Hi,
I created characteristics and value field and activated. i got message saying that CE1 is activated.
Again i went to environment and clicked on " activate" i got same error saying that "the function is not possible becasue of data structure are not active"
Please need help.

You also need to activate the data structures (data structures form your char and value fields) in the same screen of Maintain operating concern - data structure tab.

There may be a bug in the imsbackup command. If you try to send the output to a file and it is over 2GB, you will get the same error

Yep, i just did it again. The entire scroll-bar widget, complete with formatted text, graphics, etc., pasted itself nicely in another book. Two different files, the same widget.
I use the scroll-bar widgets for most of my texts. (I have audio buttons on the side, and the scripts are within the widget, to the side). My only text is within widgets, and text boxes, naturally.
I am following your recommendation: cleaning files, etc. I am remaking the book anew. I need to convince the EPUB bot or whatever that my file looks and works nicely on all my devices. You would expect an error message when previewing the book: 'Hey Amigo, your file is flawed, stop working on it, and get back to the drawing board." Should be able to try again next Monday.

By way of experiment, let's first try specifically choosing a library for iTunes to open.
Quit iTunes if that error message is showing. Now hold down your Shift key, and then open iTunes. (Keep holding down the shift key while iTunes is opening.)
You should see a dialog asking you if you want to choose or create a library, as per the following screenshot:
Click "Choose Library ..."
You should now see a screen like the following screenshot:
Select the "iTunes Library.itl" file (shown circled in the screenshot) and click "Open".

That's a bug in whatever Java program you're running.
That's not an error specific to OS X.
(There's usually a whole lot more text dumped by Java, too.)
Check with whoever wrote or is supporting the package you're working with.

Tools - Content Editing - select the tool "Edit Text and Images".
Keep in mind that PDF is not a word processor file format; consequently PDF does not tolerate word processor like "editing".
However touchups of characters and character strings is possible (when done judaciously).
Acrobat (in particular the Pro release) provides robust tools for touchup.

We are trying to create Sales order and getting error as below;
Inconsistency between a document field and the prof. segment number
Message no. KE396
Diagnosis
A line item was assigned to a profitability segment (number 046xxxxxx) which has the value 0000005xxx for characteristic Customer. The original document (FI document, sales order, internal order, etc.), however, contains Txxxx in this field. It is therefore inconsistent with the profitability segment found.
Can anybody please help me to resolve this?

What is the release you are working on? If it were < 4.6A, and you are trying to create an order with refenrence, thenit could be a program error as fixed by note 171064.

sorry, an error has occured.
The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.

Since I upgraded my Macbook 13' 2.16 GHZ intel Core 2 duo, I had a lot of problems that I don"t know how to fix :
1 ) I'm able to empty my trash but not see what's in it. Try tons of time to open it, but i doesnt respond.
2) If I try to search in the Finder window , the finder will quit unexpectedly. Also it quits a lot of times during the day even if I'm not using anything
3) I have two Finder icons on my dock, I cant remove them. Its seems that there're kind of duplicated and only on of them is operating. If I clic in the new one the finder window will appear, but If I Clic on the old one anything comes up.
So... Can someone help me =(

First try this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
If this doesn't solve the problems then reinstall OS X as follows:

The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

No SIM card error - How to fix?

I have started receiving No SIM card error messages and they are increasing with regularity.
Suggested solutions that I have tried but still get the message.
I had AT&T replace the SIM card. Results: Worked for 2 days.
Revisited AT&T and they told me it was a bad port & needed to go to the Apple store.
Researched Apple support and found quite a few people are getting this error message and Apple doesn't know why either.
I am currently making an appointment but thought I'd see if anyone out there has had succes fixing this error.
Read on a non-Apple support site that it could be a "new case" that is causing the problem and since I did get a new case, I removed it and still get the error. Since it was only intermittent, I could restore the service by turning the Airplane mode "on & off". This is working less & less.
Has anyone had this error and successfully fixed it?

There is a problem that Apple needs to fix (ha ha.. there are many but I digress) with ATH hanging after an ios device has been removed from the USB slot.
Re-inserting the device creates a new ATH instance which has some kind of conflict with the existing (hung) instance.
The solution is to end the process using CTRL-Alt-DEL and under processes there will mostlikely be two (or more). Kill them both, re-insert your device and it should sync OK.
Apple - please fix this (and the firewall problem) immediately.
