Converting Word 2010 to .pdf
I can't get my Word 2010 document to convert to pdf. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9
Acrobat 9's PDFMaker does not support Office 2010 applications. You can "File | Print" to the Adobe PDF virtual printer or use the Microsoft Save As PDF - XPS feature.

Missing images when converting Words 2010 to PDF (Acrobat 9.0)
Hi,
I tried to convert documents from docx (2010) to pfd, but some images went missing. When I tried to convert using CutePDF, other images were 'discoloured'!!
Anyone with the same problem? They are missing.. for example, i have this graphics with a few circles within a circle (different tones of blue). The pdf document only shows the 'outer' circle, whereas the inner circles are gone. Another is that I have a blue/grey graphic against a white background, with a text box with words on top of it. When printed, the text box is 'under' the graphic instead (I can see part of the text box on the white background)

Acrobat 11 Standard Office 2010 Pro Convert Word documents to PDF not working
Adobe community,
I can create PDF's inside Word 2010 using the Acrobat Add-in but right clicking a Word document or dragging a Word document into Adobe Acrobat 11 Standard does not work. I have updated both Acrobat 11 and Office 2010 with the latest updates available. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Hi markl16215442,
In order to convert word document to PDF by right-clicking or dragging the file, you must have Adobe PDF printer installed.
For Windows, please check that Adobe PDF is set as default printer under "Start > Devices and Printers"
While for MAC, Adobe PDF printer option is no more available and as it was removed with some changes in Apple's policy regarding virtual printers.
So, check with your OS and then let me know.

I converted a 253 page document from Word 2010 to pdf using Adobe Professional 8. The pdf fike only had 251 pages. Why?
Word documents don't have a fixed page layout; Word reflows freely if it wants. This isn't normally a problem unless things like typing page numbers is done; avoid that.

Problem converting word 2010 Document
I am having a problem converting a Word 2010 document using Live
Cycle Designer ES2. I get the following
error msg:
Word (version XP onwards) could not be found
Word 2010 is installed.I have just run into this issue myself. At first I thought it might be that LiveCycle is not yet fully compatible with Office 2010 but after doing some googling it seems there are plenty of folks out there successfully converting Word 2010 documents to PDF.
As a temporary workaround, you could try a copy of an earlier version of Word should one be available to you.
If I'm able to find a solution to the issue, I'll let you know promptly.

Not able to convert word file to PDF using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard
Hi,
I am not able to convert word file to PDF using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. When I try to convert, it starts the process and in between I am getting this prompt, as shown in figure below and the conversion process stops. The PDF is not created.
Note: The filename 'Acr85.doc' in the above prompt keeps changing and is random.
I tried clicking Yes, No and Cancel on the above prompt, but the conversion process just stops and PDF is not getting generated.
I am able to create PDFs from web pages. No issues with that. Not working only with Word.
Can someone help me with this.
Thanks,
Vinay Jaassiel Kankipati
Technical WriterIn MSWord please changes the settings as "Adobe PDF" menu => "Change Conversion Settings" goto Tab Bookmark and clicks the option Convert Word Bookmarks. Now you convert the Doc to PDF you can achieve the Bookmark.

I just installed Adobe XI Pro through the download assistant, it looks the installation went well, but when I tried to convert word files into PDF (tried many times), it failed. Anyone has the same problems, any solutions?
Please reply with more information - what your operating system is, do you have Office installed, and what exactly is happening. Is there an error message, does the application crash, and from where are you starting the conversion (using Word and PDFMaker, using Acrobat's Create button, or batch processing).

why would adobe acrobat 9 standard stop working for converting word docs to pdf?
Are you running at least version 9.2 of Acrobat? Are you able to log in with a new user account on Windows to see if it works?

Reader x will not allow me to convert word files to pdf
reader x will not let me convert word files to pdf's, even word files that have been converted before. unable to get support through adobe...
The free Reader has never been able to do much more than reading (opening) PDF files. It has never had the capacity to convert any kind of file to any other format. If you could do it before, you must have been using another Adobe program/service.

How to batch convert Word files to pdf
How do I batch convert Word files to pdf using Automator
Here is a drag/drop AppleScript solution that uses the command-line LibreOffice capability to convert MS Word (.doc, .docx) files into PDF. Drag/Drop a single file, or a folder of Word documents, and it will write the respective PDF back to the original file location. When it is done, an OS X Notification will slide out onto the Desktop and provide the count of processed files.
Save this AppleScript as a Desktop application that remains open after running. If you ignore the latter, the notification will not show when it is done. Tested on Mavericks 10.9.5.
property name_extension : {"doc", "docx"}
global fileCnt
on open of finderObjects
set fileCnt to 0
repeat with i in (finderObjects)
if folder of (info for i) is true then
tell application "Finder" to set temp to (entire contents of i)
repeat with j in (temp)
process_files(j)
end repeat
else
process_files(i)
end if
end repeat
display notification "Processed Files: " & fileCnt with title "Word2PDF" subtitle "Processing Complete"
end open
on process_files(fname)
set cmd to "/Applications/LibreOffice.app/Contents/MacOS/soffice "
set cmdArgs to "--headless --convert-to pdf:writer_pdf_Export --outdir "
tell application "Finder"
set nameExt to name extension of fname
set outDir to do shell script "dirname " & POSIX path of (fname as alias)
if name extension of fname is in name_extension then
try
do shell script cmd & cmdArgs & outDir & space & POSIX path of (fname as alias)
set fileCnt to fileCnt + 1
on error errorMessage number errorNumber
display alert "Processing Error: " message "[ " & errorNumber & " ] " & errorMessage
