Converting Outlook to Mail

Has anyone successfully converted MS Outlook mail to Apple Mail. If so, how?

Greetings,
Yes, you can convert Outlook mail to the format used by Mail. The easiest way is to use Outlook2Mail, though it costs $10, and your timestamps on the mail may change (I've never used it so I can't say for certain).

    - Problem: I have 1400 e-mails with attachments that need to be converted into pdf and the attachments cannot be embeded.
System: PC Windows 7 using Acrobat X Prof. - Thank you!

    Hi ,
There is an option of embedding index for faster search while converting email to a PDF .
However I am not sure that will serve your purpose or not .
I would recommend you to get in touch with Microsoft support as well .
Meanwhile I'll work on it and get back to you in case I get a desired solution .

  • Which conversion software can I download to mac to convert outlook .pst files to mac .mbox files?

Can anyone recommend software I can ddownload to an iMac to convert outlook .pst files stored on a memory stick to .mbox files for transfer to mac mail?  I have mail files I set up in outlook I need to transfer to my new mac, but have no internet connection on pc, so can't download anything on to it and have had to export .pst files to a usb stick.

Will I be able to get my (Mac sourced) songs and podcasts onto the IPOD from the sharing Windows computer?
No, iTunes library sharing only allows you to listen to music in the shared library.
Another question: is there any way to duplicate my actual song files to the Windows XP computer so that I don't have to turn on the Mac in order for itunes to function on the XP machine? All my song files are on the Mac.
Yes, use the network to copy the files from the Mac to the PC.

  • Conflict between program Mac mail and program Microsoft Outlook e-mail???

Denmark, Kolding, 30th of September 2010
A conflict between program Mac mail and program Microsoft Outlook e-mail?
For several months tried to discuss and resolve with several Apple specialists/support, but without much luck.
Therefore I have discussed these issues with 2 different and independent Mac users to find out in testing other Mac users will have the same problems as outlined in the below mentioned situations.
I will therefore outline the coverage issues, as mentioned, including occurs on my iMac 21.5 " with serial number: <Edited by Host> and 2 friends with their Macbooks of new dates as follows:
    1. Sending from my Mac plain mail as "plain text "(during formatting):
Plain text mail as "Plain Text "(during formatting) Verdana font size 10, sent and received on Windows PC with the correct letter size - but with the font changed to Century Gothic!!!
    2. Sending from my Mac plain mail "formatted text" (during formatting):
Eg. with my signature/signature-colored types and Verdana as font and size 10, possibly with underlining and italics in the text dispatched - the mail received as text with New Times Roman size 12 and signing /signature color Verdana now in size 13.5!!!!
    3. Sending plain mail "as normal text "(during formatting)
In the mail text underlined and made bold - the program asks whether to convert to RTF format (to keep underlining, bold, etc.) and Verdana as font and size 10, YES - this mail is received on the Windows PC as text with New Times Roman with the desired underlining and bold text and size 12!!!!
    4. Plain text mail as "formatted Text"
Eg. with signature / signature-colored types and Verdana as font and size 10, possibly with underlining and italics in the text sent - received as text with New Times Roman and signing / signature as colored Verdana now in size 13.5!!!
    5. Sending mail with file attached:
After producing a normal text document modified to PDF and directly from the Adobe Reader sent this PDF file in e-mail formatted as normal text with font Verdana 10 point, with signature. This is received on the Windows PC with a PDF file OK, but the font of the mail text is changed to Century Gothic and missing signature. Signature is available as an attachment on the Windows Outlook e-mail program as a ATT00113.text file. This can be opened and there is the missing signature!
    6. Sending e-mail with photos directly from iPhoto
iPhoto opens and click on the desired photos eg. 5 pcs. (Exactly as mentioned in the demo video!) and click on the e-mail icon at iPhoto and the program opens and e-mail that is opened with the attached photos and rich text is being used in the mail. Signature disappears and must be clicked on the mail by the sender.
The mail is received with the attached pictures OK - text changed to Times Roman with the desired bold - though no signature and 5 pcs. Att0028.html files attached. These can be opened and contains the file number each picture!
The above problems can be partly avoided by the following:
    1. Only send mails as plain text
Without any underlining, attachments, etc.. When the Windows PC Outlook receiver opens the mail where only the text fond is changed!!
    2. Sending mail with attached file
Start opening the mail program and use formatted plain text first and then attach (with the staple) file, and the Window receiver will get the file, but text and signature changed to Times New Roman size 13!!
    3. Sending mail with photos from iPhoto
Start by opening mail program text in Verdana 10 and click the Photo Browser and find (look for - takes its time!) the pictures you want to send and pull/drag them into the mail and send, - images, text and signature are in the mail on Windows PC - but with the font changed to Century Gothic!!!
If sent as formatted text with various underlining, italics, etc. together with the photos will be received OK - but the writing is now New Times Roman size 12 signatures Verdana now in size 13!!!
I must say – I am disappointed with the Mac mail program – it actually means that sending a perfect mail with underlining, colours, a.s.o. also photos directly from iPhoto – will received at a Windows computer in a totally mess.
Looking forward to some good news from either Mac supporter or some clever Mac users who can help me to adjust my Mac to avoid these problems IF POSSIBLE!!!!.
Apple/Mac is too good a product to make these problems!!
    Best regards

