  • How the heck to I copy and paste keyframes (scaling, rotation, etc.) in motion 5?

Trying to figure out how to copy keyframes from one object to another obejct in Motion 5, and I'm left screaming pulling my hair out.
It USED to be so easy... where is the paste attributes option here?
Or can I duplicate the object and relink it to another object? Going crazy here. Any help would be great.

There are several ways to copy and paste keyframes:
    1. Select the "source object" and go to the animated parameter in the Inspector (position for example).
    2. Click and drag the parameter name you want to copy to the destination layer in the layer list via drag and drop. The values (including keyframes) will be copied to the appropriate channels.
    OR
    1. Select the source object.
    2. For each channel that is animated (position, rotation, scale) go to the far right side of the parameter in the Inspector and select "Show in keyframe editor."
    3. Select all the keyframes you want (I use a simple click and drag to create a box an select all of the keyframes) and then copy (command-c).
    4. Now select the destination layer, position the playhead where you want the keyframes to start from and paste (command-v).

If you just need to match the animation of another layer (Position, Rotation, Scale) try using the Match Move behavior.

  • Copy and Paste Keyframes?

Is there no way to copy and paste keyframes from one track to another? I've also tried duplicating the track, but the keyframes don't duplicate. This would be a very useful, timesaving feature. Another would be the ability to directly edit a keyframe by selecting it and entering a value for the volume.

What version of Audition are you using?
I'm pretty sure that keyframes duplicate when you duplicate a track in Audition CC
I certainly agree that directly entering a value for a keyframe would be MOST useful - here's hopeing.....

  • Copying and Pasting keyframes

Right, okay. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to copy and paste a keyframe in the same property in the timeline. I had assumed that as in all other adobe programs, you would be able to option (alt) click and drag, duplicating the selected keyframe. But apparently this is not the case? I've worked around it by sliding around my keyframes so I can create a new one with the same properties, but there must be a better way to do this. I must be missing something.
    Help?

Select the keyframe, use the Edit menu Copy command (or keyboard shortcut), go to the desired point in time, and paste the keyframe using the menu or keyboard command.

  • Copy and Pasting Keyframes

    Hi,
I have made a Color Corrector 3-way Filter on a clip of video. I have set keyframes on all the parameters to start at the same time and end two seconds later. I now want to move all of the keyframes to start at a new time and end two seconds later. How do I cut all the keyframes and paste them at the new start point? Is that possible? Currently simply cutting and pasting doesn't work, as it pastes the filter (so now it is applied twice).

You can paste attributes to a clip with Option + V I think. Have you toggled the keyframe editor on and played with that? It's Option + T. Then second click on the new area and choose the keyframes you want to edit.

  • How do I copy and paste multiple keyframes?

I've used previous versions of Final Cut in the past, but primarily have done my editing with Adobe Premiere.  One of the companies I am freelancing for only has Final Cut X on their machines.  I'm a bit confused about keyframes.  Keyframing in the inspector seems severely limited.  I could use some help.
Basic example:  Say I want to zoom and pan into an image... then have it sit there for 5 seconds... then zoom and pan back to its original location.  I can't figure out how to do this at all with Final Cut X.
In Premiere I would accomplish this extremely easily.
#1 I'd set my playhead at the location I'd like START my zoom IN/pans and set all my necessary keyframes.
#2  Then i move my playhead to where I'd like to END my zoom IN/pans, change all my parameters and this sets my necessary keyframes.
#3  I move my playhead further to where I'd like to START my zoom OUT/pans to where it originally was... and set all my necessary keyframes
#4 I move my playhead to where I'd like END my zoom OUT/pans to where it originally was... and simply copy and paste my keyframes from step 1...
The reason why I copy and paste my keyframes from step 1 is because often my parameters are very specific.  I'm not necessary zoomed in 100% at the beginning with my position set exactly where it needs to be.  Say, for instance, I'm working with an image that is zoomed at 75% and perfectly positioned at some random position somewhere in my frame... without the ability to cut and paste keyframes, I'd have to go back to keyframe 1 and write down all the parameters... then go to keyframe 4 and re-enter them.  Massive pain in the butt.
How is this properly accomplished in Final Cut X?  I can't even see my keyframes on the timeline... every tutorial I've found just says "set keyframe 1 and keyframe 2 in the inspector" and that's incredibly limiting.

