    Hi Heeli.
    To convert CD Audio to WAV/MP3 search 'cd audio ripper' in
    Google. First one that came up when I searched now is
    Audiograbber which I've used and is quite good.
    You can also sear WAV to MP3 to convert. Since Director is
    now part of Adobe, I'll mention Adobe Audition (Windows Only)
    which can do this. It's a powerful audio editing program that
    can work with WAVs and MP3s. It's much more than just a
    converter.
    If you have WAV files, you may try convert them to SWA in
    Director. Xtras menu - Convert WAV to SWA (Windows only).

  • I just converted wav to mp3, but now I can't locate the files.

    I just converted wav to mp3, but now I can't locate the files.

    make sure you have the exact path written correctly. If you can, show what the filename is in itunes, and the filename when you are looking at the song files (i.e. through my comuter). Make sure these are the same, and that they are all usable itunes formats.

  • Converting wav to mp3 (mpeglayer3)?

    using JMF, i've managed to convert the wav file to mp3 (mpegaudio: 22050Hz : 16bps : stereo), i just have a problem in playing it in some players. So...
    is it possible to convert the same wav file (linear : 22050Hz: 16bps : stereo) to
    mp3 (mpeglayer3 : 22050Hz : 16bps : stereo), so i could play it in any player?
    Kind regards!

    Hi,
    Could you help me in identifying where I am wrong in my code, where I am trying to convert a wav to mp3 using JMF and Java MP3 plugin:
    Processor p = new MediaProcessor();
    p.start();
    MediaLocator source = new MediaLocator ("file://E:/workspace2/Test/ALSNDMGR.wav");
    DataSource d = Manager.createDataSource(source);
    p.setSource(d);
    p.configure();
    TrackControl[] tc = p.getTrackControls();
    tc[0].setFormat(new AudioFormat(AudioFormat.MPEGLAYER3));
    p.realize();
    p.setContentDescriptor(new ContentDescriptor (FileTypeDescriptor.MPEG_AUDIO));
    DataSource ds = p.getDataOutput();
    MediaLocator destination = new MediaLocator ("file://E:/workspace2/Test/Test.wav");
    DataSink sink = Manager.createDataSink(ds, destination);
    sink.open();
    sink.start();
    sink.close();
    p.stop();
    Is there any other way to convert audio files to mp3? Please help.

  • Converting from WAV to MP3 using Creative MediaSou

    I am trying to convert from WAV to MP3 using Creative Media Source Version 3.30.35. The program says it is converting the file to MP3 but when it has finished and I examine the properties it still says the file format is WAV. Can anyone shed any light on this, thanks?

    It doesn't change the original file - it creates a new file in the new format. Check where your file destination is set to in the Audio Converter screen.

  • Convert zvr to wav/mp3/ogg

    hi!
    i have a digital voice recorder which records to *.zvr-files. i installed gstreamer0.10-plugins to have all plugins available, but it doesn't seem that any gstreamer-plugin can handle this files.
    is there a way to convert *.zvr files to wav, mp3, ogg or to another common audio-format?
    i already tried the windows-software delivered with the voice recorder. the software works, it plays the zvr-files. but if i use it's function to convert zvr to wav it just creates a *.wav file of 480 bytes which doesn't work.
    there's another conerter for windows: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ZVR_Converter.htm
    it produces the same useless, tiny *.wav files like the voice-recorder-software.
    any ideas?
    btw: it's a (philips voice tracer 7655)

    There's several apps to convert WMA files, you might want to take a look at Switch.

    Well, I've done a similar script myself for my personal use: Audioconvert.
    Type ./audiocovert.sh --help for help. To convert a wma file to mp3 do
    ./audioconvert.sh --format mp3 file.wma
    I hope this one helps you.
    I saved your script in a folder full of wave files, entered:
    $ ./audioconvert.sh --format mp3 Intro.wma
    And got:
    -bash: ./audioconvert.sh: Permission denied
    Permissions and ownership aren't the problem, as I get the same thing as root, any ideas?

