Coordinates move after saving

Hi
Need some assistance here I think.
Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it's a bug.
I'm creating a pixel-like drawing using 1mm squares, need to be very accurate.
Going through this process...
- I've got a .psd file as a background reference image (the black on the attachment).
- 0 / 0 the rulers
- have a 1mm grid in place
- placing my first pixel to a whole number x / y coordinate
- then Object>Transform>Move by whole number digits
- then start creating the illustration (the magenta squares)
- every now and then I'll check the coordinates of the individual squares and all looks fine
Save the document
Then go back to find that what was 25 on the x axis is now 25.002 and likewise for the y axis.
Have tried with and without the grid, with and without snap to grid... all with the same results.
Can anyone help?
Cheers
Mick

Mick,
I believe you are looking at the inherent inaccuracy; all measures and coordinates are fundametally based upon points, so small deviations in other units form are well known. You will not encounter the issue if you work in points/pixels as the unit.
Apart from that, you may consider Effect>Distort&Transform>Transform, then set the Move and the number of Copies.
You may Object>Expand Appeanance afterwards if you wish to have individual squares.

  • Signature Scribble field not retaining image file after saving

I have 2 issues with my PDF dynamic file I sent out
         1) The add/remove controls is adding a random amount of extra blank rows upon saving the PDF
         2) The image files selected for the Signature Scribble field is not retaining the image file after saving. It also doesn't give an opportunity to actually draw in a signature.
I even tried to use the Subform Instance Controls Insert/Remove/Move in my table, but I keep receiving the error "You have reached the maximum number of items allowed"
I would appreciate any help you can give me! I have been farting around with this for too long.
    Thanks!

Thanks Pat.  Tried each, restarted computer each time; tried the "Accept" routine several days ago - it worked briefly and then stopped.  Uninstalled Reader and Flash as well.  Strange thing with Flash, one of my online broker programs provides streaming of CNBC.  When I clicked on the CNBC option to initiate CNBC, I got a message saying that I needed to load Flash.  I did, and it loaded again with no mention of Flash having already been installed.
Using Internet Explorer works, as well as, clicking on the .pdf file within Windows Explorer (WE).  Expanding the window in WE makes it large enough to read.  I would still like to find a way to open the files as they are designed to open.
I have done all of the Adobe updates as they have been presented.  Microsoft updates load automatically, and restart my computer in the process.  I do not look to see what the updates have been.  I figure if there was not a need, Microsoft would not make the updates.

  • Problem: after saving endtitle gets unreadable

    Hey there,
I have a problem with the endtitle.
It rolls from the right side to the left side. If I watch it in Premiere it looks very well,
but after saving the movie as an mpeg-file the quality of the movie is great but the endtitle
looks terrible...what could be a reason and how can I make it look better?
    Thank you!

Yes, if one uses the Title Animation Presets, the Duration of the Title affects the speed of the Animation.
As the Title Animation Presets do not offer much control, other than that speed/Duration, mentioned above, I normally use the Fixed Effect>Motion>Position, to "animate" my Titles. This gives me ultimate control, and will even allow me to do things like "pause" a Title, within the animation.
I also normally use an old "rule of thumb" by keeping the Title on-screen to give the viewer time to read it 1.5 times, and also use large, bold san-serif fonts, with good contrast in both density and color, for ultimate readability.
Most of my Projects are SD to start, with DVD-Video being the ultimate output, and my Titles look great on an SD CRT TV, and with a good, up-rezzing DVD, or BD player, quite good on an HD TV.
Now, with an MPEG output, quality, and especially regarding motion (what you have with an animated Title), much will depend on the Bit-Rate of the output file.
For playback on PC's, it sounds like you are creating a DVD-Data disc (not a DVD-Video), with just the MPEG file. Is that correct?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

Having problems with Bridge shutting down after saving photo in PS Cs5,,,,,,,,,  Also when i attempt to update either PS or bridge get an error message in Adobe application manger "Error loading updater workflow"

Sorry for the late reply. My email firewall has become a little over zealous & sent a lot of my emails straight to my junk email folder, so I have only just now discovered your reply in my junk mail folder.
The only "don't open files exceeding xxx megabytes" instruction I can find in my Prefs, is in the Bridge Prefs for Thumbnails, & mine is set at 1000mb. The biggest files I handle are bigger than 200mb so I should be able to open a few, not just one.
However, this doesn't explain why I can open a psd format file of 180mb, close it, but then can't open a RAW format file of only 26mb immediately after.
I can open the RAW file only if I restart my computer - very annoying!
However, thanks for the advice about the video card & memory.
So, I'm still stuck as to what the issue is.

