Coping with the Changes to Preview's Scanning Functions

OSX 10.6 --> 10.8 | MBP | Canon Canoscan LiDE 210
I'm scanning a ton of very old family photos using the above setup. I began the process using Snow Leopard and have since upgraded to Mountain Lion and...things done changed.
I'll figure out a new workflow for this on my own as it needs to get done, however, I'm curious if I'm missing something or if anyone knows of a better workflow.
With Snow Leopard, I would overview scan a scanner bed of images; detect seperate items; use a custom filename and allow Preview to serialize the new images; select the destination folder; click scan; and boom... finished. Images are scanned one by one from the bed and new files are created and viewable in Finder.
NOW...
With Mountain Lion, I follow the same workflow as above, until I run into a roadblock: The "Scan To" pop up menu does not exist. So, I scan anyway and end up with a new Preview window that contains (eventually) all of the images on the scanner bed, filenames "untitled". I then have to go and save each one of those individually from that second Preview window. Then I have to breath deeply to calm myself down as I am allergic to inefficient workflows.
So, is this another case of "should have stuck with Snow Leopard", or, have I missed something in this updated version of Preview?
As mentioned, I'll be exploring other scan workflow options. Your opinions are encouraged.

Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
The first step should give you usable permissions in your home folder. This step will restore special attributes set by OS X on some user folders to protect them from unintended deletion or renaming. You can skip this step if you don't consider that protection to be necessary.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word, all lower case, with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select

HT1807 I travelled to a different country & using a new sim; with the change in sim, I have been unable to use iMessage & FaceTime. Cant replace replace the earlier no with the current one and it reads error. how to correct this?

I traveled to a different country and using a new sim/new carrier. With the change in the sim, I have been unable to use the iMessage--outside of WiFi coverage area, and FaceTime at all time. I believe it is due to the phone number registered as an address in the phone, which has not changed with the change of sim; so it countinues to showing as an error while varifying the data.
Wonder if any of you are in a position to advise as to how to address the following.
1. I need to input correct phone no, meaning the number I am using in the correct location.
2. I need to activate FaceTime and be able to use it.
3. I need to be able to use iMessage and/or ordinary sms while outside of WiFi coverage area.
It may be mentioned in my current location I don't have GPRS on the cell phone which is the case in my regular station.

HT4847 I had a previous e-mail address associated with my Apple Account. I change this, but Cloud did not update with the change. Now I can't log-in under the old I.D. and when I try to provide a password or get through by providing my BD it says it is

For some reason when trying to get ito Cloud, I can't get into my previous e-mail address to make changes, which I must do to delete it. Cloud does not recognize my old password and the system does not seem to associate my BD with it. I knowlonger have the old e-mail address associated with Cloud.
I have a new e-mail associate with my Apple account and a new password. The problem is trying to get Cloud to recognize my new I.D.

You have to delete the old account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

My trouble's background is:
A CBO table(ZIEBTCIITM) saves invoice items .
There are three fields relevant to quantity in it.
And they have the corresponding data elements with the same type QUAN,13 characters and 3 decimals.
Now because the quantity is so small,for example 0.00004,that the 3 decimal digit is not suitable.
I want to change the CBO table to adapt my business,so the quantity fields' decimal should be expanded firstly,and there are transction data in the CBO table.
My question is :
1) Is it necessary to backup the CBO table before data element change?
2) What should I do is Only to expand the data elements' decimals?
Anyone can give me suggestion?

To be on the save side I would suggest to export the table entries to Excel and create a transport request containing the original table and its entries:

Next you should create your own data element (or search for a suitable standard data element), e.g. ZQUAN13_5 (13 digits, 5 decimals).
Replace the data element of the DB fields with your new data element and activate the DB table.
I expect that nothing will happen to the entries in the DB table except that your quantity fields should have 5 decimals now.

Issue with the change of GL Account in MIRO.

