Converting Word Form & Textfields
Hi,
I am using Acorbat Pro 9 and try to convert an existing Microsoft Word form to pdf. The word file contains text, checkboxes and text input fields.
The checkboxes are converted correctly and the plain text, too.
But the text input boxes are missing after conversion?
Is there an option to include them? The word file is perfectly designed and adding all the fields again is rather much work.
What I do not understand is, that check boxes are converted correctly but text fields are not?
Thanks for your help,
Christian
It's separate program which bundles with Acrobat Pro and above.
Be aware that
- For Designer import to work correctly, the fields in word document should be real fields and not underlines/underscores.
- Designer created different kind of forms from what Acrobat does. Both generate forms but with different technologies. So depending on what you do next with the form, you might have to do more work.

I am converting a form from Word to PDF. The form includes several tables and the tables are converting with weird lines where the corners meet. I've tried everything. I've even retyped a portion of the form and tried importing it but it still had the weird lines. I'd rather not recreate the form in PDF because it's not short and I already have a perfectly good form to import. Any suggestions?
What version of Word? What version of Acrobat? How exactly are you converting the file?

URGENT: convert pdf Form to Word Form
Ihave a filled in pdf form and a blank form and I need to convert each to a Word form. acro pro 7 If I had vers 8.0 pro, would the steps be any different?
what is the fastest way to do this? The boss says the pdf form is not flexible enough but I cannot ask her more at this moment. As long as you have been using Acrobat, I am surprised that your boss would have such a question. I thought of one possibility if the form fields are not retained in WORD, but don't know if it will work. You could try to save as HTML (I usually have best luck with HTML 3) and then open that in WORD. That might give you a back door to keep the form fields in much the same way opening a HTML form in Acrobat retains the form fields. Just a thought if the WORD save does not work.
In terms of flexibility, it is a simple matter to create the form (without fields) in WORD (the master document), make changes, and create a new PDF. Then the modified pages can simply be used to replace those in the old form (don't forget to work on a copy). I guess that is the second idea that is probably the route you were planning to take. Again, bood luck with the boss and with WORD. Bill -

We noticed this problem when we tried to combine two word (.doc files) together and form a pdf. The same word files are getting combined to pdf when we are using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on the same system. Only in Ver XI we are facing this problem. Word form to pdf form fields conversion
Does anyone have any expereince with converting form Word
form with active
x controls to pdf form fields - any help would be appreciated
Ann SteerNo. What you can do, though, is after you edit your file create a new static PDF from it, open your old PDF and then use the Replace Pages command, selecting the new PDF file as the one to insert. This will replace the underlying PDF content while keeping all the form fields in tact. You then might need to adjust them a bit, but it's much less work then re-doing the entire form.

How to convert 6i forms to 10g
hello,
please tell me how to convert 6i forms into 10g forms
i cant find ne way to do that.If your forms are not all integrated with each other, in other words some are for Payrole and others are for Inventory, you could maintain an AS 1.0.2 environment for one function and an AS 10.1.2 environment for another. You can access the same database assuming you are running the latest Forms 6i version (unless you are not interested or concerned about using an Oracle Certified configuration). The latest (and last) Forms 6i release supported for non-Oracle Applications customers is 6.0.8.26 (Patch 17) and can be downloaded from Metalink.
Of course, the above configuration would mean that the URL to each application would differ because they would likely be on different machines and/or use different port numbers. For example:
http://system1.com:7777/servlet/f60servlet?form=payrole.fmx
http://system2.com:7780/forms/frmservlet?form=inventory.fmx
Bottom line is that all forms modules running in a particular AS environment must be of the same version. So, forms running in AS 10.1.2 must be compiled against Forms 10.1.2. Forms running in AS 1.0.2 must all be compiled against Forms 6.0.8 -

I need assistance on this issue:
"Enter Description of Issue:
We are trying to implement a solution to automatically convert Word documents generated by Siebel to PDF's in order to mail them to customers.
I see from other support requests you advice to find 3rd part software to do this. Can you tell me if you know of any 3rd party software that another Siebel customer has been able to use to do this?
We wish to call this software fom script or workflow so that the converted document can then be attached back into siebel and mailed to a customer.
I understand the principle of how we can get documents from the file system and then using com or a command line call an application that will do the conversion, but as yet we have not found a good 3rd party software to do the conversion."
So far, I suggest one Enhancement Request(12-161Y57N) to customer but seems is not enough.
The last update from customer side, was:
"Is it possible to just give me a plain answer to my main question.
Do you know of any other customers who have similar functionality and do you know what application they sed to do the conversion? "
Do you have any idea on regards on PDF converter?
Edited by: user808626 on 05.06.2009 02:49Hi,
Can we convert the word doc to PDF using PI intarface.
I think it is not possible convert the word doc to PDF. Since they are Proprietary format of Microsoft and Adobe respectively
my source system sends a doc file & I have to convert it into a PDF doc and then further I have to sent it to target,
You might have to convert the word document to PDF using available software and then send to target system
You might have to develop some module program to convert.
There is one similar blog which explains conversion from XML to PDF. It might help you

Not able to convert word file to PDF using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard
Hi,
I am not able to convert word file to PDF using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. When I try to convert, it starts the process and in between I am getting this prompt, as shown in figure below and the conversion process stops. The PDF is not created.
Note: The filename 'Acr85.doc' in the above prompt keeps changing and is random.
I tried clicking Yes, No and Cancel on the above prompt, but the conversion process just stops and PDF is not getting generated.
I am able to create PDFs from web pages. No issues with that. Not working only with Word.
Can someone help me with this.
Thanks,
Vinay Jaassiel Kankipati
Technical WriterIn MSWord please changes the settings as "Adobe PDF" menu => "Change Conversion Settings" goto Tab Bookmark and clicks the option Convert Word Bookmarks. Now you convert the Doc to PDF you can achieve the Bookmark.

Acrobat 11 Standard Office 2010 Pro Convert Word documents to PDF not working
Adobe community,
I can create PDF's inside Word 2010 using the Acrobat Add-in but right clicking a Word document or dragging a Word document into Adobe Acrobat 11 Standard does not work. I have updated both Acrobat 11 and Office 2010 with the latest updates available. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Hi markl16215442,
In order to convert word document to PDF by right-clicking or dragging the file, you must have Adobe PDF printer installed.
For Windows, please check that Adobe PDF is set as default printer under "Start > Devices and Printers"
While for MAC, Adobe PDF printer option is no more available and as it was removed with some changes in Apple's policy regarding virtual printers.
So, check with your OS and then let me know.

I just installed Adobe XI Pro through the download assistant, it looks the installation went well, but when I tried to convert word files into PDF (tried many times), it failed. Anyone has the same problems, any solutions?
Please reply with more information - what your operating system is, do you have Office installed, and what exactly is happening. Is there an error message, does the application crash, and from where are you starting the conversion (using Word and PDFMaker, using Acrobat's Create button, or batch processing).
