Converting MS PowerPoint Slide in to MS Project

Hello ,
Today my boss has asked me to convert a MS PPT slide into MS Project , but i am unable to find any such option,
kindly guide me on the same.
Regards,
Amit

Hi,
Do you mind providing us more information? What is the meaning of the >>convert a MS PPT slide into MS Project <<?
I assume your scenario: There a Project plan that created with PowerPoint and you want to migrate it to Project that you can control the plan. If it is correct, this requested may be based on the original PPT, if there are some images to show the plan, we
can not convert it into MS Project. We need the editable data and tasks.
If I misunderstand something, please feel free let us know. And you also can upload some screenshots here. I'll appreciate for it.

  • How to convert a Powerpoint slide in jpeg!

I can't imagine Java has been passed by ColdFusion! We can do this in ColdFusion but I would like to do it in using Java only. Here is what I want to do.
I want to read a Powerpoint document (.ppt), select a slide, convert in .jpeg files and display this image in a web page. Each slide of the Powerpoint document will be converted like mentionned before and will be add table.
Any help? Is it possible to do that? It can be a nice feature if this does not exist....
Thanx anyone for the help... Yannick.

    It shouldn't be that hard,
    1. Get documentation on the .ppt format.
    2. Check how images are stored, and in which format.
    3. Find out if this format can be transfered to .jpeg easily using Java image functions.
    4. If not find third-party software that does.
    5. Find out how to display a .jpeg image in Java using built-in image functions.
    6. Write the display application.

  • Use FMS & Actionscript to Stream Audio/Video and control (powerpoint) slides

    Hi there,
My compnay provides webcasting services to numerous clients, and we currently use Windows Media Encoder as our base software for these projects.
However, I'm interested in switching to Flash Media Server, but need to figure out one issue and how to implement it in such a way like how we are currently using Windows Media Encoder.
We need a way to stream out a live audio/video feed AND have a way to control a presenter's POWERPOINT slides and have them advance by our command when streaming live.
Basically, the way we do it is we will stream out audio/video from WME and also use the encoder's SCRIPTING functions to send out a "url"  from the encoder to the actual page in which the viewer is watching the live embedded stream.  On that page is an embeded/internal frame which we can specify (using the id/name) that the url gets loaded, and this actually advances the slides (or more so pulls up a pre-created html page of the next slide in the person's powerpoint, which is actually a screenshot or exported image of that slide and embedded within a specific HTML file and hosted on the same server as the embedded player/html file)
Would there be a way to send out this same type of script using FMS?   I've been playing around with it and notice the interface itself does not have a built in scripting function like Windows Media Encoder does. However, I did read somewhere that it supports ActionScript... but I have no clue how to implement this feature.
I am just curious how it might be able to go about doing this?  Is there a way to use an [action]script with FMS and have it send out a URL to a specific frameset embedded on the same page as the Flash Media Encoder Playback?
Hopefully this make sense and that someone can point me in the right direction.  Switching to FMS over Windows Media Encoder is the way I would love to go, just need to figure out how this could be done.
Would a better method be converting the powerpoint slides to a swf or flv file, embedding that file within the same page as the FMS playback, and somehow using a script to "advance" the frames/slides/scenes within that file?
I also heard something about Flash "Shared Objects" and how this could be a way of controlling a swf file remotely.....
Could anyone give me some advice and know a method that I could use to achieve this type of implementation?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!   Thanks!

FMS (the interactive version, FMIS) has complete scripting support.
What you want to do can be done with FMS, and there are a lot of ways you can approach it. Converting to .swf can be helpful, as it means you have a single resource to load rather than a bunch of individual slide images (the flashplayer can load .swf, jpg, gif, png). Rather than embedding, I'd opt to make it an external resource and load it at runtime... that would keep the player application reusable.
To get an idea of how to use server side actionscript, see the getting started portion of the FMS 3.5 dev docs
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaServer/3.5_Deving/
Then, see the SSAS docs for the following classes in particular:
    The Client class for Client.call()
    The Stream class for Stream.send()
    The Shared object class
    The Application class for BroadcastMsg()
The docs give some general overview for the usage of each. The best choice really depends on your deployment architecture and scalability requirements.

  • Importing Ms Powerpoint Slides into a Project.

    I'm using Robohelp 7
I've created a manual in Ms Powerpoint containing 500 slides. It contains text, tables & Images. Is there any way to upload these slides into a project in Robohelp HTML.
I tried converting Powerpoint slides to XML format but then I lost the formatting and tables were converted to images.

    Hi leastoners,
If you're trying to insert a file into a Word document, your best bet is to check the Word online Help. (What you describe sounds like a function of Word, not of Acrobat). I did a quick search and came up with this: Add a PDF to a document - Word. But I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.
If I misunderstood your request, please let me know and we can take it from there.
    Best,
    Sara

    Hi Sara!
Yes this sounds interesting. Can I update to that from the PDF Export I have just renewed? How much would that cost?
    Thanks for your quick answer.

  • Convert powerpoint slide with embedded file (word, excel, etc) to pdf

    Hi all,
I have a word document or excel spreadsheet that I added as an object into the power point slide.
How can i convert powerpoint slide to PDF but still able to open the file when i click file icon.
So far the result I have once the slide is in PDF, I can't no longer click the file to open it.
    Thank you.

