Converting Videos Not Displayed in Library

Would anyone happen to know a way to convert a video file that happens to be CIMG? (I think) It's a video from a digital camera and basically I attempt to add it to my library in order to convert it and it allows me to go through the steps of adding the file but ultimately the file never appears in my library. Is there another method of conversion? Perhaps through QuickTime? Thanks for any help.

iTunes doesn't support Windows Media Player files. Try converting them to MPEG-4 format (with one of the following programs), and then adding it to your iTunes library.
Videora iPod Converter
MPEG Streamclip
Jodix iPod Video Converter
Hope this helps.

  • Converted videos not put in library

I'm trying to convert some music videos for use on my iPhone using "Create iPod or iPhone version" and I've noticed that while the conversion works fine, the resulting files are not placed in my iTunes library -- they're filed away correctly in my library folder, but aren't actually in iTunes. I have to manually add the files after the fact. Is this how it's supposed to work? I can see this being incredibly confusing for non-technically-inclined users. +"The conversion just ended, where's my track??"+

Ever since I've bought a new laptop and iPhone I've been having the exact same problem, I've been using the ImToo ipod movie converter to convert all my avi files into mp4, but when I try adding them to my iTunes it says coping files but only half of them appear, but when I manually check the folder they are there, but they just don't appear in my library.. I know that its definately a problem with Vista as i also use a sony vaio running XP with itunes and I've never ever had this problem, but whats the point in having a new comp when I can only use my old one!!! I tried everything to solve this problem from buying a external hard drive and storing my itunes folder on it, I tried using a tag editor with no joy, I think my next step is to open my window and throwing my laptop throw it!! lol
Can someone please please help before it all goes out the window...

macbook pro not displaying music library: What do I need to do to show music files in Library? They are not showing up.

If you click View, Show Sidebar you will see the other libraries under Shared in the left hand column. Click on the Library you want and you can expand it to select Music, Movies etc. Select whatever items you want and click import if you want to move them to your Library.
You will have to have all computers authorised with the relevant Apple ID's
    Store  >  Authorise this computer...
This is separate from the Home Sharing username and password and is to allow playing of DRM Movies, TV shows etc from the other computer.
If both Computers use the same apple id this step is not required.

  • Embedded video not displaying or playing in PDF

Hello, I am trying to embed a video using InDesign CC 2014 but it is not displaying or playing when looking at it using Adobe reader. Please help!

Make sure it's a format InDesign supports (MP4 preferred). If necessary use Adobe Media Encoder to convert to MP4, H264 encoding.
Preview in the Media panel (Interactive > Media). Set options in Media panel (Poster, Controller). Preview in Media panel and in SWF or EPUB Interactive panel.
Export your PDF as PDF (Interactive).

    Hello jforce
I had the same problem and I solved it by following  advice which I found on another forum (see below). Very simple.
    1) Connect your BB to your PC and navigate to the directory on the Media Card which contains the videos. Probably it's /Blackberry/Videos.
    2) Delete the BBthumbs.dat file
    3) Disconnect your BB.
    4) Open up the BB Media Player and move to Video.
    5) Wait a few moments The BB will then recreate the BBthumbs file and you should  be able to see all videos on the Media card and elsewhere.

  • Videos not displayed in Videos app

Back when I updated to iOS 6 some videos disappeared from the Videos app. Now I realize that the videos show in the movies section under "On this iPad" in iTunes when I connect, which I don't do very often. I can actually play the videos in iTunes but I can't delete them. Since I can't find them on the iPad I can't delete them there either. The videos together take up about 1.3 GB and I'd like to recover that space. I tried creating some new videos with the same name to see if they would show up but that didn't work. Any idea how to remove these hidden videos?

I decided to take the plunge and restore the iPad mini as new. Pain in the rear end having to log in to all of the apps that I reinstalled. Oh well. FaceTime now works. On the whole the iPad runs more smoothly. Running iOS 8.1.2. I still have issue with artwork not displaying on some of the video files that I had synced to the iPad mini from my iMac through iTunes. The problem is only with artwork that I had associated to the files. The same file won't show it's artwork on my iPhone 4s running iOS 8.1.2 either. Yet, when I sync that same video file to my iPod Touch 4G running iOS 6.1.6, the artwork displays correctly as I had associated it in iTunes. This leads me to conclude that the problem lies in the iOS 8 upgrade.