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The PC sets the font on its side, the Mac does on its side for plain text. There is no "font size" in plain text coding. Rich Text gives you a bit more control, but only if both e-mail clients support it. HTML gives you a bit more control, but only if both e-mail clients support it. Use the asterisk, parenthesis, underscore, or any keyboard symbol that is part of the original ASCII. Otherwise, the chance is nobody else will be able to read it who does not have your e-mail client in the same version.
Sadly there are no e-mail standards except MIME for attachment, and even that isn't universally supported. E-mail is not the ideal medium for anything except plain text that is ASCII. To learn more about ASCII, see:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII
If you want to post a website that is universally understood, see the hints here:

  • Convert Outlook Contacts to Address Book - Help

I am trying to convert Outlook Contracts to Snow Leopard Mac Address Book. I have been successful in converting and importing all contacts, but contacts with multiple e-mail addresses in Outlook Contacts only imported one e-mail per contact. My source file that I am using to import into MAC Address Book is a vCard file. I created the vCard file two different ways. First I tried Sperry Softward Add-In for Outlook. Next I tried importing the Sperry Softward source file into Google G-Mail Contacts. It imported into G-Mail successfully (multiple emails per each contact sucessfully imported). I then exported from G-Mail to create a new source file and imported the new file into MAC Address Book. It again, did not work.
    Any thoughts? Thanks <D

  • How to Convert Outlook to Lotus Notes ?

I'm looking for the way to convert my Outlook email archive (.pst) to Lotus Notes mail file (.nsf). I found that there is some commercial 3rd party tool doing this job which is too expensive for me. Is there any good and manual way to
convert .pst to .nsf or to move my mail data from Outlook to Lotus Notes ?

    Hi andy
Here is a free utility to convert Outlook to Lotus Notes known as Nupgrade.exe. With the help of this tool you will easily transfer Outlook data to Lotus Notes. With this tool you will need to remember few things like:
    • The Upgrade Wizard is not installed with the Notes client, by default. To obtain the Upgrade Wizard, perform a custom install of the Notes client and select to install the Migration Tools components.
    • Confirm that Microsoft Outlook is configured on the workstation as "Corporate or Workgroup" instead of "Internet Mail Only"
    • Confirm that Microsoft Outlook is configured as the default mail application on the workstation.
Verify which Outlook .pst files are linked to a profile on that workstation.
After that with the help of few easy steps you will easily convert Outlook PST to Lotus Notes:
    1. Open a Command Prompt window by selecting Start --> Run and then type in:
          cmd.exe
    2. Change to the Notes client program directory. For example:
        cd program files\lotus\notes
    3. Enter the following command to launch the Upgrade Wizard:
       Nupgrade.exe 3
    4. Click "Next" to continue past the Welcome Screen.
    5. Select your profile that is linked to the .PST and .PAB files to be migrated and then click "Next" to continue.
    6. Specify the type of Upgrade Method to be performed, either "Express" or "Custom", and then click "Next" to continue.
Note: If you select "Custom", on the following screen, you can specify which items that you want to convert to Notes. However, if you select "Express" (the default upgrade method), all .PST files and .PAB files linked to the selected profile will be converted
    to Notes.
    7. Click "Next" to accept the defaults for Personal Folder Conversion Options. By default, the Upgrade Wizard will convert the contents of .PST files into a Notes database based on the default mail template (e.g., Mail6.ntf). The Notes database created by the
upgrade wizard is created in a Mail folder below the Notes client data directory.
    8. Select "Finish" to begin the conversion process when you reach the begin upgrade screen. Once the Upgrade Wizard begins the conversion process, you will need to supply the password for the Notes User ID.
But if your MS Outlook account is connected is “Internet Mail Only” then you will need to use a third party tool like
Outlook to Notes Converter which easily convert Outlook data to Lotus Notes file format. Because a right third party tool is always guarantee for secure data conversion process. Read more:

  • Outlook to Mail, surely it isn't really this difficult?

I am desperately trying to find a free way to take my outlook messages, subfolders and contacts over to Mail and Address Book. The Windows laptop I'm trying to get the messages off is basically dead, as it takes me 25 minutes for it to open Outlook. So, options such as installing Thunderbird and going Outlook ==> Thunderbird ==> Mail are fairly unattractive. I have tried Microsoft's pst to entourage converter, thinking I would be able to then import from Entourage into Mail however it is telling me I have the wrong version of entourage although it is the most recently updated version of Entourage 2008 which Microsoft says should work.
I'm open to anything free, however in a an ideal world a mac based application of method would be the best.
    Thanks so much.