We are having a situation where user Creates a Purchase order against a Cost Account and thus have a cost center as one of the account assignments. But when it comes to to MIRO, user changes the Cost Account to Balance sheet Account and posts the document.
The Miro documents post against the balance sheet with the cost center and system does not give any warning or error.
Any ideas on how to either stop the user from changing the GL in MIRO or make sure that it throws an error.

You could set up FI validations to make sure that when you enter a balance sheet account that you check the company preference. That could be no cost center or require a profit center. You define your preference. Use tcode MIRO and check balance sheet type account then check to be sure that cost center is not used. Validtions are in OB28.

Issue with the change pointer for the reduced message type ZMATMAS

I have created reduced message type ZMATMAS for the MATMAS to create a Idoc when change or insert material master data fields( MARA-LAENG, MARA-BREIT, MARA-HOEHE) . My Problem is that the Idoc is generated with the status (03) but the fields(LAENG, BREIT,HOEHE) are not getting fill with the values. They are always filling with the values '/'). I have done the following steps to create idoc for the change pointer. Please check whether i have missed some steps.
1.     Create reduction maintenance ZMATMAS (Tcode BD53)
keep the default selected segments E1MARAM, E1MAKTM
2.     Add following data to maintain table view for the message type ZMATMAS (Tcode BD52)

Database table not updating with the changes

Hi friends,
                Iam having a tablecontrol where iam gettting the data from the ztable for a particular key field. When i change certain fields in the table control and when i click save, it should update the changes in the ztable.
   module save output.
   modify zslip_po1 from table x_po1_slip.
here slpno is the key field. if I change a field for a particular slpno it should update the changes for that slpno value only.
but it is not updating the changes. although iam setting the slpno field dynamically.
Please give me ideas.

Hi,
1. Have 2 Internal Tables, the first one must contain the original data(before change ) and the second one contains the update data(after changed ie. table control data).
2. loop the first table and read the data from the second table using index.
3. inside the loop, compare the work area of both the internal table.
   if both are same, then no change was made to that particular record, so no need for updation
   if both are not same, then some changes were made on that record, so need to update.
4. use modify command to update that particular record from the work area.
i think in performance wise also this logic will be helpful, since we are updating only the changed record.
since this is addon table, so i hope the no of records will also less, so no need to worry about loop.
check with this, it may work out......

Inserted a png PIP into my clip, can see it fine, can see it playing with the clip as expected when moving the play head manually, but cannot get it to play with the clip for preview, pleas help!

I am sorry if my inquiry here seem dumb but I am a new iMovie user and cannot figure this out. I inserted a png image into my video clip in the project as PIP, I can see it and move it and can also see it playing with the main clip if I move the play head manually, I can also see the PIP part only playing along with the undelying main clip if I use the Play button in the preview window when the PIP section is selected, however, for the life of me I cannot get it to play with the main clip all together for previewing the entire video via the video play button. What happens is that the video plays normally and when the PIP section comes in, the video clip stop all motion during the duration of the PIP section and the PIP image itself is simply NOT showing. Am I missing something really stupid here? It seems as it the Picture On Picture is a separate clip that plays with the underlying main video clip if selected and played by itself but it is not part of the video clip and will not play with it. What am I missing here, can anyone please help?

The easiest way to get up and running is to convert your MP3s to MP4s (obviously there won't be a video track). The following link links to a file that was an MP3 that I converted to an MP4 using QT Player Pro. When you go to export the files, make sure you click on "Options" and then check the box for "Enable Streaming" in the Streaming tab. It should stream flawlessly using QT Player. rtsp://rhsstreamit.rih.org/testmp4/Scorpion.mp4
Make sure you place the media to be streamed in the proper folder. You should only get a "404" message if the physical file doesn't exist.

Project change with the change in requirements

Dear All
My client has the following requirements:
When the requirements from the customer change, changes to time, resources and budget have to be managed.
What iam thinking is as soon as the requirements change, a ECR is created for the change in requirements document, which on release will notify the concerned person/PM to analyze the impact on the project.
Please suggest me if there is any other way to map this scenario in PS or cProjects?