That is kind of a bummer, really.  Maybe I'll need to adjust my workflow, but it seems like it's a MASSIVE drawback of Final Cut X.
    For example:
Say I have an image on the screen at with Postion X: 97.3px and Position Y:  -69.3px  with the zoom set to 136.3%... (keyframe 1)
And say I want to move that image across the screen to Postion X:  32.5px and Position Y: -23.5px with a zoom set to 85.3% ... (keyframe 2)
Then say I want to let it stay in that position for 10 seconds ... after 10 seconds I'll set more keyframes by clicking the appropriate keyframe buttons and the settings will once again be set for Postion X:  32.5px and Position Y: -23.5px with a zoom set to 85.3% ... (keyframe 3)
Now say I want it to go back to the original position and zoom.   In premiere I'd just highlight all my keyframes from Keyframe 1 and paste at the new location of the playhead... with Final Cut X, i'll need to go back to Keyframe 1 and literally write down on a piece of paper:  97.3, -69.3, 136.3% ... then go back to Keyframe 4 and type them all out.   This is just a simple example, though.   The more individual parameters I'm setting at specific points... the bigger pain this will be.   Lame.
Even with the link you shared... it appears to be completely amature compared to the keyframe editing capabilities of Premiere Pro.  In searching a bit on google to confirm the lack of features, I found someone else complaining:
"You cannot expand any parameter that has more than one attribute (like crop or scale or position) - making it useless.
You cannot add bezier handles to keyframes
You cannot copy and paste keyframes
When you copy and paste attributes, you have no choices as to how they will be pasted, etc... it is dismal.
All in all, it is a step backwards from FCP"
Personally, I'm a bit surprised... the more I learn about Final Cut X, the more I am starting to like it.  I know a lot of professionals hated it when it initially came out, but I chaulked it up to unfamiliarity with the new software.   For me, this keyframing thing is by far the biggest drawback I've found to yet.

  • Copy and Pasting Motion? Please help!

Im quite new to flash. It's really, really annoying me at the minute.
My situation: I've got 7 frames of animated motion that is exactly the way i want it. I want these 7 frames of motion to loop so it gets to around 300 frames. So rather than doing every frame manually (which takes ages) i went to copy and paste motion.
So i highlight my 7 frames and click 'copy motion'. Then I try pasting them and i get the error mesage (in the attached picture) that nothing is selected. But i've clicked on the 8th frame, the place were i want the motion to begin, but still it says this error message.
So then i insert a new frame on the 8th frame space and paste the motion over the top of the 8th frame, but it misses the first 2 frames of animation (therefore messing eveything up) out and the motion is also wrong on top of that!
Im desperate here, all i want to do is something simple and i dont know how.

Yeah i want to animate my keyframes.
I know i can copy and past the keyframes, but thats not what i want because if i do that my character does not progress forward (or to the right of the screen in this instance). I want to copy and paste the motion so he goes forward  (to the right of the screen).
I have the character and i want him to walk from left to right across the screen whilst moving his, arms, legs and head etc (the motion) in a certain way.
Also i had already converted my layers to symbols. I will attach another picture to show you my character.

  • Is there a way to copy and paste the same changes in keyframes along the timeline?

    Hi,
I was doing an effect (changing the parameters in keyframe editor) and I wanted to do the same effect in specific moments on the timeline. Is it possible to copy and paste the same effect on the keyframe editor?
    Thanks

Following on from GFXZen, as well as repeating a series of keyframes as a regular pattern, if you need to move some of the repeats a little (to match moments in a soundtrack), use the Generate Keyframes command. That turns the extrapolated curves into editable and moveable keyframes.
There's more on information on keyframe extrapolation and generating keyframes at the bottom of this page from the Motion help system.
Check out the help information on the Transform Keyframes tool - you can use this to transform the keyframes of many parameters at the same time. Similar to using the option key when dragging keyframes in Adobe After Effects.

