Converting Videos Using Movie ToGo/No Audio

Have a movie that plays in Qicktime and itunes but it won't transfer to new video iPod. I am using a Mac with 10.4.3. I ran to movie using the Digigami MovieToGo converter. Video converted fine but has no audio. I did "Get Info" on the movie file and see it is formatted as a MPEG1 Muxed. It seems this converter (for the Mac) can not convert a movie with both video & audio with a Muxed format. Any ideas for a converter that can indeed handle a Muxed format.

David search then ask (and after you search you won't need to ask) there are enough references to several programs here to choke a horse.

  • Converting video to .mov

    Can Quicktime Pro convert video from one format to .mov format? I have a few mpeg files that I would like to put up on our webpage, but our provider only supports Quicktime Streaming. Therefore I'm guessing that the files would have to be in .mov format.
    If this is possible, then while converting, can you change the viewer size. Say from 800x600 to 320x480 or something along those lines?
    Any help would be greatly apreciated! Thanks in advance!

    For the most part if QT Player Pro can display a movie, video or what ever you want to call it, it can convert it to other formats. There are a couple of exceptions. For muxed mpegs (mpeg-1 and mpeg-2, but not mpeg-4) QT cannot export the sound from the file although it will export the video.
    There is a workaround for that limitation. Windows users can use this freeware to convert meg-1 files to uncompressed avi, from which QT will export both sound and video. Open the mpeg-1 in VDub and use Save as Avi in the File menu to save it as uncompressed avi. The only catch there is that uncompressed avi files are very large so you may have to do the conversion in small segments
    VirtualDub
    One other exception is that the creator of a .mov file can cause a flag to be set that prevents QT from editing or exporting the file to other formats. Those are rather rare, however.

  • Recording video using external iSight and audio using wired input

    I would like to be able to record video using an external iSight camera I have from my old powerbook, but I don't want the audio to record through the internal microphone...I want it to record through a wired input coming off a mixer...is this possible?

    Welcome to iMovie Discussions.
    "..is this possible?.." ..I don't think so. By connecting an external FireWire iSight camera, iMovie expects both the vision and the sound to come in down the same FireWire cable.
    If you need to use a separate audio input, you may be able to do it by connecting a FireWire-capable camcorder (..a tape-based miniDV or HDV camcorder which uses a FireWire connection to attach to a Mac..) and then feeding your mixer's output to the camcorder's external-mic input ..at very low volume, of course, so that you don't wreck the camcorder's input.
    This entails using a camcorder which does have an external-mic (or line) input. That way, the picture from the camcorder will go straight into iMovie, as will the audio which is being fed into the camcorder ..thus both reaching iMovie via the camera's FireWire connection.

  • Problems converting video using Nokia PC Suite for...

    I bought an unlocked Nokia 6300 and have tried to move videos from my desktop to my phone through the Nokia PC Suite. I have upgraded the firmware on my phone to 5.00 (latest update available according to the Nokia updater program). When I try to transfer videos through the PC Suite, it converts the video file to MP4, which apparently is not supported on my phone. There is no option to convert to 3GP format through the PC Suite, which is the only format I have gotten to work using a 3rd party program.
    Anyone have a solution to the issue?

    Hi zlandar,
    Nokia Video Manager's (NVM) work is to convert the supported video files into .mp4 format. So NVM is doing its job withoug any fail. Its your handset 6300 which doesnot support the .mp4 file SO its better you can look for some 3rd party genuine video converter which will do the needful to you Have a great day

  • Need expert advice to import and convert video using Windows COM SDK

    Hi,
    Does anybody know can I import a video file and convert the footage to iPod compatible format using vbscript?
    I found a COM function 'convertfile', but it seems only work with audio and doesn't work with mpg files. Does the current version of COM SDK 6.0.2.23 support conversion of mpg?
    Set iTunesApp = WScript.CreateObject("iTunes.Application")
    Status = iTunesApp.ConvertFile("m:\test.mpg")
    Thanks in advance.
    Intel   Windows XP Pro

    Thanks, but I know iTunes 6 (windows version) has a built-in function to convert a video to a format for iPod G5. That's why I wonder if the iTunes Windows COM SDK has the function call so that I can automatically import my scheduled recording to iPod. I think that's the advantage of iTunes / iPod. Actually I love my iPod G3 and iPod mini, but I don't see a reason for me to upgrade to G5 if it only accept H264 and mp4 because all my recordings (directly from my TV card) are only mpeg format and there is currently no command line tools to convert them for iPod. I know a bit of programming and it is much more conveninent to use scripts to do the mpg -> ipod conversion automatically than doing it manually using GUI programs..
    Thanks

  • Play YouTube Video Using Movie URL

    InDesign CS3
    Hello,
    Is it possible to insert a movie that uses a URL to a video on YouTube?  YouTube URL's do not contain the actual file name/type and I believe that is why I am unable to play the video - however I thought I would check and see if anyone has had success doing this.
    My goal is to be able to play the YouTube video within the exported PDF.