  • Could someone help me figure out why after saving a form some subforms are hidden again

I am asking this on behalf of a coworker.  We have a form she is working on with a drop down (ddlDropDown) with 1, 2, and 3 listed (same values,,1,2,3)  That trigger hidden subforms to appear (Employee1, Employee2, Employee3).  Initially, Employee1 is visible.  If form user selects 2 or 3 in the dropdown then Employee2 and Employee3 become Visible.  Once the form is filled in, saved, closed and reopened Employee2 and Employee3 are hidden again even though the dropdown says 2 or 3.  The script behind the dropdown's change event is:
    subSELECT.Employee1.presence=this.rawValue==1?"visible":"hidden";
    subSELECT.Employee2.presence=this.rawValue==2?"visible":"hidden";
    subSELECT.Employee3.presence=this.rawValue==3?"visible":"hidden";
I have tried adding this code to the form's initialize, docReady, preOpen, postOpen, layout:ready events but it still doesn't work.
    Any ideas?

Here is a sample I created based on your comments and it works just fine for me after saving the form.
Employee2 and Employee3 subforms have their presence property set to hidden.  I have the script in the exit event of the dropdownlist.

  • Bug Report:  "View PDF After Saving" Does Not Work When Saving as Photoshop PDF

The saved PDF file is not opening in Acrobat after saving a file as a Photoshop PDF. I noticed it happening a few times in earlier beta testing, but today it happened again.
I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.2 installed on MacPro with Lion OS 10.7.3. Photoshop public beta m415.  System info can be provided if needed.
The file I was trying to save was about 8 MB. Once it failed to open after save, I tried varied PDF settings and save locations. Also tried several different files. All were saved properly as PDF files, but would not continue to open in Acrobat as previous versions have done. The files open properly when you click on the file names in saved location.

I'm happy I could help and feel a bit proud to have found a real bug. The simplest work around is just clicking on the file list once it's done...that's certainly not a problem.

  • Front Panel objects do not stay in place after saving, closing, and reopening the VI.

I have been working with a couple of versions of a main VI. The original VI was given to me so that I could add additional functionalities to it. I had been designing the front panel of the latest version of the VI on a Dell laptop running Windows 7 and LabView 2011 SP1 using a monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080. My booleans, numerics, and plots on the front panel had always stayed in place after saving, closing, and reopening the VI. Once in the field, I connected my laptop to a cRIO9073 and used my laptop screen with a resolution of 1366x768 to operate the VI. I made some changes to the VI, saved it, and reopened it. This time I noticed that the front panel objects had become overlapped, resized, and generally rearranged. I tried fixing the objects but I noticed that they reverted back to the incorrect positions after saving and reopening the VI. I was successful in keeping the objects in position a couple of times, but when I would open the VI at a later time, the objects were again rearranged. This is happening on both my monitor and laptop screen. The original version of the VI, however, does not behave this way and I have opened it on both my monitor and laptop screen. In this version, the front panel objects always stay in place. Both VI's have the same window size properties. Could I have corrupted the latest version of my VI somehow? Below are screenshots of the front panels of both VI's.

    Hi Miguel,
It is possible to programmatically set or change the position of front panel objects. (for example: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4D0DA06B43195B3F862572F3000AF2D3?OpenDocument) However, if you haven’t intentionally done that, it seems unlikely that it is the problem.
Have you tried copying the entire block diagram in to a new VI to see if the problem persists? While it is unlikely, you are right that it is possible for VIs to become corrupted. I’ve never heard of a situation like this except in the situation where the settings Tom had you check have been changed. Here is some information about those settings:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/7567EF257B9CFDF986256F630073228F?OpenDocument
Since there was no rearrangement when you copied the front panel to a new VI, you might try copying the block diagram a little bit at a time to see if there is some particular part of it that creates the problem somehow.