  • Copy and Paste the Motion

I would like to know how to Copy and Paste the Motion Parameters (i.e. scale) settings from one clip to another.

Copy your clip, select the other clip, right-click (or control-click), choose "Paste Attributes", and check "Basic Motion".

  • PSD-layered - copy and paste properties to layers in Motion?

    Hi,
I imported a layered photoshop file into Motion.
I applied certain properties to one layer (with key frames, such as rotate, scale, shadow...) and I want to know if there is a way to copy those properties and paste them onto the other layers so I can then go in and do certain tweaks, without having to do each layer from scratch...
(This is something that you can do in FinalCut, copy and past attributes, but I can't seem to find that option in Motion.)
    Thanks

you can do this by selecting the layers with the properties you want, then in the inspector, drag and drop the parameters onto the the layer you want them applied to.

  • On the Firefox drop down menu for Firefox 4, the tab for cut, copy and paste is not highlighted. Is there another way for me to include this on the Firefox start page?

I have Firefox 4. In the Firefox drop down menu, there is an option to cut, copy and paste but it is not highlighted. Please tell me how to highlight this link. Or is there a way to have a cut copy and paste tab?

Those links in the Edit menu are only highlighted if there is something to do:<br />
Paste should be enabled if the clipboard has data placed on it by a previous Copy or Cut and you have set focus on a text area or field that allows to paste that data.
Copy works if some text is selected.

  • In iphoto 11 the copy and past buttons to the adjustment tab are gone

In iphoto 11 the copy and past buttons to the adjustment tab are gone. I thought this was a cool feature. They still work when you click alt-c or alt-v. Did anyone notice this?

I've noticed too and I don't like it! I tried to alt-c like you said and when I do that, it just takes me to the crop. It won't allow me to copy the adjustments! Is there any way around this??

  • Xcelsius Engage 2008 - copy and paste in Tabs/Canvases

I am trying to copy and paste grouped or un-grouped components from one tab into another tab/canvas. The grouped components get pasted into the new tab/canvas, but are also duplicated in the original tab/canvas. When I delete the duplicated components from the original tab/canvas, they get deleted from the new tab/canvas. Does anyone know how to effectively copy and paste from one canvas to another?

    Hi Susan,
As far as I remember, I too got this issue sometime back and was addressed by installing the latest service pack/fix pack; the version 5.1.1.0. Try getting the latest one from the site and see if it fixes your issue.
    Good Luck!!!

  • Is copying and pasting multiple keyframes disabled?

I haven't used after effects for a year or so, but I am 100% positive that I was able to copy multiple keyframes or duplicate them just by holding down the alt key and dragging, or by hitting cmd+c and cmd+v. I'm trying to do that now but it copies the actual layers, not the keyframes and I found a plugin here http://aescripts.com/paste-multiple-keyframes/ that lets you copy and paste multiple keyframes .. I really don't understand why adobe would disable such a helpful feature, could anyone let me know if they have the same problem or am I doing something wrong? I'm desperate!
    Thank you

    > I am 100% positive that I was able to copy multiple keyframes or duplicate them just by holding down the alt key and dragging
That has never been a feature of After Effects.
    > hitting cmd+c and cmd+v
I just tried copying and pasting multiple keyframes using these commands, and it worked fine for me.
    > I really don't understand why adobe would disable such a helpful feature,
We changed nothing in this area.

  • Copy and Paste Vignette?

Quick question - is it possible to copy and paste a vignette?
    Doug_

    Yes it is.
However, its the whole secondary that comes with it. You have a .scc storage bin associated with the secondaries room where you can save corrections. However, it saves and pastes the entire secondary correction and will overwrite any current settings. This is also the only way to copy keyframed corrections forward.
A work around might be to create a user shape vignette and simply create clones of it and re-attach it to the various secondary tabs as you desire.
