Converting problems with my N96

does anyone know which programme to use so that I can load videos and watch them on my N96? I tried converting the file to mp4, and just use media transfer/file transfer, but it either converts it into a mp3 or it saves it as just a file which cant be opened. The same happens when I use PC suite, it either stops halfway throu conversion, converts it into a mp3 or just saves it as a file as mentioned above.
Please could someone help me. I've checked all my setting and nothng seems to be wrong.

the following works on the n95 8gb so should work on the 96
hi try this
go to www.divxmobile.com
download the mobile player to your pc (s60 version)
it will ask you to trans to your phone so obv you need to do this.
now also download the divx converer too.(its free for 30 days so shrink all your films quickly)
on the convereter select........MOBILE..... not qmobile .
add your films to the converter and select convert.
yes long winded but you only need do it once.
your films will now be found in the divx movie folder on your pc.
conect phone to pc and do the following.
start/mt computer/nokia/mass memory/videos
just drop your shrank films here.
open the divx player on your phone and enjoy.

none of the two do not. I tried to change and sim card but do so with and without sim card. I have not installed anything on it from what I have since bought. I was in service (notnokia service) and told me that i have nothing to do. but I still do not understand why he does so. I did not hit me rather than I have done nothing. The charged battery a fullcharge when it is off but when you start stay 10 seconds ON and then restart. The nokia service center told me that you must leave them three months and they could not tell mehow much it costs me or what has the phone.

Cp-1251 utf-8 converting: problems with russian letters

Hello every one!
I have faced a major problem in cp-1251 to utf8 string convertion (in Windows):
String result2 = new String(result.getBytes("utf8"), Charset.forName("cp-1251"));Everything works fine, but there is a problem with russian letter И (10th letter in the alphabeth).
cp-1251 byte code of И is 200
The right byte code for И in utf-8 is : 208 152, but I recieve the byte code 208 63 for И. So there must be some mistake.
So, when i try to read this string, i face a problem with wrong utf-8 charset...
I tried this code on Debian, everything works fine.
I will be glad if you are capable of helping me.

Your code makes no sense.
You're taking a String and asking for it to be turned into a stream of bytes according to the UTF-8 character encoding. And then you're giving these bytes back and asking to have them interpreted back into characters using the CP-1251 character encoding. This is bound to fail, because the bytes aren't in CP-1251 - they're in UTF-8 as you requested.
The very concept of changing the character encoding of a String is meaningless. Strings in Java are represented in Unicode. It's only when you convert to and from bytes (using the two methods you've used) that you worry about encoding/decoding.
So, why not describe what you're actually trying to achieve?

Converting problems with QT file!

I have a few Quicktime MOV files that I want to send a friend who owns a PC. The problem is - he gets audio but NO video (black screen) when he tries to play or convert these files with any of his software. I tried to convert the file on my Mac using Xilisoft Video Convertor, but I have the same results when I try to convert the files to Divx, AVI, MP4 or any other format. I can ONLY see the video when I play the original MOV file in Quicktime. Any suggestions?

an H264 exported from QT is a safe way to go for windows play back-its a daily occurance here

Please help with some problems with my N96

I have spent a fair bit of money on my Nokia N96 and unfortunately it is out of its warranty etc.And I have few issues with it.
So can anyone advise me as to how about I can overcome some issues:
Firstly, in my message inbox only the numbers display instead of the names (e.g.. +447770260.. Instead of Peter), has anyone had this issue or can help with this? I have gone into the message setting and nothing sticks out and says click me for number or name to be displayed.
Secondly, the vibrating device doesn't seem to work at all some days and other days it seems fine? Is this a common fault or is it my phone. Also, is there anywhere on the phone to adjust the vibrating force which maybe getting in the way?
Many thanks for any advise or for merely looking, and grateful for any help.

read the above thread in regards to the contacts issue. it is a common issue for the s60 phones no fix as yet and it has been few years now.
there is no way you can adjust the vibration force. its either on or off. the vibration should work at all times if you have it set to work. it should not be random. you might want to take it to nokia care for them to have a look at it despite the fact that it is out of warranty.

Problem with Nokia N96 handsfree HS-45, AD-54

I've had a Nokia N96 for about 2 months now and all the time whenever I play music using both parts of the headset, the music only plays through the left earphone. But when I remove the remote control, then the music plays through both. Any ideas on how to fix this?

It looks like you have a faulty remote.
That part should be covered by a six month warranty so take it to a nokia care point and they should replace it.

Acrobat 11 Pro - problem with right-click "Convert to Adobe PDF" output folder

I'm migrating from one machine running Windows XP Pro with Acrobat 8 Pro to Windows 7 Pro with Acrobat 11 Pro.
On the XP machine, when I right-click on a document and select "convert to Adobe PDF" the process works just fine - it always outputs the file to the target destination I have set in the Adobe PDF printer definition.
On the Windows 7 Pro/Acrobat 11 Pro machine, the exact same settings are ignored: the PDF will always end up in the same folder as the source file.
Both the source folder and the destination folder are on one of my office's networked drives.
Under the Printing Preferences, I have the output folder address set the same on both machines, so it *should* go to the right location on the new machine.
Oddly enough, on the Acrobat 11 Pro machine, if I select Adobe PDF as the default printer and do a test print, it *does* print to the correct folder!
This has got me stumped!

(update from later in the day)
If Adobe PDF is selected as the default printer, I *can* select a bunch of documents, right-click, select "print", and Word will open up, and they'll print to the correct target folder.
So, it's "just" the right-click "Convert to Adobe PDF" that doesn't work correctly.

