Does anyone know if apple intends on having a copy and paste being added to the iphone or flash or Java at any point????
Man i'm starting to think i'm gonna go get a Blackberry soon!!!!!

Copy and paste Java script for password protecting a page?

I need to password protect one page which I want to call my LOGIN page on a site I'm making in Dreamweaver CS5.5. Unfortunately I know that the hosting company I'm using does not have the ability to allow me password a single directory on the server end to accomplish this (I know STRANGE) .... SO
I found some code online - java script that I can just copy and paste into the <head> section of my page. This might be a silly question but is this a 'safe' way to do this? (I don't need anything fancy and the people whom will be accessing this page will all have the SAME password, so I don't need a registration form or anything fancier...)
Any thoughts?

Ugg I totally knew you would all say that (because I already knew that would offer me the easiest solution), change hosts and now I'm embarrassed to say that YES I am paying for the hosting; BUT, I have to explain that I'm with this hosting company because way back when I started that site I needed something super user friendly because I was just learning. Now I have learned more and have started to use Dreamweaver. I just stayed with the same hosting and will use FTP to upload my new more updated site. In the company's defense even though they do offer a way to FTP a site up, their main objective (I think) is to have a really easy way for people to get a site up without knowing anything about code or css or anything; and they operate under the assumption that MOST of their customers will be using their super easy software and not use FTP. That is why I think they are limited to what they offer, at least that is my take on it. My more recent sites do not use this company as I have tried to learn and 'move up'.
Anyway I guess if I don't want to switch hosting I still have the same problem. Is it really that difficult to make something that has just one use ID and password which would be the same thing for every person? Might be a great learning experience for me?

use to have not problem doing this in non mx version of flash
n freehand.. but now i copy a symbol draw from Flash Pro 8 n paste
it in Freehand MX, its shape become "polygon-ed"

Copy and paste text and graphics between Flash and Illustrator

When copying text in Illustrator and pasting them to Flash, some text would become drawing objects and some remain text. A drawing object is not editable. If I import the AI file, then text remains text but the placement of graphics can be a little bit off sometimes.
It's just not possible to copy-and-paste text and graphics from Flash to Illustrator.
Is it just me? If not, when will Adobe have better integration between the 2?

Even though you can change your InDesign preferences for Clipboard Handling to allow formatted information to be pasted into InDesign from other programs, unfortunately Illustrator still won't allow you paste in text with formatting. This is due to how Illustrator and InDesign handle text differently. Even if you copy the text from Illustrator and paste it into a program like Word, which has a lot of different ways to handle formatted text, Illustrator just treats text differently than other Adobe applications.

Why can't I copy and paste from Illustrator to Flash?

I have this silly but frustrating problem. I've drawn a
series of objects in Illustrator and have copied and pasted many of
them into separate frames in Flash and all of a sudden they won't
paste. There are 3 objects I'm trying to paste onto each frame and
2 of them will paste, but 1 won't. I don't have anything locked and
I have no clipping masks in Illustrator. They will copy and paste
in Illustrator. I've tried copy and pasting them separately, I've
tried opening a new Flash document and pasting, I've tried
restarting my computer. Does this sound like just another freak
thing or does anyone have any ideas? Is there some keyboard
shortcut I might have bumped in Flash to change some hidden
setting...? But then why is it just 1 of the 3 objects that won't
paste?

I think I tried all the options and none worked. Even so, the clipboard options say "Clipboard on Quit". That sounds like it has nothing to do with between active programs.
I'm able to paste from CS5 TO CC though.

I think it must be some security restriction.
Set a policy for the applet or sign it:

Hi All !!
I want to create a functionality in which i can copy the contents from table (Created in Webdynpro Java) and paste them below in same table.
Scenario:
I've a table UI (Created in Webdynpro Java) in my screen. Table UI is displaying data from database.
Modifications, Insertion and deletion of data are allowed in the table control which will in turn reflect to Database.
Now i want users to copy and paste the rows in the Table UI and past it in same table
Is it possible or not ?

Adobe Flash Copy and Pasting Scenes

When you copy and paste a frame or scene in Adobe Flash, whatever changes you make to one frame or scene cascades onto the other (that you have duplicated).
Is there a way to prevent this? For example, if I add text to Scene 1, it will add the same text to Scene 2 too because I duplicated Scene 1 to make Scene 2.

that has nothing to do with scenes.
you can edit a movieclip instance without editing all instances of that movieclip by editing the instance on the movieclip's parent timeline. do NOT double click the movieclip instance and edit the symbol.

