Gracias!

My problem is solved . I was using wrong jar file...

  • Designer Version for O9i ver.  9.2.0.1.0 ?

    Hi,
    Where can i get Oracle Designer version that goes with Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 for Win2K ?
    I have downloaded the ones currently available -
    A99230-01.zip
    A99231-01.zip
    But these are for 9.0.2.0.1 and while installing this on top of 9.2.0.1.0, it gives error "Oracle9iAS cannot be installed into an existing Oracle9i 9.2.0.1.0 or higher Oracle Home"
    There seems to be a version mis-match. Where can i get the latest one for my 9.2.0.1.0 ?
    Thnx.

    Hi Suneet,
    There is actually no 9i Designer version 9.2.0.1.0.
    From the information you provided, it seems you are
    trying to install the full 9iDS pack (9.0.2.0.1) on
    the top of a 9.2.0.1.0 database, which I would not
    advise. Install the products in this way:
    1) 9i database 9.2.0.1.0 into one home
    2) 9iDS 9.0.2.0.1 pack into a separate home
    3) 9i Designer 9.0.2.5.0 into the iDS home
    9i Designer 9.0.2.5.0 is available from our Designer
    pages here on OTN.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error when trying to copy a work area in Oracle designer

    In oracle designer,I tried to copy a work area by selecting.
    File-->>Change work area.
    Then from the "Work area" pop up window,I selected the new option.
    In the Create work area wizard i chose "Copy a work area" and gave the Name ,description and the work area to be copied.
    When i click the finish button,I am getting the following error.
    "CDR-01005: Workarea compilation failed: ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows. "
    Please let me know how to copy a work area in Oracle designer.
    Thanks in advance.

    Note 277801.1
    Views Return Records From The Wastebasket.
    Possible Symptoms
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    1) executing a SELECT FROM CI_... views return more rows than expected.
    NB: the name of the trigger (SDD_TAB_D in the above example) will vary
    depending on the object type you are deleting
    4) Compilation of a Workarea fails with the following errors:
    CDR-01005: Workarea compilation failed:
    ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows.
    Workaround
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    For symptoms 1 and 2, define the context of a workarea before selecting from
    the CI_... views:
    exec jr_context.set_workarea ('<Workarea Name>');
    For the other symptoms, the errors are caused by RDBMS bugs that were fixed
    in the last patch set releases of databases.
    We recommend that you upgrade to a version of the database that is certified
    with the release of Designer that you are using.

  • How to track changes made in the ERD in oracle designer

    I want to track all changes made in my ERD in oracle 10g designer. Please suggest how to achieve it.
    use case: An ERD was approved in design phase. Few changes were made by development team and now in Implementation phase I need to track what all changes were made from say 3-Jan-12 to 3-Mar-2012
    Edited by: 909570 on Mar 5, 2012 1:14 PM
    To add here:
    Designer Version is 10.1.2.0.2.
    1. In my project versioning of ER is not being used so ER Version diff is not an option for me.
    2. In Reports, there are options for getting all entities, attributes which are created/modified in a period. But it seems it is not giving me correct results.
    Edited by: 909570 on Mar 5, 2012 1:14 PM

    Since versioning if off, there is no way to track changes.
    You can get a rough overview of possible changes by looking at the audit attributes (date created, date modified) in the properties palette, but that is already mentioned in your point 2.
    Basically, developers should comment what they added/modified.

  • How i will run copy the file in oracle 7.3 ?

    how i will run copy the file in oracle 7.3.
    new version of oracle copy function is available in util_file but in oracle 7.3 this is not available.here i am using 7.3.
    please help
    Thanks
    Deepak S.

    The technique used to be to send messages from your procedure to a waiting shellscript listener using DBMS_PIPE. You would write a script (could be ksh, Perl, Ruby etc) on the server with a loop in which it connects to the database and waits for DBMS_PIPE messages. When it gets one, it executes the command that was contained in the message and loops around to continue waiting again.
    7.3 is really ancient though. If you're running it at all this far out of support it should really just be ticking over and not subject to new development.