  • Drag and Drop to Batch Convert Videos Using FFMPEG

    I've created this simple Applescript that will run an FFMPEG command in the Terminal (which I want to show so that I can see the progress) on files dropped on the MTS to Cropped MPG.app icon:
    on open filelist
              repeat with i in filelist
                        tell application "Terminal"
                                  do script "/Users/Lapaki/Desktop/MTS\ to\ Cropped\ MPG.app/Contents/Resources/ffmpeg -i " & POSIX path of i & " -vf crop=iw-360:1080:180:0 -f dvd -vcodec mpeg2video -s 720x480 -r 29.97 -acodec ac3 -ar 48000 -ab 448000 -async 1 -aspect 4:3 -b 4500000 " & POSIX path of i & ".mpg"
                        end tell
              end repeat
    end open
    I'd like to make this app portable so that I can share it or move it around as needed, so I put FFMPEG inside the Contents/Resources folder inside the app. The obvious problem is that the script will break as soon as I move the app to a different location. Is there a way to write the dynamic path of the app itself, no matter where it is moved, so that the app won't break when shared or moved?
    This script also only works on a single video file. What I'd really like to do is drop a folder (which will always be called "mts") onto the app, and have the script create a new folder called "mpg" in the same directory as "mts", then batch convert all the .mts files in the "mts" folder, placing each new .mpg file into the "mpg" folder.
    I'd also like the .mpg files to retain the same name as the .mts files, but instead of just appending .mpg, I'd like the .mpg to replace the .mts extension. So 00001.mts would be 00001.mpg (not 00001.mts.mpg as the current script generates).
    Any help here would be much appreciated.

    Tony,
    quoted form of worked perfectly!
    Now to the batching...
    In my case there will never be nested directories. There will simply a folder called "mts" with at least one, but perhaps many .mts files, all named sequentially (00000.MTS, 00001.MTS, and so on).
    So I'm having trouble figuring out how to integrate this:
    on process_files_(fs)
              repeat with f in fs
                        tell application "System Events" to set finfo to the properties of f
                        if kind of finfo is "Folder" then
                                  tell application "Finder" to set dirList to (items in f) as alias list
      process_files_(dirList) -- recurse directories
                        else if tolower(«class extn» of finfo) is not equal to "flac" then
                                  tell me to activate
                                  tell me to display dialog (name of finfo & " is not a Flac file") with iconcaution giving up after 2
                        else
                                  try
                                            with timeout of 30000 seconds -- plenty of time
                                                      my itunes_convert_(f)
                                            end timeout
                                  end try
                        end if
              end repeat
    end process_files_
    With this:
    on open filelist
              repeat with i in filelist
                        tell application "Terminal"
                                  do script quoted form of (POSIX path of (path to me) & "Contents/Resources/ffmpeg" as string) & " -i " & POSIX path of i & " -vf crop=iw-360:1080:180:0 -f dvd -vcodec mpeg2video -s 720x480 -r 29.97 -acodec ac3 -ar 48000 -ab 448000 -async 1 -aspect 4:3 -b 4500000 " & POSIX path of i & ".mpg"
                        end tell
              end repeat
    end open
    Again, it would be great to just drop a folder called "mts" onto the application, and have it convert all the .mts files inside and put them in a new folder called "mpg", which would be in the same directory as the "mts" folder.
    Any way to make this happen?

  • ITunes 7.6 No Audio When Playing a Music Video or Movie

    I just installed iTunes 7.6.0.29 (It was released today).
    There is no audio when playing a music video or a movie that I've purchased. Movie trailers and music videos in the iTunes store have no audio either. Videos from iTunes University that I've downloaded (such as an MIT lecture) play fine w/ audio.
    Music audio (such as tracks I've purchased or tracks on the iTunes store) play fine.
    QuickTime videos, such as a QT video on my desktop play fine. Windows Media Player works fine too.
    So, why don't music videos and movies play (w/audio) on iTunes 7.6??

    I'm experiencing what appears to be the exact same issue. I just installed iTunes 7.6.
    Video but no audio:
    Purchased iTunes TV episodes
    Streamed video trailers in the iTunes Store
    Works fine:
    All music files, including protected files purchased through iTunes
    The standalone Quicktime player performs normally with MOV files. Windows Media Player still performs normally.
    I found an old support doc complaining of a similar issue with a previous iTunes release and tried the suggested fix: Uninstalling Quicktime and reinstalling it using the standalone installer (Quicktime 7.4). I also reinstalled iTunes. Neither solved the issue.
    I'm very disappointed that I can no longer access the files I've purchased. I hope this is fixed very soon.

  • Converting Video

    I'm having some issues converting video using VLC. I'm tring to converting some files as .wmv, .avi and mp4 to mpg but some files work well and some of then doesn't work in DMP 4400.
    Please what software can you recommend to me and a good parameters to convert then.

    Lucio,
    I would suggest looking at the Cisco MXE-3500:
    Cisco Media Experience Engine (MXE) 3500

    For 3rd party software based solutions,  I have had
    success with:
    * VLC
    * Visual Hub
    * Prism Video Trancoder
    * Any Video Converter
    * Kigo Video Converter
    * MAC Video Converter
    * iSkySoft Video Converter
    Make sure that you check the DMP-4400 Data Sheet to verify
    that you are using the correct video formats to be played on the DMP:

  • NO AUDIO during playback after converting the VIDEO using Creative Video Conver

    I have a ZEN 2GB/4GB/8GB/6GB/32GB.
    I tried to convert video from a dvd using Creative Video Converter.
    The video is fine but there is no audio during playback.
    What am I doing wrong?

    "If this is the case, the original video file may be in a format that contains muxed (multiplexed) audio and video, and cannot be exported with audio."..."If the format is "MPEG1 Muxed" or "MPEG2 Muxed," the audio portion of the file may not be retained with QuickTime Pro or iMovie."
    I have read that article and I thought it ment that the sound will work after you convert to the MPEG4 format, which I did.
    Are you saying that if it starts out as "Muxed audio" then there is no way to convert it?
    If that is the case then in what situation would you need to use the Videora Converter?
    Thanks,
    Sean
