Hi,
I purchased a MSI GT70 Dominator. I also purchased a cooling pad as gaming tends to warm systems up and thus increase the likelihood of system problems.
I was excited as both arrived within a couple days of each other. I sat the notebook on the cooling pad and was saddened to see that it skated around on top if it, no grip at all.
On the underside of the Dominator there are additional support feet and ridges at the back of the system around the fan vent on the bottom. Those interfere with the four rubber feet's ability to grip the surface of the cooling pad.
My question is whether anyone has been successful in locating a compatible cooling pad for use with the GT70 Dominator, or any other similar MSI systems.

I hand built my own cooling pad/dock for my GT70. Works great, even in the most demanding games with everything turned up (and seriously overclocked) I barely ever get to 70C, and usually top out at 65C.

Is the Hiper Type- R 580 modular PSU compatible with MSI K8N SLI Platinum?

Hey guys, i just recently bought a Hiper Type R 580w PSU after my old PSU went bad.
I installed the new PSU a few hours ago and came across a problem, nothing shows up on screen.
When i turn on the computer, the green light is constantly on including my dvd/rw light.
I double checked everything were connected properly and everything seemed to be connected properly.
The cpu's fan are running properly including the graphics cards and the case's fan but i can't pinpoint whats causing the the green activity light to light constantly including the dvd/rw.
I also tried resetting CMOS but it didn't fix the problem.
So now i'm starting to wonder if it's to do with compatibility issues between the Hiper Type R PSU and my K8N SLI Platinum motherboard.
So i just wanted to know if the Hiper Type R 580 PSU is compatible with the K8N SLI platinum?
I would grately appreciate any assistance.

Can I use my old speaker system with MSI K8N SLI Diamond. My speaker system is Creative Inspire 5.1 5500D Digital with decoder. Now 5.1 sound doesn't work properly. When I try look movie with PowerDVD6, center speaker is dead and no speech on movie. On PowerDVD6, SPDIF output is selected and tried also 6.1 channel options but no, speech will not play at center speaker. Some games too 5.1 surround doesn't work. I have connected my speaker system on motherboard coaxial SPDIF to speaker systems Decoder coaxial SPDIF, and speakers on that decoder. Do I have to buy new analog speaker system to get 5.1 surround working? If I connect my speaker system directly on MB analog outputs, sound balance in very bad, rear and front speaker is good but center speaker crackling and speech at center speaker sound like volume level is much too high.

So i bought myself today this card GTX 970 GAMING 4G
When i went home to install it i found out that it does not work. the fans spool up, the msi logo lights up, but no picture on monitors, not even the bios screen. i managed to boot up with the ntegrated graphics, GTX does not show up in device manager. So ive been looking to buy a MSI laptop and i have been looking at the MSI GT70 Dominator with model number 9S7-1763A2-2294, i have seen others with the model# 9S7-1763A2-2295 are they different? or is it the same laptop ive seen the specs and they look the same to me "the none completely tech savy customer". i have also noticed that MSI has a lot of laptops in the same price range as the GT70 is there a better one in that price range that i should know about or is the GT 70 the best for the price. Im looking to use it for gaming and work "nothing heavy work wise just excel, word, email, etc...." any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks
