Converting non compatible files.

I have been told by my ISP that the firmware on my router needs to be upgraded. They gave me a file to download from the Internet DGN1000VG_V2.100.25.ndrf but it would not open. They say that it needs to be converted into .img but I do not know how to do this. Is there any other way around this situation? Is there any other file that would be compatible? Can anyone tell me how to convert it?

Thank you for your speedy reply. The full picture is, I complained to my ISP about slow speeds and they looked at the router settings and said that the firmware needed updating. They then gave me instructions as to how to download the file, then how to upload in the router settings. However the file would not open, so they referred me to an online technician who managed my computer remotely but he couldn't open it either. He then said I needed to convert the file to .img and because I didn't know how to do this he transferred me to the Digital Home Support team who said they could do it at a cost of £36. I am wondering if there may be an alternative solution to this problem. Maybe a different file that I could download with an upgrade for the firmware, one that would be compatible, or a different router.

How to translate/convert read non-mac files

I can't open my bank statement which I download from the internet. It's in 'Money' format.
But since I can 'translate' .xls when working in Appleworks why can't I get a downloaded equivalent version?
What's the best way to convert non-mac files that can't be concerted by maclinkplus (which is installed in my iBook)?

That's something to take up with your bank. Most bank & some credit card company web sites give you the option of what format you can download your account information in. Unfortunately, most don't give an option of tab-delimited text, just CSV (comma-delimited), & AppleWorks can't open CSV natively. You can, though, open the file in a work processing document & use Find/Replace to Find the comma delimiters, usually "," including the quotes & replace with \t, the "code" for tab. You will need to manually remove the beginning & ending quotes. Then select all & paste into a spreadsheet.
Or you can do what I do for several of mine. I access my account info using Camino or Firefox, not Safari, & select > copy > paste into my spreadsheet. I use Camino or Firefox because the tabs between fields are usually copies as such. Safari doesn't "understand" these tabs & will paste as a lot of spaces & returns.

Did you buy PSE in the mac app store? If not, just go to Help>Updates in the editor and update camera raw and you should be able to open the raw files in PSE 12 directly without the DNG converter.

Converting .WMV files to iTunes and iMovie 08 compatible files -- Possible?

I have QuickTime Pro for Windows (XP Home, SP3). I also have a MacBook Pro 17" notebook (OS X 10.5 Leopard) with iLife 08, an iPod Touch, and an iPhone 3G. I want to be able to view (and sometimes edit) -- on my MacBook Pro -- videos (with audio) that exist as .WMV files which I have downloaded from a friend's website to a Shared Folder on my PC (which is connected to my MacBook on a LAN). I'll probably break down and spend the $30 to upgrade QuickTime on my Mac to QuickTime Pro so that I won't have to work through a Shared Folder, but that's neither here nor there for the moment. What I wanted to do was to use QT Pro to convert the .WMV files to an Apple-compatible format, but it doesn't seem to be able to do that. It will go ahead and APPEAR to convert the file during Export, changing the file extension from .wmv to .mp4, for example, but the exported (converted?) file won't play in the QuickTime Player. I can press the Play button, and the marker moves as if the file were playing, but no movie appears on the screen and no audio is heard. Will I have to get third-party software to effect the conversion?

Yes, of course it is legal.
To convert the format, follow one of these documents:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Save a copy of a song in a new file format
iTunes 11 for Mac: Save a copy of a song in a new file format
Also note that you have the option of buying your files in MP3 format in the first place, from Amazon MP3 or other online retailers. MP3 files will work in iTunes as well as virtually every other player, program, and device.

Given you have Premiere Elements 12/12.1. (limit...2 GB 15 minutes, even if you have an extended time account at YouTube...the extended time account applies only to file uploaded to YouTube at the YouTube web site)
If your goal is to get a Premiere Elements 12 Timeline uploaded to YouTube, you have two possible routes....
a. Publish+Share/Social Websites/YouTube and your selection of the preset that matches your Timeline properties
or
b. Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with one of the .mp4 preset to export the Timeline content to a file saved to the computer hard drive from where you upload it to YouTube at the YouTube Web site.
For best results, I would suggest an AVCHD.mp4 file instead of the "avi" that you mentioned. What is the video compression that goes with that "avi" wrapper?
As for .mp3, that is a audio file extension, what is your intent on that....an upload to YouTube with just music and with a black video display? YouTube strictly enforces any copyright issues, so please assure that there are none associated with these .mp3 otherwise YouTube will remove them.

ImageMagick fails to convert a PDF file (GhostScript can't find file?)

I was trying to convert a .pdf file into a .png file with imagemagick (here is the sample pdf file: http://ompldr.org/vY2ljcg ).
However, apparently ImageMagick already failed simply opening the file:
$ convert main.pdf main.png

put it this way. if all PDF creator produces only standard PDF, then ghostscript is fine. But most PDF creator don't (except Adobe Acrobat). So a compatible pdf reader need handle non-standard PDFs. It's a long-term boring maintaining job which need much human resource.
My impression is poppler's community is the most active one which means it has more volunteers to fix bugs.
I am familiar with all the open sourced PDF engines because I did PDF application for 3 years.

I am trying to convert my .class file to a .dll file.
This is my java code:

Generated dll file using bimp tool like this (Visual J# .NET tool):
jbimp DateFunctions.jar /t:library
I got the file: DateFunctions.dll
Now loaded this dll into my code (say, TSL code in WinRunner) using load_dll("DateFunctions.dll");
When I try to access the method like:
j=getTimeInSeconds(int i);
I am getting the error RPC error.
Note: DLL is loading fine. but while accessing the functions I am getting the RPC error..
What could be the reason..?

Your answer lies in the documentation for WinRunner and whatever else is calling the DLL.
Certainly Java JNI has requirements for DLLs called from Java: They have to be C++ bindings that use the native header that Java generates, right?
So now you need to look at the requirements for your WinRunner and make sure that the program translating your .class file to a DLL does it in a such a way that the bindings WinRunner expects are indeed there.
But none of that has anything to do with Java. If your Java class compiles and tests successfully, then your questions about Java are satisfied. You have to figure out what WinRunner needs and what's missing from what you supplied.

Since pse 9 can only use up to camera raw 6.5 and the d600 needs at least 7.3 and the d800 needs at least 6.7, you can use the
8.6 adobe dng converter to convert those files to dng copies, which then pse 9 should open.