  • Video not displaying horizontally

    Gentlefolk,
iPhone 5s, IOS 8.3, although the video in question was shot in IOS 8.2.
I started capturing a video with the iPhone vertically, then turned the phone horizontally, which is the format I wanted to begin with. The video appeared to capture fine, but when I view the video on my phone, or upload to YouTube, the video does not display horizontally, but vertically. That is, a horizontal video has the action of people walking up and down the screen rather than left and right across the screen.
So, take a horizontal image, and rotate it 90 degrees, and you have my issue.
How do I correct this? All I need is the graphics equivalent of "rotate 90 degrees clockwise" and my problem is solved.
It APPEARS that the video, once it started capturing in a vertical format (I hamhanded the controls to start with) did not recognize the change to a horizontal position. This is quite goofed.
    Many thanks for any suggestions.

Found a free utility in the APP Store that (RotateNFlip) that....well...rotates videos. Worked perfectly for my issue.

  • Bug: thumbnails not displaying on library grid view

Since using v1.0 the thumbnails will not display on the grid view (there is simply a grid of empty grey squares which can be clicked on). All beta versions worked fine. I started a new library with no improvement. All other screens work as expected. Using Windows XP SP2. Any ideas?

joel, I'm experiencing the same issue - the thumbnails start to appear but once they get to the point where they would be fully loaded, they disappear. I used beta as well, and that worked perfectly fine. Just sent in a ticket to the customer support at adobe, hopefully they can help with a solution. I'm only running the trial version of lightroom.
Where you able to figure out a solution?

  • DW CS4: FLV video not displaying

I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 and I'm trying to put an FLV video on a page. I used Insert ->Media ->FLV... and filled in everything it asked for - I browsed for the video (which is in my root directory), I chose a skin, and I input width and height values. I uploaded the video to the server, I uploaded the newly created Scripts folder and its content to the server and, of course, I uploaded the page. I also uploaded FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf and Clear_Skin_3.swf to the root folder. But the video isn't showing.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? It's a standard .flv video for Flash 8 and higher and plays just fine in a variety of players, including Adobe Media Player v. 1.8.
    Here's the page:
    http://StopRightNow.net/index.htm
(The video should display in the large white area to the left of the page, opposite the body copy)
Thanks in advance for your help.

I would never have found that. Thanks VERY much! It's strange. When I put the video on the page, I selected Clear_Skin_3. And that's the file that was in my root folder and that I uploaded to the server. But somehow the code showed Clear_Skin_1. After I changed that 1 to a 3 in the page code, all was right with the world
Again, many thanks for your help. It's much appreciated.

  • Video not displaying properly and not exporting.

I'm using Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4.  I brought an AFX composition in via Dynamic Link, made copies of the clip, chopped it up and spliced it back together on one video layer.  Within the Premiere Pro interface, the video shows up normally when I hit play.  If I hit stop, however, the display area just shows black instead of an image (and if I click any blend mode other than Normal, the image shows up until I move the CTI at which point it disappears again).
Upon trying Export Media, I don't get any video -just a black screen along with the audio.
My eyeball is set to on for visible, opacity is 100%, and non other video layers are turned on.
Not sure what's wrong or how to fix it.
    Thanks for any help.

Still getting similar problems.  This time I have a dynamic link to one complicated AFX CS4 precomp which lasts for about 4 minutes.  Barely plays inside of Premiere; when I hit play, the video will start but it quickly just stays on the same video frame while the audio plays.  If I hit stop and then play again, it will advance to a new frame where the CTI is and then freeze there.
I tried pre-rendering a few seconds inside of Premiere, and now that part is solid black when I hit play - and when the CTI gets past that section, it goes back to displaying video briefly till it freezes on a new frame again.
Using Windows Task Manager, Premiere Pro is using between1-2 GB RAM, and After Effects close to 3GB RAM - and I'm guessing that's my problem since these are only 32 bit programs (even though I'm on Windows 7 with 24GB RAM).
If anyone can confirm whether that's the likely problem or suggest a workaround I'd appreciate it.
May try a trial of the 64 bit programs to see if that fixes things.  Had downloaded AFX and Premiere Pro separately, but don't get dynamic link that way so may have to look at the suites.

  • Purchased videos not displaying on new iPad

    Hello,
Recently upgraded to an iPad Air this weekend from an iPad3.
The setup assistant was run on the Ipad Air, and I restored to it from my most recent iCloud backup. I noticed after the restore from backup that for some reason, the Videos app on the Air is not showing all of my purchased videos, just a couple that were locally downloaded.
I do know about the difference between items purchased but not downloaded and items fully downloaded to the device; the iPad 3, which hasn't been factory restored yet, is doing the expected iOS7 behavior with Show All Videos enabled in the General>Settings>Videos, and also Show All Music and Videos enabled under ITunes and AppStore. As far as I know, all of my purchased music did download and is available in the Music app, and if I go to the iTunes store and select Purchased, the videos are showing there, just not in the Videos app.
Both iPads are running the current iOS build (7.0.4), and both settings above are enabled on the new iPad as well, but the purchased items do not show in the app even with these enabled.
Anything else that I can check for or try, or is this an iCloud-related bug?