The only solution that I found to work for converting Windows Outlook -> Mac is LittleMachine's Outlook2Mac. It's $10. You have to run it on the Windows machine, however. I would suggest copying your PST file(s) to another Windows machine and run O2M there.
Another option +may be+ to export from your PST's to MBOX files although you would need Outlook running in order to do that.

  • Deleting Old Outlook E-mail Address and Adding a New One

I am using an SMT5800 and have recently moved. In my previous location, my phone was synced to my workplace Outlook E-mail address. Since moving, I have tried repeatedly to update my Outlook E-mail settings to match my new workplace. Unfortunately, when attempting to change the Outlook settings, the phone does not allow me to remove my old username. Since the phone also does not allow me to simply delete the old Outlook address and simply start over, I remain unable to Active Sync with my current place of employment. How might I go about rectifying this?

I assume you were using MS Exchange for your work. If you can not delete the old account then you do have a problem. This should not be an issue. First back up your phone, Contacts, Settings etc using a backup program like PPCPIMbackup(free) or SPB backup or equivalent. For this message I used PPCpim Backup and backed up all my data to my storage card. Next start ACTIVESYNC on the phone, click MENU>OPTIONS and delete the Exchange account there. Then establish a account with your new workplace. Once the account is established Start PPCPIM backup and restore just the info you want, i.e. contacts etc. That should work.

  • Converted Outlook to iCal - All day events messed up

I converted Outlook calendar via O2M and imported it into iCal on iMac.  The all-day events are blocking up time from 12:00am to 12:00am rather than appearing in the all-day box at the top of the day.  When I click on the event, the "Make All-Day Event" selection is grayed out and I cannot select it.  The events are blocking up and crowding my calendar and I can't see anything.  I don't want to delete and re-enter all events. Just bought the iMac a week ago. What's the fix?

Found this on another topic and it fixed my problem:
Re: AppleScript to make All-Day Events?
Feb 2, 2006 1:28 AM (in response to Roger Barre)
Hi Roger, This is fairly straighforward in Applescript. You could try something like the script below. Depending on the number of events in the calendar it's possible this could take time. The script should let you know when it's done. Just in case you don't like the result. Backup, just in case. In iCal go to File>Back up Database... and save your calendars. --Copy blue text into Script Editor (Applications > Applescript > Script Editor) , press Run and follow prompts. If you are happy with the results you could save it as an Application.
    tell application "iCal"
    -- Select calendar
set myCal to first calendar whose title is (item 1 of (choose from list (title of (every calendar) as list) with prompt "Choose calendar"))
    -- Loop through events
repeat with myEvt in events of myCal
-- Get start & end times of event
    set {startTime, endTime} to {start date of myEvt, end date of myEvt}
-- Check start and end hours & mins
    set hoursAndMins to {hours of startTime, minutes of startTime, hours of endTime, minutes of endTime}
-- See if start and end time are midnight, if so set to all day.
if hoursAndMins is equal to {0, 0, 0, 0} then set allday event of myEvt to true
    end repeat
display dialog "Done all day events"
    end tell Best wishes John

  • Shared Computer Outlook E-mail Accounts

I created a form with a custom e-mail submit button that sends the PDF form to the next approver that is selected by the user from a drop-down list. The form works correctly on computers that have only one Outlook e-mail account but the submit buttons do not work correctly when employess are sharing a computer (muliple Outlook e-mail accounts). Is there a way that when the Send By E-mail button is clicked, Outlook would, "ask" which account it should open?
    Edit:
IT was able to help me with proper terminology that may elaborate this issue a bit.  Many users may share the same computer, under the same windows login username.  To facilitate them being able connect to their individual email accounts, we setup Email Profiles by going into Control Panel > Mail (in Windows).  We cannot select a default profile so we check the box for "prompt for profile to be used", which should come into play whenever the users opens Outlook or hits a "mailto" or "send to email" button from another application.  The user will see a "choose profile" window appear and they can proceed to enter their username/password upon selection of their Email profile.  Adobe seems to skip the "choose profile" window and will instead choose the first email profile we created on the machine, and ask for its username & password.  Although one might think we could just put in the correct username and password, that does not work since Adobe (or perhaps windows) is trying to authenticate the wrong email account.

    Thanks-
Do you or does anyone else know of a way to use the MAPILogonEx function that is mentioned in the following Microsoft support page?  Perhaps it is hard-coded and not something that can be changed.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306962
    Particularly:
    Use the MAPILogonEx function
When you call the MAPILogonEx function without specifying a profile and by setting the MAPI_LOGON_UI flag, MAPI displays the profile creation wizard if no profiles are on the computer. If profiles exist, MAPI displays the Choose Profile dialog box. Click New to start the profile creation wizard. (Since we have profiles created, it should display the choose profile dialog).
    More information also found here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd296726(v=vs.85).aspx
I'm wondering if our form/adobe is currently using MAPI_PASSWORD_UI which would choose a default profile
