Converting word to number in RTF.

Hi All,
I have requirement to display a nuumber. But I dont have that field directly, Instead I have field in words. Now I have to conevrt it into number first and then display it.
example:
I have field "tweleve thousand one hundred and twenty ********"
But I want to display it as 12120.
is it acheivable ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Uva.

Acrobat works with page layouts that are already fixed before it starts, it has no idea of a margin. So all the setup is in Word. Word sometimes changes layout as the PDF is made. To minmize this, choose the Adobe PDF printer before making the PDF (even if you don't directly use the printer).

Michael's reponse is correct. However, as far as I knew, OFFICE 2007 came with printer metrics turned off, meaning it is not supposed to be sensitive to the printer selection. The setting is buried in the options list for compatibility. If it is turned off and a change in printer does affect the result, it would appear just one more of the many things in OFFICE 2007 that MS messed up. The latest one for me has been helping students with the messed up equation editor when you want to add equation numbers in a "standard" way. One of the MS employees even wrote a workaround macro for that problem.

  • Trouble converting Word to PDF

I have been using acrobat.com to convert word documents into PDF without a problem for about a month.  All of a sudden, today, when I tried to convert a Word document, it stalled and was "converting" for a very long time and would not ultimately convert.  Can someone please walk me through correcting this problem?  Thank you.

It's like that the problem lies with either your internet connection OR the Acrobat.com service. If you have verified that your internet connection is strong, we suggest that you wait a while and then try again. Depending on the size of the file (the limit is 200 MB) and the number of other users currently using the service, there are intermittent interruptions/slowness on Acrobat.com that could cause the delay.

  • Problem converting Word document with TOC table

    Hello,
I am using MsWord 2003 and Acrobat 9 in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits.
I have created the manual using Word, I set Heading (s) with 3 levels deep and created TOC in Word.
It looks as designed. There are Titles, Subtitles and Subtiles (3rd level).
TOC in Word works fine. No problem.
In PDFMaker options under Bookmarks tab I set TOC 1 with 3 levels.
However, after converting the whole document into PDF, the Bookmarks look very strange.
They contain only Titles (no subtitles at all), each bookmark line ends with some number 3, 4 or 5 which I do not have idea what are they and those bollmarks point to the TOC page not to the page they should have.
What is wrong and how can I correct that?
    Thanks,
    jas
    Added:
I have read many of posts having similiar problems and tried all the suggestions posted.
    I tried:
    1.
Reinstalling Adobe (removing all the related files), although I did not have any previous versions (and installations) of Acrobat in this computer.
    2.
In Adobe PDFMaker  uncheck 'Enable Accessibility and...' option
    3.
    Setting printer to Adobe PDF
    4.
In Word > TOC settings I checked the 'Use hyperlinks instead of page numbers' option
Also I tried In Adobe PDFMaker not use TOC but to use 'Convert Word Headings to Bookmarks'
The result was horrible. Double bookmarks, reversed Level 1 with Level 2 positions and lots of empty bookmarks (I believe created by empty rows in pages tables).
Please note, that using the same Headings Word creates TOC without any problems!
The only plus side was that some of those bookmarks came with correct links.
Those bokkmarks were created using 'New Bookmarks from structure' option in Acrobat (after converting the document)
    /jas

    This is ridiculous!
I think it is time for Adobe to admit there is a problem creating bookmarks in Acrobat, regardless the used version.
Today I spent all day trying different combinations.
In addition to my post above I installed and tested the same document in Acrobat Prof ver.8 and Acrobat X.
The installation was virgin (no previous Adobe was installed).
Same for MS Office. Virgin installation of ver. 2003 and 2007
My document I copied and pasted in blank new Word document.
Also I tried under Windows XP
All that does not make any difference.
The final result was always the same, as shown graphically in above post.
    Any ideas?
What I do not understand, how such big corporation allows bugs like that.
Convertning TOC (nice working in Word) cannot be a rocket science!
If Word can create TOC from Headings flawlessly, why not Adobe?
That TOC is correctly converted as TOC page in pdf document.
Maybe Adobe should add the option to create bookmarks directly from it after the conversion?!
As I said, it is not a rocket science.
    Onus is on you, Adobe!

