Converting Music from Sony Sonic Stage to Itunes
Hi I already have my music stored on the PC in ATRAC format with Sony Sonic Stage Software and would like to know how to read or copy the files to the ITUNES format?
You'll need to try and track down software that will convert ATRAC files to an iTunes friendly format such as MP3. iTunes won't read or convert ATRAC files itself as they are a format which is proprietary to Sony.

How do I transfer my music files from Sony Sonic Stage to iTunes?
When iTunes prompts me to transfer my music files into iTunes the files in Sonic Stage are not transfered and I cannot find a way to transfer them over.
Dell Inspiron 1150 Windows XPI tried to transfer songs from Sonic Stage but the formats simply aren't compatible. I ended up burning all of the songs I'd purchased with Sonic Stage onto cd's and importing them in to iTunes. Pain in the butt and time consuming but at least I didn't lose my music.
Don't trash your Sonic Stage though! I moved my songs to iTunes and now am unable to burn with it. I'm so glad I didn't wipe out everything from Sonic Stage since I've reverted back to using it when I have to burn or if I want to do a compilation cd. Can't hurt to cover your bases. -
Importing Sony Sonic Stage Music
How can I import music I purchased from sony sonic stage to my apple ipod nano? The only way I have found that works is to burn to cd first then upload back into itunes. The problem is that none of the song titles appear in the transfer. I can edit the song tracks in itunes individualy however this is very time consuming.

my understanding is that this depends on your version of SonicStage. if you have a version that allows you to convert your ATRAC-encoded files to WAV:
Wikipedia: SonicStage
... then you could add the WAVs to your iTunes using "File > Add File/Folder to Library":

How can I get Itunes songs to my mp3 player (Sony Sonic Stage)?
I've browsed through the forums and it seems a lot of people want to export Sonic Stage files to Itunes!
I want the opposite. I just bought 100 songs from Itunes and can't get the m4a format changed in the Itunes advanced setting and I can't import the songs into my mp3 player (Sony Sonic Stage) because the files don't appear as part of my folder when searching (even though I'm looking for "all files").
I tried the Windows explorer to drag and drop from the Itunes folder to my mp3 player (it is flash based but loaded through the software SonicStage)and it didn't work.
I REALLY don't want to burn all of the new tracks to a CD to try to transfer them all back onto my mp3 player. Am I missing something really simple or is this a compatability flaw? I won't buy any more songs if it's the case but your assistance is GREATLY appreciated

Importing music from Sony MZ-NH600D Mini Disc
I have a number of songs that I origianlly recorderd on my Sony MZ-NH600D MiniDisc. My question is this, Is there any way to transfer theose songs from the MiniDisc to my itunes library. If not, then does anyone know how I can transfer these songs to a CD which I would then import to the Itunes library. I have Sony Sonic stage with a USB adapter to do PC to MD transfers, I just don't know how to move the songd from the minidiscs to my computer, and then import, or create a music CD.

As Forest writes. Your alternative is:
• to get a FireWire miniDV tape Camera
• try iMovie'08 (doubtfull - test in an Apple Store)
with a quality sacrifice:
• import from Your DVDs BUT to do this You need a program that can convert back
to streamingDV that iMovie and FCE/P uses (see below)
• Buy an analog to digital box like a CANOPUS ADVC 55, 110 or 300 and import
via analog (video) out on the Camera
A. don't put a mini DVD into Your iMac iBook or ProBook. You need a trayloaded DVD to do this.
B. Read what Karsten collected:

DVDs are in a socalled delivery format (mpeg2), which isn't meant and

"instant" cameras. Push the button, wait for the print to develop and
show it off. ..
for using the iLife apps, you have to convert'em first, in
recommended order, choose one of the following tools/workarounds:
• DVDxDV (free trial, 25$, Pro: 90$)
• Apple mpeg2 plugin (19$) + Streamclip (free)
• VisualHub (23.32$)
• Cinematize >60$
• Mpeg2Works >25$ + Apple plug-in
• Toast 6/7/8 allows converting to dv/insert dvd, hit apple-k
• connect a miniDV Camcorder with analogue input to a DVD-player and transfer disk to tape/use as converter
• Drop2DV (free) a free tool claiming to convert DVDs into dv-stream...
• Use iSquint for your conversions : www.iSquint.org

How to convert music from one apple account to another
how to convert music from one apple account to another

The apple account music you want to transfer >> go to itunes store and log into the apple account that you want music to be put on your ltunes library...sign in then after you sign in then look down on right hand side for the word "Purchased" and those are the accounts songs and you can download them for free.
Note that this does not change the iTunes account of these songs. This simply adds them to the iTunes library you are using.
Also note than once you do this, you will have to wait 90 days to redownload any iTunes purchases from any other iTunes account, including the original iTunes account.
It is possible to transfer itunes music from one account to another!
No it is not! -
I cannot add music from my computer onto my itunes library.
I cannot add music from my computer onto my itunes library. I have tried dragging the songs, importing them, going to Add files and Add folders, copy and pasting. They just won't turn up in my itunes library.
You don't say where you are having problems. The best answer will depend upon what exactly you are trying to do. If you are trying to add one or two files, copy them to a flash drive, then drag them from the drive to an iTunes playlist. If you are trying to move your whole library that requires a different answer.
Note .wma files will work with iTunes on a PC but cannot be added to a Mac iTunes. Convert them to another format on the PC first (but I don't think you can do that if they are protected format). -
CONVERTING MUSIC FROM ORIGINAL CDS (problem)
Hi I'm wondering why when i convert music from original cds to my phone that the sound only comes out of one speaker??? is there a way to resolve this?? downloaded and mp3 music works fine with great sound.
ThanxWhy don't you try this way:
- download and install iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
- Check in Preferences-->Extended (i believe)-->Import that AAC is selected
- rip your Audio CD via "Import CD" command
- sync with Nokia and play
If you do not hear stereo, then something is really wrong

I got a new computer and somehow have lost some of my more recently purchased and or imported music. I have some of that music on an iphone and some on an ipad. How do I get the music from those devices into my itunes library without losing everything else?
Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

I have added music from my CD library to iTunes on my PC. I now have too many songs in my iTunes and I have insufficient space in my 8 Gb Nano. I am unable to sync my iPod now. How can I get my iPod to sync? I only want a portion of my songs on the Nano.
Hi wisemra,
First, make sure your iTunes does not attempt to sync automatically. Open iTunes, and select Preferences under the iTunes menu item:
Then, once you have hooked up your device and selected it, you should see the device Profile pages to the right. Select the Music tab:
Once you get to the Music detail screen, you will see the option to "Sync Music". You can then select "Sync Entire Music Library" or you can select "Sync Selected Playlists, Artists, Albums, Genres". Click on the second one. Then, below, you can select which of your music from the library you want on your device:
Your will show a list of your music. Mine doesn't because I sync with an iTunes library on different computer, but once you have selected the options I have shown you, you will see the music listed. Just pick what you want on your device and then click "Sync" at the bottom.
Cheers,
