  • Rename or copy a dashboard in OBIEE

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to rename a dashboard? If I open a dashboard > Page Options > Edit Dashboard > Dashboard Properties (in Dashboard Editor), I can only set properties for the Dashboard and delete, rename, and reorder dashboard pages. There seems to be no way to rename the Dashboard itself.
I also tried to go to Dashboard Administration -- here, you can only delete or change access permissions of the dashboards or go to dashboard editor. No option to rename.
I can't seem to find a way to copy a dashboard and then rename it either -- copy may work using the catalog manager, but seems like I won't be able to rename the copied dashboard either.
Can anyone point me to the right direction?
    Thanks!
    KM

I have successfully created a new dashboard and copied all pages from an existing one to the new one. I tried to do the same thing by creating a new folder and then copying an existing dashboard folder into the new one (assuming I can get all the pages) and it resulted in all my dashboards disappearing. I can still see them all unde _portal, and I didnt move anything (just copy).  I later deleted my new folder and everything is back to normal.  Any idea why this happened?  I dont recall changing any security setting, or deleting or moving anything..simply a copy.  Any ideas are appreciated.

  • Copy dashboard page

    Hi,
How to copy a dashboard page,. I'e 4 pages in my dashboard, i just need to copy one of the pages into same dashboard.
    Thanks,
    Malli

If you are using OBIEE 11g then click on the "Catalog" link in the global header.
From there navigate to the dashboard folder you wish to copy from and click on that folder. The right-pane will show the dashboard pages.
    Click on More > Copy
Then go to the dashboard folder you wish to have this new page pasted. Navigate through the folder structure click on the folder in question and from the item icons under the folder table (left of the location label that shows the folder path) click the "Paste" icon.
    Done.
    Cheers,
    Christian

  • Migration A report or A Dashboard from One Env to Other ?

    Hi All,
How do we migrate a DasHBOARD or a REPORT from One env to Other env manually as well as with Catalog manager ?
    Thanks
    Shivaji

    Hi Shivaji,
Open your catalog manager 2 times i mean 2 catalog managers (2 instances)
Login in one catalog manager with the source from where you want to copy the reports..
Login in another catalog manager with other , which is target.
Now copy from the existed folders and paste in particular folders you want...
As per my knowledge, there is problem while copying dashboard pages.. and you need to create the dashboard pages manually and create objects..
i need to work on this and let you know..
I think you might have known how to copy the dashboards..
Go to particular _Portal* path of particular shared folder
There you find the dashboard pages.. and layout..
Need to copy these and paste in another environment
But no problem in copying the reports..
    Thanks & Regards

  • System Wide Data Formats Not copied from Development to test

I am using OBIEE 10g. When I copy my dashboards and reports via the Catalog Manager from the development environment to the test environment the system wide data formats are not being copied over. That is, all the ones that I saved under "Column Properties->Column Format->Save As System Wide Default" are not being copied over. I am using archive and unarchive in the Catalog Manager to move from development to test environment. So my question is where are these system-wide defaults stored and what do I need to do get them copied over?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
the system wide column formats are stored in catalog under system/metadata folder.
copy this folder from dev env to test env. via catalog manager, restart ps.

  • Dashboard Access

I created my dashboard logged in as the Administrator. I see it listed as 'My Dashboard' when I go into Answers. Now that I am creating other users, I want them to have the same dashboard. What is the recommended method for doing this?

To copy you need to go to Manage Catalog from Answers (see button on the top left side). Navigate from there to the dashboard in question. Don't forget to check the "Show Hidden Items" checkbox or you won't see the _portal folder. You will need to copy the dashboard pages and the "dashboard layout" so if you've created a "shell" dashboard, you will need to delete this first, before copying.

  • Start dashboard development

    Hello,
I'm new to development of obiee dashboards, can anyone advise me on what and where to start development? let's say, the rpd is now ready.
Should I create first set up folders & security of which users can access?
Or should I create first all the reports and dashboards using Administrator login, then set up folders, and copy the dashboards & reports to these folders?
or are there anything else that I should consider doing first?
    Thanks so much,
    Janne

    Hi,
Just login with administrator and create some reports and place those reports in dashboards.Save reports and dashboards under different group folders.Create some users and groups in rpd and apply object level security(Security to dashboards, pages and sections) to dashboards created..and so on :)
    To start up.....http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2009/07/obiee-how-to-get-started.html

  • Role for enduser to access Dashboards in Visual Composer in portal

    Hi,
I(developer) created 5 Dashboards using Visual Composer and published them (iviews) in a role.
As a developer i got VC role assigned to me in portal to  work on Visual Composer.
Now my requirment is to assig this Dashboard role to all users..so that users can access them in portal.
All the users have data authorisation for those 5 queries on which dashboards are built.Currently they are executing reports in portal
What roles do i need to assign to the Client/Endusers so that they are authorised to execute the dashboard reports
    Please update
    Thanks

    Hi,
Firstly, in portal go to Content Administration --> Portal Content --> Visual Composer and then search for your dashboard.
Copy your dashboard (put the iView in a page) page and paste as delta link in any newly created Role.
In User Administration, assign this role to all users.

  • Easiest way of moving a dashboard page?

I need to move a dashboard page made by a user to the dashboard area of another user. Is it possible? If so, what is the easiest way of doing it?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Fabio

Settings - > Administration -> Manage Presentation Catalogue
You will need to enable 'Show Hidden Items'
Find the folder the dashboard was created in, this will be either :
    \shared Folders\<folder name>\_portal\<dashboard name>
    or
    \users\<user name>\_portal\<dashboard name>
In the dashboard folders in the locations above you will see the pages , use the copy icon to either copy or move these to another dashboard folder (using the same location path templates as above).
    Watch out for :
Accessing user folders can only be done by that user, you may need to get the user to copy the dashboard page to a shared folder if you want to pick it up for them.
leave the "dashboard layout" file where it is and dont touch it. I have been moving dashboard pages in a single sign on environment using this method for a while (Single Sign On = no on-line catalogue manager). The page is only a reference to other objects (prompts, reports etc) so you only need to move the page. Obviously make sure the dashboard content has the correct permissions for the target audience !
Try that out and let us know how you get on.

    Dylan,
For step #2, you need to open the B1if Tools and there you will have an option on the to export different aspects of the BizStore.  There is a drop-down for what you want to export.
Once exported, you then need to use an xml editor to make the changes and then once done re-import the changed files.  You setup the new company information in the SLD option in B1if.
    Hope that helps,
    Eddy

  • Independent canvases into a multi-tab component

    Hi!
I built eight individual dashboards which I now would like to assemble in one, maybe two multi-dashboards tab components. I realize I could export the excel page of each one but I would still have to build the dashboards one by one into the tab component multi-dashboard. Is there any way to directly copy the dashboards and "paste" them into the multi-tab component?
    Thank you kindly!

    Gunderic,
There is one more option to get this...
Export the 1st dashboard to swf.
In the new dashboard, use the image component and import the swf file into the tab.
    Hope this helps...

  • Operations Manager 2012 Dashboard Copy/Paste?

Is there any possible way to copy and paste a Dashboard view in the Operations Manager 2012 console?
I have a user that has been using APG to display performance data from SMARTS and wants a similar experience with OpsMgr. The APG console is setup with dashboards for each server that include widgets for CPU utilization, memory utilization and
disk utilization. I can set the same thing up in an Operations Manager dashboard, but to do it for 100+ would be very time consuming. Why is the copy/paste function not available for dashboard views? Is there some other easier method to create
    dashboards, based on a template?

    Hi,
Dashboard don't have that function. To get more information about Dashboard, you can refer to this article.
