I need help converting an MP4 to the swf format to
put director movie online

Thank you. You're the first person who actually got me going. I'm on the
right path. I was able to use the demo of mac's Video Flash Encoder to get
a demo flash video onto a page on my site, but, unfortunately without
sound. I'm hoping that I can now figure out how to add sound and make the
video a controllable streaming video with play and pause and volume, with
control. Do you have any more suggestions?

Converting video to swf files in flash for breeze

Hello,
I am using Adobe Premiere Pro 2 and wanted to know what the
best video codec and audio codec to use when I export to create a
video file to insert into flash to convert to a swf file for
breeze? I am having trouble with the audio, must I demux it first
before I put into Flash? Or is there a audio codec that I can use
in Premiere so I don't have to demux the audio?
Also, when I insert a swf file in breeze plug-in for PPT, it
does not play the video or give me the controll by presentation
playbar I checked off. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, could use
some help, thanks.

hi,
if you work with the player component the .flv is not
embedded in the
swf. In Breeze you can only insert a single flash file I
suppose, so the
attached .flv file won't show up.

a flash SWF to print the same way as a Microsoft Word document way
is just stupid, think of the SWF's timeline and number of
movieclips (and movieclips within movieclips) and how much
information can be contained within it and how it might not always
be in a linear format (eg. like a Word Doc) = your answer which is
Flash is designed for online delivery of rich media content, where
Microsoft Word is designed for printing.

Convert MP4 (or SWF) to FMR SWF?

Hi Everyone,
I could be completely overlooking something here, but this is starting to do my head in so thought I would see if anyone had a solution for me:
I have a video (originally an MP4 however have converted it to SWF and FLV) that I would like to insert into my project. However I would like the video/animation to be inserted as an FMR slide so I can see the FMR Edit Options as i need to Trim, Split and Insert.
Is this possible in Captivate? I can use version 5, 5.5 or 6 however would prefer to do this in CS5 if possible (although not the end of the world if i cannot).
So far the only way I have found to do what I want is to create a FMR project and record Windows Media Player as the video plays which is giving terrible quality (as expected).
If you need any more information please let me know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Issue Concerning Flip Book Creation using In Design and converting document to SWF file

Hello. We are a charitable organization which publishes an annual magazine. I have been looking at better ways show our magazine on the web and like the FLIP BOOK format. I have created a sample here -- 2014 Magazine When you look at this you will see that there is an issue with a white page showing at the front and the back of the magazine. I prefer the 2 page format. Have tried in one page - don't like it. I also don't have funding available to purchase more software to do this. While I appreciate they exist, I get the result I want I just don't want the first white page or the last white page to show. Does anyone know if there is a work around. We do our website design with Muse.

I have been looking at better ways show our magazine on the web and like the FLIP BOOK format.
Are you ok with the magazine not showing on Tablets? And the text is almost illegible because of the low res.
When you look at this you will see that there is an issue with a white page showing at the front and the back of the magazine.
When you export a swf you can choose use Paper as the background color. A swf movie's stage is one static pixel dimension, so if you want spreads the stage would be set to the spread dimension. You get the Paper background color to the left of page 1, which is the empty stage.
A work around would be to set your InDesign Paper swatch color to match the HTML container background (#5F0F1C in your case) and then put a frame filled with white on the bottom layer behind every page.

Converting mp4 to wmv file

Here is the whole picture. I have a newer iMac and I have a few movies in my itunes that I watch on my ipod touch. I would like to be able to save a copy of these movies to a flash drive memory stick and play them on a PC computer that only has Windows Media (no itunes or Quicktime). Is there a way to convert a copy in such a way with a program to make it work??

How do I convert from AVI or FLV to SWF file?

First, I'm a complete Flash novice...this is the first time
I've dealt with any FLV or SWF files. So, please forgive my
ignorance on these topics. I have several small AVI files and have
successfully converted them to FLV format via Premiere Pro CS3 and
Adobe Media Encoder. But the client is also asking for SWF files of
the same videos. I've looked and looked for a way to save SWF
files. I tried pulling the video into Flash CS3, and saving as SWF,
but since I know nothing about using Flash, I don't seem to be
doing it correctly...seems like I'm getting just a single blank
frame. I've looked at the dozens of third party programs that claim
to be able to convert FLV to SWF, but the one I downloaded "Free
Video to Flash Converter" generated an SWF file that doesn't seem
to be playable anywhere. If there is a click-by-click method for
using Flash to perform the conversion, I'd be ever so grateful.
Again, please forgive my Flash-ignorance. Thanks for your help.

