You can purchase parts from http://partsurfer.hp.com or any online retailer if you can locate the HP part number.  Just type your model number (or Product Number) into the search field on Partsurfer.

this manual will show all the steps involved. The technicians at depot also follow this manual for most repair processes.
Fan replacement is fairly straight forward.

  • Compaq C700 cooling fan's part number?

    Hi
I wonder if the cooling fan 438528-001 can be used on Compaq C700?
It does not show Compaq C700 is compatible with it on hp.com
But when I searched on ebay, many compaq c7800 cooling fans for sale have part number 438528-001:
    http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=compaq+c700+fan&_sacat=See-All-Categor...
FYI on C700's service manual, the part number is 454944-001.
    Could anyone pls clarify?
    Thanks.

I had one of these units. It was a great machine but it was LOUD. The reason behind this was that the fans basically had one speed... FAST AND LOUD.
The latter units had variable speed fans and were a little more quieter.
It bothered me so much that I rigged the unit so the fans would only run at half the speed. It was useless though as the machine got pretty hot. Maybe if it was in an a/c data center it would be different.

  • PowerBook G4 DVI w/Dead Internal Primary Fan, Replacement Parts Questions

    Hey Everyone,
I'm preparing to replace the primary fan on a PowerBook G4 DVI. I have a spare, used primary fan, but lack the rubber pins.
Does anyone know where these little things can be purchased online separate from the fan kit itself? I did some searching on Google with no luck.
    Thanks for any leads/suggestions!

Rather doubt they are available separately, but you may want to try these places:

I have the same problem in a 2Gen MBP 17. Not sure about the part numbers you listed.
I found the parts here but I have not yet ordered but I did remove the offending fan from my Mac and took a can of compressed air to it and that part on power bookmedic.com look to be an exact match for my 17.
You will want to double check the model I picked 15 C2D MBP to link

  • Cooling fan is not working - How to disasemble Satellite L850

How do you strip a Satellite L850 so as to get to the cooling fan and replace it. The cooling fan became noisy then stopped working and now the laptop is shutting down as it gets too hot.
It is out of Warranty now as well.

    Hi
Cooling fan replacement is pretty complicated procedure. Whole notebook must be disassembled and, as you probably know, it should be done by authorized personal only.
Fact is that notebook disassembling procedure must be done by specific order to avoid some damage. Many plastic parts have small plastic holders and if you dont know how to remove certain part can be broken. The whole disassembling procedure is described in maintenance manuals but this document is not a public document and cannot be downloaded.
What to say at this point? You can try to disassemble your machine but you will do this on your own risk. If you dont have experience with this I think it is not so good idea.
Do you know someone who can help you with this?

  • Had fan replaced. Now no sound.

I recently had the cooling fan replaced. Now I have no sound. I have tested the hardware and it appears that each stereo channel responds during the test but no sound is heard. I am running Win 7 Pro (64 bit).

The built-in speaker cable is very easy to crimp or even forget about when putting the iBook back together. This is usually a multi-strand multi-colored cable snaking along the left side of the computer above the top shield, a portion of which can be seen when the keyboard is removed. Check to see that the cable is securely connected (and still in one piece) and you should be home free.

  • G6 1c58ca laptop want to replace cooling fan and copper part

i have probelm with cooling fan being really loud and making way too much vibration that actually numbs my hands while using wireless keyboard on same desk. so, i have taken apart the laptop to clean the cooling fan area with compressed air, and assembled it again, and ran the laptop.
a littble improvement but still same problem.
so i came to comclusion that the hardware part itself is the problem and i want to replace it.
so my question is where can i find or buy the cooling fan and copper colored line that is connected to cooling fan?

looked at amazon but they only had coolingfan part not the copper colored line.

  • What is the typical cost of replacing the cooling fan the laptop is HP Pavillion DV6 6165tx.

What is the typical cost of replacing the cooling fan in a
laptop computer ? (In India in Indian Rupees)?
The laptop is HP Pavillion DV6 6165tx. The cost means
    fan cost plus labour charges.

    Hi,
You should know this better than us. Normally part is around $40 (more or less) and labour can be $50 to $200. I would charge this for $400 (minimum) or free.

  • Qosmio X500-11Q - How to replace cooling fans?

    Hi,
I'd to know if i can replace processor fan. It makes a lot of noise, and overheating.
Any reference or tips please ?

    Hey buddy.
In order to get access to the cooling modules, the whole notebook needs to be disassembled. :(
This is very tricky procedure since there are too many screws and parts which need to be removed.
I didnt find any disassembling manuals for download on the Toshiba European driver page I assume such docs are accessible for technicians only so I would no recommend trying to disassemble the notebook without having such guides.
Are you sure that your cooling module is faulty? Maybe there is dust and debris which affects the cooling fan functionality use compressed air spray which would helps to remove the dust in my case it helped

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03015537.pdf
The available fan/heatsink combos with HP part numbers can be found in chapter 3, on page 27.
In order to get the right one you need to know what hardware is installed in your PC.
Since it is a CTO (configured to order), there are no product specs available.
So it is incumbent upon you to know for example if your notebook has an Intel processor and a graphics
    subsystem with 2048-MB discrete memory.
Once you determine the right part number you need, you can order it online at the link below.
    http://h20141.www2.hp.com/Hpparts/Default.aspx?mscssid=2DE434CEF5B743168A44405770DB2EA5
If you want a second opinion on if you are choosing the right part, I will be happy to help once you describe the specs for your PC.

  • How to Replace cooling fan HP Pavilion g7-1139

Need information on how to replace the cooling fan on my Pavilion g7-1139 series Laptop please .
    This question was solved.

    Hi, Rick:
It appears that the manual for the g7-1300 series would also pertain to yours...same hardware specs...
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5214430&
There is no manual linked to your notebook's support page, and the one for the g7-1139 is for older hardware (1st generation core processors).