  • Oracle Designer 10g With Oracle 11g DB possible

    Hi,
    Please clarify my below query,
    we are currently using oracle designer 10g and deploying the components to production DB which is in oracle 9i, We are planning to migrate to oracle supported version 11g DB, since oracle designer 11g is not there we would be sticking to oracle 10g itself, Now my question is, will we be having issues or road blocks with this combination Oracle designer 10g and Oracle 11g DB???
    Regards
    Bala

    @Erik
    Don't have a doc id. You have to go to the certication tab in My Oracle Support. Search for Oracle Designer 10.1.2.6.0 there you will find the three supported database version.
    Oracle Designer 10.1.2.6.0 is certified with Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0 on Microsoft Windows (32-bit) XP
    Oracle Designer 10.1.2.6.0 with Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0
    Customers must review MetaLink Doc 1299040.1 Application Design Transformer Hangs at 65% when running against Oracle 11gR2

    Oracle Fusion Middleware 10g 10.1.2.0.2 Oracle Developer Suites 10g 10.1.2.0.2 Oracle AS/DS Patch Set 10g 10.1.2.3.0
    @Bala
    Colleagues of mine have imported a designer repository inside 11gR2 and where not able to change objects inside the repository. When they imported the same designer dump inside an 11gR1 database it worked fine.
    In the other post (Re: 11G compatibility it is also written that there are some major bugs and those bugs will not be fixed.

  • Generation of DDL similar to Oracle Designer (Data Modeler 3.0 EA1.)

    Hi,
    Will the production version of SQL Data Modeler allow the creation of separate DDL files similar to that which Oracle Designer does? For example, I can create a sequence number generator in Data Modeler (DM) and then make a call to that in an Object Type method. However the DDL file that is generated by DM has all DDL in one file. This would allow to take dependencies were taken into consideration, that is create the sequences before object types, packages and tables, then object type bodies, package bodies, etc...
    Thanks,
    ScottK

    At this stage we do not support multiple files. We do plan to do this in the future. However you can work around this by repeating the DDL generation for the different objects types you want to have files for.

  • Oracle Designer 6.0 rel. 2.1.2  hazy installation

    I'm trying to install an oracle designer 6.0 rel 2.1.2.
    I have installed oracle server 8.1.7 on WIN NT workstation
    machine hp p700 128mb. The 8.1.7 server is installed without
    java server because PARAMETER COMPATIBLE = 8.0.5, compatibility
    with 8.0.5 oracle server, needed for designer 6.0 to work ( as
    per docs ).
    I install repository on server then start repository manager on
    client and go create repository. The repository procedure starts
    working then stops at this stage:
    CKRAU20.EXE
    STAGE DETAILS
    CKPACK
    OBJECT DETAILS
    CIOUE_ELEMENT_TYPE
    SUBMITTING DEFINITION/STATEMENT
    CIUEET.OPB
    There's no other way out than killing the process. The problem
    is exactly the ciueet.opb sql package; executed standalone
    against sqlplus, stops everything the same.
    As anybody ever hear about something similar or can guess the
    cause/workaround?
    thank you, daffy duck

    Designer versions prior to version 6.5.40 (aka Designer 6i
    Release 2) will strike this problem when attempting to import or
    install a repository on Oracle database version 8.1.7.
    Patchset 7 for Designer 6.0 has a workaround included so that
    Designer 6.0 can now avoid this problem.

