Converting to Excel why will not format to landscape when original is landscape formatted
Is the lack of this feature problematic for others? How resolved?

I'm sorry to hear that your files aren't converting as you expect. How were the PDF files created? It sounds as though they may have been generated by a third-party app (a non-Adobe app), and they don't contain the tagging information necessary to convert the file in the format as the original Excel file.

Excel 2011 Will Not Link to MacMail in Mountian Lion From a Hyperlinked Cell
Unlike Excel 2004, my shiny new Excel 2011 will not link to MacMail in Mountian Lion from a hyperlinked cell email address entry. When I click on the button "Launch E-mail Application" I get the message, "An error occurred trying to find or launch your email program".
When I click on the cell with the link I get the message. "Office cannot open the URL you specified. Make sure you have a web browser installed and that it is configured correctly".

I have not been able to format my media card. My phone does recognize it. But will not format for the blackberry pearl 8120 . HELP, I have done everything, and cant get it to format. I know I have the correct disk It is a scandisk 1.0gb Micro SD.

We can change the file association of the Excel file. Please right-click the Excel file and choose
Properties. Click the Change button and choose
Microsoft Office Excel. Also check the box before:

If the problem persists, try the methods below to resolve the issue:
Method 1: Enable the
Ignore Other Applications that use DDE feature

Click the Office button an then click
Excel Options. Excel displays the Excel Options dialog box.

Advanced at the left side of the dialog box.

General section, make sure the Ignore Other Applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) check box is selected.

If you still cannot double-click on a workbook to open it, try these steps:

Close Excel completely.

Open a My Computer window.

Choose
Tool | Folder Options. You should see the Folder Options dialog box.
Note: If you are Windows Vista, click Start > Search, type Folder Options and search it.

Make sure the File Types tab is displayed.

5.
In the list of registered file types, find and select the entry for
XLS (Microsoft Excel Worksheet).

Depending on your version of Windows, click on either the Edit or the
Advanced button. You should see the Edit File Type dialog box.
7.
In the list of actions, choose
Open.
8.
Click the
Edit button. Windows displays the Editing Action dialog box.
9.
The Application Used to Perform Action box contains the actual command line used to start Word. Double-check the line to make sure there are no strange extra filenames at the
end of the command line.
10.
Make sure the
Use DDE check box is selected, and that the DDE Message box is set to the following: [open("%1")]
11.
Click on
OK.
12.
Close all the other open dialog boxes.

Hello. My friend's iPod 3G 30GB will not format. The hard drive failed or something and now when I try to format it (on either a mac or PC) it does not work.
When I format on the Mac: Goes through as normal, then hangs on the last step (creating partition map)
When I format on the Windoze: I guess the battery dies right at the end each time because the iPod doesn't get charged from the PC. (USB2 or mini-FW port).
Is there anything that can be done? His warranty is done so it will cost loads to fix it.When I put the iPod into disk mode and plug it in:

There is nothing to click delete to. When I change the Volume Scheme to 1 Partition, it just hangs forever while it's Creating Partition Map:
When I go to the erase tab, it also hangs on the "Creating Partition Map" step (at the very end). -

USB FAT32 is read only and will not format

1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size. -
I recently moved from England to Australia. I have installed iTunes onto my partner's pc which is equipped with windows XP. Every time I try to format my iPod (I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times) there is a breakdown after 15 -20 minutes of waiting when a notice appears telling me about a communication problem between the iPod and the pc and to start the installation process again. Because I have been unable to format the iPod, the pc will not recognise the iPod when I connect it and therefore I cannot update my iTunes library. Many thanks for any help.
Ok well you cant just format your iPod by use of the windows format option. You have to use Apple software to 'Restore' your iPod. Here is the link, just install it and connect your iPod to it and then click 'Restore'.

