I have a problem with making symbol
when I try to convert several layers to a symbol the regularity of layers will chages.

Hi,
I am sorry that you are experiencing this problem. Just to make my understanding clearer did you by any chance painted on top of layers(because after you create the symbol it appears that the hair was somewhat different from the one before conversion) the new nose, hair etc?

Hi, Sylvain.
This is a great idea! Currently, ExportPDF only can export 1 file at a time. (Acrobat can do a batch export using it's Action Wizard feature.)

Place linked, any way to update several layers at once when changing location of source files? (i.e. moving source folder to different location/computer)

I have a PS file whic I wanna use as template for several works. I've got several layers containing external images which have been "placed linked" and which are organised in a single folder in my computer. I believe the links are saved as absolute therefore if I copy the PSD file and the source images folder into a different computer (or even if I move the source folder to a different location in the same computer) all smart objects have to be relinked one by one!!! any way to do it all at once (as I guess it is the case in Premiere and AE) assuming they're all in the same folder???
Also similar question when renaming all source images, any way PS can link to specific file and keep the link even if a name change happens?
If possible it'd be a huge time saver!

Open Pages. Go to the menu bar>file>export. Select PDF. The size of the file should be irrelevant.

1. Pre-select (highlight) the layer to move in the Layers panel. or-
2. [ALT+Right mouse click] to select the wanted layer in the image window.
and maybe
3. Set the PS option to "Auto-select" a layer with cursor hover. (can be very confusing!)

Photoshop Converted My Layers into a Smart Object. Now I can't edit.

I created a multi-layered psd in Photoshop CC that had a combo of vectors and images. When I went back into the psd, all it has is one smart object. I don't ever remember converting the layers to a smart object. And now, when I try to edit the smart object, it brings me into Illustrator...and I can't even edit it from there. Is there a way to get my layers back in Photoshop?

Thx, Trevor. When I double click the Smart Object, it opens in Illustrator. Can't get it back to Photoshop (when I choose duplicate in Illustrator, it just duplicates it there)...and it's all clipping groups.

Batch convert illustrator layers to movieclips

Ik was wandering if it it possible to batch convert ai-layers to movieclips.Also I would like that the layer name will be the movieclip name and the instancename. Hopefully you can help me!

First of all ... yes ... it is possible to save illustrator files as movie clips(which to me are .swf).
Since i suppose you`re making a reference to .fla files(because u need instance name to be the same name as the layer and so the .fla layer it is in), that should also be possible but you`ll have to play a bit with the flash scripting. Here's a start:
this will save every layer as a swf in the same location as the .ai file ...

Converting a PNG to a Symbol Causes Instant Crash in CS4

Every time I try to convert a PNG to a symbol, Flash CS4 instantly crashes. The PNG images are coming from LightWave 3D, but I've run them through Fireworks and saved with a new name to no avail. They aren't anything unusual, 480 x 270 pixels with alpha trnasparency. There was some discussion about removing fonts with red icons, did that, no help. Reset Preferences>Text>Font mapping default to Arial, no help. Flash 8 works fine.

You should probably deactivate before uninstalling, but going back on the same machine you don't need to remove the serial number.

Convert multiple layers into separate smart objects

I have multiple layers in a document that I want to make into separate smart objects.
If I select them and choose "convert to smart object" in the Layers Panel fly out, it flattens the layers into 1 smart object.
Can it be done, or do I need to make each layer a smart object one at a time.
OR... let me back up
I have several files in Bridge, I want to "load into Photoshop layers" using the TOOLS > Batch Command BUT have each file load as a smart object.
Either way would be great!

While these don't use the batch command, take a look at
from within photoshop, File>Scripts>Load Files into Stack.

If you have cs5, you can drag files from mini bridge into an existing

Apply the same motion tween in several layers

My character has many layers such as arm, leg, eye and I applied several tween in each layers of it , now I want to apply the same motion tween in all these layers , Is there a way to do that ?

Download NewerAnimClip from Dave Logan - Flash Extensions and install it.
Select all the layers that contain pieces of your character.
Run the command
Make sure that what it created is set to be a graphic symbol
Under looping, set your symbol to "Play once."
Apply the motion tween to your new graphic symbol.

How do I convert several AVI movies to one AVI??

I took several movies with my digital camera and I'd like to convert them to one AVI. Nothing special needs to be done, I just want to paste them into one movie for computer viewing. I have QuickTime Pro, iLife, and several other programs. Not sure which one would work.

If the files play without issue in QuickTime you can copy/paste them together using Pro.
If you wish to share these files you may want to export the final file using a QuickTime audio and video codecs.

Mask layers in button symbols not working?

Hi!
I am making a button symbol with many graphical elements
placed in separate layers. I also want to use regular (not
scripted)mask layers inside the button symbol but it doesn't work
when I test the movie. In the authoring environment tha masking
effect shows up properly but when I test the movie it just stacks
the layers on top of each other as regular layers.
Is this a bug? In previous falsh versions I think this method
was working fine.

that is correct. If you search the forum by "mask button" you
will find posts
going back many years saying that flash does not support
masking within button.
To work around that limitation, you can place your mask in
movie clip and than
that clip inside a button.
