Converting Powerpoint into Fully Accessable PDFs (Updated and Corrected)

I am trying to create a PDF of a PowerPoint file with full accessibility with no errors. I am currently using Microsoft Office 2010, and checking the web accessibility with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
Advanced>Accessibility>Full Check
However when I bring it over to PDF from PowerPoint, none of the images retain or register as having alternate text. As being a PowerPoint, I find that a lot of the images that don't need alternate text, such as the various segments of the background, register as requiring alternate text. I have tried actually following the prompts and giving alternate text to some images, but they still register as not having any.
Can anyone please help?

I believe you are the Adobe Forums administrators so I thought you guys are the right people to approach.
OTHERS ARE ALSO INVITED TO COMMENT ON THIS TOPIC.
I have C# desktop app which generates Excel files and our goal is to convert these excel files one at a time into password protected PDF files. We use a 3rd party software currently, but I am challenging myself into saying that I can use Adobe Acrobat 9.0 SDK to achieve what is required .
I have downloaded Acrobat 9.0 SDK and also have Adobe Professional 8.0(trail) in my development machine. Can you firstly tell me if this is possible and secondly what would be required on the client machines to run it?

"Encrypt with Password" is the policy name, not the policy id.
Did you try enumerating the policy object to see how to set it up? I ran this from the console to get the policy details:

That will pop up your list of policies. Choose "Encrypt with Password" and hit Apply, which returned the following:
policyId: SP_STD_default
name: Encrypt with Password
description: This policy will allow you to set an open or modify password on a document.
handler: Adobe.Standard
target: document
Of course, all you really need are the policyId, handler and target. Make sure you read and thoroughly understand the security requirements documented in the API reference for this method as well.

I plugged my Iphone 4S into my computer to update it via Itunes and now it says I have to restore to factory settings and will lose all of my contacts, photos, and applications I have downloaded. All I was really wanted to do was delete photos that uploaded from my home computer and took up all the space on my phone! GRRRR I hate this

If you are using the iphone as designed then you should lose very little or nothing.
You should be syncing contacts with your computer regularly, so all of your contacts should be on your computer and you can sync them back.
You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any attempt to update.
You should be transferring all purchases made on your iphone to your computer: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

I can't fully access the iTunes store. In iTunes, I can't view graphics on the main page; the text is not formatted; links result in a message that an unkonwn error has occurred (-1202).

Yuk, this one seems to be a windows issue IIRC.

Converting PowerPoints 22"x22" to PDF

For the obvious reasons, small file size and universal transportability, we're trying to document our products with .pdf files. Understandably, the simplifications neccessary for these benefits may come with some restrictions.
New drawing generation packages output directly into .pdf format. Because of the intricate nature of the drawing content, the standard drawing size has already been decided on as 22" x 34"- a standard D size drawing.
Old drawings from old drawing generation packages (already 22" by 34") have been scanned (.tif format), and can be converted to .pdf format. This is the largest size that can be scanned on a 22" scanner, and the files come in as portrait format.
In an attempt to edit the scanned drawings I read a 22"x34" portrait .tif into my Microsoft Powerpoint package. I have the ability to set the Powerpoint document "page size" to either a 34" wide, 22" high landscape document, or a 22" wide, 34" high portrait document. Unfortunately, when I invoke the Adobe PDF conversion tool, regardless of the condition of a myriad of settings, or whether in the portrait or landscape mode, the image is either reduced or cropped to a maximum length of 22" .
According to Adobe tech notes 328610 and 328620, page size may not be retained with the standard source application-located Adobe PDF converter. It was recommended that I create a virtual printer loaded with the universal PostScript printer driver, and first print the Powerpoint document to a Postscript file (.prn, or .ps), and then convert to .psd with the Adobe tool. Unfortunately, regardless of the condition of a myriad of settings, or whether in the portrait or landscape mode, the image is either reduced or cropped to a maximum length of 22" (the width of standard office printers).
I can take the original 22" wide, 34" high portrait .tif image, rotate it in Microsoft's Picture Viewer, edit it in Microsoft's Paint and then print the file to the virtual printer with the PostScript printer driver and create a .prn or .ps file, which when opened with the Adobe tool makes a perfect 34"wide, 22" high PDF file.
Is there any way to take advantage of Powerpoint's vast editing ability and the Adobe PDF conversion tools with drawings greater than 22" by 22"?

