Copy a movie from iPad Air2 to Mac

My girlfriend made a movie/video with her iPad Air2. Is it possible to copy this movie to my iMac although my iMac and her iPad don't "know" each other? What do I (or she) have to do so that we can exchange media?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for your tip. I tried it this way and succeeded to copy the file to my iPhoto. From there it isn't possible to make copies to usb thumb stick : although the thumbstick is empty, has a capacity of 16GB and the file is not more than 1 GB a message comes up saying that the destination is too small to copy the file. I split the file in 2 or 3 clips -with Quicktime- but no success : same message which is ridiculous! There must be a more clever way to distribute a short movie. Thanks anyway for your time.

Are you going to give us any additional clues as to what you are really asking here?
    1) The "HT5409" in your subject title reference implies you are dealing with AVCHD content. If true, then how did you transfer them to your iPad and how did you transfer them from your iPad to your your MacBook Air platform? As the HT409 topic clearly stated, this can be very important. In addition, how are the files stored? For instance , have you extracted the MPEG-4 AVC content as transport streams or is the content still in the device recorded file form? Are you trying to edit the content or convert it to M4V, MP4, or MOV files directly?
    2) The "can i convert movies from iPad to mac laptop" part of your subject title is confusing. Yes, AVCHD files can be converted to simpler MPEG-4 AVC content that is compatible with all current and most older Mac computers and Apple mobile devices in MOV, MP4, and/or M4V file formats. However, how you do this will depend on the current form of the data and the target settings you wish to employ to ensure compatibility with the various target device possibilities. Further, non-AVCHD content (e.g., HD iPad video recordings) can also be downconverted to simpler settings in a similar manner if needed or required if that is your questing.
    3) Depending on your operating system, both AVCHD and MPEG-4 AVC content should already be compatible with QT X v10.2 and v10.3 players if properly transferred to your laptop from the recording device. And, even if improperly transferred, may still be converted to useable/compatible formats as long as the file itself has not been corrupted by your, as yet, unspecified workflow.
    4) What does "will not play on my mac air laptop with quicktime installed" mean here? Are you trying to play an AVCHD movie in the QT 7 player or one of the QT X players? If the latter, which one? Are you getting any error message? If so, what are they? If not playing in your main user account on the computer, does it play useing a different account? Do the files play in other, third-party multimedia players?
Basically, your question is the equivalent of my saying my car won't start but failing to mention whether or not I am out of gas, my battery is dead, or that I have removoed the distributor cap, wires, or spark plugs from the engine. To properly solve the issue we need all possible information that you can provide describing exactly what you are doing, how you are doing it, what is not working as your expect it should, and what your goals are. In cases where you cannot answer such questions, it is often helpful to simply post/upload a sample "problem" file and let other users here examine it to determine the problem and/or suggest a specific solution for your particular system/configuration combination.

  • How to upload movies from ipad to computer

how to upload movies from ipad to computer

How does one copy movies which appear in the Videos App to a computer?  The article linked in Diavonex's post only describes how to copy videos and photos which appear in the Photos App.  I have movies on the iPad (visible only in the Videos App) which I synced from another computer and I can not sync them back to iTunes on my current computer.  If I try to turn on the Movie sync, it will erase those movies on the iPad and copy the ones on my computer to the iPad.  I do not have the old Mac from which the movies were originally synced, and I don't have the original movie files. These are not downloaded movies, they are movies I created myself and transcoded to .m4v format and synced to the iPad.  How can I copy/ transfer these movies off the iPad?

I completely understand what is happening. I know that you are connected to the Internet. I made the suggestion because I have seen it work in similar circumstances. The Apple iTunes servers can be a bit fussy about things and sometimes rebooting the router clears up this miscommunication between iTunes and your network.
Have you tried signing into your account and then try to sync again. Go to Store>View Account. You will have to enter your password. Then try to sync again. Or try signing out completely in Store>Sign out. Quit iTunes, sign in again and then try to sync again.
Sometimes refreshing settings will help clear up weird problems.

  • Do you know how to copy a movie from a Panasonic NV-GS70 to an iMovie Project?

Do you know how to copy a movie from a Panasonic NV-GS70 to an iMovie Project?

There is a link for an update for the USB driver here:
    http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Panasonic+NV-GS70&ie=UTF-8&o e=UTF-8
Other than that follow the directions for connecting it to a computer and in iMovie select Import
this should lead to a dialog for selecting clips for import.

  • HT4799 Why I cannot watch movies from Love film on my apple tv? The app is on my iPad and when I switch the movie from iPad to AppleTv only sound is on my TV screen.

Why I cannot watch movies from Love film on my apple tv? The app is on my iPad and when I switch the movie from iPad to AppleTv only sound is on my TV screen and no picture.

Many online media providers block this - Sky and Amazon Prime do too I believe.
I would have to assume that the app providers cannot offer video Airplay for contractual reasons with the movie studios though it may just be they don;t want to enable their apps to do so.
It's not Apple preventing this, while you could see it would be in Apple's interest to push people to the iTunes store for media it could also drive people away.

  • Transfer mp4 movies from iPad to iPad bypassing PC or Mac

Is it possible to transfer my own mp4 movies stored under Video app from one iPad to another iPad while away from home pc or Mac? I tried three apps: Feem Wifi file Transfer free, Instashare - transfer files the easy way, FileMaster File Manager and Downloader without luck because they only look at camera roll.

As far as I know the only way to get content from the Videos app on one device to another device is via a computer (except for iTunes purchases which you can potentially download on the second device) - the only apps that I know about are like the ones that you mention i.e. they can only see the content of the Photos app, not Videos