I got mine to work, finally.
    Things to check:
    1. Verify that the Apple ID used during setup (or being used for in your settings for both iCloud and the iTunes store) are correct. In my case, the AT&T customer rep used all lower-case in my Apple ID. No ID match, no authentication. No authentication, no communication with the ITunes Store servers, so no ability to see purchases in the cloud. (Rule of thumb - always check the csr's work afterward).
    2. If the AppleID is correct, log out of your iTunes account and iCloud on the Ipad and log back in.
    3. Power down and restart the iPad.
    4. Other than that, verify that the 'show all' settings are enabled.
I did this right before sync'ing music from my iTunes library on my computer (that hadn't been working either), so iTunes (on the computer) also prompted me to re-enter my AppleID and password there - strangely enough, it also fixed the sync'ing problem.
Hope something in the above helps.

  • Pure Digital Point & Shoot videos Not Displaying in iMovie

Just imported some clips from the 60 minute Pure Digital "Point & Shoot" into iMovie on a brand new iMac. The videos play the sound, but give a white screen on the video.
The clips will play from the Point & Shoot software, but not in iMovie.
I downloaded DivX, as I thought that might be the issue, but no go.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Scott:
    Welcome to discussions!
the files that that camera uses are not really MPEG4. So, they need to be converted.
ffmpeg can convert them (needs 2 passes) to real MP4 files that will import to Quick Time or iMovie if you have a G4 or better Mac. The website is below:

  • BBC News Video not displaying/loading

This is an old topic, but I can find no entry since 2006 have I missed something?
I can view YouTube, ITN any number of Quicktime sites, and I can listen to BBC sound only sites but not stream video content.
Running Safari (through Rosetta) doesn't seem to change anything.
Standalone Real Player looks healthy with a request sent to the BBC but nothing happens until it times out.
This Intel iMac has everything up to date, plug ins are in the root directory library and "block pop up" disabled. I have set Real Player prefs for my internet connection speed within Real's menu.
My connection is via Airport, might this be the problem?
I've read endless twaddle from the BBC which I think suggests OS9 and Real Player 8 or some such, while admitting that their original decision to use Windows Media no longer works. Have I gone into some sort of time warp?
I'm not sure what else to try, or is this a BBC/Mac incompatability?

    Hi,
The file type I get is .ram, on Realplayer never used Flip4mac or WMP.
I've selected all the tabs for media type in Real except Quicktime to no great effect.

  • Convert video not compatible with QT7 to use in iMovieHD

Unfortunately sometimes I just have my photo camera and I need to record a video.
It records .mov files with m-jpeg codec 320*240 15fps at aprox. 2000 kbps.
These files are compatible only with QT 6 but not in QT7 or later. I have search about this and I find no solution (just more people with the same problem).
The only solution I found is to convert the files to another format.
The only applications I can use are ffmepx (with some settings) and movieconverter (it converts just to DV or DVD). mpegStreamclip does fail in every export setting.
What will be a good workflow with those files for importing in iMovieHD and then to iDVD?
1.- Convert to DV with movieconverter
2.- Convert to H264 with ffmpegx. In this case: keeping the original resolution of 320*240? and 15fps?
    3.- Any other suggestion?
As an added problem sometimes I have to turn the video 90º. So I need first convert and then open in mpegstreamclip and export again and turn. Can I achieve this without having to convert it two times.

I am trying to import some random videos and get a message "not compatible" - how do I convert these videos?? They are NOT from my video camera, but downloaded.
Unlike previous versions of iMovie, iMovie '08 does not convert "Finder" level files as part of the import process since it cannot tell in which compression format you may wish to edit. Thus, if a file is not "edit" compatible, then it will not be imported. The normal approach is to open your file in the QT Player and examine the file using the "Inspector" and/or "Properties" window to determine how the file must be changed to make it edit compatible. For instance, the audio and/or video track(s) may be incompatible or an extraneous track may be present which "confuses" iMovie '08. "Muxed" files, for instance, must be demuxed and then have audio and video content be converter to temporally synchronized compression formats which can be edited at the "frame" level. Sometimes only the audio content needs to be converted to make the clip compatible. In these cases, it may be possible to easily convert the audio without having to to re-compress the video which is more time consuming and/or may introduce additional artifacts. In still other cases, the file may contain an extraneous track (e.g., a "Tween") which and be deleted or stripped without having to perform any conversion. Therefore, how to "convert" a file for the "best" quality may depend on what needs to be done to make it compatible and/or which application is best suited for the job.
Having said all this, can you examine your downloaded files and break them down in specific problem types and give some idea as to your goals/needs -- i.e., are you most interested in conserving drive space, conversion efficiency, or quality?
