Cookie support planned in UIX?

Is it planned to support cookies in UIX?
e.g. read a cookie and in a null eventhandler and write it into page property or versa.
Would be nice e.g. for storing the username in a cookie for login handling ("remember me").
Thanks, Markus
Btw. I know that i can do that in a java eventhandler, but doing it declarative with UIX tags would be nice.

Great to hear :-). We have to use JDev 9.0.3.3 until a stable 9.0.5 production release is out.
So i have to wait for next year to come or some nice person at Oracle will provide a 9.0.3.x backport for UIX 2.2 ;-).
Thanks for reply, Markus

I have old MacBook running OS 10.6.8 I was told in Apple Genius Bar that I need a code from apple support to upgrade to 10.7.   Apple support will not help because I am have their support plan.  Can some one help?

    hi Samberl
thanks a lot for the fast reply.
I was dragging folders from main folders on the laptop-desktop  onto the external drive icon - to copy them across....
Your suggestion sounds very promising -  I didn't know about 'cloning'.
Yes the idea is to backup the laptop -    I thought I would just move it all now, new - and then keep saving/dragging physically   across to the new drive myself each day or two...
Would this be the sizeof the internal hard drive = c.500 gb  ?   =   under the HD icon on desktop is written  :
    " 499.76gb , 311.5 gb free  "
I can erase and start agin on the new external drive - so this plan is to make two partititions, rather than the one at present, and make one of them 500 gb ?
I have found CCC [carbon copy cloner] googling - looks good.
When CCC site says it backs up  the hard drive - would this  mean all my files  [over 100 gb] that are mostly  in folders on the desktop, plus the others in itunes, iphotos etc found in the HD icon,  would all copy across successfully [wherever they are in the computer ]  ?
thanks again, hope you can clarify these things and then I will go for it.
It would be great and amazing if this 'lack of permission' message doesn't show up in the process of doing this ccc transfer - hopeful!

  • LSO: Ensuring learner desktop is "LMS ready" & support plan for E-learning

We are entering a time period with a significant rollouts planned for WBT's and on-line tests. Despite the efforts of our IT organization, our end user environment isn't quite as standardized as we would like. This creates the potential that when learners go into the Learning Portal to take a WBT or on-line test, things might not work as planned, leading to learner frustration and an increased volume of support tickets.
Examples of things which could go wrong include: (1) user has a pop-up blocker turned on, (2) user might not have the Java plug-in installed for their browser (or a really old version).
    So.....
    1) What do you do to minimize the risk of learners running into problems?
I'm especially interested in any attempts you've made to give users information to help self-audit their own PC's in anticipation of taking E-learning.
    2) What does your technical support plan look like for E-learning tickets?
What I'm interested in is what directions do you give to your Help Desk so they know under what circumstances they should route a call to a particular resource.
I  would like to hear from other customers who are live with LSO (300 or above) as to how you address these items.

Variability in content and users desktops are two major issues from a support standpoint. Some of our content is internal IP and created by employees with no instructional design background. For this we provide standard templates, standard creation tools and job aids to assist in creating a WBT that allows the user to know what to expect from one to the next. For desktop issues, we often identify known issues (a WBT requires a new version of Flash plug-in for example) prior to deployment and have the specific technology pushed to all user's desktops.
For issues like pop-up blockers, we note the need to disable them completely from the users Learning Plan where they access the content since this is a common problem. As issues are identified and solutions determined, we make sure the helpdesk is notified. This is then added to their ticket management support checklist depending on the issue that was originally reported. If the helpdesk (Level 1) can't resolve the issue over the phone then they refer it to the developers (Level 2) who contact the employee directly. The developers close the loop by communicating the resolution to the helpdesk for future use.
    Hope this helps.

I wanted to let you know that while we typically don't handle Playbook issues on this forum (the RIM forum you linked to is the correct place for these discussions) I have forwarded this question along to the team to see if anyone has encountered this.  I'll post more info when I hear back.

  • Is 64bit support planned for all toolkits?

    Hello,
some years ago a programmed a large application in LabVIEW 2010 with the help of some toolkits.
Currently I am thinking about switch to LabVIEW 2013 but in the 64bit version and update some stuff.
To my surprise almost no toolkit included in the Developer Suite Core Edition has a 64 bit Version.
Is the support planned or should I avoid doing anything new in LabVIEW since I can never use the large amounts of memory any computer offers today.

    Sense wrote:
Actually the toolkits (VI Analyse, Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit, PID Toolkit) don't need that much memory and my program currently fits inside the limit of around 4 GB .
But still I want to switch to 64bit and I don't want lose the ablity to use the toolkits.
Of course I could find ways to reduce the memory requirements of a new program and always use the 32 bit version of LabVIEW.
But why shouldn't I use the 32 GB RAM I have if I want to.Actually that "32GB limit" is understated by vast orders of magnitude in theory...you'll run out of phyisical RAM far faster than Addresses in x64
    I guess my point is:
The first LabVIEW version which supported 64bit was 2009.
Now nearly 4 years later I can't see any progress in the transition from 32bit to 64bit at least regarding toolkits.
This is just a guess (Fairly well thought out but, just a guess)
There is no difference in licensing LabVIEW x32 and x64.  In fact, I believe you can have them installed side-by-side (Never tried this myself)
Not many applications actually REQUIRE x64 as of today and very few LabVIEW applications developed with the current toolkits would require x64 architecture since (Drumroll please....). The existing x32 Toolkits WORK in a 32 bit architecture.
So, there is no market need to provide the existing toolkits with features that they do not take advantage of.  Are you following so far?
Toolkits that CAN and MUST take advantage of a 64 bit OS cannot be deployed on 32 bit systems.  What advantages do you feel you can provide your user's by moving a 32 bit TK to 64 bit?

