Copying a Calculated Field Value to another Field in the same List
Hello! I have a calculated field that uses an if statement to determine a score. IE A field called Downtime Score contains this calculate: IF Downtime Minutes =10, 100. (not correct formatting, just basic to get point across)
I simply want to use a workflow to copy the calculated value in Downtime Score (100) to another field called Final Downtime Score.
In the workflow, I current have the following: Set FinalDowntimeScore to CurrentItem:Downtime Score
When I log both to workflow history, they both show 0 in history. Nothing is copying.
The calculated field is a number and I tried both number and text fields for FinalDowntimeScore.
This is within SharePoint 2013 and using SharePoint Designer 2013.
Any help would be appreciated!Ok, I did the same test as you and it failed. I still return a 0 when I should see a 100.
Not sure if this helps but when even though we are using sharepoint designer 2013, we only have "SharePoint 2010 Workflow" available in Platform type when creating workflows.
Could you test again using SharePoint 2010 workflow as your platform type and see if you return the same results?
Thanks! -
Field with a default value from another field
I need to populate a field as the default value from another field that the user inputs. I've tried the scripting that I found from the below Topic in the Archived Forums, but I'm not able to make it work. I've tried numerous variations and still to no avail. I tried to make the scripting work in Acrobat 6 and then decided that maybe I needed to upgrade, so I'm now trying it in Acrobat 8 with no results. Can anyone help?

Acrobat 5 - field with default value of another field
Ben PF - 03:31am Mar 23, 2007 Pacific
How can I have a field date2 which has the default value of field date1, but which can be edited by the user if necessary without changing the value of date1.
I've tried, but I just can't figure it out!
Any help much appreciated.

This, or some variation of this, should work:
if(this.getField("date2").value == ""{
this.getField("date2").value = this.getField("date1).value;

Thanks very much.
I put it in at document level to start, but it didn't run the script automatically when date1 was first filled in, so I have put it in as a mouse exit action in date1 and it works a treat.
Thanks for your help.
BenOkay forget what I posted above and lets start over. Go to your first field and under Properties -> Actions Tab -> Select Trigger -> On Blur Run A JavaScript.
Put this:
this.getField("myField2").value = event.target.value;
Make sure that you replace ("myField2") with the actual name of your second field. I just tested this and it works for Acrobat version 6.
I haven't been doing as much javascripting as I used to, so sometimes I too make some basic mistakes. -
Fields required based on a value in another field
Hi,
I am looking to have fields required (Annual Revenues and # of Employees) based on the value of another field (Ownership). Basically, if the value is Public the user is required to enter the Annual Revenue and Employees fields. I thought about using dynamic layouts but the only key field for Accounts is Account Type.
Thanks,
CarynHi Caryn!
I think it is not possible for making #Employees and Revenues required depending on Ownership(as it is a look up field).. it should be possible if you want to do it on any other criteria other than ownership by just renaming the Account Type, Disable all the values of Account Tyope add new values to Pick List and make it driving picklist upon your requirements..
If you require Account Type, create a custom picklist "Account-Type" and add the values. -
10.1.3--Disable a field according to values of another field.
Hi,
I am trying to set a filed on the JSP to be disalbed according to values of another field.
eg. When the value in "ID" field is NOT 10 or 20, the "Bill" field should be disabled.
I have tried using only one condition which is when "ID" != 10 or "ID" != 20. They work fine. But when I try to combine two conditions together using "&&" sign, I got a syntax error. The JSP does not display at all. I asked an expert about it, the answer is:
#{(bindings.Deptno.inputValue.value !=10) &&(bindings.Comm.inputValue.value > 1000)}. I tried this on my application and got the same syntax error.
Has anybody had a similar situation? Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks in advance.
AnnieHi bsalvador,
I've had a simular situation once where I needed to make items disabled or required depending on a workflow step and on depending on other page items. Basically the disabling of items is done by javscript, keep in mind that readonly is not the same as disabled. When you use readonly, the item can still be manipulated with javascript. When you disable an item, the item is not even submitted to the database, so you have to make sure that your submit process can hadle that.
There are two different situations:
First you have the page load / page submit, there you can use PL/SQL to check which items should be submitted, hand them a javascript class or make them readonly/disabled straight away.
Second you have a situation where you want to disable certain items depending on the value of other items. This is done 'on the fly' and should be handled with a javascript function.
Keep in mind however that javascript runs client side and isn't a secure way to handle data integrity, so you would need a database process to validate which items need to be submitted as well.