When playing flash player based browser games I cannot copy and paste HTML , had no problems doing this with explorer

Ebay - cannot copy and paste or type in 'decribe your item' box. Ebay support said it may be a problem with firefox and java and to contact you.

I had the same problem with IE9. Ebay said try Mozilla as browser so I downloaded that but same problem.
the 'Sell your item' page allows me to type in all relevant info except for the box where you have to provide a description. Using copy and paste, it can take several hours to paste into the box! Now with Mozilla the same is happening and I haven't yet been able to paste - or even type - anything after several hours wauting for the spinning thing to stop.

Copy and paste issue

While trying to create a simple copy and paste function ( from one open document / image into another open document in Photoshop CS5 ) like:

I have noticed that many times it doesn't paste the image and the next code throws unexpected results, but if I run it in debug mode and place a breakpoint just after calling the function ( like forcing a pause) then it runs fine.
Tried also with scripting listener code, both in flex and Java with the same result; this also happens with a File - place script.
I tried to insert a loop at the end of the process checking if the number of layers have increased after the paste call, and they actually increase but the image is not pasted
For some reason it seems that the clipboard is not working as expected when the process is fast ¿?. Have also tried to clear the clipboard and to purge with no luck.
I have had similar issues with Java scripting before but they were solved using the listener code instead, but it doesn't works now. Other users have the same problem but haven't found a solution.
I'm using CS5 and Extension Builder 1.5.0.2 with Flash Builder 4.5.1

Copy the text, click on the Desktop, CMD+B, and see if it shows up there. If not, then delete the com.apple.finder.plist from your /Library/Preferences folder, OPTION-click & hold the Finder's Dock icon, and select RELAUNCH. That should fix the issue.

Looks pretty cool. The only issue I see that needs some thought is...what if I decide, after copying something, that I want to copy something else. The demo shows you how to paste something after copying, but I'd need another option to pop up before the paste box...something like "Copy or Paste?", where I could tap a button and tell it that I want to throw away the copied text and add something new to the clipboard. Still, it's a nice little proof of concept and I really hope Apple adds copy/paste to iPhone VERY soon. It's one of those features that too useful to leave out.

while working on copy-and-paste of mathematical formulae for our ActivMath learning environment, a web-based one, I, of course, chopped to the problem that sandboxes (be them in Java applets, JNLP, JavaScript, Flash, ...) refuse the access to the clipboard.
That's partially survivable thanks to drag-and-drop...
I realized, however, that the class TransferHandler could be easily adapted to allow a secure copy and paste that would not touch, itself, the system-clipboard hence, should be allowed to sandboxes:
- a copy action can be requested using standard gestures. In a browser, this includes the browser's copy menu-item and related shortcut. In many native components, the shortcut is actually working. Such an action would then trigger trusted code and invoke the handler's createTransferable method and put it into the clipboard.
- similarly a paste action can be requested using standard gestures and invoke the importData method.
Can anyone tell me how insecure that would be ?

Cannot copy and paste descriptions in PDF Portfolio

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.1 on a Windows 7 laptop. Since a recent update I am unable to copy the description in a PDF Portfolio and paste it back. I used to be able to copy the description; delete the file; add an updated file and then paste the description back. Now I have to re-type the description. I cannot event copy and paste a description from another PDF portfolio. Can you advise why this is so and is there a workaround?

Adobe does not report the progress of bug reports to the public, nor can I comment on the timescale for any future updates or what they may contain. Priority is of course given to the current Acrobat X Family and recently-announced Acrobat XI Family.
Copy/paste between all the file details fields in PDF Portfolios is fully functional in Acrobat X Pro (which currently has a captive install of Flash Player) and in Acrobat XI Pro (which does not). I don't have an install of 9.5.1 to test your bug report against, but whatever is causing the issue in your case it's not an intentional change.

I believe that insufficient RAM may be the source of some of your problems. If you have a RAM of somewhere 4 to 8GB, you will experience smoother computing. 3GB doesn't seem right, so you might want to learn more by going to this site:

I don't know what know what's happening with your optical drive, but it seems you use your drive quite a bit. In that case, look into a lens cleaner for your machine. It's inexpensive, works quite well.
