COPA reports KE30 - restricting the ability to Save definitions

Hi All,
Has anyone been able to restrict the ability to Save definition (Report-> Save Definition) but allowing a user to save data.
I have been playing around with auth object K_KEB_REP and Activity L0.
If I remove this activity - yes the user cannot save definition but they loose alot of other functionality from the "Report" menu like Saving data, exporting and so fourth.
I only want to restrict the Save Definition option
Is there a way to do this??

I would suggest on restricting both the below objects
K_CCA
K_REPO_CCA
Maintain the related cost center in both the above objects. Then in COPA report user will be able to see that particular report only where he/she is authorized to...

How to restrict the ability to save a PDF file in Acrobat.

Hello ! This is my first topic, evaluating to acquire Acrobat Professional 8, and I am asked if possible to restrict the ability to save a pdf file, when users are reading the file with Acrobat Reader. We are into creating a in-house document accessible to all users internally, using Acrobat Reader. I was able to restrict the printing, but I am unable to restict the saving of the file.
Any one knows if this possible ? or not?

Once they open it on their machine, they have a copy on that machine. They can simply move that copy to where ever they desire, making copies as they go. You can restrict copying content (though not full proof), printing, and changing the document, but not the physical file itself. Be careful with security and the assumption it fixes all your issues. PDF security is not all that secure. If you need higher levels of security, they you have to use the DRM (I think that is it) at a pretty cost.

Restricting the ability to amend the password

we offer iPads on short term loan to our employees but have a problem with them changing the password meaning we have to reimage it before we can reissue it. This is extremely annoying and wastes a lot of our time. Is there a way we can restrict the ability to do this?

thank you I'll feed that back to Apple but I doubt if they'll care. Our company policy is that they don't do it but unfortunately they ignore it. We are looking into the alternative of renting iPads when we need them instead of buying them - looks like that would be a better idea.

When will the ability to save progress be available?

I have a form that I want to use in Forms Central but it is rather long so I need the ability to save option. Any ideas on the timeline?

This completely broke the ability to save text and pixelmator documents. So I reverted the change back to normal, but ever since then it has been broken...
This needs to be fixed ASAP, as I can't save text and pixelmator documents! Can anyone help me with this?
I'm having other problems I can't seem to get solved as well, so I might be considering reinstalling OSX Mavericks. HOWEVER, I have so much settings, keyboard shortcuts, programs with settings, bettertouchtool settings, keyboard layout hacks and other things I don't want to loose or have to reinstall, since it'll cost me at least a week...
Can I reinstall all the basic files from OSX Mavericks without losing all my programs and other settings inside mavericks?
Or can someone help me solve both my problems instead?

The problem appeared to have erupted from a finder theme alteration I made following this post. So I reverted the change and it works again.

I would like the ability to save a thumbnail preview for use by the OS on image export.

I have been using Lightroom for about three years and one of the many features I would like to see is the ability to save a thumbnail for the image while exporting an image. This is an option available in other leading software, and also happens when you save an image in Photoshop. It isn't a huge issue when using a Mac because you have the option for the finder to force an image preview. It is however an issue when your client uses Windows since the OS doesn't allow the user to force a thumbnail preview.
The client is king, especially with the economy and market the way that it is. If the client wants thumbnails on their images in their OS, the photographer needs to be able to deliver. I don't expect myself or any other photographer to have to open files in Photoshop and save them to force a thumbnail for the image.
This software is in no way as expensive as Photoshop and it does have amazing features, but it is also not cheap and is intended for working professionals.

Your original links were ok, two JPGs and one PNG. BTW,the resizing wasn't necessary because the warning about it is only for viewing the photo in the message. You can always click on the photo and see the full-sized version, as long as it doesn't exceed the filesize limit, of course.
On my Windows 7, both JPGs show a Windows Picture Viewer program icon when set to the default settings, and both JPGs show a thumbnail icon when the icon-size is increased. This is a function of Windows, not the contents of the files, as far as I can tell.

