Converting to jpeg in CS2 after skin softening in LR2.4

I have not used Adjustment Brushes much, so I do not know if this is a known problem. Running with XP. I did a skin softening, cropped and exported as a tiff. Went to CS2, opened file, did some acne removal, and went to save as a jpeg to send to lab. It will not save, saying "could not complete your request because of a program error." At first I thought it was a computer problem, since I am having a little "old computer" trouble. I shut down, restarted everything, re-exported the file from LR, and same problem. So I exported a jpeg instead, and no problem saving it in CS after acne removal. I tried to search the forum, but the search is not very good.

It's an issue that's been around for quite some time. Exporting as JPEG and possibly PSD are the workarounds.
I can't recall the exact cause of the problem, but lies with Photoshop CS2 rather than Lightroom. Therefore, since CS2 is no longer current/supported it's highly unlikely that a fix will be released.

  • Cannot save as jpeg in CS2 after exporting from lightroom

I'm so frustrated. This began happening only a couple times here and there after starting to use lightroom (can't remember if it was the 1.4 version, or the beta version). I don't think it's my photoshop program, since I have completely re-installed it twice and reinstalled onto my computer.
Anyway, now it's happening all the time. I export images from lightroom into CS2 to make final edits, sharpen for print, crop, etc and then photoshop will not let me save it as a jpeg. I can save as a psd, or a tiff, but not a jpeg. I have tried exporting in jpeg format, or tiff format, and everything is fine until I try to save either type as a jpeg. It lets me choose the quality, 10-12 etc, then when I click OK, A red box with "could not complete your request because of a program error" pops up.
I have Vista, edit in sRGB, export in sRGB, etc..... just don't know what to do since I NEED to be able to edit and save to send to print. Please help.

basically you delete the camera raw info put into the file that trips up CS2 (but not CS3!)

  • Strange colour spots (red & green) appear after RAW files converted to JPEG, anyone know how to fix it?

Strange colour spots (red&green) appear after RAW files converted to JPEG, anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.

I use "Export" function to convert the picture from RAW format to JPEG format, resolution 240 pixels per inch. Strange red dots appeared in the area supposed to be dark grey, as per the picture below. The red colour does not appeared in the original RAW picture when viewing from Lightroom, only exist in the JPEG it created. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!

  • Jpegs look blurry after crop at fit to screen but are fine at 50%... Why?

I recently upgraded to CS4 and have system 10.6.2.  Jpegs appear blurry after cropping at fit to screen but are fine at 16%, 50% or 100%...  My CS2 version never did this. Anyone know how to fix this bug?
    Thanks

Your resolution (in the pic) is likely set to 72PPI. In smaller JPGs when they are enlarged to full screen, they will appear pixelated or blurry.
Before cropping, try setting the PPI to 300.
I had to do this when making PNGs for conversion to icons, because they would blur when converted. I set almost everything I do to 300PPI.

  • Convert to JPEG Command

After a quick development I convert my 1- and 2-star photographs (i.e. the ones that are almost good for nothing, but still I can't hit the Delete button) to JPEG to save disk space.
Currently I use Bridge and ACR to save to the same folder (Lightroom export does not have that option), delete the RAWs right in ACR, then Synchronize Folder in Lightroom to remove RAWs and import the JPEGs.
Would like to have a 'Convert to JPEG' along with 'Convert to DNG' or a more universal 'Convert To...' with options for all the formats supported. I think it should be saved in ProPhoto RGB with all the settings, except for cropping, already applied to the JPEG image, and thus reset to zero.