Thanks for responding Bill. Setting page size in the Adobe PDF virtual printer is the point of the Adobe tech notes 328610, and 328620. Unfortunately, this isn't working for me above 22" by 22". Si if you want to try this yourself, create a simply drawing, say a rectangle in PowerPoint, but first set the PowerPoint page size to 22" by 22" in File/Page Setup/Custom. Print to a PostScript file and convert to PDF. See if you get the whole rectangle, and check the size of the PDF in properties. Then make the Powerpoint page and rectangle larger in one direction and do the same thing. I'm afraid the image will now be cropped or distorted.

Convert Pages into good quality PDF.

Hi,
I just made a poster in Pages. I converted the file to PDF by using the option: Share > Send by Mail > PDF.
Had never done it before, and don't know much about it, but it turned out great. I sent it to a publisher for printing. But he couldn't use the PDF file because it did not have a good enough quality. The file size is about 500 kB when the Pages size is 3,7 MB.
Is there a better way to get the pages file converted to PDF at the best quality?

Presumably the problem is that the poster includes one or more photographic images. A photographic image is a pattern of picture elements, technically termed pixels.
The pattern of picture elements has a particular density, defined at a point in the process before the photographic image is imported into the pagination software, in this case Apple Pages.
The density of a pattern of picture elements is measured by the number of picture elements across and the number of picture elements down in a square inch. The density is referred to as the resolution or DPI Dots Per Inch.
A display is not able to draw higher densities and usually resolution of around 100 DPI; higher resolutions are downsampled automatically. Thus there is no benefit to adding resolution if the drawing target is displays only.
A large format inkjet is able to draw at resolutions of around 1000 dots per inch and a prepress imagesetter is able to draw at still higher resolutions. If there is insufficient resolution, image detail is insufficient.
Because of sophisticated algorithms for creating pixel clusters of sufficient size to print on a press, and separated into the four process colourants, it is a bit dicey to define the universally right resolution.
Stochastic screening does not need as high resolution for visually satisfactory detail as some aproaches to screening, but in any case what the printer probably meant was that the image resolution should be increased.
Try importing an image resolution of 300DPI for colour images. This should work well in most cases.

I want to convert webpages into an Adobe pdf (I have Adobe Acobat 9 installed). Also how do you add to Firefox Menu "Convert pdf"

In Internet Explorer, I am able to install into the menu tool bar - Convert to pdf. Can I do the same with Firefox.
Secondly, when I tried to print to "Adobe pdf", the page does not fully represent the webpage?

See if Adobe has a PDF Toolbar extension for Firefox.

Ipad App Store said "20" updates. I attempted to update w/3G. Now many apps say "Waiting" and are frozen. When I go online and plug into computer it just updates and doesn't address the individual apps, which still say "Waiting" and are frozen.

iPad App Store app said "20 updates". Attempted to update w/3G. Updated some, but now many apps say "waiting" and are frozen. I attempted to update then by attaching to computer Itunes Store. All it did was very quickly go thru the 4 steps and said, "Synched, OK to uplug." I clicked my ipad and then apps. It also said Update complete (or something like that). Now several apps on iPad are frozen and say "Waiting". Help!!

Oh a few other things I forgot.
The long winded back-ups!!!! JESSSSSSH! Although I think the latest update seems to have bit into this a bit.
Also why is it that sometimes when the iPhone is syncing it will not say on the actual iPhone that it is syncing. I see it's syncing in iTunes but the iPhone doesn't have the typical do not disconnect -syncing message!!! What's odd is I can see the new apps being updated to the iPhone and as long as I don't open any apps it will finish it's sync but the minute I open any apps the iPhone will lock-up!!!