On the Mac the two images act differently, but you're asking for Mac-specific things to occur, and Adobe may choose to not do it based on it not being different on Windows.
For what Windows scenario does the PS-saved JPG show a thumbnail-icon instead of a program-icon when the LR-saved one shows only the program icon. I'm not asking about the Mac where your screenshot shows the difference, I'm asking about Windows. Is it only when you e-mail pictures or is it on the customer's hard-drive, somehow, and what is the customer using the view the images?

First of all, are you using the OS native screen capture?
If not, make sure the application you're using has been update for Lion. I was using Snapz Pro for years, but I need to update it for use with Lion. Meanwhile Grab and the keyboard shortcuts are working on my Lion load.
If you are using the native capture mode unsuccessfully, I would run the Disk Utility and repair permissions on the drive. For some reason, even in past OS Versions, routine maintenance of permissions makes life a lot easier.

How to exclude the debit memo & credit memo out of COPA report (KE30)?

As captioned, now the current KE30 default transfers all the data from sales orders interfaces (via VA01), such as common sales order, 3rd party drop shipment, credit memo and debit memo etc.
Is there any idea to exclude the quantities display in KE30 towards Credit memo and debit memo? An user exit?

You need to clear some concepts in COPA.
A similar example for you, COPA likes a supermarket, vendors supply stuff (data of billings etc) into the supermarket, then you select the stuff you want (Report result) by putting them into the shopping trolley. And KE30 likes the shopping trolley.
Now the question, do you wish the vendors do not supply certain stuff (credit meno etc) into the market or you just do not put the stuff into your shopping trolley only? Configure by Tcode KE4W for the former case or create the report in Tcode KE30 with certain selection rule for the later case.

I am trying to execute a Profitability Report using Tcode KE30. After giving the input details, one pop-up appears "Save XXL Object in SAP Office"
Two input fields : "Name for list object" & "Title for SAP Office"
If I give name & title in these fields, where can I go and view the report ?

Check what option u have chose in output type tab in KE30.. Generally it is Graphiclal report-output...then report is going to display in normal report view...
In your case I think u selected XXL radio button and available on selection screen...

COPA - report - caracteristic restriction

Hi.
When COPA report is executed (transaction KE30) there is no function for selecting from_to for displayed caracteristic.
Can anyone help me, if there is the solution how to restrict caracteristic in report KE30 (for example: i need to show only articles from number 100 to number 300).
With the hierarchy caracteristisc I can do this, but the customer needs dinamicaly select the range from_to.

HI,
As per the standard,we can't restrict the characteristics from and to range in the report (KE30). Wherein, the form attached to the report can be given the range. In the element definition you can restrict to the characteristics. For Example the row identified (ie : Sales) can be resticted to the customer say from 100 to 500.

Hi rajibimran
There is a transaction (KE27) that reavaluates standard price for actual price.
I dont know how your system is set, but during months all cost elements are set using standard price.
During period end closing, after you run actual costs (CKMLCP) you have to revaluate CO-PA with actual price.

QuickTime Player 10.1 no more includes the ability to save a movie file in the same format as the original movie after editing it? No, it doesn't!

Since upgraded to Lion, I have to wait for QuickTime Player 10.1 to "CONVERT" every file that I edited in it.
Yes, it might save some disk space for me.(Which is not always the case though.) But it also takes almost 10 times or more as it did when back on Snow Leopard with QuickTime Player 10.0 there I could save any file in the same format as the original movie WITH NO NEED TO CONVERT IT.
Now I have to wait like 10 minutes to delete just a few frames.(The time it takes depends upon the original size of that movie. The larger the longer.) And guess what? If you have two clips originally split up from a movie and sperately getting saved(converted actually) with a loooooooot of time, and you naively added one of them to the other's end and then saved the finished one. It converts AGAIN! Doing so back on Snow Leopard with QuickTime Player 10.0 only takes you even a few seconds only!
Seriously, are we eating Apple or dirt this time?