  • After mixing a project i select bounce and burn the disc that is burned plays on any cd player but when i try to burn the wav or mp3 file that was created the resulting disc will only play in a computer this also happens with video projects help please

    after mixing a project i select bounce and burn the disc that is burned plays on any cd player but when i try to burn the wav or mp3 file that was created the resulting disc will only play in a computer this also happens with video projects help please are there any settings i need to alter as it seems the wav or mp3 file i ceated is being converted to a data file somewhere between the folder and disc drive

    Same thing for a movie file.. If you want to play back the movie via a DVD and a DVD player you must create a Movie DVD  and not just burn files to a data DVD... as Data DVDs are just storage devices for files and therefore will only work with computers...
    Movie DVDs are special formats that include things like menus and special file formats.. so they can playback via a DVD Player...
    You will need a 3rd party DVD Burning app like Toast which is what i actually use.... or the more popular DVD Creator app...to create and then burn a Movie DVD that will playback on a DVD Player....

    I've looked at Omar Mefire's (http://omefire.blogspot.com) solution and it seems to do what I want.

  • Help with converting an .aac file to .mp3!

    Is there anyway in iTunes to convert your entire library into a .mp3 file without it creating duplicates? Or is there a way to make it create the duplicates and then select every other song to easly get rid of the older .aac file?
    Thanks for your help!!!

    Would this work for me...? My problem is that I have about 6000 .WAV songs I've put from all my CD collection into my external 400 GB drive library. After a year of using my computer as a jukebox, I also decided to get an Ipod Shuffle, and would like to periodically put MP3 formatted songs on it from my library. So far, I've been 'converting' them in Itunes to mp3 (keeping the wav's of course) then smartlisting (by size) the mp3's into a playlist to put on the Ipod. The problem is that even though the mp3s are small, I don't want to use up disk space on the external drive for those essentially duplicate and only temporarily needed files. I know I can delete them manually after putting them on my Ipod, but that's lots of chances to accidentally delete a wav by mistake or otherwise screw up and waste time.
    I'd really just like to create a separate physical place on my internal drive as the 'destination' and then convert a few hundred (or even all 6000!) of my wavs to mp3 into that directory, then go back to using the external (main, 'wav')library for any new CD's I import. Can this be done without somehow screwing up the main library data file, and will I still be able to consider that my external drive has all the information which goes with the .wav files so that if I copy everything on it I've truly done a backup? (I don't care if I lose the mp3's, as they are only transient en route to the Ipod). I wish I could set Itunes to keep everything on my computer in .wav, and convert automatically to mp3 when loading my Ipod...!
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Wave burner mp3

    I am sending a mp3 track via email and I have bounced it down from logic pro as mp3
    I then import it into wave burner which automatically converts it into an audio file for mastering.
    How does one bounce this file back to an MP3 file in order to reduce the size from approx 37 m/bits to about 4.3 m/bits as an mp3 file.
    There does not seem to be an export window,or function to enable it to be converted back to an mp3 file.
    Any answers
    Thanks
    Trafford Reeder

    I realize that this is slightly off topic from your initial post, but you've said something that raises a concern: you mention that you bounce files into mp3 format from Logic, import them into Waveburner (which converts them to AIFF), and then intend to bounce them again into mp3 format. This process would be a bad idea, since you would be running the mp3 compression algorithm twice, reducing the quality of the audio considerably. When any program imports an mp3 file and rerenders it as AIFF or WAV, it is not a true lossless file, but rather a lossless representation of a lossy file. Or, in otherwords, it is just a high-fidelity copy of a lower-fidelity audio file. You really ought to bounce AIFF files from Logic, do whatever mastering you intend to do, and then convert the bounced file into mp3. I realize this seems to be several steps, but it is necessary to avoid losing quality.
    I would like it very much, however, if Waveburner could render mp3 albums (and especially simultaneously export CD images and mp3s, much as Logic can do AIFFs and mp3s at the same time). Hopefully the developers find a way to do this.

  • Wave to mp3 conversion losses

    When I adjust the amplitude of a song in Soundtrack Pro up or down by, say 6 dB, and then convert the sound file from wave to mp3, I notice that the volume increase or decrease is noticeable in the wave version but not in the mp3 version. Although the mp3 is a compressed version of the song, I didn't expect the volume changes to be completely bypassed or filtered out.
    Any tips on how to increase or decrease song volumes and to maintain these volume changes within the mp3 format?
    Thanks in advance.
