Convice me to buy the ipod touch

Question

i want to get one but wanted to know how people like them because all my friends have iphones and not touches i don't have any reference. One big thing is how strong the airport card in it is and does the browser work well

A few things to remember, when owning an iPod Touch, (iPT.)
1. Currently the iPT only charges when connected to a USB cable, (that is connected to a computer or charger.) Third party docks and charger will not work with iPT, due to changes in the charging circuit of the iPT. Be sure to only use Apple USB cables with the iPT, many third party USB cables will not work with the iPT, they were designed to work with older iPods.
2. If you plan on showing slide or movies on a TV set, then you will need to purchase A/V cables from Apple, (again only Apple A/V cables work.) There are two kinds of A/V cables, component, (like some DVD players use) and composite, which works with any TV set, (just not as clear a picture as the component cables, when showing movies or slides.) These cables come with a charger that plugs into the wall and will charge your iPT, while watching movies or slides.
3. The only docking station that works with the iPT currently, that allows video to leave the iPT's docking port, is the Apple Universal Dock, (not to be confused with the older iPod Universal Dock.)
All other docks have issues with allowing video to pass through to TV sets, or they will not charge the iPT when docked, (or both.) The Apple Universal Dock part number your looking for is: MB125G/A. It is the only dock that fully works with the iPT, (the dock doesn't come with a charger, but your iPT should have.)
4. There are currently issues with some iPT's working with WiFi. I myself am have no issues but depending on the wireless routers some users have, WiFi has been a big problem for some, (WiFi is for internet use, Safari, YouTube, email.)
5. As for the Safari browser, it's very good and you can view full, normal web pages and zoom in and out sections of web pages, by tapping and pinching commands on the screen. The Safari browser doesn't support flash or quicktime movies currently, so web sights that use these types of media will not be viewable on your iPT.
6. Music Album ART on the iPT for the most part has few issues, but there have been issues with Album art disappearing or going blurry, but this has affect just a few users and can be remedy by replacing album art or doing a restore to ones iPT.
7. Lossless music on the iPT is having issues, with momentary gaps in playback, when the iPTs screen goes dark to save battery life, this is only an issue with lossless music.
8. Applications, that can be added by purchasing them, (or free downloads) from Apple Application Store have been known to crash the iPT when there in there early stages of development and can cause your iPT to malfunction. When this happens, the removal of the offending application usually restores the iPT to normal operation.
