Converting Speakers to Wireless

Are there any electronics experts on here who can comment on the possiblity of modifying a Creative speaker system so each satalite speaker is completely wireless?
I have the Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700. Probably one of three best purchases I have made towards my PC. But the ability to easily move the speakers free at will for different scenarios, different seating positions for the listener(s) - unfortunately has not yet arrived from Creative if it ever will.
And no I won't be expecting to use the warrenty on my product after it goes wrong lol.

Hi USB-EtherPrint,
Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you would like to know how to setup the printer with Airprint through a wireless adapter.
I will be happy to help you.
What is the full name and product number of your printer? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • External speakers/different wireless connection

Can I use airport express to connect external powered speakers while I am connected to a different wireless connection. I am trying to use my speakers in my offices wirelessly but need to be connected to the office internet either through ethernet or wifi. Is there a way to do that? Thanks

Basically, no. Unless you reconfigure the AirPort Express to join the office's existing Wi-Fi network as a wireless client, you'd have to "switch" Wi-Fi networks between iTunes streaming and accessing the Internet.
If you are allowed to join the company network, please check out the following Apple Support article on how to get your Express configured for streaming.

Can anyone lend a hand on how my 881W configuration might look like?  You can't create multiple bridge groups and route IP (you can only do that over bridge group 1).  I need to make sure that I can have two logically separated wireless networks (one for corporate and one for home) and that they get the right IP addresses from their right VLAN's.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • IPhone Remote / Airfoil Speakers / Ethernet / Wireless

A query about the iTunes Remote:
    Here is my setup
-Mac Pro connected via ethernet to a MacBook Pro
-The Mac Pro is sharing the MacBook Pros wireless connection via ethernet - as this gives the fastest access to files (I am on a heavily subscribed wireless network in a big shared house)
-If I try and share files via wireless, network traffic slow the speed of streaming I therefore use a hard wired connection.
I can see my library shared through ethernet, and also the other libraries in the house on both computers iTunes.
At the moment, to listen to audio from the Mac Pro, I use AirFoil and AirFoil Speakers to send the audio to the Mac Book Pro, which in turn is connected to my amp by a cable. The network trafic makes the Airport Express choppy znd unreliable.
To connect from my iPhone, I have to turn Airport on on the Mac Pro - but I can't see why!
If the Mac Pro is sharing it's library through the MacBook Pro then why can't the iPhone connect iPhone > Wireless > MacBook Pro > Ethernet > Mac Pro ?
Instead I need to enable Wireless giving iPhone > Wireless > MacPro
Whatever happens I need to output sound Mac Pro > Ethernet > MacBook Pro > Cable > Amp
    Any ideas?

  • Converting Wired Home Theater System to Wireless

I have a Sony home theater system with standard components: center channel, subwoofer, front right, front left, rear left, and rear right speakers.
I would like to convert my rear speakers to wireless.
I have looked at the RocketFish converter kit; but it seems that I would still have wires emitting from rear receiver box.
Do  you have any suggetions?  Are their other brand options that will not be too expensive.
NOTE: I do not want to replace my current surround system.  I have a baby on the way, and need to be thrifty with my $s.
    Thanks,

Wireless is not true wireless, as you have found out. Also wireless will compromise the overall quality of the sound. There will be interference and static sometimes. Maybe when an appliance turns on or a car with bad plug wires drives by.

  • Apple TV Hooked up to two receivers-Ad wireless speakers?

Presently I have my 5.1 HDMI receiver hooked up to my AppleTV with wired speakers in my den.
I also have another old receiver that also runs my AppleTV (analog) with speakers in my sunroom which are also wired.
I am able to play my AppleTV music to both at the same time with both receivers with no problems.
I would like to switch out the WIRED Sunroom speakers to wireless speakers.
Would I just buy "Airplay" or Bluetooth speakers to replace the sunroom speakers?
Can I still use my old receiver to power the wireless speakers?
Can both receivers/AppleTV work like my orig set up?
My concern is in my IPads "settings".

Bluetooth on the ATV is only for connecting a keyboard.
If using AirPlay speakers, keep in mind that when AirPlaying content from an iDevice to the ATV, no sound will be sent to the AirPlay speakers.  If you are okay with that limitation, go right ahead.  Otherwise, keep the current setup.