My existing movies are all the following types straight from FinalCut
Apple Intermediate Codec, 1920 × 1080, Millions
16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo, 48.000 kHz
This particular movie is 6.66 Gb
The new Quicktime player in OS Mavericks converts these to the following format:
Apple ProRes 422, 1920 x 1080
Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 2 channels, 48000 Hz
And a movie size of 6.48 Gb
It seems obvious from other forum posts this is a planned move so that everything is the "new mobile device" ready state/format. To use Marc Speth's post as material....

Today I rolled all the back to Snow Leopard. Really good move...... All those new features hey? I lost the ability to work in spaces and of course the whole Quicktime debacle.
The rolling back process was easy, restored from a point prior to installing Lion and Mavericks and the only issue was my iPhoto libraries. Thank my stars that I still had back ups that I had not converted yet.... viva la Mavericks...NOT. Apple can keep it.
Unsure if you are just venting or if there is supposed to be a question here. Basically, I assumed this to be Apple's idea of an improvement. That is, I really believe the ProRes 422 codec is a better intermediate codec than the AIC codec but most of my old HDV camcorder family tapes were imported by iMovie (for compatibility with my wife's non-FCP computer configuration) and, like your content, is/remains stored as AIC/PCM MOV files. At first I thought this might be a generalized change affecting all QT X based apps but when I went to check the latest iMovie v10.0 update, became confused when I noted that AIC source files were not automatically updated to ProRes 422 and continue to play natively in the iMovie source media viewer.
I guess this is supposed to be a logical evoluption and we were supposed to have seen the "handwriting on the wall" dating back to when Apple's first released the free ProRess "player" ProRes 422 codec. Still, it would have been nice if Apple had given some warning during the last few years so users could plan and prepare for such a drastic change. For the moment, I am just thankful that AIC remains, at least temporarily, supported nativelyby the iMovie video editor under Mavericks. Thank goodness for small favors.

Runtime Error COPA Report KE30 - Assign_Length_0

As ABAP is unknown terrain for me, I stumbled upon an error which I can't seem to bypass. I do not know wheter this is the right forum to ask the question, so if I'm wrong, please do correct me.
Current situation
1. I've added a user def COPA Characteristic to the operating concern X.
2. I've made a realignment run to fill table CE40001 (prof segments)
3. Ive created a report (with form) where the report uses the field (point 1) as a drill down object.
When running this report, I immediatly get the error 'Assign length 0' - in program "SAPMKCBE", module "SEIG_POSITIONIEREN"
When looking at the error it stumbles at understanding code. It seems that
1. looking for value in table 'field_tab', which is CE10001
2. field "Reffl"
But as I've checked the table, this field does not exist. So this is where I'm stuck;

I found the issue regarding this problem. In customizing for the COPA characteristics, you have to define the default display for this characteristic in the COPA Report. This option can be set to "Long Text".
As it seems, this field is (in my case) not activated, and it can't be activated. Nor can it be maintained.
As a result the report searches for 'long text - REFLL' which doesn't exist.
solution:
Change default view for the characteristic AND completly rebuild your report. Since SAP doesn't read this value (default dispay) dinamicly, but only once while creating the report.

Crystal Reports - Charts - Restricting the data points on the X-axis

Hi,
Is there a way to restrict the number of points to display on the x-axis of a crystal chart keeping the number of data points the same.
For example, if the chart plots date vs value points and the data for the chart is from 1980 to 2009. This means the data points on the x-axis appear very close to each other.
I need a way to show the chart with all data from 1980 to 2009 but limited x-axis labels. Is there a way to configure the number of labels to show on the x-axis.

"Right click on one of the x axis labels and select Group (X) Axis Options...
On the Layout tab there is an option to Skip Group Labels, check this and enter in the number of labels you want to skip". Is there a way to do this from a .NET client or via a formula field in Crystal itself. The data points is going to be dynamic, hence the requirement is to dynamically configure the "number of labels" to be skipped.