To expand on this a little bit, I want to have the option to use the jpgs as the preview files and kill two birds with one stone. Here is a post I made earlier this year:
    Rory Hill - 08:11am Jul 28, 2007 Pacific
To provide a little background on why I am thinking about how previews are used in Lr it might help to understand my workflow. I import my raw files, cull the ones I do not want to keep, keyword and add metadata, and tweak in develop. I then export to JPG. I do this because:
    1. I can quickly browse through images in any program I choose. Others in my work environment can do the same as the files are saved on a network.
    2. I can quickly email or FTP the JPGs to others.
    3. I can edit the JPGs in any other program, because all programs can efficiently use JPG.
    4. For 99% of my usage, a high quality JPG works just fine.
Now, it just so happens that Lr is maintaining previews of my images in a proprietary JPG file so that:
    1. It can display images quickly in the library.
    2. It can show the previews even if your images are offline.
Lr has a neat shortcut, where you can print a preview, instead of rendering the raw file, which speeds up the printing process, albeit with a loss in quality. However, if you render 1:1 previews, I have a hard time telling the difference. In other words, one can have the best of both worlds, high speed and high quality.
So, I want to use JPGs for most of my work and Lr can save 1:1 previews. However, I cannot access the previews directly because Lr does not save them as JPGs, even though the preview is in a JPG format (as I understand it). Also, it seems wasteful to have both the previews and exported JPGs.
I would like to be able to bypass my current step of exporting to JPG, and then reimporting the JPG into my library, and just use a 1:1 preview JPG. This would require the following:
    1. Lr save the previews as JPG files.
    2. Provide a "Show preview in explorer".
    3. Provide a "Copy selected previews". This is needed to aggregate a selection of previews, scattered throughout the Lr catalog preview folder structure, to a common folder for other applications to use.
    4. In the catalog settings, provide the same options for JPG quality (0-100) as in the export dialog. I would like to be able to set this separately for the 1:1 rendering (use a high quality) and the standard previews that load first, which could be a much lower quality.
Now, I fully understand that the whole idea of Lr is not to bother with the JPG (or PSD, TIFF) and just work directly in Lr, happily saving all the changes as metadata. This is fine in theory, but as has been discussed here a number of times, breaks down in the real world because Lr does not do everything, and even if it did, someone else will always be providing some capability that is better than Lr. Consequently, at present, at least for me, it makes sense to maintain a "developed" version of the raw files as a JPG.
I realize this is a complex issue and that I may not have thought through all the consequences of this, so I am interesting in any other thoughts on this idea.
    Regards
    Rory

  • Can not find the Skin Soften option with the adjustment brush 2.0

When I first installed 2.0 I had an option for skin softening with the adjustment brush. Now it's gone. Does everyone using Lightroom 2.0 have skin soften with the adjustment brush?

In Develop press K for Adjustment Brush (or click the Brush Icon). The it appears in the drop down menu next to Effect: that defaults to Exposure and has a small set of up and down arrows to the right of it. Soften Skin is last after a divider. It also appears (????) there for Graduated Filter (M).

How can I keep my RAW photo files from converting to JPEG???

    Hello briggiebunny
If iTunes can read the movie files, then you will need to create an iPad version by going to the drop down menu File > Create New Version > Create iPad or Apple TV Version and then syncing that newly created file.
iTunes: Videos may be unable to sync to iPhone, iPad, or iPod

  • Photoshop CC Can't convert to jpegs; image processor not opening

I'm on Windows 7. When I open a psd document in PS CC, I don't have the option to convert to jpeg, and a lot of other types, for that matter. Also, when I click on Tools/Photoshop/Image processor it will not open up. Any suggestions? Thank you.

It was already disabled when I checked. I enabled it and tried again, still didn't work. Anything else that might be wrong? i'm getting desperate lol

  • How does convert document to working cmyk after adjusting in profile mismatch dialog box?

When there`s a profile or policy mismatch dialog box here, there`s an option about adjust the document to match current colour settings. But when the assign profile doesn`t match the working space, the check box of "convert document to working cmyk after adjusting"can choose.
But question come out, when I check the box,I find the profile auto turn to working cmyk profile, there`s nothing to do with the assigned profile I chosen.
So when to choose this option?why not directly choose the working cmyk profile?
some more questions.about the "placed content"option,I`m not quite catch the meaning of the options.such as "keep existing assignments"."disable all profiles"."enable all profiles".Can anybody answer me?

If I make a document with Color Settings' CMYK policy set to Off like this:
Save and close the doc then change Color Settings to this:
When I open the document the mismatch dialog tells me the document has no profile assigned while the current policy is set to preserve (the Off policy meant no profile got assigned).
Clicking Adjust... lets me change the document's policy from Off to the current Preserve Embedded and choose the profile I want to assign which can be any available CMYK profile including the current working space.
A document's profile assignments can also be changed via Edit>Assign Profiles..., but the document's policy can only be changed from the Mismatch dialog
If I click Adust... the profile I choose from Assign Profile is now the document's profile:
Which is confirmed when I open Edit>Assign Profiles...

I would like to be able to convert a jpeg file, both in Photoshop and outside of Photoshop, into a pdf file.  How do I go about doing that?

If you don't have Acrobat, you'll need to do it in Photoshop. File>Save as>Photoshop PDF. If it is a cmyk file, you'll need to convert it to rgb first.

  • Is there any way of converting a jpeg image into a vector in Fireworks? Deity Babbage, where be thee?

I am hoping for a quick way of converting images (jpeg etc) into a vector.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks
    Eddie

    Try this:
    http://vectormagic.com/home
It won't work with really complex images or photos, but if you have something like a logo, it can work well. You'll need to edit the vectors it generates to smooth out some bumps and incorrect nodes, but editing a vector is much easier than drawing the whole thing from scratch.
    Hope this helps!
