COPA User defined Characteristic - Region

Hello - I have a requirement to capture Region from Ship to party, so I am trying to create a 'user defined' characteristic . The underlying reason to have chek table is I want to be able to put some values for this characteristic in a cycle to do cost assessment based on certain values.
I have selected ' with reference to existing values' because I want system to generate check table etc. So I am referencing to 'RIGIO' data element. I am getting following message ' Data element REGIO is already used for REGIO' even if I create characteristic with warnings, I am not able add to operating concern.

Hi
After you create and Activate the Char in KEA5,
1. Go to KEA0
2. Click on Display / Change data structure
3. Click on Change view... It will show list of chars on the right hand side...
4. Push the user defined char from Right to Left side..
5. Save And Activae (Click on the Candle icon)
6. Press back button and Confirm the pop up to regenerate op concern
7. Include it in transport request from KE3I...

Hi Friends,
I need to add a user defined characteristic in COPA for Internal Order Types
Can any body guide me please if you have any guide with screen shots, I think i need to add characteristics with user defined WW>then add in Operating Concern>add condition types and then in KEDR table look up AUFK and selection to VIAUFKST.
Can any confirm the above or guide it in the right manner if any config book is available also that would be great.

a .user defined characteristic for Order Type
b. Added in the Operating Concern and Regenerated it
c. Added Derivation rule thru table look up for Order Type
Should i do any further steps (In CO-PA) for a CO-PA document related to Internal Orders to be generated thru billing cycle or i m fine with the steps i have done.

COPA user-defined charact. w. own value maint. with existing check-table

Dear Experts,
I need to create a user-defined characteristic with own value maintenance with the pecularity that it needs to refer to the same check table as another user-defined characteristic with own value maintenance.
Could anybody explain me how I can do that?

Hi Eric,
Generally when you are creating user defined charachteristic with own value maintainance check table is created by the system. So you requirement is not possible to achieve. As a workaounr you can create two char as you want and then copy the content of the first check table to the second one. This will have the same impact as what you have described.

Missing User Defined Characteristic in KE4A

While creating condition table in CO-PA the user defined characteristic are missing in the field catalog. How can these user defined fields be displayed.

Hi,
Goto Tcode KEA0
Click on 'Data Structure' tab and click 'Display'. Check whether ur Char is available. Else recreate it
Go to Environment tab and activate the Cross client and Client specific part by clicking the 'Activate' icon

Problem after uploading user defined characterstic schema in product catalo

Hi friends,
We were using SRM 5.0 and CCM 2.0, we were uploaded Master catalog through .CSV file, Product catalog schema through .XML and user defined characteristic schema through .XML file separately. System given message catalog updated successfully. But when I observed in product catalog user defined characteristics are removed from the product catalog the content of these fields is also wiped out from the items. Once the catalog was in this state, I mapped it to the Master Catalog and all the user defined characteristics show up in error. What could be the cause?? can any body Help (Urgent)

User defined field in SD and its link to Value field in COPA (??)

Dear All,
We have created one "Z" field i.e. user defined field and its in VBRP Table. This is a quantity field. to update the values in this field we have used an exit in sales and distribution module. Now, by defining this exit values are correctly populated in VPRP table on line item basis.
Requirement here is we need to get this field in COPA, for same i have carried out the quantity field assignment to value field (KE4M).
Even after this configuration profitability segment is not updated.

In the past I did something similar and had to use function module EXIT_SAPLKEAB_001 in enhancement COPA0002 to populate the field. To use this exit you'll first need to add a user exit id to your valuation strategy (transaction KE4U). The help on the function module is pretty good, but if you run into a problem let me know.

BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2 - Characteristic Number of User-Defined Data Type

We are using classifications in the DMS system (it is the same classification system as the sales order and a few other transaction types). We also have defined our own characteristic data types. If we manually go into CV01n and enter in values into the user defined characteristics everything works fine. However, if I specify them in BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2 the values are not created/stored. I get a null return on the return parameter so there isn't a warning nor is there an error.
Is there another way to set these values as it doesn't look like it will work with BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2?

To change User defined Value field from Amount to Quantity in COPA

I have created a created a User defined Characteristics VV930 - Number of labor hours. While creating, i wrongly assigned the chategory Amount instead of Quantity.
Now when i am trying to change it is giving me errors.
Also it is not allowing to delete and recreate the new VV930 with category as Quatity.
No data is posted in COPA.

1. Remove it from your COPA data structure in KEA0... Shift it from Left to right in data structure screen... Then try to delete it
2. Else, reserve this Value Field for future use and change the name as of now to XXXXXX...Create a new Qty Field for your use now.