Why doesn't Flash have a built-in capability to convert FLV
to SWF? It's an obvious need and there are 3rd party programs of
varying quality that do it. Why should people who have already
purchased Flash need to look for something that handles this OK and
then install it on their machines?

Converting mp4 files to mp3

I'm trying to send a song which has been downloaded from i-tunes to my phone via bluetooth, but my phone doesn't have an mp4 player on it, and ive tried converting it but even when I thought I did, i still cant play it on my phone, therefore does anyone know if it is possible to convert mp4 into mp3 files or any other advise gratefully welcomed.

If you've downloaded it from the iTunes Store, then you won't be able to play the file on your phone because iTunes Store purchased tracks are protected against copying/conversion to MP3.
If the file is ripped from your own CD you can convert it using the guide here:

Otherwise, you will have to burn an audio CD of the track(s), then re-rip them in MP3 format for your phone.

Avi to swf file

Hi, I have a 162 mb avi file I'm trying to convert to a swf
file using Flash Professional 8 to play on the internet. I'm really
lost on how to do this. I've tried converting it with the flash
encoder to a flv or fla file and then exporting it as a swf movie
but allI end up with is a 34kb file that does nothing when I try to
open it with the flash player....grrrrrrrrrr...lol
I've been to the help file serveral times but just don't seem
to be able to find anything on it.
Can anyone help me with this?

file - import - import video
and while you go through the import wizard, select the option
to include
the file into your timeline. Save it as Fla, publish, and you
get SWF with
video inside.

How to convert .mp4 or .flv to mp3?

I've been searching for Mac software that lets me convert mp4 or flv files to mp3, but I can't seem to find any at all. I know of some that work on windows, but since I have a macbook pro I want a program that works on it.
It doesn't have to be free, I don't mind paying for the software if it actually works...So if anyone knows of anything please let me know. Thanks in advance!

I use iSquint to convert the .flv to .mp4.
Then AudioExtract to rip the audio off (in AIFF format).
I add the new file to iTunes and convert it to .mp3, sometimes.
It's all freeware, but it'll ask you every time to donate or purchase.
There are no restrictions on iSquint.
There is a 3 file limit on AudioExtract. But all you have to do is quit after the first one and open it again.
Before I had AudioExtract, I'd import the .mp4 into iMovie and put in in a movie file and extract audio that way.

Could depend on where you got your .swf, too. The easiest way to obtain a useful copy of the video portion of a SWF file is to ask the creator to export it for you as a movie instead of native .swf which can contain tons of information that isn't really a movie.

Conversion of swf file to mp4

I am having difficulty converting an swf audio visual file into mp4 format in order to include the film in my new app. Adobe media encoder does not work as it does not support the import of swf files and the free converters on the web all look bit dodgy and loath to pay for one and then find out it doesn't perform the task.

How can I convert the metadata tags on my mp4s to xml files so that they can be read in Windows Media Center?

I have a library with almost 3000 movies and TV shows that I have fully tagged. However, I have decided to start using Windows Media Center and it does its metadata tagging through XML files. I wanted to know if anyone could tell me if there was a way to extract the metadata from those mp4s and convert them to a format that WMC could read? Thanks!!!!

iTunes can make XML playlists so it might be all you need, I made a simple one file playlist and exported it from iTunes. The result is shown below. In principle I could delete the playlist and the entry from the library, as long as I don't delete the file, then later reimport the XML playlist file. I haven't tested this particular scenario, but I assume that iTunes will read all the properties as listed unless it can read some kind of tag from the file itself in which case the current value of the tag would take precedence.
What I don't know is what media center would make of this file, or what its files look like, however assuming they have a similar structure that can be decoded then it should be possible to read data from the iTunes library and write out a text file that will make sense to media centre.