  • Average support response time with free support plan

Some time ago I noticed that I have 3 Adobe ID's.
    2 of them are correct
2 of them have products registered to them
1 that has a product registered to it is erroneous: has the wrong country in its registration details
I contacted support and was assisted promptly and accurately. I needed to provide a few more details that I had to take a moment to collect. The support agent opened up a support case where I could later place the missing information.
I informed the support agent that I would be away on holiday for a week. And immediately after I added the information that'd come in in the meantime.
This was 1st of may. All has been silent since then.
I tried to open up a chat to ask what the average response times are for free support plan subscribers, but I no longer get access to the chat... I guess I was probably just lucky the first time.
Anybody here know when (on average) I could expect an update to that support case?

Up to 2 weeks and given the current madness after the CS7/ CC announcment possibly longer.

  • Which support plan do I need? VS2013 web deploy troubleshooting

    Hi
I have an ongoing issue with completing a web deploy from VS 2013 to my Azure website. I have scoured the web and am not really any closer to finding out/nailing down what the problem is. The problem description can be seen here https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/64241ed0-5594-4f15-8bb9-83ea3994d524/web-deploy-failing-from-vs-2013-warning-retrying-the-sync-because-a-socket-error-10054?forum=windowsazuredevelopment
I need help troubleshooting the issue and so I'm now thinking I need to get some more official support as most of my forum posts are not receiving responses.
I have a Windows Azure MSDN - Visual Studio Ultimate subscription....I currently am not eligible for technical support. I have options to upgrade to a support plan of: DEVELOPER, STANDARD, PROFESSIONAL DIRECT or PREMIUM support plan. What is the minimum
support plan required to create a ticket for this technical issue and receive help troubleshooting the problem?
The Developer subscription has the Unlimited Break/Fix 24/7 service...what does that mean exactly?
If someone could advise I'd be greatful,
    JK

    Hi,
Unlimited Break/Fix 24/7 service means it is available during business hours for local languages; 24x7 for English for all severities; 24x7 for
    Japanese for severity A only."
And All these 4 plans(DEVELOPER, STANDARD, PROFESSIONAL DIRECT or PREMIUM ) includes technical support.
    Have a look:

    Hope this information helps.

  • Cookie support in a JSP provider

    Hello,
How can I set the cookie from a JSPProvider channel? The standard way (response.addCookie) does not seem to work. I'd say the response wrapper just ignores it.
    Regards,
    Valera

    Hi,
Please check the log files for any errors. Also, If the JSP is on a different webserver, his the domainname added in the (Gateway Management | Manage Gateway profile)"Forwardcookie URL list" and Server Management | Manager server profile |"Cookie domain list".

  • Cookie support in JWeb Toolkit

    Hi,
I have a big problem! I can't find any support for handling
cookies from the JWeb Toolkit for OAS 4.0. I need functionality
to SET and GET cookies in Java.
I have tried writing 'Set-cookie: xxx=yyy' in the HTTP header
with HtmlStream but the page never arrives to the browser, like
if the server halts the page.
One solution is to use the WRB Services but then you must invoke
the WRB services in C and it seems to be a lot of extra work.
    Thanks

Are you setting the values in your cookie when you access the page from the portal? I havent used them in a long time, but I'm pretty sure cookies are Domain specific. So if you set in while in one Domain, its not avilable via another. Maybe acessing the page thru the portal puts it in a different Domain?

  • Cookie support

Would anyone know if Weblogic has a class/method you can call to determine if the
    current client supports cookies?

    Rich,
There unfortunately isn't a 100% sure mechanism for this. You essentially
have to try to set a cookie and see if it comes back. If you are using
sessions you can try the method:
    HttpServletRequest.isRequestedSessionIdFromCookie()
this will tell you if the current session is being maintained using cookies.
This will always return false on the first request in a session (because
that request wouldn't have been accompanied by a session cookie), but should
return a useful value after that.
    Cheers!

  • WebElements: Support planned for Crystal Reports for Enterprise?

    Hi Jamie
Currently only Crystal Reports 2011 is supported with WebElements 2.47. Is there a plan to support Crystal Reports for Enterprise in the future? Or are there technical obstacles which prohibit this "by design"?
    Regards
    Raphael

    hi Raphael,
crystal reports for enterprise on bi 4.0 will not support webelements as it does not have support for custom functions. webelements is built with custom functions. there are most likely other limitations with crystal reports for enterprise that will disallow using webelements.
this should not really affect anyone that's using webelements unless they really want to use the new semantic layer / universe.
given that you could probably still build your reports that contain webelements with crystal reports 2011 and call anything built with cr for enterprise. the best practise for webelements is to create a container report with all of the webelements controls and then call the target in an iframe or in a new tab or window.

  • Database 9i Oracle support plan (ceased?)

    hi everybody,
do you know when Oracle cease the support for 9i version? (like with 8i years ago)
Or better can you point a website where it is written?
I think of moving to 11g, but I need some good reasons to convince customer ;-)

I guess this question is best suited for the OSS since only they would know that in general for all and for you as an individual customer, how long they have planned to support 9i in normal and in extended support. So best would be if you raise a ticket with OSS and check.

  • Would event in Template be supported  in future UIX Version?

My uix pages are totally based on a Template file which has a globalButton to change user's password. So of cause every page can call the changePassword.uix By clicking this button. Problem is after changing password the calling source page should be displayed again. I think the best way here is a event can be called on the template. Does anyone has some idea how I should do it elegantly?
    Thanks
    Yong

There's no brilliantly elegant way of supporting this today. Looking forward UIX will support the Java Server Faces standard, which means - among lots of other goodies - that there'll be support for component-level events and listeners, which is exactly what you need to solve this sort of a problem.
