Copy Bridge Preferences to another computer

In the past, when administering all our work computers, I was able to copy the Adobe Bridge plist file to additional computers (or user accounts on a single computer) once I had one station set up the way I wanted, so that all our computers were set up with the same settings. This doesn't appear to be working in Bridge CC. For instance, if I change the Color Theme in the General preference screen and then copy the plist file to another computer it doesn't "take" on the second computer. I have checked to make sure I have read/write access to the plist file after copying it.  Am I missing something?

Same problem here. Did you resolve this issue?

I just want to be able to get all of my music that I bought on itunes onto my computer. Right now the money ive spent is just gone and I have no music to show for it.

Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

  • How to copy tags preferences to another mac

Hi I have spent some time setting up my preferences for "Tags" in Mavericks on a MacBook.
Does anyone know a way I can copy this setup to another Mac without having to key in all the Tag names and assign Colours again?
    Thanks in advance

Tags are metadata. So, if you copy a tagged file to another computer through a media "metadata aware", those informations are transferred transparently. Media is an abstraction for disk, network or whatever is used as a mean of transport.
You can visualize tags associated to a file via the command line with the xattr command
    xattr -p com.apple.metadata:_kMDItemUserTags MyTaggedFile | xxd -r -p | plutil -convert xml1 - -o -
Change MyTaggedFile with a filename you tagged to display the result.
Or copy the tags assigned to file1 to a second file, file2
    xattr -wx com.apple.metadata:_kMDItemUserTags "$(xattr -px com.apple.metadata:_kMDItemUserTags file1)" file2;xattr -wx com.apple.FinderInfo "$(xattr -px com.apple.FinderInfo file1)" file2
    More on this here.

  • Can I copy Bridge workspace preferences to another computer?

I purchased CS6 for another machine.  I've mostly got the workspace in Bridge to look like my other machine's preferred workspace.
What I want to do, and have not found the answer, is to show the "favorites" and "folders" tabs in the left pane, then further down in that same pane, show the "filter, collections and export" tabs.
The new machine shows these tabs near the top, but I don't know how to move those tabs downward.
Here's what I am trying to do:
    Thanks much.
    Al

What I want to do, and have not found the answer, is to show the "favorites" and "folders" tabs in the left pane, then further down in that same pane, show the "filter, collections and export" tabs.
It is a bit tricky but once tried easy enough. place your cursor on the tab of a panel and hold click while dragging. A blue surrounding line appears. Now point to the wished location (between two existing rows in a column or between two columns) until a blue appears. Then let the panel drop. When you drag it next to another tab a blue surrounding line appears meaning you can dock this panel as a tab next to the existing. You have a max of 3 columns, don't know if there is a max to rows but your screen and visibility is the limit.

  • How do I copy a project to another computer?

A project in FCPX has grown from its original scope. I've now got four different Events on an old iMac (maxed out with 4GB). I want to move the project to another Mac. I've copied over all of the Event folders as well as the Project folder. (Total: about 100GB)
The problem is that the timeline tells me I'm missing clips, but they were all consolidated into the Event folders before copying them to the second Mac. Trying to reconnect each clip is not working (because it's like cutting the whole thing again). Many of the edits used "Favorites," excluded "Rejected" clips, had audio corrections, transitions, connected storylines, etc.
Is there a way to save my edits when moving this project? (Re-editing the whole project is almost impossible to consider.)
    Thank you.
(I'm running 10.6.8 on the old computer and 10.8.2 on the new one. Both are running FCPX 10.0.6.)

Sorry for the incovenience. It's fine. User error. [head slap]

  • Migrating CS4 preferences to another computer

How can I copy my CS4 preferences to an instance of CS4 running on another PC?
    Thx

But be aware that, if there are screen size differences, this can invoke the "off screen dialog syndrome".
Because also panel positions are recorded in the settings, they can end up in a different place.

  • Copy Rented movie to another computer

I rented a movie on one computer with Itunes, but that computer was too slow. I tried copying the movie to a faster computer, but it will not let me play the movie. Is there any way to get this to work?

Sync it to an iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, and then use the Transfer Purchases option in iTunes
The Sync and Transfer Purchases commands don't work with rented movies, Niel. There's a different procedure for moving rented movies between devices.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1390
From what I've read it won't work to move a rented movie from one computer to another. Unless things have changed recently, the movie can only be moved to one of the player devices you mentioned and then back to the computer on which the movie was originally rented.
    Regards.

  • Certain files contain the current bookmarks and bookmarks toolbar and and could be copied into firefox on another computer. I found these files but they only have my old bookmarks, not my current ones.

In the past, there were certain files in the "Local Settings" and "Application Data" folders that contain my current Bookmarks and current Bookmarks Toolbar contents. I have been able to copy these files to a jumpdrive then use it to bring my CURRENT bookmarks and boomarks toolbar to Firefox on a different computer. When I attempt to do the same now, I get my bookmarks from 2 years ago and nothing at all on my bookmarks toolbar. I have successfully done this as recently as this past February. What happened to them and why can I not do this anymore?
I NEED to have these bookmarks and bookmarks toolbar on my other computers. I do NOT want them uploaded to YOUR servers to be able to do this. The whole reason I use Firefox is to avoid using M$ for the very same reason you are now trying to force on your faithful users. This has been a huge factor for most of us to use Firefox, to get away from IE.

If you have access to Firefox on that computer then export the bookmarks to an HTML file.<br />
Otherwise you need the JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder and restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON backup.<br />
Note that this will replace all current bookmarks, so in order to keep these you need to export them to an HTML file and reimport that file after you have restored the JSON backup.

