Converting RAW to jepeg and then file missing
I've been converting pictures from raw to jpeg and copying for transfer onto usb. After transfer I try to open the file in the organizer and it's missing
A lot more details are needed here.
What version of PSE? What operating system?
How are you doing the conversion?
How are you copying onto USB? Are you sure you are doing a "copy" and not a "move"? And are you doing this to the RAW or the JPG (or both)?
After transfer I try to open the file in the organizer and it's missing
Which file are you trying to open in the Organizer? The RAW or the JPG? Sounds like you did a "move" and not a "copy".

Convert playlist to aiff and then find the files in iTunes
I have a playlist of 28 songs that are various file types. I would like to convert them to aiff. I went to the playlist and selected all, right clicked and selected Create aiff version. It made them but I have to search for each one and then put it in a new playlist.
Is there a way to make iTunes put them in one folder or a better way to gather them all to the new playlist then clicking on Music on the left and putting the title in the search box and dragging them one by one to the new playlist?
Thanks for any tipsstpedler wrote:

For what purpose?
All this does is increase the file size.
Sort the list by descending Date Added and they will be at the top of the list. -
Convert Cisco WebEx .WRF and .ARF files for Mac OSX to .WMV

Hi Ben,
Here is a copy/paste from the Arcsoft site:
What is a PHB file?
Question
What is a PHB file?
Answer
PHB files are proprietary album files used by some of our programs, namely PhotoBase. Albums do not store your images. They serve as links to files stored on your computer or removable drive. If you delete the original file, the thumbnail in the album basically becomes a dead link. For example, if you have files on a floppy disk and create an album, you'll always need to have that floppy in the drive whenever you want to view the full images. Likewise, if you have a digital camera that is read as a removable drive, you would need to have it connected if you create the album directly from the camera. The best thing to do is copy all of your images into a folder on your computer, then create the album referencing those files. Albums are useful because they let you preview and organize files on your system in a convenient fashion. It is also from albums that slide shows are made with some of our programs. -
is there a program that I can download for downloading and converting videos from you tube (need to be in the format AVI ) and then putting them onto a cd I havant a clue on how to do this as I have just got the apple and its way different from normal computers any help.
Did you look in your downloads folder? If you are using Safari to download then look at Safari - Preferences - General and look in where it says Save downloaded files to. If you have left it to the defaults download folder you will find that under ~/downloads the ~ means your home folder. You can find that in Finder.
I know you are to OS X so you are probably just unlearning some old bad habits. I'd recommend book marking and using:

Safari bounces and then files a problem report repeatedly, but doesn't open
Hello and thank you for reading this,
I have seen several other posts about the same problem, but the suggested solutions don't work for me.
When I try to open safari it bounces for a bit but then tells me that "safari quit unexpectedly" and even though I have sent a problem report several times it doesn't help.
The problem details it shows are:

Error while converting Image -to- PDF and then to PDF/A
Hi,
I'm trying to convert a Image format(JPEG,bmp, tiff) to PDF and then to PDF/A. I could able to convert Image to PDF successfully.
I'm getting the below error while converting the PDF(that was generated) to PDF/A.