  • Problem converting Word Documents into pdf

Hi Folks - and Happy New Year to You!
    I'm using version Adobe 7.0.
I written an e-book and can't get the darn thing to convert into a pdf file. Sometimes it works -- sometimes it doesn't.
I suspect the problem is with my many embedded graphics. I have created Microsoft Powerpoint slides, and have cut and pasted them into my ebook as objects inserted between the paragraphs of text.
When converting from the "Convert to Adobe PDF" button in my Word Toolbar, it gets all the way through and finally has an error at the end saying: "an error occured while creating a temporary file; Word was unable to write some of the embedded objects due to insufficient memory or disk space"
I have Adobe set with a password to protect copying, and the Word file size is around 1Mb.
My computer is only a year old, and I have 23 Gb of free space.
I'm using Windows Professional XP and Word 2002
Please reply asap or email me on [email address deleted by host]
    You Have My Best Regards

    Hi,
I have tried to get this right for a few days now Finally found some info at
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=330729
    See point 2 below.
Creating PDF files by using PDFMaker
You can convert Word files from within either Word or Acrobat. Because both applications use PDFMaker, you can achieve the same results in either application.
To create a PDF file from within Word:
    1. Exit from all applications except Word to minimize processing time. To further minimize processing time, complete the following:
-- If the document contains several fonts, either reduce the number of fonts or replace TrueType fonts with Type 1 fonts.
-- If the document contains large or complex tables, reduce the number of columns and rows.
    2. If the document contains hyperlinks, make sure that the page margins are .8 inch or larger.
    3. To add features such as font embedding and compression to your PDF file, choose Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings. (To create customized job options settings with these features, edit the conversion settings. For more information, see "Editing the PDFMaker Conversion Settings" in the Acrobat Help.)
Isn't it totally obvious to anyone that the margins have to be at least 0.8 inches for hyperlinks to work.....
I made a new page format slightly larger and increased the margins. After making the PDF file i trimmed it in Adobe. Worked like a dream...

  • Converting Word 2007 files to PDF

    Hi,
When I convert Word 2007 file to PDF via Acrobat Pro. 9, The Section Titles show on the bookmark area are as usual, but the Section number for the titles are disappear. For Example: the title set as "1.1 Test", the bookmark shows only "Test" and the "1.1" is disappeared. (the title assigned as style heading 3 and the section number is generated by multi-level list).
I have been converting Word 2003 file via Acrobat Pro. 7 and Word 2007 file Via Acrobat 8.1, they are all fine.
I tried to change settings on PDFmaker for Acorbat Pro 9 and failed. I also checked through the manual and found nothing. Can anyone tell me how to have both the section number and title show on the Bookmark section of PDF file with my present MS Word 2007 setting (the title assigned as style heading 3 and the section number is generated by multi-level list)?
    Thanks,
    Jeffrey

    Steve, Samnol,
Thanks for your advice and sorry for the late reponse because I tried to re-install Acrobat 8 and 9 and see if anything changed.
The good news I got from this weekend is that the problem regarding the "Missing of section numbers in the Bookmark when I converted the Word 2007 to PDF" has been resolved after I update the patch published on 01 March 2009.  I will keep running Rev 9 on trail basis and work out the recommendation to the company.  I am glad that I can get rid of the old Office 2003 and Acrobat 7 for the time being.  It has been a heck for me to run dual Office system.
    Thanks again for the advise.

  • Converting Word Documents, PDF, Powerpoint to BLOB types using HTTP DB

I designed a knowledge base using httpdb and it's working out well. It's great finally have our documentation contained in an Oracle database as opposed to Windows folders Word dcouments. The only issue is that some of our word documents contain images along with text. When I cut and paste the content into the text area field/CLOB the images do not paste. I also tried this using text with HTML and got closer but image did not appear after pasting into the text html field. Is there a way to cut and paste word doc content and images into an http db application ?

  • How to batch convert Word files to pdf

How do I batch convert Word files to pdf using Automator

Here is a drag/drop AppleScript solution that uses the command-line LibreOffice capability to convert MS Word (.doc, .docx) files into PDF. Drag/Drop a single file, or a folder of Word documents, and it will write the respective PDF back to the original file location. When it is done, an OS X Notification will slide out onto the Desktop and provide the count of processed files.
Save this AppleScript as a Desktop application that remains open after running. If you ignore the latter, the notification will not show when it is done. Tested on Mavericks 10.9.5.
    property name_extension : {"doc", "docx"}
    global fileCnt

  • How to insert a word document or an RTF document into RichTextEditor?