    Hi Joel,
The feature you are looking for, is currently not available in Acrobat.
But you can create an interactive link (to open Word/Excel) using Acrobat. Please look at the following link:

  • Images not appearing on slide when converted from Powerpoint to Keynote

My Pastor's Powerpoint slides converted nicely to Keynote except 2 pictures at the top of one slide. He saved just that slide as a separate ppt file and I could see the images in the thumbnail, but they're gone when it's opened in Keynote. I'm thinking a layering problem, but I'm new to iMac and Keynote. Any suggestions?

    Hi Lilybiri,
I have (again) requested my IT dept to take a look at what is going on.
If they cannt/wont help, then I may well take up Rick's very kind offer.
The more I think about it, the more I believe my problem(s) stem from having to link up to Adobe when working on-line.
It takes about 30 seconds from the time I open the initial Captivate start screen (attached) before any of the links become active.
That strikes me as way too long and might be the cause of the problem.
Any idea if this "link to Adobe" can to turned off? What do I need the link for anyway...day to day?

  • Converted from PowerPoint - animation has extra click on each slide

I converted a PowerPoint 2003 presentation into Adobe Captivate 4.  All works well except that on the published Captivate version there is one extra click at the end of each slide.  For example, each slide may have 4 or 5 bullets, but after the last bullet point is displayed, you have to click twice before it moves onto the next slide.  Is there a way to get rid of the extra required click?  (The clicks are correct in PowerPoint).
    Thanks.

I am having the same problem importing a PPT into Captivate 5.
When I imported, I made sure that the 'Advance Automatically' option was checked, and when I look at the timeline for the slides, there are no items that would make the slide pause.
When the slide finishes, it advances to the next slide, but immediately pauses. It won't continue until I press the Play button.
This problem mainly happens on slides that contain audio. (I've embedded the audio in the PPT file and tried importing the audio after it's been imported in CP5 -- same result.) There are a few imported PPT files that don't have any audio associated with it and it advanced without issue.
Help. This is driving me crazy!

  • Powerpoint slides, FCE and DVD

Hi all. I'm starting a project to edit footage of a speaker's keynote speech and PowerPoint presentation slides. I'll be using FCE for the edits and iDVD for the final production to DVD. I'll be working from AVI files provided for me, as well as the original PowerPoint slides.
We're planning on including crossfades to the PowerPoint slides the speaker used in his presentation. For this, I'm planning on using JPGs of each slide; these will be exported from PowerPoint.
The AVIs aren't a problem. My main concern are the PowerPoint slides and how they might appear later on DVD.
If anyone has had experience with this type of project before using FCE, I'd appreciate any special cautions/settings/lessons learned you might be willing to share before I get started.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks, Tom.
I suspected as much with the PowerPoints; which is why I posed the question before getting started.
I agree with the assessment about LiveType. Problem is, it would be prohibitive to re-create into LiveType all the PowerPoint slides throughout a 2-hour forum. To the speaker's credit, he doesn't use a lot of text. But, there are still a lot of slides, nonetheless...
I'll do some test runs with different formats before going full out with the project. Thinking of maybe using a third-party app to convert the PowerPoints to Flash for use with FCE. I've used that approach with good results on web-based productions. But I'll need to test it for DVD output. Anyone have any thoughts about that?
Tom, your caution about the AVIs... they're at 29.97 letterbox. What other guidance would you say about format?
    Thanks again in advance.

  • Wavy lines in bar charts after converting a Powerpoint to a pdf?

After converting a Powerpoint file to a pdf, the bar charts have wavy lines.  The one thing I noticed is that the problem appeared when creating the pdf with Notes showing.  If Notes are turned off, then the bars are fine.
Is there a solution for this?

    Version is Office 2007.
    OS is Windows 7.
Viewer - I think it is Acrobat 9 Pro.
When printing, the option to print notes is chosen.  If the option is just slides, the bars in the charts are normal.
To create a PDF, the Powerpoint file is open --> then go to Print --> in the Print dialog box, change the printer name to Adobe PDF and print.

  • Converting MS powerpoint files to pdf files with preservation of text so that it can be indexed

I have a bunch of powerpoint presentation that I want to convert to pdf documents so that I can make them available over the web.  I have already done this, but it seems that there are a variety of formats that you can get depending upon on the conversion is made.
I want to preserve the text within the powerpoint slides so that it can be indexed using a search engine indexing tool such as the zoom search engine (or Google).
I created a number of document formats using the Mac OS X Lion print as PDF feature, saving it as a  PDF from Powerpoint (Mac Office) and printing it as a PDF with the Save as Adobe PDF option in the Mac OS from PowerPoint.  I have Acrobat Pro installed on the Mac.
The save as Adobe PDF option seems to do the best, but there is some text that still isn't getting saved or indexed.
Just wondering what the best way to do this is.
    Thanks.
    Stephen

Are you able to select text in the PDF that gets created?

  • Why do circles rotated 45 degrees in PowerPoint slides not appearing in PDF -- a bug?

I am using Acrobat XI Professional and PowerPoint 2013 in Windows 8.
I have two PowerPoint slides. One slide is a filled-in circle. The other slide has another filled-in cirlce that is rotated 45 degrees. When I convert the PowerPoint presentation with the two slides to PDF using Acrobat > Create PDF, the circle that is rotated 45 degrees does not appear in the PDF document. This is true for all circles rotated by a factor of 45 degrees with the excpetion of circles that are factors of 90 degrees. LoriAUC pointed out to me that Save As > PDF works -- and it does.

It very well may be because when you do a Save As > PDF it works. I would submit this behavior to the Feature Request/Bug Report Form.
