Converting photo taken by Ipad into JPEG format

I took a picture with my Ipad and I need to put it in JPEG format and  send it as an attachment to an email.  How do I  do that?

I'm new to iOS (iPad ver 7.1), so maybe I have this wrong, but consider this, before adding (yet another) app, just to change image formats coming from iOS. I don't think that's needed.  Two (strictly empirical :) observations
1- pictures (screen shots or Camera) generated on my iPad are stored in TWO iPad apps.  In the 'photos' app (camera roll) they are PNG, and if emailed, will arrive in PNG format.  BUT, if you view and/or email that SAME pic out of the iPhoto app, it's good old JPG.  Short version- I don't think there's and ipad setting to generate all pics in jpg, but that's moot if you work out of iPhoto.
2- if you receive the emailed PNG and want to change it, you can probably just change the suffix, from PNG to jpg. At least that's how it works ONI my Mac.
At least that's what my experimentation has shown me.

Here are links to four short MOV files showing the four orientations for the iPhone 4S. I had to upload them to DropBox for you as all of my available Cloud based mail programs choked on saving or sending these little video files.

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7584570/IMG_0064.MOV
I usually record hockey games in Landscape mode with the Home Button of the iPhone on the left side with the screen facing me. That is the mov file IMG_0063.MOV
Apple's QuickTime Player displays it correctly, while the VLC player, which ignores exif flags plays it upside down. So does the Plex Media streamer ignore the flag, so does the thunderbird mail app ignore the flag, and so on. Adobe looks at the exif flags so they get it right.
My movies are of four Post It Notes, each one describing the location of the Home Button. Take a series of four pictures oriented like my test MOV files , then take 4 short MOV files of the same iPhone orientation. If the results are "misoriented" then the software you are using to look at them is ignoring the orientation flages.
For more detail of this subject look at  http://www.impulseadventure.com/photo/exif-orientation.html
    JPEG Rotation and EXIF Orientation
Digital Cameras with orientation sensors allow auto-rotation of portrait images. Unfortunately, support for this feature is not widespread or consistently applied.
    Digital Cameras with Orientation Sensors
Many newer digital cameras (both dSLR and Point & Shoot digicams) have a built-in orientation sensor. Virtually all Canon and Nikon digital cameras have an orientation sensor. The output of this sensor is used to set the EXIF orientation flag in the image file's metatdata to reflect the positioning of the camera with respect to the ground. Canon calls their sensor the "Intelligent Orientation" sensor. It is presumably a 2-axis tilt sensor, allowing 4 possible orientations to be detected (shown in the left side of the diagram in the link above).

Is there anyway to convert video taken by ipad and burn it to a DVD that can play on DVD player?

    Persius,
Nearly every DVD that will play on a set-top player *should* play on a computer, provided two things:
1.) the computer has a DVD player that can handle that flavor of DVD media, DVD RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD DL, etc.
2.) the computer has a software player installed. This feature has been removed from some common media players. You may need to locate, download and install a separate software player.
There could be another discussion on interlaced vs progressive scan media, but I'll let you ask that question.

How To Save Screen Shot Photo From iPAD to JPEG FORMAT

The "iPad format" is PNG (which is better quality than JPEG).
There is no way to choose JPEG at the moment of taking the screen shot. You will need to convert the file using conversion software, probably on your computer. Google "convert PNG to JPEG".

  • Converting a result of query into XML format

    Hi,
I am going to use DBXML,DBBOM and DBXSL
ie PLSXML utilities to convert the records returned after querying the data into XML format. Is it possible to do this using these packages?
Should i use Oracle SQL XML Utility?
    Which would be better?

I've used both utilities and I personally like the concept of SQL Utility. I'm still
having some problem with encoding issues
but it seems a better tool to use with Java.
If I'm just going to be using PL/SQL, I'll
use PLSXML utilities. Note that PLSXML does
not support SAX nor will XSQL servlet work
    with it.

  • New photos taken on iPad Mini (gave it to my sister, she's in other town) appeared in my iPhone photos album?

Last month I gave my sister my iPad Mini, cause she's on university and in other town far away from me.
Then last night I saw some new photos on my iPhone 5s which were obviously not taken by me,  I would know if they were. So I called my sister and asked her if she's been taking photos with iPad, she said yes, and I was feeling kinda confused. My iCloud settings were on iPad.
Does iCloud work that way?? Transfering photos from one town to another? Is that possible?

she must have your icloud account still logged in
have her go into setting, icloud, and see if your email is on there. if you want to keep your email on there just turn off photo stream.

  • Converting Photos taken on a 16:9 aspect camcorder?

    Hi,
I've taken quite a few pictures using my camcorder which is set to 16:9 aspect ratio which is exactly what I want for my video.
However the pictures also seem to be on taht ratio and look strange in iphoto.
Does anypone know of an app that will convert them to a nice looking ratio for iphoto? I have hundreds so I need to convert in batch.
    Thanks,
    Steve

Cropping is the only way. Crop to 3:2 for DLSR and 35mm ratio photos or 4:3 for point and shoot camera ratio
You can not "change" a 16:9 photo to any other ratio except by cropping

  • How to make a copy of photos taken on iPad camera?

I've only just got an iPad so forgive me if this is really basic but I want to make a copy of a photo I have taken with the camera on the iPad so I can edit one but still have the original. I've tried copy image but it doesn't seem to do anything, I'm not sure if it saves it somewhere else or it's just a copy and paste function?

What you are doing is a copy and paste function. After you copy the photo, it is placed on the iPad clipboard - which is invisible and cannot be accessed. The photo will remain in the clipboard until you copy something else which will replace the photo.
What app are you using for editing? I use PhotoPad for a little bit of editing and when I edit the photo and save it, it does not replace the original photo.

  • Converting a Java style date into useful format

If I am calling a web service that returns a Java style date as a numeric value, such as 1177651563767 (milliseconds since 1 Jan 1970), how can I display this as a human readable date (hh:mm:ss dd-mm-yyyy? I have looked at the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/40/a228173435437394f54c56de571ca4/frameset.htm">SAP help pages on date functions</a> and the
<a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/DateandTime+Formats">wiki page on date and time formats</a>, but neither seems to help.
My Java date is a numeric.
    Thanks

    Hi Michael,
you can call the webservice with another webservice or an RFC and then use Java or ABAP to convert the value into the right format. My opinion is as you mentioned that there is no way with VC. Maybe you can use a time function (DADD as it is described <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/40/a228173435437394f54c56de571ca4/frameset.htm">here</a> and sum up to 01/01/1970 your [value in seconds]/60 this should work, but I never tested it.
Maybe this works, but this isn't a good solution anyway.
    Best Regards,
    Marcel