How to insert a word document or an RTF document into af:richTextEditor. I am using Apache POI for reading the Word document and getting its contents. I am able to display the whole content of the document except the table and image within the document. The data in the table is getting displayed as a string and not as a table inside the editor.
Can we insert a word/RTF document into a rich text editor?
Can we insert images into the rich text editor?
The following is the code that I used. On clicking a button the word document has to be inserted into the <af:richTextEditor>.
    <af:richTextEditor id="rte1" autoSubmit="true"
    immediate="true"
    columns="110" rows="20">

    Hi,
images are not yet supported. Its an open enhancement request for the rich text editor.
For tables, it seems they are supported but in a basic way (just HTML 4 style) if I interpret the tag documentation correct

  • Is there a way to convert skype online number cont...

That was the general question, and here are my details:
I have had a skype number for many years and it was great, around $5.5 a month to call all phones in North America from my laptop from any place in the world with internet. With time, I had a ccumulated a relatively large number of contacts (name of person or party & their phone number(s)). Now I decided that I finally need a regular "smart" cellphone with an AT &T 10c/minute and no data (that's the only way that I understand is not a rip-off, I'm counting on my really unlimited mobile hotspot to get wifi). Now, the company will have me purchase minutes every 30 days which doesn't look very bad considering that I don't have my wifi all the time.
The problem I'm having is, how to transfer or convert the name/number list on skype to name/number list on my phone? so I can call the same numbers I used to call on slype with my AT&T minutes?
Typing the numbers one-by-one to my phone may take days!! so, I figured out that there must be away to do it automatically, rather than manually.
    Any help is very appreciated

Is there any answer skype people?????
    please!

  • Converting a hex number to binary

How do you convert a hexadecimal number to the actual 1's and 0's of binary? I am using labview 6i. Also I will eventually need the binary to be a string. Thanks.

Converting for numeric display is quite simple. All you do is on the control/indicator, show the radix, and set it to the desired setting.
Setting up to display the binary in text is a bit more tricky. You need to insert a "Format Value" function in and wire "%b" to the format string. This will cause the output to change to binary.
    Good luck

  • Convert Word doc to PDF

I need assistance on this issue:
    "Enter Description of Issue:
We are trying to implement a solution to automatically convert Word documents generated by Siebel to PDF's in order to mail them to customers.
I see from other support requests you advice to find 3rd part software to do this. Can you tell me if you know of any 3rd party software that another Siebel customer has been able to use to do this?
We wish to call this software fom script or workflow so that the converted document can then be attached back into siebel and mailed to a customer.
I understand the principle of how we can get documents from the file system and then using com or a command line call an application that will do the conversion, but as yet we have not found a good 3rd party software to do the conversion."
So far, I suggest one Enhancement Request(12-161Y57N) to customer but seems is not enough.
The last update from customer side, was:
"Is it possible to just give me a plain answer to my main question.
Do you know of any other customers who have similar functionality and do you know what application they sed to do the conversion? "
Do you have any idea on regards on PDF converter?

    Hi,
Can we convert the word doc to PDF using PI intarface.
I think it is not possible convert the word doc to PDF. Since they are Proprietary  format of Microsoft and Adobe respectively
my source system sends a doc file & I have to convert it into a PDF doc and then further I have to sent it to target,
You might have to convert the word document to PDF using available software and then send to target system
You might have to develop some module program to convert.
There is one similar blog which explains conversion from XML to PDF. It might help you

  • Not able to convert word file to PDF using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard

    Hi,
I am not able to convert word file to PDF using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. When I try to convert, it starts the process and in between I am getting this prompt, as shown in figure below and the conversion process stops. The PDF is not created.
Note: The filename 'Acr85.doc' in the above prompt keeps changing and is random.
I tried clicking Yes, No and Cancel on the above prompt, but the conversion process just stops and PDF is not getting generated.
I am able to create PDFs from web pages. No issues with that. Not working only with Word.
Can someone help me with this.
