COPA Datasource Configuration

Hi Experts ,
While configuring COPA Datasource for Transaction Data ,I am getting an error message stating "0ADMNSTRTN assigned to several fields of the Datasource * " So its not allowing me to proceed .How do I fix it ? Any help !

Enhance COPA datasource

I need to enhance a COPA datasource but I cannot add fields in COPA structure as it is already full. So Need to write a code to populate the fields. We require partner function fields from VBPA table and populate the data.
I cannot create generic delta based on VBPA as this does not contain timestamp field.
When writing the code and populate the data, Will this fetch Delta data for COPA datasource? for ex. if someone changes the partner function for sales order will that be captured as a delta? If not then please suggest what should be the approach for above.

Look up will work. it will be another way for you.
but delta on partner function will won't work thru LO data sources.
LO data sources are standard one and will work on their own delta function.
You need to understand more functionally about partner function.
this won't be the unique for one record. same function will may have multiple records.
in such cases we don't have any option to make partner function as delta relevant field thru custom data source.
Another work around:
Create one custom data source on table VBPA with less fields along with partner function.
load custom data source data to bw DSO(xyz).
create multiprovider on custom DSO(xyz) and copa cube.
At data source - you need to run daily full load only(info pack and dtp)

After Successful configuration of
1) Foundation Services (Hyperion Shared Services)
2) Essbase administration services
3) Essbase Server
4) Hyperion reporting and analysis
5) Planning -----> Product options, Register with shared services, configure database, deploy to application server (Appache), Product Instance registration.
I stuck with Datasource Configuration under planning-
Steps in details---
cheked on data source configuration and click next
check create datasource and click next
datasource name : essdb (my choice)
datasource Discription : essbase DB (my choice) click next
select my instance name : plan (from drop down menu) click next

COPA datasource error - Errors occurred during the extraction

Hi,
I have an issue with the COPA datasource,
1. I have created a COPA datasource in DEV and its working fine in DEV. the entire extraction is working fine.
2. Then I transported this copa datasource to QA where I am getting belor error.
In Extract checker, when checking for the data, i am getting the error
"Errors occurred during the extraction"
Application Log:

Syntax error in generated program
Message no. RD117
Diagnosis
A syntax error has occurred in the generated program for the CO-PA extractor:
MSGV1: "RSFHGEN2"
MSGV2: "No component exists with the name "HILFS". ."

But I would like to know is,
1. why its working in DEV?
2. How to fix this error in QA?
3. Do I need to recreate the datasource and Operating concern with/without the fields which are giving the problem.

How to add new column to COPA datasource?

Dear all,
It seems we have to delete the COPA datasource and regenerate it when we need add new column, if so,we should regenerate the initialIzation for the delta.
Beacause only the new delta data need have value for new column,so I do not want to reextract the historical data,do you have any solution?

You are correct, COPA DS need to be regenerated.
Initialize without Data Transfer might help you. But was thinking how do you manage the 'lost' delta in between the processes?
I m not sure about your flows i.e how data moves from PSA to cube but I think at least you should
Initialize the delta for the current fiscal year ( with Data Transfer) and then continue with delta.
Which type of COPA you are using? Account based or Cost Based? For Acc Based delta initialization starts from summarization level , so you also need to fill up summarization level at least for the current year.

Selection of 0CURTYPE in a copa datasource

I'm being asked to give a hand to a colleague of mine....
he has a problem with the copa datasource...Unfortunately
i've always worked on extraction from modules sd and mm...
and I don't know how copa exctraction works... I've found
a lot of documents... read some of them... but now I need
your help...
his problem is related to 0CURTYPE...the requirement is
to exctract only the company code values..I thought then that
if the 0CURTYPE was available as selection field in the
infopackage... the problem would be easily solved.... but
at the moment it is not a selection field and
moreover to make it a selection field it would mean recreate
the datasource and apply the oss note 390146. I'm told that
we're not allowed to recreate the datasource... so I was wondering
now if I could make this selection in R3..adding some code in the
CMOD...something like...
case...
when 'COPA'
delete data_package where CURTYPE NE '10'....
or something like that....
will the "delete data_package" work here?...have you got
any other idea?
they would filter the data directly in the R3 environment...