The reinstall is typically the last ditch effort to do. The first step is Help>Repair and Help>Updates. As far as Office 2013, the PDF Maker of AA X is not compatible and you can only print. In your list of errors it showed a problem with AcroTray.exe. As a first step, go to the print and select print-to-file. The file will be a PS file (maybe with a PRN extension). Once the printer if finished, open the file in Distiller to complete the process. If that is successful, then the problem is with AcroTray. Check your running tasks to be sure AcroTray is indeed running. If not, that is likely the problem. If it is, then restart it (it is located in the Acrobat folder). AcroTray provides the interface between the PS creation and Distiller to automate the process of creating the PDF.

Problem with Nokia Music Manager 2.0 converting mp...

Hi everyone!
I have a problem using the Nokia Music Manager 2.0. I want to convert some mp3-files into "Mobile Optimized Format". If a start conversion it fails and says Track cannot be converted because it is already in the target format or file format is not supported. However, the files worked on my previous computer with WinXP. Now I'm using Vista Business. The conversion will always proceed to 50% and break then. I have the feelng it's a problem with the rights to write the new file. Running it with administrative rights or in compatibility mode did not either.
Can anyone provide help?

i'm having the same problem... ever since nokia upgraded pc suite a few months ago, and i had to get a new version due to a problem with my computer, i can't put music onto my phone using the music manager 2.0. so i've been just copying them in their mp3 formats but of course it's alot more space that could be saved if i could have them in the AAC+ pr M4A formats.
i checked out download.com (they offer alot of free to try and free in general programs) and i searched for mp3 to m4a
i found this program " Abcc Free Music to MP3 AMR AAC OGG Converter 3 "
I downloaded it, which only took maybe 5 minutes, and then installed it (another maybe 2-3 minutes)
I'm trying the program now and.... IT WORKS.
i just converted about 6 pm3's to m4a's and it took about 3-4 minutes. try it !

Adobe X PDF files converted to jpg, edited and converted back to PDF have ragged, unclear text. I didn't have this problem with Acrobat 9 standard. What is the remedy for this. If this is the best I can expect, I won't be able to use X standard.

I can't imagine any worse workflow than converting to JPEG to edit text, then back to PDF. Text in a PDF is a vector thing, smooth at all resolutions. And JPEG is made for photos. EVERY conversion to JPEG and back loses quality but how much loss there is will vary.
If you must go to an image format, try PNG.

Problems with Pages 5 docs converting to Word docs

It seems with the new upgrade on my MacBook Air, I have a glitch. Now when I convert a Pages doc to Word, the page breaks get removed and the doc turns into a sea. Also, I sent this new Word doc to my Kindle to upload into ebook form (never had a problem with Pages 09 previously, always came out beautifully) and now the doc turns into a digitally mangled mess. Any ideas?? Thank you.

Usually when it does that it is because there is an XML table somewhere buried in there and either the table width or margin indents are forcing the text far left.
Hard to pin down the problem with being able to examine the actual file contents.
…and Pages 5 is buggy.
So why don't you just use Pages '09? It works.

Problem with subsequent deltas after converting Full requests to Repair.

Hi All,
We are working on changing an existing system from loading from multiple extractors directly to a cube to loading each extractor to its own DSO and then combining the data in a 'consolidated' DSO and then on the the cube.
To avoid downtime in the production system when we do the cut-over we have decided to do full loads of historical data up to Sept 2007 and then do delta loading from then on.
So the steps so far have been:
1) Full load of data to low-level DSO's. to 09 2007.
2) Full load of data to 'consolidated' DSO.
3) Convert Full requests in consolidated DSO to Repair Full Requests (see SAP Note 689964).
4) Initialise Without Data Transfer to the 'consolidated' DSO.
5) Delta Initialise from 10 2007 from the source system to the low-level DSO's.
6) Delta from low-level DSO to consolidated DSO.
My problem is with step 6 - no records are loaded into the consolidated DSO after delta load of data to the low-level DSO - the load process runs correctly but tells me that there was no data available.
Can anybody see if there is a problem with my approach - I thought this was the correct way to convert from full loading to delta loading ?

Since write-optimized DataStore objects do not have a change log, the system does not create delta (in the sense of a before image and an after image). When you update data into the connected InfoProviders, the system only updates the requests that have not yet been posted.
In my case the 'new' request loaded into the DSO have not been loaded into the connected InfoProvider, so it should be processed.

1st problem trying to convert mpeg video thru ipod converter. I have successfully converted DVD`s and other downlaoded videos but this is the 1st time i ran into a wall.
I am using GSPOT CODEC software and it says its a "riff- wrapped " file. When I open up Videora converter it doenst do anything meaning no green bars to show its progressing into mpeg4 format. It does finish and it goes to finish videos but when I try to manually put it in my I-tunes it doenst do anything. Why i am posting this. I am frustrated. WHAT -and it appears to be mpeg - the heck is RIFF wrapped file? Please help I have GUNS n ROSES live at ritz 1988 rare footage andI want it on my ipod and It does play in my windows media player so its a true video with sound

Problem with converted PDF from OTF

im having a problem with character interpretation in PDF document when i convert it from OTF.
At the moment im using Arial true type font in my smartform, im using function module CONVERT_OTF to convert OTF to PDF.
When i open PDF document with Adobe reader it looks fine, but the problem is when im trying to convert PDF file to other format for example PNG, or trying to copy and paste text from PDF document.
im getting Klaipìda instead of Klaipėda, it seems that baltic symbol "ė" is interpreted like "ì", other baltic symbols are interpreted as they should, there is problem only with character "ė".
have anyone faced that kindof problem? or maybe anyone know the solution for this problem? if so please tell me.

Did you check the fonts installed in your system,,,
As PDF is a unchangeable format, it doesnt depend upon the installed fonts in the system,,
but when you copy, you need some fonts in system,, if not you will get the same problem,,,
