Here are two files you can check on/help me with.  When I try again,  it

    Pointing, clicking, and getting around
When you move your mouse or finger on a trackpad, you control a pointer (also known as a cursor) that moves across your screen. The pointer allows you to select and interact with the various items on your screen, including selecting files, clicking buttons, dragging sliders, and so on. Sometimes the pointer may look like a hand, a crosshair, an I-beam, or another icon, depending on what you're doing and the application you're using.
For example, if you're using Safari to view this webpage and move the pointer across it, notice that it turns into an I-beam when you move it over text or a text field. When you see this, you can usually interact with the text or field below it. When you move the pointer over a button or link, the pointer turns into a hand, letting you know that you can click on the item.
Depending on what you're doing and what application you're using, your pointer (far left) may change appearances
Clicking your mouse button or trackpad button once allows you to select the item that your pointer is on. In other words, if your pointer is on a file's icon, clicking once will select it. If the pointer is on a button or link, clicking once will activate it. If your pointer is on a text field, clicking once highlights the field and allows you to start typing text in it.
If you want to open a file, folder, or application, click your mouse button or trackpad twice. This is known as double-clicking. In general, you'll need to double-click items if you want to open them from a Finder window or the desktop. The exception to this is opening stuff from the Dock—just click once on an icon in the Dock to open it.

How to copy and paste a photo in another folder using Aperture?

What do you want to achieve? Do you really want to create a copy of an image, and thus create a second copy of the master image file? You will waste disk space this way.
Usually you would create new versions of an image, if you want versions with different adjustments. Versions do not require much additional disk space. But all versions of an  image have to be in the same project. To create a new version: Main menu bar -> Photos -> Duplicate Version
To create a copy of an image in another project (and to waste the space ) drag the image to another project while holding down the option key. This will create a copy in the other project.
Sofar nobody here could come up with a good reason why one would want to create a copy. I am curious what in your workflow requires you to do that. Would you mind to tell us?
    Regards

  • How can I copy and Paste in the newly converted PDF to WORD?

How can I copy and paste in the newly converted document?  I can save it to any Word format and cut within it, but not paste what I just cut or copy and paste.

Try copying all of the content in your Word document to a new document, then see if you can selectively copy and paste.
Let us know if that helps!

  • How do I convert to black & white in Layers?

I am using Scott Kelby's book Elements 6. He tells how to convert to black & white in the Layers palette.  I must have something checked incorrectly.  WHen I do as he writes only parts of the picture are in black and white.  I have a gradient problem.  I need to get the tool to the default setting.

Like Mark, I don't have the book so can only guess which method Scot Kelby is using in his tutorial.
Before you reset the took, press D to reset your tool box colors to the default black and white. You might have your tool box color chips set to colors which would result in gray being painted in the mask.
Unless the tutorial you are using gives a blend mode for the gradient tool, make sure it is in Normal blend mode.
Check if you are getting the expected results.
    If not...
Reset Tool instructions can be found here:
    http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/ss/10tipspse7_9.htm
Are you dragging a gradient in a layer mask or an adjustment layer mask?
Keep in mind if you are masking: Areas with black paint will be hidden (effect... black and white in this case... will not be seen); areas in white will be revealed (effect...black and white in this case...will be displayed or shown); areas that are gray will be semi-transparent (the amount of transparent is dependent on the brightness value of the shade of gray...think feathering.)
Here's another tutorial about how to make a black and white with a splash of color:
    http://www.alibony.com/pse/061608bw-convert.html
The above  tutorial I have linked below uses a clipping mask/clipping group...same thing; different name. If you have PSE 9, you can just create a mask beside the black and white conversion without doing the clipping mask step(s).
If using the smart brush, there are instructions in this thread:

  • How to Convert to Black & White?

I am currently using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard Edition. I have a .pdf document that contains colored font. I want all the font to be black but nothing is working. I have tried to "print" to Adobe, selecting the Black & White option, but the color will not convert. I do not want to have to save my .pdf as another file, convert, and then re-.pdf it. Is there a way to convert to black and white within Acrobat itself?

    Thanks and blessings on you.
This worked for me when the "Convert to Composite gray" did not.
My starting pdf file was cmyk and the type was a 57% black boosted with 60-70% of the other process colors. Converting to composite gray gave me a medium dark gray type, not black; and "convert colors to black" worked for the type but blasted the illustrations.
Acrobat has so many damn settings and options; you suspect there must be one that will do what you want, but trial and erroring it can be a long and frustrating process. Bless you for sharing your expertise.

  • Where did convert to black + white go in Acrobat DC?

Adobe Acrobat just updated to DC this morning and now I cannot find out where the convert colours tool went. I need to convert .pdfs to black+white constantly.
Does anyone know? I can't find the answer anywhere.

It's under Print Production, which is the tenth icon on the Right Hand Panel.
Then select Print Production and Convert Colors is the fourth item down the Right Hand Panel.

  • CAN I COPY AND PASTE A PHOTO OR CLIPART IN WITH THE TEXT MESSAGE

I'D LIKE TO ADD MY OWN EMOTICON JPEG OR PHOTO PICTURE WHERE FIREFOX PLACES THEM FROM THE SIDE MENU
    THANKS

    Hi there,
You can have both copies in the same shape layer, but you will not be able to move them as separate objects anymore. To merge them into the same shape layer select both layers in the layers pallete by holding down CTRL and clicking on a PC or holding down Command and clicking on a Mac:
Then click the Panel menu in the layers pallete:
Then choose Merge Shapes from the pop up menu that appears:
And that's it! Now both shapes will be in the same shape layer.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you need further clarification or if you have any other questions. : )

  • Convert to black & white?

New FCE user. What's the easiest way to convert clips, or a whole project, to black and white?

Thanks Tom. It worked fine. But I do notice that the effects tab in the browser is gone? There's one tab with my project name on it, and I usually see another tab with "effects" next to the first tab, but it's no longer there. To take your advise I chose the effects "button" way up top. Have I corrupted my project somehow? Is there a way to get that effects tab back on my browser? Or does it matter? C.

  • How do i copy and paste photo files

I have only recently become an iMac user and can't find a way to copy and paste photos which in turn is giving me lots more folders than I want.
Is there a 'dummies' way of learning?
    Thanks

I have worked it out!  WooHoo!!
I was trying to copy and paste 4 photos at a time from one folder to another but instead of going from folder to folder, I was actually going from folder to individual photos column.  Probably doesn't make sense to you, but it's all good now.
    thank you for your help