Can JVM security policy be modified to access field values of private field
Can JVM security policy be modified to access field values of "private" field in a Class?
See http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Programming/JDCBook/appA.html#ReflectPermission.
Note that you will have to use reflection to access the fields once the security policy allows you to supress the access controls.

Changing a field based on another field
hi one and all
i am looking for a way to change a field based on another field. if i have item 2 and item 8 on the page and item 8 needs to be required based on item 2 based on a requirement, how would this be done.
ex if item 2 has a PO inputed, when it is moved off the field, item 8 should be changed from required false to required true. i have tried in both the process request and process form request with no luck
any suggestions.
thankshello again
after your input and after reviewing the tutorial ( which i accomplished based on data from a table but not a field ) , i did the following and have been fighting it for a day. am i doing this correctly
on the itemid OrgRptCode1 i changed the action type to firePartialAction and the event is name o1
then i added this code to see if the action would fire
if (pageContext.getParameter("OrgRptCode1") !=null) // either line will be commented out
if (pageContext.getParameter("o1") !=null) // either line will be commented out
System.out.println("Field is not empty");
else
System.out.println("Field is empty");
am i missing a step . also
when i enter the page i get Field is empty. when i enter the field and tab off i get the error page w/ this msg

Pass javascript field value to ABAP field value
Hi all,
how can i Pass javascript field value to ABAP field value and utilise that value within layout.since you are new here, may i suggest you to search the forum, before posting a question. This has been discussed many times here.
to set a js variable value to a ABAP variable value, you cannot do it on the client side, your page has to go for a server rountrip so that the value can be set into a ABAP variable.
for this we generally follow the approach of setting the js variable value to a hidden html element (input type=hidden) and submit the form, and then in oninputprcessing retrieve the value from the form field and set it to a ABAP variable.

Repeating a value in another field
I would like to make a field in a column equal to an amount previously entered in another field and am not familiar with Java Script. I will be using this field in a column that I will total at the bottom.
Using Acrobat Pro 9. Thanks in advance.
RegThere are a number of ways to do this. The simplest is to simply give both fields the same name and the values will automatically be the same. This isn't always possible, for example if you want one field to be read-only and the other not. If that's the case, you can use the following custom Validate script for the first field:
// Custom Validate script
// Set the value of Text2 to this field value
getField("Text2").value = event.value;
Finally, you can use a custom calculate script for the second field that is:
// Custom calculate script
// Set this field value to the value of Text1
event.value = getField("Text1").valueAsString; -
Render link depending on calculated value of another field
I am using jdeveloper 11.1.2

I want to render this command link depending on calculated function (FileExport.getTranslateFileName) using another fields in the table (row.SciId) as parameters
<af:column>
<af:commandLink" rendered="#{FileExport.hasTranslateFile}">
</af:commandLink>
</af:column>
how can I implement that without adding transient field?yes FileExport is managed bean
DCIteratorBinding iterator = getBindings().findIteratorBinding("UpdateRequestDCIterator");
Row row = iterator.getCurrentRow();
Object sciIdObject = row.getAttribute("SciId");
but I don't know how to get the correct value of (row.SciId) for each row in my table
my code always return the same value for the first row -
Automatic population of search help value to another field in module pool
Hello there,
I am developing a module pool screen, in which i have a table control field with fields PERNR and ARBPL along with other fields.
I have to give a search help for Pernr first field for which i have given a search help with the use of PM02 search help, given in the screen field level, in the same search help there is another field ARBPL, when the pernr is selected i have to get the corresponding Arbpl field value in the search help hit list and pass it to my field arbpl in my table control.
I tried with POV event as well with FM f4if_field_value_request but the return structure always filling one value only PERNR.
Is there any chance to get the both field values from the search help.

