Copy and Paste WLAN password (PSK-key) on E7-00

It took quite long to find out how the 128 character password of my private WLAN can be copied and pasted in the PSK-key field. Now I found the (not documented) solution and would like to share it with other users.
Simply press and hold the Shift key (in any text window) and you'll see the "Paste" button on the screen.
To copy the password to the clipboard you can transfer the password (by email, sms or in a text file) on your E7-00. Then mark the password using your keyboard (Shift + arrow key), press and hold the Shift key and you'll see the "Copy" button.
I hope that Google finds this instruction!

O_O - that´s one for RTFM ;-) No, obviously I haven´t. As I said elsewhere, I had it for just a couple of weeks and I didn´t yet have too much time to study the manual in all detail. Sorry ´bout that!

OK, now I have downloaded the manual in German as pdf. Now I only need to install the Adobe Reader, then I can read it on the mobile itself.
I guess that with that Pencil Key, I could also copy contact data from any document I have on the phone to my contact list?

  • I am unable to copy and paste my password onto the Hotmail page

I live in China and their censors watch everything I do on the net. Before I had no problem when I typed in my password, which would give them access to my Hotmail. But I opened a document on my laptop and put in all new passwords for everything. It worked for a while, but Hotmail seems to have changed their page. Now when I try to copy and paste my password on the Hotmail page, nothing happens. The dropdown box has the paste on it, but it is not highlighted, so I can't just paste it in the password box. I've had to use IE which works, but every time I perform an action on a page, the page jumps as if they are taking a snapshot of what I'm doing and I really don't like it. Any suggestions?

Did you try to use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+V or Ctrl + Insert) ?

  • Password copy and paste

    Hi,
one can't copy and paste the password to sign on to the Apple services on their websites anymore.
I usually use passwords in the length somewhere between 30 and 60 characters that are automagically generated and then copy&pasted to the password field on a website.
When copy and pasting the password, it's copied to the clipboard for ten seconds, and then the clipboard is emptied by the password application again, so that the password is not available until i copy something new to the clipboard.
As I can't copy and paste my passwords anymore, I decided to switch back to a six char password, which is easier to type and memorize.
    What an improvement of security!
    Thanks.

You saved it after setting the Password? :
Inspector > Document > Document > Require Password to Open
I just tested it and it shows up ijn The Finder with a padlock on the file icon and does require a password to open.

  • How to disable copy and paste in a field and allowing user to key in the data in that field...

    Hi all,
I need your help on the below scenario.
I have to stop user to copy and paste the data into the field. But allowing user to enter the data in that field.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Thiru.

    Hi thiru
It sounds like you want a to write a PJC component to extend a forms text item that will capture and eliminate the key strokes and mouse actions used to copy and past thus preventing a user from performing this action.  There are many examples on the interent of how this can be written e.g. the Oracle Forms PJCs/Java Beans web site.   You will need to have jdeveloper to write thise bit of code.  Oracle forms also has a tutorial on how to plug the JAR file you generate into your for sessions.

  • Copy and paste Java script for password protecting a page?

I need to password protect one page which I want to call my LOGIN page on a site I'm making in Dreamweaver CS5.5.  Unfortunately I know that the hosting company I'm using does not have the ability to allow me password a single directory on the server end to accomplish this (I know STRANGE)   .... SO
I found some code online - java script that I can just copy and paste into the <head> section of my page.  This might be a silly question but is this a 'safe' way to do this?    (I don't need anything fancy and the people whom will be accessing this page will all have the SAME password, so I don't need a registration form or anything fancier...)
    Any thoughts?

Ugg I totally knew you would all say that (because I already knew that would offer me the easiest solution), change hosts and now I'm embarrassed to say that YES I am paying for the hosting; BUT, I have to explain that I'm with this hosting company because way back when I started that site I needed something super user friendly because I was just learning.  Now I have learned more and have started to use Dreamweaver.  I just stayed with the same hosting and will use FTP to upload my new more updated site.  In the company's defense even though they do offer a way to FTP a site up, their main objective (I think) is to have a really easy way for people to get a site up without knowing anything about code or css or anything; and they operate under the assumption that MOST of their customers will be using their super easy software and not use FTP.  That is why I think they are limited to what they offer, at least that is my take on it.  My more recent sites do not use this company as I have tried to learn and 'move up'.
Anyway I guess if I don't want to switch hosting I still have the same problem.  Is it really that difficult to make something that has just one use ID and password which would be the same thing for every person?  Might be a great learning experience for me?
Yep it might be time for me to switch hosting....  sigh.  What to do.....