Please give me the solution to convert PDF to PDF/A?I've just read a footnote in the API documentation which indicates that the transformPDF function cannot be used for this purpose:
"GS_Enterprise said on Nov 24, 2007 at 12:03 PM :
Please note that the parameter "inPdfDoc" for transformPDF assumes that the stream content is an XFA-based PDF, and that it's not an XFA-based PDF with a PDF background (also known as "XFA foreground"). In other words, this function does not convert any input PDF to PDF/A, but only those PDFs generated from an XFA template which does not include any static PDF content as a background." -
Name of .crl and .crt file missing from HTTP URL in certificate details
Hello Everyone,
I am in the process of building a 2-tier Windows Server 2012 R2 PKI. The CA name of both the offline standalone root CA and enterprise subordinate CA have spaces in it (we'll call the CA name, 'Test Lab Root CA' for point of reference).
When I submitted the certificate request for the subordinate CA to the root CA and viewed the attributes/extensions of the pending request, I noticed the HTTP URL is missing the name of the .crt and .crl file.
The AIA extension reads URL=http://test.domainname.com/pki/.crt
in the issued certificate details.
The CDP extension reads URL=http://test.domainname.com/pki/.crl
in the issued certificate details.
The AIA and CDP location HTTP URLs are configured as http://test.domainname.com/pki/<CertificateName>.crt and http://test.domainname.com/pki/<CRLNameSuffix><DeltaCRLAllowed>.crl, respectively on the
root CA.
The LDAP URL shows the .crt and .crl file name (with %20 replacing the spaces) perfectly fine. The LDAP URL is configured using variables as well. It's just the HTTP URL that is missing the name of the file altogether.
I have read about the issue where spaces are not being replaced with %20 in the URL on Windows Server 2012 and a hotfix is available for that issue. But this issue seems to be slightly different and I'm running Windows Server 2012 R2. I tried installing
the hotfix to see if it would help, but the hotfix can't install because it doesn't apply to Server 2012 R2.
I've been trying to find a technet discussion or blog article for a week to see if anyone has seen this and what the fix is, but I'm coming up empty. I only find talks about %20 not replacing the space in the name.
Does anyone have any insight to my particular issue? I don't want to issue the subordinate CA certificate until I know the HTTP URL populates the CRL and CRT file name correctly. I can get around this by typing out the name of the file (with spaces and not
%20... e.g. http://test.domainname.com/pki/Test Lab Root CA.crl) in the URL via the registry and the URL displays the name of the file (with %20 in the name) when I do another certificate request and check the attributes/extensions in the
pending request. However, I prefer to avoid manually typing out the name of the file in the registry. I'd like to use the variables if at all possible.
Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.On Fri, 27 Mar 2015 03:42:28 +0000, Brian Komar [MVP] wrote:
You have totally messed up the URLs.
If you run certutil -getreg ca\CRLPublicationURLs and certutil -getreg ca\CACertPublicationURLs, you will see that you do not have correct use of variables when compared to the settings that follow:
The URLs should be set to the following for an offline CA:
certutil -setreg CA\CRLPublicationURLs "1:%WINDIR%\system32\CertSrv\CertEnroll\%%3%%8%%9.crl\n2:http://test.domainname.com/pki/%%3%%8%%9.crl"
*certutil -setreg CA\CACertPublicationURLs "1:%WINDIR%\system32\CertSrv\CertEnroll\%%1_%%3%%4.crt\n2:http://*test.domainname.com*/pki/%%1_%%3%%4.crt"*
For an issuing CA, they should be set to:
The URLs should be set to the following for an offline CA:*certutil -setreg CA\CRLPublicationURLs "65:%WINDIR%\system32\CertSrv\CertEnroll\%%3%%8%%9.crl\n6:http://test.domainname.com/pki/%%3%%8%%9.crl"*
*certutil -setreg CA\CACertPublicationURLs "1:%WINDIR%\system32\CertSrv\CertEnroll\%%1_%%3%%4.crt\n2:http://**test.domainname.com**/pki/%%1_%%3%%4.crt"*
Just a clarification here, if you're running the above certutil commands at
the command prompt you only need single % characters in the command line.
The double % characters are only required if the commands are being run in
a batch file.

Convert string to datetime and then use in a where clause
I am trying to pull in warranty expiry dates that have been entered as strings and then perform a calculation as to which ones are expired, about to expire within
90 days or will expire in more than 90 days. I have got the query to a point where I have converted it to a datetime field (though I'm sure I used the right value to just give me the date, its giving me date and time) and have it printing out the machine name
and the warranty for that machine.
SELECT
machNameTab.machName
,convert(date,auditRsltManualFieldValues.fieldValue,103) AS warranty
FROM
machNameTab
INNER JOIN auditRsltManualFieldValues
ON machNameTab.agentGuid = auditRsltManualFieldValues.agentGuid
WHERE
machNameTab.groupName = N'root.company'
AND auditRsltManualFieldValues.fieldNameFK = 958472722796011
What I need to do next is change this so instead of just spitting out all the dates as 'Warranty', I want it to give me the fields 'Expired', 'Expiring' (expiry date is within 90 days of the current date) and 90Days (expiry date is over 90 days from the current
date)SELECT
machNameTab.machName
,convert(date,auditRsltManualFieldValues.fieldValue,103) AS warranty,
select
case
when datediff(day,getdate(),convert(date,auditRsltManualFieldValues.fieldValue,103) )<90 then 'Expiring'
when datediff(day,getdate(),convert(date,auditRsltManualFieldValues.fieldValue,103) )<0 then 'Expired'
when datediff(day,getdate(),convert(date,auditRsltManualFieldValues.fieldValue,103) )>=90 then '90Days'
end as status
FROM
machNameTab
INNER JOIN auditRsltManualFieldValues
ON machNameTab.agentGuid = auditRsltManualFieldValues.agentGuid
WHERE
machNameTab.groupName = N'root.company'
AND auditRsltManualFieldValues.fieldNameFK = 958472722796011
I added a case to your select. The case will output the strings you wanted based on the date. -
Upload and Manage Files missing from Tools area
We are attempting to set up a new iTunes U site but have hit a roadblock when we get to the point of uploading content. All the instructions say to click on the "Upload and Manage Files" link in the Tools section of the iTunes page, but we have no such link:
END EDITING
EDIT ACCESS
iTunes U SUPPORT
LOGOUT
Looking at screenshots from other sites, it looks like it should be between END EDITING and iTunes SUPPORT somewhere. We have only two users registered and we are both Administrators with full edit and upload privileges as far as we can tell.
What are we missing here? Were you ever able to get this resolved? We have the same issue.
Resolved, yes, to a point. After doing some extensive reading, I was able to determine that our fatal assumption was that the podcast media files would be hosted by Apple. According to at least one source, Apple has not offered hosting to new iTunesU accounts since January 2009.
Therefore, the reason we did not have a button for "Upload and Manage Files" is because there was no place for us to upload them to.
I have successfully attached feeds from both MobileMe and Podamatic and we are in the process of setting up our OS X Server with Podcast Producer. We will host the feeds locally and make them available through iTunes U, blogs and other channels.