    This problem occurs because Oracle9i import and export utilities are not
    compatible with an Oracle 8.1.7 database. This not a bug but an
    Oracle9i design feature.
    Workaround:
    To install Oracle SCM on an Oracle 8.1.7 database, you will first need to
    install Oracle 8.1.7 import and export utilities in a separate Oracle
    Home. The registry variables EXECUTE_IMPORT and EXECUTE_EXPORT need to be
    changed to point to these 8.1.7 import and export
    utilities instead of to the Oracle9i versions. These variables are found under
    the key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\REPOS61
    Note that when installing the 8.1.7 import and export utilities, the following
    error may be encountered:
    There is no oracle.swd.jre 1.1.8.10
    The workaround here is to use the Oracle Universal Installer installed onto
    your hard disk with the Oracle9i install, to install the Oracle 8.1.7
    components.
    Hope this helps

    Thanks for any feedback,
    Jim

    Found the problem.
    It was an issue with the CURSOR with the SELECT ... FROM (SELECT CASE WHEN THEN ELSE END). After swithing to the DECODE statement, Designer is able to generate the package.
    CASE
    WHEN ISOLATION_IND = 'Y' THEN
    'A'
    WHEN OPERATED_IND = 'Y' THEN
    'B'
    ELSE
    'C'
    END
    decode(ISOLATION_IND,'Y','A',decode(OPERATED_IND,'Y','B','C'))
    However, still strange to me that Designer doesn't like the CASE as part of SELECT.

  • Create a new user on Oracle Designer 6

    I know this version is not supported anymore but the client still uses it.
    I have to create a new repository user and it's done but the user doesn't have access to the different application systems. I get the error CDI-20540 and i can't find a way to give the user access.
    This is what i did:
    I've created the user in the database.
    Next, I got into Maintain Users in Repository Admin utility and I insert a row for the user by selecting the oracle user I just recreated.
    The user should now have access to designer repository and he he can connect but he has no access to any application system.
    I go into Repository Object Navigator and I go to Application - Grant Access by Application.
    I click on Add User but the repository user doesn't show up.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks!

    This has been a lot of years ago but I will try to
    help
    1. grant the user all of the required permissions by
    SYS
    connect, resource, create sequence, creat synonyn,
    create table,
    Then you will need to select the Maintain Users
    button.
    This will allow the user to connect to the reposity.
    However they cannot see any of the application
    except the ones they create.
    age 2-28 of the instalation guide.
    ( I do not why I still have that manual here)
    To view the other applications theyse must be granted
    by the application owner.
    Page 918 of the Oracle Designer Handbook shows the
    Grant Access by User screen. needsto be set for you
    to view the applications.Thanks for replying but my problem is when I got to Grant Access by User screen, I don't see the user i just created. (Oracle user exists and i can connect to the repository as newly created user).
    That's kinda strange and i'm not sure what else i can try.

  • Oracle Designer User Manual

    Hi Friends,
    I plan to learn Oracle Designer, Please help me to get Documentation(Pdf,.doc).
    I searched lot in Google, but no use.
    Regards,
    Kishore

    I'm not surprised that Google didn't tell you much - Oracle Designer was never a really popular product, and now is slowly dying. Which makes me wonder why you want to learn Designer? Don't get me wrong, it's a great product, and I'm REALLY sorry that Oracle isn't developing it further. Still, I would suggest that SQL Developer Data Modeling, or the UML-based design tools built into JDeveloper are probably better long term choices for the newbie, even though they don't have much in the way of application generation capabilities.
    As for documentation - when you install Designer you will get a good amount of documentation installed with it. Pay special attention to the Help files - these are really quite good IMHO. Beyond this, check out the Designer pages on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/designer/index.html where you will find links to the Oracle documentation, and a few white papers and tutorials.
    For third party sources, look at the book, Oracle Designer Handbook by Paul Dorsey and Peter Koletzke. This was written for Designer 2.1, but a lot of it is still valid for the current version. And EVERY Designer user should be a member of the Oracle Development Tools Users Group (ODTUG) - the Designer white papers on the ODTUG website, http://www.odtug.com/ will give you information that isn't in the official documentation. That is especially true if you'll be using the versioning capabilities of Designer. It's worth the price of membership, but if you can't afford that, you can become an associate member for free and get access to most of the papers.
