I used Chapura to convert my Palm data to Outlook.  it created duplicate files for over half of the entries, merged telephone numbers and ignored notes all together- it is a mess.
I now bought a MacAir and want to convert properly- how to best convert ALL the data I have (10 year's worth) in the Palm OS database to Outlook for Mac?
thanks for any help and leads on how to accomplish.

    On my Centro and computer (Windows 7) I have the Palm OS. I want to convert the data to Outlook. I saw the on computer Palm/PIM Conduit Sync/ Sych with Outlook. Will this do it or do I need other software. I want to covert all my data - contacts, calendar, notes, tasks. Thanks!

    Hello egarley, you have "Palm Desktop" on your computer, not PalmOS.
    The switch you have spotted will redirect all the data on your phone to Outlook at the next Hotsync.  It will not convert anything existing on your computer already.  Be sure to do an updated HotSync before activating this switch.
    Contacts and Calendar should transfer easily, but I'm not sure about Notes and Tasks.  (I don't use Outlook.)

    When you click on the HotSync Manager icon, you will immediately see the connection options.  Do not click "Setup".
    You should see "Local", "Local USB", "Network", etc.   If you using the USB port, "Local" should NOT be checked, and Local USB should have a check next to it.
    If you don't see "Local USB" as an option, then you need a newer version of Palm Desktop.  I suggest you follow the instructions given you above to rectify the script error you were getting.

    I have been trying to sync a Palm IIIc with my
    Powerbook which is currently running Tiger (I cannot
    run OS 9 at all).
    I bought the IIIc on eBay and it works flawlessly
    except for the fact that it won't sync. I can click
    on the hotsync square on the screen of the IIIc and
    get two options :
    1. Direct Serial
    or
    2. IR (Infrared) to PC/Handheld.
    It came with a cable that has the docking connection
    on one and and a dual splitter on the other - one
    lead has the serial (female) end and the other is a
    USB connector. I am able to charge it on the PB
    using the USB but likely only because it is a powered
    USB port.
    I have tried two different serial to USB adapters and
    so far, the Powerbook still is not seeing the IIIc.
    A friend is giving me a cradle from his old IIIe but
    it has a serial connection. I expect I will have the
    same problem with this cradle.
    Does anybody have any suggestions ?
    Is there an adapter that can be used with OS X/Tiger
    I have installed Palm Desktop 4.2.1 and have iSync.

    Hi,
    I have the same problem with my IIIc and powerbook G4 (no syncing with isync).I went ahead and bought the keyspan serial adaptor and still can't get the palm to sync. I also have desktop 4.2.1, running Tiger. I can get the palm to Hotsync with a PC via the standard serial port as well as the Keyspan serial adaptor to usb.

  • Getting my palm OS data onto outlook 2000

    Hi- I have recently gotten a Blackberry Pearl for my phone, and I want to move my data (calendar, contacts) from my palm Tungsten T3 over to the blackberry.  I think the only way to do this is through Outlook. However, I have always used the Palm OS desktop software.  How can I move the data into outlook so I can sync my blackberry with it?
    Thanks!

  • Palm Z22 and Outlook 2007

    I have been using my plam on a windows xp computer for awhile. Now I would like to sync the palm to outlook 2007 on same system.  The sync goes through but none of the data from the palm is in outlook and the data from outlook is not on the palm. I tried the outlook 2007 conduit and upgrading to 6.2
    But I can not merge the data.  Anyone have any thoughts?
    thanks
    Post relates to: Palm Z22

    You do not need the Outlook 2007 Conduits for the Z22 if you are using PD 6.2, they are built into PD6.2.
    Did you look in Hotsync manager and make sure the conduits are set to Outlook?
    You may want to look in start-programs-palm conduit sync and change the conduits to Outlook.

    Hello Palm_Treo_650 and welcome to the Palm forums.
    Why not simply switch the Palm Desktop conduits for the Outlook conduits?  If you click:
    Start > All Programs > Palm
    You should see a subfolder called PIM Conduit Sync or something similar.  In that folder there will be two icons: Sync with Outlook and Sync with Palm Desktop.  Click the Sync with Outlook icon to swap out the Palm Desktop conduits for Palm's Outlook conduits.  Then sync your Treo to load your data into Outlook.
    If you already have PIM data in Outlook, I would recommend that you export your data first in case you need to roll back your changes.

  • Sync problem with Palm IIIxe and outlook

    I am unable to sync my PalmIIIxe with Outlook 2007 on my PC running MS Vista Home premium 32 bit. The Palm IIIxe is using Palm OS 4.1 with Hotsync 4.0.  I have installed palm outlook 2007 conduits.
    I do not get any options to either set up or configure conduits from the desktop Hotsync manger 7.0.2.  When I first installed Palm Desktop by Access version 6.2.2 it asked if I wanted to sync with Palm desktop or Outlook, I chose outlook…..but it will not sync, although I have been able to load apps.
    Any ideas?

