Copy Classification

Hi.
I have created a custom material class in reference to class type '001'. This class contains four characteristics.
I have created material view "Classification" inserting my material class and i have indicated values in specific characteristics.
Now I create a process order an in controlling classification I can see the specific classification for class type '013' and class name SAP_KKR_CLASS.
In this class a characteristic is the material code.
I would copy in class SAP_KKR_CLASS some characteristics in reference to material class.
Can somebody help me???

Please follow the steps below :

Procedure:
1. Enter a basis data source that you want to extend.
2. Select the client, class type, and object table from which you want
to copy classification data.
3. Select the data source to which you want to assign characteristics,
then choose Characteristics.
4. Choose New entries and enter the characteristics you want to assign.
5. If you want to define a sequence for the characteristics, enter position numbers.
4. Statuses are assigned automatically: N = New: this status appears before a new data source has been created.
R = Ready: the status is converted to this status after generation. If you change a characteristic, reset the status to N before generation.
Choose Data source to generate the data source. This also generates the characteristic data sources for characteristics of data type CHAR.
An internal key starting with "1CL_..." is assigned as a data sourcename.

PR Release Strategy- transport of charact/class/ values using ALE

Does anyone have the information relative to ALE set up for release strategy-
I am using transactions BD91 for characteristics; BD 92 for Class and BD 93 for the actual values into release strategy.
I need the information as to what needs to be set up in Development client and receiving clients ( Q and Prod) for these transactions i.e., RFC destinations, define ports, Identify Message types & setup partner profile configurations etc

Multiple characteristics

Hi, we are presently trying to implement vendor classification in R/3 with multiple characteristic per class. This works nicely in R/3 however the resultant BW datasource that is generated only assumes the first of the multiple characteristics and ignores the rest. How can we include all the characteristics in the datasource?

This is what I dug out of the system
Maintain Data Sources for Classification Data
    In addition to the data sources from the BW conten referred to here as basis data sources, further data sources can be created.
    In this IMG activity, you assign the characteristics that you want to use as attributes in the Business Information Warehouse to the new data source.
Activities
1. Enter a basis data source that you want to extend.
2. Select the client, class type, and object table from which you want to copy classification data.
3. Select the data source to which you want to assign characteristics, then choose Characteristics.
4. Choose New entries and enter the characteristics you want to assign.
5. If you want to define a sequence for the characteristics, enter position numbers.
Statuses are assigned automatically:
    N = New: this status appears
        before a new data source has been created.
    R = Ready: the status is converted to this status
        after generation. If you change a characteristic,
        reset the status to N before generation.
Choose Data source to generate the data source. This also generates the characteristic data sources for characteristics of data type CHAR.

    Further Notes
o   The possible entries button only displays data for the client you are logged on to.
o   InfoSources in BW-System from AdminWorkbench must be created for the DataSources generated and assinged to the DataSources.

PO release strategy - release code

Hi Experts,
I have completed the release strategy and transported to production.
However noticed that the release codes that has been configured earlier wasn't in the production.
Is there a way to update the release codes in the production besides using SPRO (no authorisation for maintaining - only display) like using CL24N to update the characteristics?

The classification data must be sent over using ALE. It does not get
transported directly. Notes 45951, 86900 and note 365604 should help.
Please follow the instructions in note 45951.
You can obtain more information about how to set-up ALE in the Online
Documentation CD (R/3 Library > CA - Cross Aplication Components >
Business Framework Architecture > ALE Integration Technology > ALE Quick
start).
However, if you can't set-up ALE, you can re-create the classification
data agin in your target system. For that you have to:
1- assign new values to the characteristic master data (t-code CT02)
2- assign the new data to the classification system (t-code CL30)
3- verify the consistency with t-code CL24. Please see note 186809.
For more information, please see note 365604.
The transport of release procedure customizing data can only be done
in a restricted manner. Please take a look at attached Note 86900 and
follow the procedure described in this note, in order to correctly
transport your release strategies.
Classification data can only be transported via ALE as per note 45951.
Note 45951 explains what class data for the release strategy will be
distributed from one system to another. It does not describe how to
implement as this involves a lot of explanation and is truely a
consulting issue.
There is another possibility that you could take into consideration for
the classification is to import them via batch input:
RCCTBI01 for creating characteristics
RCCLBi01 for creating classes
RCCLBI03 for classification

Copy of Material Master charac. values to the batch classif. in GR for PO

Dear gurus,
Could you please help me with the following issue. I have a material managed in batches, and it has a classification type 023 in material master. I fill one chaacteristic of this classification with some value. Now I want this value to be copied to the batch classification during the creation of new batch while making GR to production order.
Is it possible?

