Copy and paste armature in new .fla? (CS4)

I've got a rather elaborate bones armature built in one .fla file and I'd like to copy and paste it into another .fla. But I'll be snookered if I can find any way to copy the setup. Is this something that can be done at all??

What I did when I was trying to copy and paste a pose from a frame in an armature and paste it to another frame in the same document was:
Make sure the armature layer is NOT selected.
Left click on the pose frame you want to copy (if layer is selected "copy pose" will be grayed out) and click "Copy Pose".
This will copy the pose in the frame, but also select the layer.
Click OFF the armature layer so it is NOT selected.
Left click on the frame in the armature you want to paste pose to and click "Paste Pose".
I know you asked to paste in another document, but maybe if you play around with this process you can figure out how to do what you need.

Check the spot color options of that document.
It's in the swatches panel's menu.

I actually found under EDIT then Catalog settings / then metadata that the automatic write changes to XMP had been unchecked. Once I check this, it updated and connected all the keywords to the pictures. Now when I copy and paste the keywords show up as I can now detect them in Adobe bridge when before I couldn't see them even though they were in lightroom. . Thanks for your input.

If your using File>Place then photoshop cs2 creates what's known as Smart Objects, which photoshop 7 didn't have.
In photoshop cs2 you can rasterize the smart objects and that should make the Cut function available.
Select both placed layers, right click on the area to the right of the tumbnail and select Rasterize Layers.
If in photoshop cs2 you to Help>Photoshop Help and look under Layers>Smart Objects, that should give you a good overview of what smart objects are.

Can items from a list be copied and pasted into a new Pages Table?

In iWork Pages, I have a list of 50's & 60's recording artists and their songs, (which is about 40 pages long) from my '45 rpm record collection for my Jukebox.
Is there any way to copy and paste the artists' names, and their songs into a Pages Table, so that I can sort the artists' names into an alphabetical list?
If there is a way, it would save me a ton of work of typing each name into a Table one at a time.

Recently, I have had documents of lists that I had wanted to put into a Table afterwards, but there was no way that I could do it.... which brought me to my question to the Forum.....
I had made the artists' listing & songs of about 40 pages, about 7 years ago when I had a PC, and it was done in MS Word, and I haven't worked on it since then.
Being a veritable Newbie at the time, I had put the artists' name in one column, and the song title in another. When I had to insert a new artist and song, I would "Add Row Below" and then type the info in.
Little did I realize at the time that I had created a Table, without knowing it (I told you that I was a Newbie).
So when I started to work on those files this morning for the first time in a number of years, I wondered how could I put all the info from that Word document into a Table in Pages.
Then I could sort Ascending, instead of "Add Row Below" to squeeze the new name in when I wanted to add another artist.
Then I realized after posting the question on this Forum, that it ALREADY WAS in Table form.
I looked into the help section of Pages and found that I could sort the names in the Inspector Box in the Table Tab.
So, sorry to say I didn't discover a new technique of copying a list and then pasting the info into a new Table in one shot......

I cannot copy and paste to a new layer in PSCC

I am trying to use the magnetic lasso tool to outline my product and move that product to it's own layer so I can create a banner.
The lasso will not turn off, I have made sure it met the beginning of the outline, and I have clicked enter. I was instructed to copy the product and paste it and it will show up as a new layer. I am concerned that I have something set or not set that would cause the tools to stick, and that I am missing a step between copy and paste.
Can someone please help me or direct me to a tutorial that will cover these subjects? I have been trying to figure it out on my own for two days.

Copying and pasting Arabic text in InDesign CS4 ME

We have an arabic document in pdf and word formats and we have InDesign CS4 ME and we are trying to copy and paste text from the pdf/word document but the font isn't transferring, there is nothing only boxes. We have turned on the arabic keyboard and that didnt help either. Working on a mac.
Can anyone help us? What is the solution?

Well, why should it. Unless you are typing Arabic, that won't do anything at all. Copy-and-paste is not typing.
If copy-and-paste does not copy the font along so you get the pinky squares in InDesign, it only means that your default InDesign font does not support those characters. Select your text and then choose another font -- one you are sure of contains Arabic.
If you still get pink squares, it's more likely the text in the PDF is not encoded properly, and in that case no-one can't help you -- but it ought to work directly from Word.

Selecting objects in a layer to copy and paste into a new doc?