Change value in a field and reflect value of another field
Hi all,
I have a situation here where in the Single Customer View, under the Completed Task. When I changed the value of a field name called Status to "Completed" in the Edit screen and I save it, another field that is in the same screen called "Completed Date" will auto populate the current date as value. may I know how do I achieve this?
Thanks and appreciate for help
Regards,
AnsonHi !
You've got to create a workflow rule on Activity with the event trigger Before modified record saved.
The condition will be like this :
*[<Status>]=LookupValue("EVENT_STATUS", "Completed") AND [<Status>]<>PRE('<Status>')*
Then the action of this rule will update the field *"Completed Date"* with the value Today().
But you don't have to do it for the completed date field, because it's already filled automatically when you change the status to completed.
Hope this will help, feel free to ask more !

PO Form with Terms & Conditions that Change Depending on a Value in Another Field
Hi - I have read through the relevant topics in this forum and have attempted several of them without luck. I am currently working on a form in which there is an empty JFMain (I do not want to populate fields on this page since I don't want things in this page my "static" header - logos, title, etc. since the Terms and Conditions pages should not show any of this.) On my page 2, I have subforms for all my fields except my Terms and Conditions. (These fields are controlled by a data file.) On my remaining pages I have 3 sets of Terms and Conditions - all about a page long - hard-coded as text and placed in subforms with a dummy field off page to ensure they print. What I want to do is print the subforms from page 2 and then the applicable terms from page 3, 4, or 5 depending on the value in a field located in one of the subforms on page 2. What I currently get is my subforms and then ALL my terms printing. Any thoughts?
My preamble overrides look like this:
^define group:D_HEADER \field$POSITION\reserve".11",in\subformHEADER.
^define group:G_HEADER @group:D_HEADER.
^define group:dummy!FldNotAvail \groupG_Terms_Private_Commodity
^define group:dummy2!FldNotAvail \groupG_Terms_Private_Services
^define group:dummy3!FldNotAvail \groupG_Terms_Public
^define group:JfEndData!EndData @group:D_end.
I had to place the JFEndData! statement into the Preamble since the last subform with fields called before the Terms subforms has a global field from another subform above it. For whatever reason, it was duplicating this subform after printing the Terms and Conditions.
I tried adding a nested if statement into field that will control when I want each subform to print but it was ignored. I also tried hardcoding a group call into the preamble with the logic as well with no results. If someone has example code they can share, this would be great.I receive Adobe help forum posts via email and I've been saving a few for the pointers they contain. I have some saved that might help you out a bit...
A reply to the "Please can some one help me out......." post by Mr BoJangles on 10/29/2007 gives some information about forcing a subfield to be displayed.
A reply to the "Conditional logic" post by Marco Degl'Innocenti on 8/2/2006 gives information on initiating a subform based on the value of a field in the data stream.
A reply to the logic post by Marco DeglInnocenti on 2/22/07 also gives information on initiating a subform based on the value of a field.
I hope these can be of help. If you can't access them on the forum I can repost them. -
Printing field values to a PDF using a template
Hi
I have a set of field values stored in variables, I need to print these fields into a
PDF file. There is a template for this PDF , and each field value should go to a
specific location wrt the template on the new PDF. Could you any one
recommend a 3rd party API that can be used to do this purpose.I used iText (http://www.lowagie.com/iText/) to do
this.
I created the template as a PDF and used AcroForms to
create named fields within specific formatting within
the PDF.
// Create a BAOS into which to write the
PDF.
ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new
ByteArrayOutputStream();
// Load the PDF template and open the form fields.
InputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(
"template.pdf" );
PdfReader reader = new PdfReader( inputStream
PdfStamper stamp = new PdfStamper(reader,
baos);
AcroFields form = stamp.getAcroFields();
o set the text in a field:
form.setField("field_name", "field value");
// close the PDF and return the bytestream
stamp.close();
return baos;
It looks like that you are loading a PDF template from a file, and straight
away attempting to fill the form by using the name of the field. To do this shouldnt the
template PDF be formatted in a specific way to access the specific
location of the template where the field is.
Can you tell me if the template PDF file should be formatted in a specific way
to do this using iText. I was thinking of calculating the offsets of each field
and just print the data at that location.
And I very much appreciate your help so far. -