  • Copy and paste WiFi WPA key in Lucid

How can I copy and paste a 63 character WiFi WPA key in the LG Lucid phone?  The key is totally random and the chances of typing it correctly are slim at best.  The WPA  standard allows up to 63 character for a key.  I would like to put a file on the SD card via usb and then somehow paste the key into the correct WiFi setup field.  Seems to be a pretty basic capability ...
    Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Polaris Office, but perhaps it doesn't read .txt files. If it reads .doc files (MS Word documents), you could just put the key into that kind of file and put it on the SD card for Polaris to open.
The trick with copying and pasting on Android phones is, as Tidbits said, to tap and hold the text. That might bring up a menu offering the option to select a word or select all, and then if you choose Select Word a rather goofy and awkward-looking pair of pointers that you drag to move the beginning and end of the selection. Or it might bring up the pair of pointers directly, and tapping on them will give you an option to select word or all. In any case, once you've got the text selected with the pointers, it will then offer options to copy or cut the text. Frankly, with my clumsy fingers it's taken me several months to develop any skill at this at all.
Of course, in this case choosing Select All would be simplest, if all there is in the file is the WPA key.
You may only have to do this once. On my Samsung Stratosphere, once I had logged onto my home WiFi one time the procedure has been automatic ever since, and the connection occurs seamlessly and quickly.
    Good luck!

  • HT5569 Is there a way to store a wi-fi password on an iPad and then copy and paste it into the proper space when you want to connect to your password protected network?  (the password is 31 random characters)

Is there a way to store a wi-fi password on an ipad and then copy and paste it into the proper space when you want to connect to your password proctected newwor?  (the password is 31 random characters)

Yes, if both the Mac and iPad are setup using the same iCloud account, then any notes you enter on the Mac will be synced across to the iPad almost instantly.
Same occurs with the 1Password app I mentioned. If you have both the Mac and iPad versions of it, and setup either iCloud or Dropbox syncing, any passwords entered on the Mac will be synced to the app running on the iPad ready for copying and pasting. This would be the most secure method, but not the cheapest.

  • Command key not working for copy and paste

Hi everyone!Copy and paste doesn't work when I use the command key on my new macbook pro.Any ideas how to fix this?If I use the toolbar it works fine

Are you sure you are using Command+C and Command+V.
Works fine on my MBP Lion 10.7.2 in all applications.
You could also try using the Space bar and the Shift and Enter/Return keys when asking a question.

  • Two-key copy and paste on E51?

I want to be able to cut and paste texts in all screen, in all applications, not only Notes, Contacts, but also in web browser, etc.
Is there any third-party software for this? E.g. you press *1 to copy and *2 to paste, or similar?

    Hi princess,
Check the Edit menu, where you'll find Cut, Copy and Paste, as well as variations of Paste in some applications. Where there is a keystroke combination to do the same thing, you will find it listed in the menu beside the menu command, Here's my Edit menu in Pages:
Yours will be missing the starred key stroke set by Paste and Match Style. This is a custom one, taking advantage of OS X permitting the creating of keystroke combinations for top level menu items without one assigned.
One handy set to memorize is the Z X C V series. With the command key, these are Oops!, Cut, Copy and Paste.
If you've used keyboard shortcuts in Windows, you will find that many of the Mac ones are the same, but use the command key where MS uses the control (ctrl) key.
    Regards,
    Barry
PS: A minor rewording on Niels instructions for using the modifier keys. When I gave instructions essentially the same as his to my grade four and five students, I found many of them stabbed at the two (or more) keys, trying to press both at exactly the same time, an almost impossible task. When I revised the instructions to those below, most of the errors disappeared.
command-C: This means 'press and hold the command key, tap and release the C key, then release the command key.
shift-command-A: Press and hold the shift and command keys, tap and release the A key, then release the two modifier keys.
In general: Press the modifier keys (shift, command, option, control—whichever is called for—in any order, holding it/them down, then press/tap the action key (usually a letter), then release the action key, then release the modifier keys.

  • Copy and past key frames?

I have 2 sequence that are the same.
Is it possible to copy and past the video filters from one clip in one sequence to same clip in the other sequence? And have the key frames in the correct place?
I’m trying to do this but its not staying in sync with the sequence what I mean is the key frames are in the wrong place. I’m opening the clip in one sequence going to the filter tab coping the filter with the key frames and then when I past in to the second sequence the key frames are in the wrong place.

    For Kevan,
I only was getting confused by you saying:
...you click on clip/control-c/select 'paste attributes'....
    - 'click on clip', I do understand
    - 'Control-C' does nothing on my keyboard (standard layout).
So I supposed you meant 'Control-Click' which brings up a pop-up menu (or what's the good name for that) which gives me a variety of options ('open in viewer', 'item properties', 'send to...', etc) including 'paste attributes'. And because that's the next thing you advised:
    - Select 'paste attribute'...
...I assumed you meant to say 'Control Click' (Or Right click on a 2- or 3-button mouse.)
edit: This pop-up, I think, is called 'contextual menu', not 'pop-up'
So If on your setup Control-C does the same as Control Click, then you've probably set up your keyboard for that. If this is the only 'problem' you have I wouldn't even consider trashing prefs...

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
[[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
[[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
volume controls issues are windows, not firefox.

How do I change the dimension constraint key after I copy and paste or after the dimension is created? The reason is that the dimension I copy and paste has constraints named as "COPY_OF_RP_MERCHANT_UK" (I would like to be remove the COPY_OF)

Right-click on the dimension and select Editor. In the editor, click on the Edit menu and select Table Properties. Click on the constraints tab and rename the constraints.
