Converting PDF to JPG changes HxW Ratio

I use powerpoint to create a slide that will ultimately be viewed on a large 16x9 digital picture frame. From powerpoint, I convert the slide to PDF and then, using Acrobat 9 pro, I export the file as a jpg. Depending on the computer I use, the HxW ratio changes in the final jpg. I have checked all of the preferences, settings and software versions. The only difference I can see is that one monitor is 16x9 while the other has a 4x3 ratio. Does the screen resolution of the computer I am using effect the outcome of the conversion process?

Bernd,
We only use this workflow because I originally create the PowerPoint files but, my assistant is the one that posts the images onto the 32" digital picture frame. In sending the files to her, I have been converting them to PDF so that she can post them even while I am on the road. Several of the files have multiple pages and can become rather large for email.

  • Converting PDF to Word changes the text to symbols. How to correct?

Hi. I'm using Acrobat XI Pro and converting PDF's to Word docs changes the main text to symbols. I've tried this several times and always get the same result. Any idea as to how to correct? Thanks.

Does the same thing happen if you select some text in the document, copy it
and then paste it to Word?
If so, then it's most likely a faulty font encoding.

  • Converting PDF to JPG using Acrobat XI Standard

I know I can convert a PDF into a JPG using Acrobat Pro but I'm wondering if I can do the same using Acrobat XI Standard.  The only thing I've read online is that Standard can convert PDFs into Excel, Word or Power Point docs.

Yes, you can do this with Acrobat XI Standard. The only export feature that is not available in Std. is the ability to convert to PowerPoint.

  • How to batch convert pdf to jpgs, crop to trim and save?

I'm trying to figure out how to take a couple of hundred PDFs, Crop them to trim, then convert them all to JPGs using any of the adobe programs.
In bridge I was able to Batch convert all the PDFs to JPGs but it wouldn't crop them to the trim also...
I thought I could use the Photoshop Image Processor to batch action crop and save them again but I always get one of two errors... "There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop." or "Please Specify a destination folder."
I don't know why this is coming up since I have it selecting the folders with the JPGs that I converted in Bridge and saving to another folder..
Does anyone know if I can do all of this at once? Or how I can somehow get this to work so that II don't have to open, crop and save for each individual file?

Corel's WP has not / does not use anything of Adobe's to create PDFs.
With Acrobat installed you can "file - print" WP files to the Adobe PDF virtual printer that is installed with Acrobat.
Perhaps an OS based "batch" printer job would be possible. Something for you to look into.
As well, if you have WP installed there may be something WP can do.
To learn of such you'd want to visit Corel's WP customer support.

  • Converting PDF to Jpg file

    hi
i am looking for an pure java api wich will convert pdf file into jpg.

If it is going to State Legislators I would highly suggest doing the PDF in a DVD-ROM folder. (I am sort of assuming these are pages of material, and not a bullet point type list.) It also lets them print things out and read them.
That being said, I find Motion does a nice job of making text. Export as self contained in a codec like Pro Res, then bring it into Compressor. Often CBR will give good results on text. even if you go that route, the PDfs in files may not be a bad idea....

  • How do i convert pdf to jpg in automator?

How do I convert a pdf to jpg in Automator?

Automator has a "Render PDF Pages to Images" action.
There's a wizard that pops up when you run Automator asking you to choose a template. The second template is "Application":
Applications are self-running workflows. Any files or folders dropped onto an Application will be used as input to the workflow.
    So:
    Open Automator
    Choose "Application"
Drag the "Render PDF Pages to Images" action onto the workflow
This action produces random filenames, so follow it with "Rename Finder Items" (choose "Make sequential" from the dropdown list
Then add a "Move Finder Items" to have the output files moved to the Desktop
    Save your new application somewhere
    Drag files onto it

  • How to convert PDF to jpg?

I have hundreds of multipage pdf documents that I would like to save out as jpg's files.
I know I can convert them individually but if anyone knows a program that could do this for me automatically that would be great

    Use Acrobat Pro.
With Acrobat Pro X use the "Action" facility to run a Batch Sequence.
Both Acrobat User Community (AUC) Learning Center [ http://acrobatusers.com/learning_center ]
and Adobe TV have tutorials on Actions. [ http://tv.adobe.com/product/acrobat/ ]
With Acrobat Pro 9.x or 8.x use the Batch Sequence facility.
There is an "out of the box" sequence for exporting PDF page content that is an image to JPEG.
Also, go into Acrobat Pro's Preferences to configure the PDF to JPEG to meet your needs.
Just point the Action / Batch Sequence a folder containing the PDFs, run it, wait, harvest the individual JPEGs.

  • Applescript to convert PDF to JPEG using Preview?

I know there's an existing script available on the internet that converts PDFs to JPEGs (it's here: http://macscripter.net/viewtopic.php?id=25350) BUT, for whatever reason, the quality, even when set to 600dpi, is crap. I get better results simply opening the PDF in Preview then saving as JPEG... even a 150dpi JPG from Preview is higher quality than a 600dpi file from this script I found...
So, what I need help with is creating a applescript that converts PDF's to JPEGs using Preview (or whatever, as long as the quality of the JPEG is good). I have very little scripting experience so help is appreciate.
    Ideas?
    Thanks.

Decided to finish this up as an interesting exercise. Hope you find it useful.
One question for the  Applescripters here. The Automator action run as a shell script seems to return a list of filename aliases but the return value while looking like a list didn't behave as a list. I managed to rip it apart to get to the filepaths and the script works but it seems really kludgey . So my question is given the return of the Automator run as a do shell script what is a more correct way to handle it?

Convert pfd files to jpg images.
The converted JPG files wil have the name of the original PDF files with the extension changed to JPG.
The actual conversion uses the Automator action Render PDF Pages as Images.
The user needs to create an Automator action with Render Pages as Images as the single action.
Set the parameters for the conversion in the action.
NOTE: this script assumes you're converting to jpg files If you select another output format in the action this script will
              need to be modified.
    -- choose PDF files
    try
set sourceFiles to choose file with prompt "Select PDF files" of type {"com.adobe.pdf"} with multiple selections allowed

    Hi Frank--
I tried the script you wrote and created the Automator workflow with the single action as requested, saved it to the desktop then selected it when your script's dialogue requested it. However, at that point your script game me the following error. Ideas? I did save the workflow as a workflow and I selected it directly, so I'm not sure why it thinks that the "workflow file does not exist" ? :
error "The workflow file does not exist. 255" number -2700 from «script» to item