How can I select all objects in a layer and copy and paste the objects into a new document? We are having issues with the copy and paste method. Is this because it uses the operating systems clipboard?

it is usually not advice to use the selection for this kind of stuff, to work with ALL pageItems in a document use

now if you only want to copy items in a layer you can use either the index number (for instance, top layer index = 0) or the name of the layer (for instance "Layer1"), use this, you don't have to select them
var topLayerPageItems = app.activeDocument.layers[0].pageItems;
or using the layer name
var Layer1PageItems = app.activeDocument.layers['Layer1"].pageItems;

How do I copy and paste with my new laptop

Got my first apple product this week, and am having trouble transferring what I was used to on a PC to my macbook. I noticed that when I right click on my mac nothing seems to happen, and in the past this is what I used to copy and paste. Please help!

Does right clicking do anything, anywhere (it may be off)
Tap on your trackpad with 2 fingers instead of 1 for a 'right-click'

Why things go wacky when I copy and paste to a new document...

It seems when I go to copy graphics and paste into a completly new document, the text goes wacky. It retains the font but some instances of the font are enlarged and a line that may have had 2 words on it will now have 1 word on it. - I'm finding myself having to flatten (create outlines) of text just to copy and pate samples of the artwork elsewhere.
Any idea as to why this is happening? Any way to fix this in settings or preferences?

Possibly, the text from the original document is applied a [Basis Paragraph] paragraph style, and the style has been modified. You copy the text into a new document and it takes on the attributes of [Basis Paragraph] of new doc, however differs from the original document.

What do I have to do to copy then paste some text? I'm used to using cntl c then cntl v in windows machines.

Command is that key with the funny clover leaf looking thing on it.
Next to the space key.
On some keyboards the command key has an apple on it.
(Other Windows control key combinations often translate to the command key on a mac, e.g.,

I am copying and pasting into a new, Pages document (from the word processing menu), and I paste in text that is longer than one page, it doesn't continue onto the next page. I can't see the end. How do I get it to show everything I paste in?

I want to copy an extensive amount of text from a web page into a Pages word processing document, but it seems to chop it up into text boxes, some of which aren't long enough to show all of the lines of text. I can't get hold of a bottom edge of the boxes to drag them to make them longer. I tried several times starting over with a new, blank page (and I made sure to choose from the Word Processing part of the dropdown menu, since I read about a similar problem that said not to use the layout menu. It keeps doing the same thing. What do I have to do to get long text pasted to multiple pages, instead of it trying to be all on one page?
In the long run, what I want is to create this as an ePub book. Is there a better way to go about this?

Copying from web pages can include some weird formatting. Instead of Paste, use Paste and Match Style (Edit Menu).

Copying and pasting into a new size "canvas" in Aperture

Hi, I'm just trying out Aperture for the first time, and have a photo of 4 separate images. I'd like to end up with just 2 of them, together in the same file. Of course in Photoshop I'd copy & paste, increase the canvas size, or use crop, and voila. I'm quite puzzled as to how I could do this in Aperture, although maybe this is more a program like Lightroom and can't do this kind of thing.

This is not a feature of Aperture - nor Lightroom, if I recall correctly - both of which are apps for managing and post processing. That's a job for an editor like Photoshop.

Copy and paste titles wasn't supposed to automatically create a new title since the last update ?

I thought that one of the updates during this year for premiere includes the smart idea of using titles the same way that FCP does, copy and paste creates a new title so when you change the content it will not affect the original title.
but I just did copy and paste and it still using the same title asset so when I change one it affect it other one.
please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong.

Mini Bridge using copy and paste

I currently have CS5 extended installed on a desktop (xp 32 bit) and a laptop (Win7 64 bit) all files are up to date. When I start Photoshop create a new file, start mini bridge to select the file I want to copy and paste into my new file. I select the file,it opens in Photoshop I press these key strokes (control-A; control-C), move to the file to be copied to and press control-V. The file may or may not be copied. Even pressing control-V several times. You can press edit; paste and still nothing happens. But press edit; paste special; the file will be copied into the file. If the file is copied on the first try go back and select a different file and repeat the process. To get the file pasted into the document I; created a new layer; control-V; file is copied to a layer. If I create a new layer then turn off this layer press: control-V the file can also be copied to a layer. All of the above is when I start mini bridge to navigate to the files.
Now close Photoshop and Bridge. Restart Photoshop start Big Bridge (not mini bridge)! Create a new file; use Big Bridge to navigate to the file you want to copy into the new document, files opens into Photoshop enter the keyboard short cut or tool bar to select the file, copy the file. Now switch to the file to be pasted into press;control-V or select; file; paste; now everything's works. Try this process with different files to be pasted into the new document and it works flawless every time.
The above problem is present on both computers. My question is has anyone seen this or am I the only one? I stumbled on this a couple of days ago, sure I can work around this using Big Bridge.

It seems as though the window is losing focus. If after you Ctrl+C, switch over to the other document and then press the enter key twice or switch tools or click on the document window (with the move tool), then it seems to paste.