ID CS2 Mac system fonts and CMap files missing
I have ID CS2 for Mac. I recently had some trouble uninstalling a trial version of After Effects CS3, so I used a script provided by Adobe that is for removing troublesome files and apps. Now, when I try to start InDesign CS2, I get an error message almost immediately that says "Adobe InDesign is missing required system fonts or CMap files. Please reinstall InDesign." Does anyone know what fonts and CMap files are needed by ID, and where they should go (in which directories/folders)? I don't want to have to reinstall the entire program. All the other CS2 apps work fine and I don't want to upset the apple cart (pardon the pun). I haven't trashed any of the files that the script uninstalled...they are in a folder on my desktop, so I can just put back what ID needs, as long as I know where they go.
Thank you!By running the script it removed all Adobe-installed stuff. This included removing the "Reqd" folder in this path: Library > Application Support > Adobe > Fonts. InDesign CS2 expects that folder to be there. You could copy the folder from another computer, or do a reinstall on InDesign

How to view folders with folders first and then files?
I come from a Windows world but am loving the Mac world! But one thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to view folders with all the folders first and then the files? Right now, it sorts everything in alphabetical order, intermixing the folders and files. I like being able to see the folders sorted at the top and then the files. Is there a way to do this?
If you want a more advanced browser, Pathfinder generally comes highly recommended.
I'm not aware of a way to make folders sort on top. I generally detest that feature in Windows, because it messes up keyboard navigation. Both operating systems support jumping to a file by starting to type a name, but on Windows you don't know where you end up. If I have a file called "notes", I know that typing "N" will send me somewhere very close to the file, and a few arrow presses brings me to it - if I do it on a Mac. If I do it on Windows, it depends on what is selected - if it's a folder or nothing, I jump to the first folder beginning with N, but if it's a file, I jump to the first file beginning with N - in a completely different part of the list. I do use folder grouping in some windows on the Mac, though, by adding a space to the name. Ideally, it should be a per-window setting. -
Converting .BUP. IFO and .VOB files
Hello,
I have a dvd of my high school football that when you insert it into a DVD player or into a computer using DVD Player on the Mac it plays fine. However, when I try to rip the files using MactheRipper or Handbrake it stays in .BUP .IFO and .VOB files. I want to know if anyone knows how I can somehow convert these files or get them into iMovie so that I can edit them. The videos don't have sound files, in case that matters.
ThanksYou're viewing multiplexed DVD-Video data (this is called "muxed" for short). As such, it is in a format that is for playback only.
You'll need to demultiplex (or "demux") the data stream to something you can edit.
Mactheripper only copies DVD-Video data and provides no demultiplexing.
Handbrake effectively converts DVD-Video data to other play only formats (like MPEG4 for your iPod).
DVDxDV (and DVDxDV Pro) is a software application meant for doing just what you are trying to do ($50 to $80, depending on the version you purchase).
Also, if you have Roxio Toast, you can use it to export the multiplexed video stream to something that you can edit ($100, but you can often find it on sale or with a rebate).
Whatever application you find to do this, DV-NTSC QuickTime is a good choice to convert to. It's the same format you would have after capturing digital video from MiniDV tape. It's the same frame size and frame rate as MPEG2 NTSC, just a different compression type (DV/DVCPro-NTSC rather than MPEG2).
Avoid extracting the DVD-Video stream to MPEG2. This might get you something that can be played with QuickTime (if you have the MPEG2 playback component installed), but it's not a compression type for editing.

Updated iTunes and now files missing
Upon being prompted I updated notice to the most current iTunes.
Went to listen to a particular song. Pop-up appeared saying something like "file not found".
Upon being prompted, I manually located the file. However, iTunes put a completely unrelated song (not the song I manually located nor even the correct musical group) in its place.
Meanwhile, a prompt also asked if I'd like iTunes to locate issing files. Clicked affirmatively & waited, then got a prompt that 107 files couldn't be located.
Deleting missing menu items and replacing accurate files is tedious to say the least.
Does anyone know of a good solution?Follow the instructions of tt2 given in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5822086

Convert Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files to PDF
This question was posted in response to the following article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS40411658-73C0-4669-88E8-D410F5993FAC.html
Acrobat converts a whole Excel sheet to PDF even though one wants to convert only a defined print area (if converting the Excel file with either right-click or from within Acrobat . Converting from within Excel works.)
-> Applies for Excel 2010 only .
Workaround:
Activate in Excel the function "Allow changes by more than one user at the same time" under:
Tab Review > Share Workbook > set checkmark at "Allow changes by more than one user at the same time"
then save the document and now creating a PDF with each of the above mentioned methods works as expected.

Custom XMP panels in Bridge don't properly set language alternative elements