  • Intermittent Audio Thru Wireless Speakers

I am running a Mac Mini and all of the audio goes to wireless speakers. Wireless audio streaming device is a USB connection - one into back of Mac Mini and one into the back of the wireless speaker.
Audio works perfectly but after a while just cuts out. Solve the problem by adjusting the volume up (on the remote control or on computer) and after a few seconds the audio is there again. To be lost a few minutes later. Sometimes it fixes itself without touching any volume control. This occurs whether I am running music through iTunes or watching TV through EyeTV.
Had issue even before new upgrade to Snow Leopard.
Wondering if this is a MacMini issue or a wireless speaker issue?
    Thanks. Miles

When I first set up the AudioEngine5 speakers I bought an Airport Express and used Airfoil. As you mentioned there is a very noticeable lag between the audio and video (a few seconds) on any video application whether it be TV through your PC or a DVD through your PC (which I use both).
The solution was to get rid of the Airport Express and Airfoil and order Audioengine's W1 (AW1) Premium Wireless Audio Adapter - see their website. One adapter plugs into the PC's USB slot and the other plugs into the speaker. Similar to a Bluetooth wireless connection - same principle. The range is pretty good and there is no lag between the video and audio signals whether you are watching a DVD or TV on your PC.
I am very happy with the overall Audioengine5 set-up. Value for money the speakers are very reasonable for what you get. The adapters up the price a bit but to get rid of amplifiers and wires, and have the PC as your hub for everything this is a great solution.

  • Printing using Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP wireless Ethernet Converter

The Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP is a wireless unit that lets you connect 4 ethernet devices to it and connect the unit itself wirelessly to an access point. In my setup I have two HP printers connected to the Buffalo and have linked the Buffalo with my Time Capsule.
The idea being I don't need two fugly printers on my desk and can stick them someplace else away from my Time Capsule without needing to run cables.
Sounds good. Only problem is that when I set up the printers with Bonjour they're only visible for the first few minutes after they've been powered up. Then they 'disappear' and whenever I try to print to them the print queue just says 'connecting...' and nothing happens.
Problem was solved by deleting the Bonjour printers and adding them as HP IP Printers. This seems to work 100% reliably.

Connect your modem to the Internet Port on the WRT310N router, configure the WRT310N router for Internet Access, adjust the wireless settings...
Once you are done...configure your Wireless Buffalo Ethernet Converter, give it a static address of 192.168.1.240, subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, default gateway of 192.168.1.1,make sure wireless settings on your Wireless Buffalo Ethernet Converter matches the Wireless settings on your router...You can now connect your Gaming devices or computers to your Wireless Buffalo Ethernet Converter and it should work...

  • ITunes 9: Unknown error -15000 trying to stream to remote speakers

Some weeks ago, I started getting unknown error -15000 when I tried to stream music from my AEBSn to to remote speakers connected wirelessly to an AXn. I found Apple's iTunes 8 article on -15000, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2277, that blamed old firmware, but I am using the latest versions. I've tried pulling power on both wireless units and rebooted the Mac hosting the music but no luck. A search through the posts showed nothing promising. Has anyone else seen this error or have any suggestions? My versions are:
    Mac OS 10.6.2
    iTunes 9.0.3
    AEBSn 7.4.2
    AXn 7.4.2
    Thanks, Will

  • Samsung wireless blue ray home theater

i just got a samsung home theater HT - C5500 and I want to know what do I need to use the internet, wireless speakers, and all the features; also I need to know if I can plug my phone to the bluey ray player... its a htc phone

Ok, first of all, in order to use the internet features of the blu ray player, you can go about this two different ways. You can either directly plug an ethernet cable into the back of the blu ray player/home system and access the internet that way, or you can go and purchase the Wireless adapter stick. This stick looks very much like a flash drive that you plug into the back of the player and it picks up on your home wireless signal.
Secondly, in terms of making your speakers wireless there are a couple different options you go with. Samsung sells a device that can make your rear speakers "virtually wireless". What this means is instead of running speaker wire from the home system/blu ray player at the front of your room all the way to the rear of your room, there is a small box that will sit in the back of the room and you run the rear speakers speaker wire into the box. The box then communicates with the home system/blu ray in the front of your room, and you have now saved a lot of wire from being run all around your room. This is the most simple way, but the box is not sold in stores, you will need to order this box directly through Samsung.
The other option in terms of making your speakers wireless is the Rocketfish rocketboost setup. There are many different ways you can go about setting up your speakers so they're wireless and these kits vary depending on how you'd like things done. I'd suggest going and speaking with a Home Theater specialist at Best Buy about this option, they could actually give you demonstrations and a better visual explanation than what I can here.
Finally as for hooking up your HTC phone to the system, there are cables to do so, you just need to purchase the one specific to your model phone. For example, if you'd like to listen to music off your phone, you can purchase a cable that is a headphone jack on one end and a red and white stereo cable on the other end. This way, the headphone jack plugs into your phone and the red and white into the tv or surround sound system if it has the inputs for it (which i dont believe it does). In terms of transmitting video, you will need a specific cable, which I would then again speak to either a Best Buy Mobile associate and/or Home Theater specialist, the combination of the two will be able to point out exactly what kind of cable you will need (I have an iphone and I have it hooked up to my system to watch shows on).
I hope this helped you out and that you can get everything all set now in terms of your new surround sound system!
Ohh and I am a Home Theater specialist for Best Buy if you were wondering and I'm very confident in what I have explained here, hope it helps you out =D