  • Hotsync does not update either Palm Desktop or Outlook

    I have had to move the hotsync of a Palm 270 and a Palm 650 to another computer  (Windows XP) because the primary computers for my wife and I are now on Windows 7.  The hotsync from the Palm 270 says that it backs up successfully (and the backup directory seems to be ok) but nothing shows up in either the Palm Desktop or Outlook.  I have changed the redirection to each one in turn.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Palm desktop 4.2.2 and that doesn't work.  I have installed 4.2.2 on a vanilla laptop that has not been used before for hotsync (has only Palm Desktop on it) and it still does hotsync successfully but nothing show on the Desktop.  I was able to hotsync the 650 previously to the Palm Desktop and then migrated it over to outlook using third party software.  The 650 data was then downloaded to the Treo 750 ok (Windows 6).
    Now I'm hoping to move the Treo 270 data to the Treo 650.  But I can't get the blankey-blank data to come up in either the Desktop or Outlook.  The Treo 270 is on its last legs and the clock is running for its demise.
    Any suggestions

    What version of Windows 7 are you on, 64-bit or 32-bit? There sre no drivers for 64-bit Win 7 available. You will never be able to sync by cable to this OS. There is work-around using bluetooth, but neither of these device have bluetooth. Also Windows 7 requires Palm Desktop 6.2.2 to work properly.

  • How can I convert a .dat to a .zip on a Mac?

    Hi -
    I friend wanted me to update his company's website which runs on a MS Exchange Server/Sharepoint set up.  He zipped all the html, jpeg, and assorted text files and attached that zip file to an email.  When I received it on my Mac it had been converted to a ".dat" file.  He tells me that this is the result of sending a zipped file over the MS Exchange Server mail system to a Mac. (Whatever happened to cross-platform?)
    Is there a Mac utility I can use to convert this dat file back to a zip file that I then can open on my Mac?
    TIA

    And now i want to convert all date format to YYYY/MM/DD , Is it possibile to do that ?

    data : test(10) type c.
    test = '2009/3/5' .

    Does SAP provide a standard function can convert the date format ?
    Thanks .

    Hi Dear
    You can try in this way :::
    data: ld_date_int type string.
    DATA : ld_string TYPE string.
    data : test(10) type c,
           ld_res1(4) TYPE c,
           ld_res2(2) TYPE c,
           ld_res3(2) TYPE c.
    DATA : ll_res2 TYPE i,
           ll_res3 TYPE i.
    test = '2009/03/5' .
    ld_date_int = test .
    ld_string = strlen( ld_date_int ).
    CASE ld_string.
      WHEN 10.
       WRITE : SY-SUBRC , LD_DATE_int.
      WHEN OTHERS.
        SPLIT ld_date_int at '/' INTO ld_res1 ld_res2 ld_res3 in CHARACTER MODE.
        ll_res2 = strlen( ld_res2 ).
        ll_res3 = strlen( ld_res3 ).
        IF NOT ll_res2 eq 2 and not ll_res3 eq 2.
          CONCATENATE: '0' ld_res2 INTO ld_res2.
          CONCATENATE: '0' ld_res3 INTO ld_res3.
          CONCATENATE ld_res1 '/' ld_res2 '/' ld_res3 INTO ld_date_int.
          WRITE : SY-SUBRC , LD_DATE_int.
        ENDIF.
        IF ll_res2 eq 2 and not ll_res3 eq 2.
          CONCATENATE '0' ld_res3 INTO ld_res3.
          CONCATENATE ld_res1 '/' ld_res2 '/' ld_res3 INTO ld_date_int.
          WRITE : SY-SUBRC , LD_DATE_int.
        ENDIF.
        IF NOT ll_res2 eq 2 and ll_res3 eq 2.
           CONCATENATE: '0' ld_res2 INTO ld_res2.
            CONCATENATE ld_res1 '/' ld_res2 '/' ld_res3 INTO ld_date_int.

  • How can i convert the data from mutiple-table to the other database(MSSQL)?

    Dears,
    How can i convert the data from mutiple-table to the other database such as MS-SQL?
    I have a third party system based on MS-SQL 2000.
    Now we want to make a integration between SAP R/3(Oracle) and SQL server.
    When my user releases the purchase order in R/3, the application we coded will convert the releated data to the temp database on the SQL server.
    But i don't know which tools will help me reach the purpose.  BAPI, LSMW, IDoc... ???
    Would anybody tell me which way is better and how to do?
    Thanks a lot!
    Kevin Wang

    Hello Kevin,
    The question to use which method depend on your detail requirements. If you use BAPI, you need to find which Bapi can provide the data you want. Bapi normally use as a function called by external system. So you need to develop an external program like VB/Java to call this Bapi and move it to SQL. LSMW is use when you want to upload data from an external system to SAP. So it does not serve your requirement. Idoc can be use to export data to an external system. Again like Bapi, you need to find what Idoc can provide the data you want. However, it does not any programming from the external system. If I were you, based on your requirements, I think writing an Abap program that read the data you want and download it to NT/SQL server will be faster and easier.
