  • Copy and paste page group?

    Hello,
Is there a way to copy a page group and paste into a new group instead of creating one from scratch?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
WebDAV ia an extension to the HTTP Protocol - you can use it to manage content on Web Servers. It's a very interesting topic - you can get more information here :
    http://www.webdav.org
You can access Portal via WebDAV with a URL of this format:
    http://<hostname>:<port>/<dav_location>
E.g.: the default Portal DAV URL is:
    http://<hostname>:<port>/dav_portal/portal
You connect to a portal in WebDAV clients using the same user name and password that you use to log in to the portal in the browser interface.
To set up WebDAV and use it :
If you are using Windows :
    1. Right-Click on "My Computer" & select "Map Network Drive...."
    2. Click on the "Web Folder ot FTP Site".
    3. Enter the WebDAV URL for your Portal ( in the format that I have mentioned ).
    4. Enter a name for your Folder.
That's it ! You can then see the Page-Group and the pages as folders. You can browse, copy or delete content as you would in your C: or D: Drive.

  • Copy a page from one page group to another

    Hi
Is it possible to copy a page from one page group to another?
    Regards,
    Lene

    Hi ,
Through Portal it is not possible to copy a page from one page group to another .
There is a feature in Portal WebDav .
Through a DAV client you can copy page to your local system as a folder and then drag the page to the pagegroup you want to copy .

  • Copying page from one page group to another

I need to copy one page or multiple from one page group DEV to page group TEST. I thought of using Portal Export/Import feature for the same, but it will ask for same page group at import.
Requirement is to keep one set of page group for DEV stage, when it got completed move it to TEST page group in same instance.
How we can achieve this functionality using single portal instance?
    Thanks & regards,
    Preet

I did not understand this and isn't working for me. :(
The message I receive when I click on the Copy link on the Navigator is:
Click "Copy Here" next to the page under which you want to create a copy of your page. Click the link next to the page group to create the copy under the root page of the page group. You can create a copy of a page only under a page in the same page group as the original page.
And it only displays the current page group with a tree structure of all the pages in the current page group (page group name being the root).
Please help me on this as I have a similar requirement and am using 10.1.2 version of Oracle Portal.

  • Oracle Drive - Copying page groups

I was just reading another thread regarding copying an entire page group. This is something I really need to do, but have no clue how to do it. Could someone explain the process please?
    Thanks so much!!
    Jenny

    Hi Jenny,
It's a very interesting Process - Oracle Drive leverages the WebDAV Technology to access Content Repositories.
WebDAV is an extension to the HTTP Protocol - HTTP has been traditionally used to "read" from different Servers - meaning, you wouldn't use HTTP to upload documents, delete documetns, etc. However, with the WebDAV extension, you can now do copy, paste, delete in a very convenient way ( youc an think of WebDAV as similar to FTP, but more lightweight ).
You just need to install & "configure" Oracle Drive - you just need to Tell Oracle Drive the URL of your Portal DAV Server & a username + password. Once connected, you can see the Portal Page Groups as Folders - you can then just copy & paste. It's very simple :).
I suggest that you have a look at this WhitePaper ( Technote: How to Install and Configure the Oracle Drive ) to get a good grounding on Oracel Drive :-
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/pdf/cm_webdav_oracle_drive_1014.pdf
    I hope that helps !

  • Move/Copy page outside its page group

    oracle 9ias:
I want to move a page from a page group to another.
I could try to update the table containing the concerning table manually (update WWPOB_PAGE$ and set siteid and parentid), but I have no idea if that is a safe solution.
Any ideas would be most welcome,
    A.B.

    Hi Angrydot,
I like your idea. However, being dealing with transport issues on almost daily basis for quite some time, I think it will not work either.
First, what I understood from your brief suggestion is this:
get the transport set by exporting a page group from source,
import the transport set on the target.
rename page group back to original page group name.
some of the problems will be as follows:
    - You may export a page group on the target which will no longer exist on the source. However, the GUID of the page group will stay the same during renaming. so future exports and transports will give you conflicts.
    - Note that the page-group and pages transports are supported if you delete the pages on the target machine. this is something which you get from the portal transport supportability scenarios. see note 333867.1 on Metalink.
    - also note that it is not supported to rename or edit on target machine, or to create a fresh page or page group on the target with the same name as you are importing in from the source.
    - Also renaming a default page group (like SHARED, or TOPLEVELSITE, etc) and trying to move content from it to another system will be problematic too.
I will be interested in knowing if you did a successful experiment of at least two successive transports in the way you prescribed.

