images. (Well, it'll only see the images) And those images have to have a file name of exactly 8 characters (DSC_2342 for example) and they have to be in a folder named DCIM.
Anything else it wont' read.
I put a photo on there called 'Christmas' and the connection kit won't see it. I put a photo on there in the DCIM folder named XMAS2342 it'll see that.
So it's possible that those cards weren't read because they weren't speaking the right language.

Yes, there are programs that will put a movie on a DVD. I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, DVD Creator, Wondershare, and others. None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD. IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.

If you want assistance you need to quit the rant and state what you need. Also be specific, you don't mention anything about the old Mac, the kind of EHD, what it is used for etc....
If you want to share a EHD between a PC and Mac you will have many limitations, primarily the size of files you can store.

Hey there. Is there a possibility to create a calendar with iCal that can be used by multiple people?
For example: There's a person A and a person B. A creates and publishes a calender "birthdays" and B wants to be able to add or delete events in this calendar. What do they have to do?

We are trying to read large amount of data using "Select" of DB Adapter. I wanted to know if there is any limit to amount of records that can be returned in 1 message?
We have tried for 30K so far and no issues - but any clues on the threshold?

Hmmm...I dont think there is a restriction for reading data from tables.
I have fetched more than 65k data and it ran successfully.

How can I speak to some one that can help at Apple

I am greatly in need of some help.
A little over one year ago I purchased a black Iphone 5 16GB phone which was brand new out on the market at the time. It was the first time I had invested in the Iphone brand, it unfortunately didn't take long for a software fault to develop to my disappointment. I live more than 80 miles to the nearest Apple store but made the journey by train anyway to see if I could get it fixed.
I left my phone at the shop for half an hour but sadly it couldn't be fixed and a new phone was handed to me which was bitter sweet, great that the problem had been resolved but I lost all of my things on the phone. Although I can't not knock the Apple customer care, it was great.
The replacement phone lasted not long before again a software fault developed much to my amazement I made the journey again. It was at this time I realised that a warranty doesn't extend even when you get a completely new phone which could have a whole new set of problems.
Over all my phone as been replaced three times due to faults which couldn't be fixed in the software of the phone, I am now at a point where my phone again is showing signs of a fault in that when the screen is touched it doesn't always give a response, the phone also 'blacks out'. Not only that but there is a purple dot on my camera when taking photographs. However my warranty is now at an end even though I have only had this handset for two months.
I am really disappointed with this and left wondering if I am the unluckiest person ever or if there is in fact a problem with the Iphone 5 and that is why it was on the market for such a short time?
This is all really unfair!