  • Graphite compatibility with new wireless printers

I have been using a graphite AirPort for years and years with no complaints. Now I am finally getting around to shopping for a wireless printer to have in the house, so that my partner and I can print without competing for the USB cord. I am wondering, though, whether a new printer will work o.k. with the graphite, or will I have to buy a newer model of AirPort. (The last time I asked a graphite compatibility question to an AppleStore saleseperson, I got a wrong answer. So I'm going to the discussion board instead for this one!)
Thanking anyone in advance for any comments,
    Jorge Bravo
P.S. In case it matters, my computer is an iBook G4 running 10.5.4, my partner's is a PowerBook G4 with 10.4.11.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The Graphite produces a plain-vanilla 802.11b wireless network. It uses 40-bit WEP encryption. Check the system requirements of the wireless printers you are interested in; they are likely to be compatible.
Different manufacturers can use different routines to convert arbitrary-length wireless network passwords to the 40 bits used for WEP, so a device might appear to be incompatible for this reason. The easiest way around this is to use exactly 5 characters in your wireless network password.
The most unusual feature of the Graphite, these days, is that it has only a single Ethernet port, used for both WAN and LAN connections. If you need to connect the printer via Ethernet to the Graphite in order to set it up, you probably ought to disconnect the Graphite from your DSL or cable modem, even if you normally use an Ethernet hub, if the Graphite is distributing IP addresses. (This is to avoid a DHCP conflict.) If the printer needs to be connected simultaneously to the Internet and the Graphite while being set up via Ethernet (which I doubt), you'd need an Ethernet hub, and in order to prevent a DHCP conflict if the Graphite is distributing IP addresses, it would be best to set the printer's IP address manually, to an address of the form 10.0.1.x where x is in the 200's.
I haven't used wireless printers with my own Graphite, but I do connect wirelessly through the Graphite to Ethernet printers, without problems. (I have another router in my network, between the DSL modem and the wired devices, and my Graphite is set not to distribute IP addresses, so there are no DHCP conflicts.)

  • J4680 was connected to wireless but had to change out routers. now it will not connect. win 7.

My J4680 worked great on my old wireless.  I changed out routers and now I can't get it reconnected.  I have Windows 7 so the install disk never worked for me.  Is there somewhere I can get the Windows 7 install exe so I can configure the wireless through my PC.  When I put in the security key on the J4680 keyboard it always fails.

    Hi fdouvry,
You can download the printer software for Windows 7 here:  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-88608-2&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...

  • Itunes can't see remote speakers on extended network

i have a peculiar issue that hopefully someone else has come up against: my itunes does not see any remote speakers that are attached to the network via a network extender.
my setup has 3 remote speakers: one immediately next to a d-link router and two that connect via a d-link range extender - all of the speakers are wirelessly connected to their respective devices. when my laptop is near the router (and therefore connecting to that device) itunes can only see the one speaker that is near the router but not the other two. when my laptop is next to the range extender (and therefore connecting via the extender) itunes can only see the two speakers that are connecting through the extender, but not the one connecting via the router.
weird, eh? any thoughts as to how to see all three speakers at once on my itunes?
    thanks,
    Chris
      Windows XP

Same thing happened here on a G5 after i had troubles installing the latest quicktime upgrade vover the last weekend. I have however got this powerbook with leopard and itunes and it works exactly as it could. I have two airport expresses on two hifi's the main one which provides wifi is missing i can get the slave one that bridges the network as wel las serving music to show if i restart it .. but it seems to wither and die from the itunes window without warning
It must be a machine specific thing however, as i have created new logins on the faulty machine and none of them can give me sessions with itunes where remote speakers are restored so the problem must lie closer to root than with user settings.
I am hoping its a stinking flaw with quicktime or itunes as i do not fancy having to restore leopard again after all the nonsense of the first one. I wasted enough time then and i'd like a peaceful christmas listening to my music on my hifi.. the current situation is as perverse as drm

  • How to use AX1 for wireless audio and Time Capsule simultaneously?

I am trying AirFoil to Stream Pandora (Safari) to an amplifier and speakers in the next room connected to an older Airport Express.
I can play iTunes 11.0.1 (on a MacMini 2.26 GHz running 10.6.8) to this older Airport Express 802.11g (before N came out  - Is this called AX1st?) with the audio out the Express connected to my amplifier and speakers and wirelessly play my music. To do this I have to choose the Airport Express as my network device which means I loose my Time Capsule, which is the device with my internet connection.
Can you tell me how to stay on the internet with Time Capsule and stream to this Airport Express?
If I try to extend to this Airport Express I get an error message: "The Network You Selected cannot be extended." (I don't know if that is a "g" "n" thing or what?)
Do I need a newer Airport Express, or a Netgear or how to get Pandora to an amplifier in a different room, wirelessly?  Then the question will be, how to do this to three different amplifiers in three different rooms.

    How do I
Make your Express 'join' your Time Capsule's WiFi network in AirPort Utility. This will work wirelessly however your Express will not function as an extender in this mode.
    I'm Using Airport Utiity 5.6.1
In AU in "Aiport / WIreless tab" I hoped it would be as simple as the word 'Join' showing in the Wireless Mode drop down. But it does not.