My iPhone camera will not open up. When I press on the icon it open and closes quickly. When I open it from my home screen it reboots my phone. What should I do?
Tried that and it still isn't working. Not sure if it's software thing but I just noticed when I swipe up my control center the flashlight option is not available as well. I'm not sure why this is. I have a 5s with the newest software. That's for the suggestion

Or Single Users Mode (command s on startup) and follow on-screen instruction command
/sbin/fsck -fy
to repair your boot drive
... or a Safe Boot with shift key held down.
Corrupt prefs, directory, could be a number of small or major things.
But, in any case, make sure you have backups, and a bootable backup clone, maybe an emergency boot drive as well (install OS X on another drive if you don't have one now). -
App will not download to iPad when purchased from App Store - stuck with Cloud icon

Last night I tried to download an app over wi-fi onto my iPad Air, but the app did not install.
I have plenty of space (the app is 24.1mb, I have 3.4gb free space) and there are no restrictions whatsoever on my iPad - no blocks on App store purchases, no age-related restrictions, no country restrictions etc.
Normally from the App Store page you would tap the price (in this case the app was free), enter your iTunes password, and the app would download.
Also a new icon appears on the home screen and a circle shows the progress of the download.
However this did not happen.
Instead I have the Cloud icon (the one that shows when you have bought an app but it is not currently installed on your device) and a message that says "You've already purchased this, so it will be downloaded now at no additional cost".
If I press OK I am then prompted to enter my iTunes password, the Cloud symbol briefly changes to a circle (and I mean for a split-second, like the blink of an eye) and then the Cloud symbol appears again.
The app does not download - in fact it does not even *attempt* to download.
I have tried this >20 times now and it always occurs excatly like this.
After Googling this problem (which seems common) and reading over a dozen threads on this forum plus Apple's own official support pages, this is what I've tried:
I can re-download other apps that I have previously purchased on this iPad, with no problems.
I purchased another app on my iPhone 5 and was then able to download onto my iPad with no problems.
I have reset my iPad >5 times - both by pressing/holding the home/power buttons, and also a full switch off and restart.
I have logged out of my iTunes account on the iPad, and logged back in.
The wi-fi is Virgin Media fibre optic broadband with a verified speed of 20 meg (confirmed by Speedtest) plus an 802.11-n Belkin router and my iPad will happily load web pages, stream videos on YouTube, download other apps etc.
I have reset/rebooted my internet connection
In an attempt to eliminate by broadband connection from the possible causes, I have switched off my router, linked my iPad to the hotspot feature on my iPhone and tried to download the app over cellular data, but still cannot download the app.
I have tried on 2 other wi-fi networks but still cannot download this one app.
My iTunes account has a cerdit balance from an iTunes card, but the app was free anyway
Nothing I try will download the app in question.
The app is iPad only, so I cannot install on my iPhone to try and kick-start the process.
I guess I could install the app on my computer and then sync the iPad, but that's *working around* the problem - it's not *fixing* the problem.
(Since getting the iPad I use almost never use my computer. And anyway what if I did not have a computer? Didn't iOS go "PC-free" with version 5?)
I would like to call Apple but my 90-day telephone support has expired (the iPad is around 6 months old) and I don't want to buy Apple Care for this one problem.
I can't make it to an Apple Store to speak to a Genius.
Bearing in mind the list of things I've already tried, what do I do next?

No need to apologize, I actually found the phrase "If your iPad ever craps the bed" amusing under the circumstances
I checked the list of installed apps like you suggested (Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps) but this problem app is not in the list. I have also swiped down on the home screen to search for it, but again it does not show.
While it has not let me download the app (and I just tried it again) it has helped me to eliminate a few things from the list of what to try, and I can definitely conclude that it has not downloaded.
I guess I need to fire up my PC and download it / sync my iPad.

How do I sync my iPhone 5 to my new PC? iTunes will not recognize it even when plugged in the USB port. Settings>General>iTunes wifi sync is still my old laptop. Any help is appreciated.