  • Moving Pages from one Page Group to Another Group

    Hello,
How do you move pages, styles, or items from one page group to another page group?
On the same machine, I have three page groups called Production, Acceptance, and Test. Once I set up a page that I like on the page group Test, what is the best way to move the page(and its items, portlets, etc) to the page group Acceptance, and then move it into Production?
Also, how does security and approvals affect this? There is only limited amount of people that are able to get into the Test Page Group, or Acceptance Page Group. Would any copying process make sure the page approvers be copied across correctly? Or will manual intervention be needed.
I'm using Oracle Portal Release 2 (9.0.2) running on a solaris machine.
    Much thanks for your assistance.
    Anson

    hi There,
As far as i know, the pages can only be moved within the page group but not from one page group to another page group.

  • How can I copy a page in PageGroup1 to PageGroup2?

How can I copy a page in PageGroup1 to PageGroup2?
I want to use the copy feature as a simple configuration management process. Pages are developed in PageGroup1. When a page is ready for test, it is copied to PageGroup2. When the page is ready for production, it is copied to PageGroup3. My pages have portlet regions, not item types, so WEB/ORADAV does not appear to be a solution. Is there any programmatic solution? Supported solution? Unsupported solution? Patch? Help?
    thanks!

I know we used WebDAV to copy pages from one page group to another complete with their portlets, but most of our content was in items. The portlets on the page were all simple such as page portlets, HTML, etc. If you have or can easily get WebDAV enabled, it might be worth a shot. Here is the Metalink article referencing the approach if useful: http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=283842.1

Kindly help me to copy a page from one workspace to another workspace.

Or edit the exported page before import:
Set the right Application ID in this section (line 75 and following):
    begin
       -- SET APPLICATION ID
       wwv_flow.g_flow_id := 1; /* This is the Application ID */
       wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset := 0;
    null;
end;And optionally here (line 11 en following, just for your own administration):
    --application/set_environment
    prompt  APPLICATION 1 - MYAPP
    -- Application Export:
--   Application:     1And set the security group id to the right one here (line 40): (the number after => is the id)
wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=>12345678912345);If I want to know de security ID of my workspace, I export a page of this workspace and check the number in this line. Than I save it in a file for futer use.

How do I copy an existing group in Contacts to create a new group with the same contacts in it?

    Hi there,
Unfortunately the use case you describe hasn't been implemented in Firefox. It's not possible to move a tab group out to its own window at this point. Generally the tab groups feature hasn't been worked on much recently, not sure why.
As to TabMixPlus, that's a third-party add-on which Mozilla doesn't directly support. You can find support links from the add-on page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/tab-mix-plus/
    Hope this helps.

  • Duplicate Page Group

    Hello,
i want to duplicate my page group on the same repository, my oracle portal version is 10.1.4.
is this doable or not and if so please tell me how?

It is not possible, you will need to create a new page group.
If you have plsql knowledge then you can use api to create pages and itens, it would be like copying it.

  • Cross page group document migration

I am currently tasked with fixing a poorly designed portal (9.0.2.3). I have determined it would be easiest to create a new page group and templates, then move the content/files (no need for the applications they are too few) to the new page group. I am not aware of how to achieve this with our current version. Is it?
Side note: the files are nested in tabs. i.e. tabs within tabs within tabs within tabs within tabs - the main reason it needs to be rebuilt. (I have seen a bunch of junk out here in portals - people need to read some best practices before they start designing)

    Hi,
I think copying templates across page groups is not possible. Anyway you should post this question in the content management forum.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila

  • How do I move or copy a page from one pages doc to another?

I used to frequently move or copy a page from one multiple-page Pages document to another just but dragging and dropping the thumbnail.  Since I upgraded I can't do this anymore.  How can I do it now?

It never worked that way in Pages '09. You have to copy and paste the Thumbnails.
That no longer works in Pages 5. Sounds like you are not copying and pasting content because that certainly works. Read what VikingOS wrote and do precisely what he said.

  • How do I use Page Grouping to make my form/subforms flow across multiple pages?

I have every text box set to flow, but one page is not flowing into the next. For one thing, it stops entirely. For another, the content is interfering with the Master Page. I read than Page Grouping can alleviate this issue, but I have no clue how to enact it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks so much!

Please check the subform which is the container of all these text boxes. Please see this : https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/livecycle/yq8FauqHD3w