  • Sync/Copy IE bookmarks to another computer

    Hi,
I have iTunes installed at home and have hundreds of IE bookmarks. These are sync'd to my iPhone and I see them when using Safari.
It would be useful to have these available on my work PC, so I installed iTunes at work. I understood iTunes sync'd bookmarks automatically between computers by default? Is this right?
Is it possible to sync or copy my bookmarks from my iPhone to work PC?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Yorkie66
You could do it that way to sync the bookmarks. You could also use iCloud to do all the syncing for you without having to plug in your iPhone to sync. Check out the articles below for more information on how to get your bookmarks to your work computer.

  • Copy book layout to another computer

    hi all
I created a book layout on my G3. Is there a way to transfer it to my powerbook.

    scotts1:
You'll have to transfer the entire iPhoto Library folder to the other computer and open it as a library there. You might be able to reduce the size of the library to just those photos in the book and then the library folder would be reasonably small to facilitate an easy transfer. What you might try is to first make a backup copy of your iPhoto Library folder, rename it and open it with iPhoto. If you assembled the photos in an album before making the book it will be much easier. Assign a unique keyword to each photo in the book. The do a search for all photos which are not that keyword and delete them. That should reduce the library size considerably. If you didn't use an album beforehand you'll have to locate each photo in the library and give it the keyword.

  • Copy flashplayer download to another computer

We are in a remote area with a very slow internet connection and cannot install flashplayer there, as the installation fails halfway through the process.  How can we download flashplayer onto a laptop in an area with a faster connection and then copy and install the program on the computer in the remote area?

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Copy it to a USB Flash Drive and move it to the other computer.

  • How do I move my Firefox bookmarks to another copy of Firefox on another computer, and how do I keep from overwriting the previous bookmarks on the "new" computer's Firefox?

My husband upgraded his iMac this year, and I'm getting his "old" one. I just want to know, first, how to transfer my bookmarks, and second, how to transfer them to his Firefox without overwriting his current bookmarks. And how do I open "my" Firefox, when the Firefox icon is connected to his information? Thanks!

Hi Guys, you make this sound easy. I have a 2005 Toshiba with about 6GB of music I loaded from CDs on it. It is an old PC and I want to retrieve the music before it crashes then deauthorize it.
I have a iMac desktop and want to import the 6GB to it.
I read the above and tried to copy the file but at 6GB it is bigger than a memory stick or CD and I can't get sharing to work.
My Imac can see the Toshiba in the IMPORT window....but won't allow me to import it.
Would it work if I got a cable with USB on each end and joined the 2 computers?
I also have iTunes Sharing and can see and play the Toshiba files on the Mac WHILE they are connected.......BUT I want to cut the connection and have the Toshiba songs independant on the Mac, then close down the PC.
Does anyone have a simple way. It is APPLE! I must be missing a simple solution here somewhere.
    Thank you for your time.

  • I created a slide show on work computer. Placed photos and movies in Media Browser. Want to use another computer (laptop) to give presentation. Do I need to copy media browser to laptop or are pictures and movies embedded in slide show and can go anywhere

I created a slide show on my work computer and placed many photos and movies in my work computer's Media Browser. Want to use another computer (laptop) to give the presentation and therefore change location of slide show. Do I need to copy the media browser to the laptop or once the pictures and movies are embedded in the original slide show, can I take it anywhere and not worry about the media browser?
I also want to optimize a movie for Keynote, so it's not too large a file. Please help.

Graphic, sound and video files are copied into the Keynote file, but make sure Keynote > Preferences - include sound and movies check box is ticked.
If you have added additional fonts they will need be changed to reflect what is on the destination machine.
If the other machine has a different Keynote version, ensure the same transitions and effects are available.

  • How do I copy Camera RAW defaults to another computer?

I use Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Camera RAW to process RAW files (D700).  I have ACR preferences set to make the defaults ASA specific, which means I have 41 defaults for ACR.  I have a folder of images shot with the D700 that includes one image for each ASA the camera can select when auto ASA is activated in the D700, that's where I get 41 ASA values.  I use the images in this folder to set a default for each ASA value and then select one at a time in Camera RAW and click to set a new default for ACR (Adobe Camera RAW).  These defaults are saved in some location on the computer, but I don't know where.  I would like to copy these saved defaults to another computer that is also running Photoshop CS6.  Does anyone know where the defaults are located, or is there a better way to accomplish this task?

If I understand what you said, I think this will only save RAW Defaults for that specific image conditions.  I have the RAW converter set to make it specific to image ASA and for the D700 it can set 41 different ASA values for the image.  I have 41 Camera RAW Defaults for the D700 and would like to transfer all to the second computer, that's the reason I am looking for options to accomplish this task.
I have a folder with 41 D700 NEF files with each having a different ASA value.  I select this folder of images in Camera RAW, adjust each image to the defaults I want - the main difference is noise settings.  When I have the settings I want, I click the Done button.  I then open the images again in Camera RAW, select one at a time and select the "Save New Camera Raw Defaults".  Now when I open new NEF files for the D700 it will automatically apply the Default I want based on the image ASA.
I currently copy the folder with the 41 images that was saved with the defaults I want and open them one at a time and save a new default on the second computer.  If I copy the "Camera RAW" folder it should give me all the same defaults, custom camera profiles, custom curver, settings, etc.
I have not tried this yet, but if it works it will save a lot of time keeping the two computers in sync relative to these parameters.

  • How do I uninstall Adobe Bridge CC on one computer so that it can be installed on another computer?

How do I uninstall Adobe Bridge CC on one computer so that it can be installed on a new computer?

You can install CC on two computers and use them both (even different OS if needed)
You can also sign out with your Adobe Creative Cloud application on one computer and log in on another computer, the max of active systems is 2 but it should be possible to have them on multiple systems with signing in and out.