User defined Characterestics not being updated in actual line items

Gurus!
I am using Accounting Based COPA only.
I have defined a user based characteristic for which I am using user exit to derive.
However, this charaterstic is not getting updated in actual line items.
The derivation is working correctly at Sales order and Invoicing documents. (account assignment tab).
Where could I be going wrong??

Hi,
Please check the settlement rule of the sales order and check whether the relevant characteristics have been maintained in the settlement rule of PSG. If not, you may have to include the same.

Linking a User Defined Field in Items table

How to Link a User Defined Field in 'Item Master Data' table, to my own User Defined Table?
Example:
In Item Master Data table, I want to add 3 User Defined Fields, for e.g, Country, State and Region.
When the value of Country combo is changed, values loaded in State and Region combos should change automatically.
I'm storing the relationship between Country,State and Region in my own user defined table. I want to load the comboboxes with a query from that table.
Or, if there's no solution to the above problem:
when the Item Master data table is opened, can we launch our own form?
Is there a way to specify that?
Please reply me back.. I'm a beginner learning SAP.

Multiple input arguments in User defined funcions

I have to extract one-one field and map to corresponding single fields at the receiver side.
Have i presented properly.

Tabbed navigation,Theme change and User define templates problem

Hi,
·     I have created an application in which I have defined many page,page regions,buttons,forms templates myself.
·     The end user has now requested for a tabbed look and feel for the same and that too in a different theme (color red)
·     However, inclusion of tabs to the application plus a change in the theme color (to red) in this case causes all user defined templates to behave erratically.
·     I guess these templates will have to be redefined in this new theme. I tried to copy some of these today but got weird results.
Without all these templates in place the look and feel of the application will not be as usual.
·     Also,I had posted a thread on the APEX forums concerning tabs and have received information that each page in the application has to be manually added to the tab set in a situation such as this.This will really increase the time taken to achieve the desired application navigation.
I would appreciate some good advice as how to get this appliction navigation running smoothly in a tabbed format in the least possible time.

I would have a look at the Lists in Shared Components which allow you to create Tabs as well.
They are a bit more flexible.

Rebate, see rebate payments in user defined info structure (SIS)

Hi Gurus...i hope you can help me
The client need to see the rebate payments for each material in a user define info structure (S500) where the material is a characteristic of the infostructure and the payment is a ratio
I get to show the accrued value per material but no the payment
If the system show me the accrued value for at material level in a infostructure..i supose is possible to show the payment value?
I did create a S520 info structure as copy of S060, but when i try to create a update rule for the payment ratio the system show me the follow message
"Only source fields from MC communications structures allowed"
please let me kow how i did wrong....

Payments of rebates in SAP ERP are credit notes (billing documents).
Therefore you should see them in the sales infosystem as billing documents.
If you add the billing document type in the sales infostructure as a characteristic, then you will be able to report on rebate payments because they always have a specific billing document type.

User defined attributes - usages

Hi,
I would like to hear how other OA developers have used user defined attributes for an item, if they have used it. I would appreciate if you could share that information.
As for me, I used it for items (messagetextinput, choice etc) in my custom search region to assign attribute names to these items to know what the values given by the user should be associated with and searched for. I had to create a custom search region since query region from oaf didn't allow to associate more than on VO to it.
I just want to see what other purposes others have used the user defined attributes to get a better understanding of it.

1.5.5 Cannot add user defined report to folder

Hello,
the context menu on folders in user defined report show only two options: copy and export. No way to add new folders or reports. I migrated my settings from 1.5.1.
Though I can add a new folder directly at the root of user defined reports. But then SQL Developer won't restart (using 100% of my dual core until I kill the process).
Running WIN XP JDK 1.6.10

Hello Sue,
I already tried the current production version 2.1.0.63.73 and the problem is still there.
In addition I did yet another test without migrating the old reports, connections etc. by renaming the appropriate folder in C:\Documents and Settings\michael\Application Data.
Afterwards I imported my own reports.
However there was no chance to move or delete any sub folders containing my reports. I only could copy or export sub folders or delete single reports.
And after restarting sqldev the same behavior occurred on the new folders just created: Only export and copy are available accessing the context menu.
Any suggestions? Do I have to re-create every single report?

Today I found out that changing the language settings for sqldev to English by adding the appropriate settings in sqldeveloper.conf located in \...\sqldeveloper-2.1.0.63.73\sqldeveloper\bin (mentioned below) does solve the problem.
AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
AddVMOption -Duser.country=US
AddVMOption -Duser.region=US
AddVMOption -Dfile.encoding=GBK
By deleting these additional settings the error is reproducible.
In addition with the English language settings the "Tip of the Day" appears running version 2.1.0.63.73 first time and it doesn't work that way without the additional settings mentioned above.