CR for Enterprise 4.0: Unable to retrieve the datasource configuration

Hello Experts, I have the following issue with CR for Enterprise: I can successfully connect to our BI server, but when I select a universe I would like to build a report on, I receive the following error message about the validity of my data source: "Unable to retrieve the datasource configuration: com.crystaldecisions.thirdparty.org.omg.CORBA.UNKNOWN minor code: 0x0 completed: No". The universe I am trying to connect to is based on a relational connection and was built using the IDT 4.0 SP 1.

Well that is very strange! Is Crystal Reports for Enterprise installed on the server machine or on the local workstation?
If we are using Crystal Reports for Enterprise which is installed on a sperate workstation, try installing it on the server machine and then try to connect to universe.

BC4J and JNDI DataSource Configuration

I need help in making the BC4J use a DataSource for creating connections. Could you anyone tell me step by step instructions to do it?
I have created a Database Connection using JDBC for creating a BC4J App Module, View Objects etc.
Then I created a Business Component Package by using the wizard. Everything worked fine till now. But I was to use a connection pool that is created in my App Server which happens to be a WebLogic 7.0 App Server. I have created a JDBCConnection pool and a JDBCDataSource in the App Server. The configuration for it is as follows in the weblogic configuration file.

When I tried to run a testClient which uses the App Module it is failing giving me an exception saying could not lookup for the DataSource. In one of the detailed error messages, I got this error.
javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Need to specify class name in environment or system property, or as an applet parameter, or in an application resource file: java.naming.factory.initial
I checked the "Configurations" window and it was having
"oracle.jbo.common.JboInitialContextFactory" for the property "java.naming.factory.initial".
Could anyone tell me how to solve this issue. I did read the BC4J & JNDI Datasource configuration thread in the same forum and unfortunately that did not help.

Datasource configuration error

Hi,
I unable to configure the planning datasource. Let me explain the complete scenario.
Already I have created a datasource (SID:TEST, Port:1571) and created an aplication and everything is working fine. Now client changed the SID(Test1) and Port No(1551) for the schema. I have exported the schema and imported to new SID. When I am trying to change the connection for existing datasource by editing to new SID and port no, it is giving an error "Data Source configuration failed". Below are the configtool log entries.

During the configuration, I have selected the option "Reuse the existing database" instead of "Drop and Create new database" as I already imported the tables to new schema.

I am trying to reconfigure Planning and Data Source Configuration. Here it is giving "Database Configuration Failed" for Planning database configuration and "Datasource Configuration Failed" for datasource configuration.
But i checked all .properties files and DB tables....all are pointing to new database only.
It is necessary to go reconfiguration or without that one will it work fine?

Can't display COPA datasource...message table entry doesn't exist

Hi,
I am trying to display my COPA datasource and it's giving me a message stating it can't because a table entry is missing. In debugging I can see the table entry it's reading is tkebwlgn.
I've tried everything, but cannot display/delete this.
Any suggestions?

I resolved this by executing RSA6 and making a "change" by selecting a field as selectible and saving. Then went back in and unchecked it and saved it.
The table entry then appeared and the datasource could be viewed.
Just in case someone else comes across this problem.

COPA Datasource Migration from 3.x to BI 7.0

Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue to restore the migrated COPA datasource from 3.5 to BI 7.0.
I am doing this migration as mentioned below
1.selected the 3.x datasource and in context menu used migrate
2.used option "with export"
3_.No transport request was requested_
4.successfully migrated.
I am not getting the option "restore datasource" in the context menu of the migrated datasource.
I want to use this option if the solution is not working in the new BI 7.0 flow.

My issue Is I am not getting the option "restore datasource" after the migration & transport request is not requested while migration and hence the migrated datasource is locked as local object.

I'm very new to COPA extraction. I tried to extract data from COPA. So I created Costing based COPA datasource. Do we need to do anything to fill the data? Or Is there any initialization step as in LO? How the COPA tables are filled with data? From where these tables will get data? Please help me to understand the concept.

Hi,
I don't think you can change this description by standard means... The COPA Datasource would have to be deleted and then recreated with your correct description.
I would personally go to the tables TKEBWLT and ROOSOURCET and change the description there...