What I am understand your requirement is like,
You want to fetch the value of Characteristic maintain in Batch class in Material master to the Batches, correct?
But my Friend if you maintain value of characteristic in Batch Class in material master then it will works as a validation.
For Example,
Suppose your Characteristic is Colour and in Material Master Batch classification view you have maintain value as Red.Then system will not allow you any other colour in Batches.You will find that value in Drop Down list.

Copy batch classification in GR (101)

Dear gurus,
Could you please help me with the following issue.
I have a material managed in batches, and it has a classification type 023 in material master.
Now I want the class (with all characteristics) to be copied to the batch classification during the good reciept (MIGO / 101).
How it's possible?
When i go to the batch generated in migo (101) using T-code MSC2N, there is one icone in Classification-tab "Create classification". and i can do it manually. how can we do this automatically in GR (101).

Check for that movement type in OMJJ in Entry control tab where there is field called classification batch, check what is defined for that movement type.

Customer classification - use class type 011 or copy?

Hi - We have a requirement for some customers to have additional information stored w/them and are planning on using the Classification system.
We have already created and are using one class under class type 011 for a different purpose / different set of data.
I know I can create a new class under existing/standard class type 011; however I am wondering if there is any benefit to creating a new class type, for example, Z11 by copying 011 and creating my new class under type Z11?
I'm asking because I have seen, in the case of material, multiple "Z" class types for further describing materials, each with one class instead of multiple classes under standard class types.

look, before to proceed take into account that class type determines the following:
which object types you can assign to a class
which class maintenance functions you can process
whether you can classify objects in more than one class
which class statuses, organizational areas, and text types are supported in class maintenance functions
whether you can use engineering change management for classification
which filter functions you can use to restrict the search result

Copy the material classification

Hello,
I have already classified the material and now want to use exactly the same classification for our documents. Therefore I would like to copy the material classes and use them as document classes.
Unfortunately this is not possible and I get the following error message:
"Class types 017 and 001 have different object tables".
Is there another possibility to copy our classes?

Hello Markus,
refer to www.im-solution.eu/downloads. There you will find a migration tool which provides migration of complete classifications and characteristics to SAP.
1st step:
download (via SE16) the actual classification & characteristics to the database.
2nd step:
change class type at the database.
3rd step:
export classification from database and upload via SAP standard reports "RCC*".
You use only SAP standard technologies => no development required.

Batch Classification - copy values

Hi,
One of the requirements on the SD side is to print, the Batch class Characteristic values from the Raw MAterial on the Finished good's Invoice. Having performance concerns about reading MB56 for each Invoice line item, I was wondering if there is anyway to copy Batch characteristics values from the RM to the Finished good during Production ORder completion or any such process. All products are Batch managed.
Would appreciate any inputs from you with similar requirements and your solutioning to it.

It is not required that both the materials should have the same characterisitics.
It completely depends on your requirement and development, of what characterisitics to be copied.
If you need the total characteristics of the RM to be copied to FG then you should have the Characterisitcs in common.
What ever the characteristics you want to copy should exist in both the materials.

How to copy characteristic values from Purchase Order to MIGO Goods Receipt

Dear all,
I have a configurable material X,
then i create a purchase order for that material and then i input characteristic value in the Purchase Order transaction and save it
However when i do the Goods Receipt transaction via MIGO and using the Purchase Order number that i have created, after i entry the batch number and want to check the classification, the characteristic value are blank, so it is not copied from the Purchase Order
I've tried guide from

Classification screen in Material Master

Hi Friends,
Can we make classification screen at plant level. Because, I want to maintain Batch Management at 1001 plant and for 1002 plant, I want to maintain split valuation. So if i have created batch in 1001, this data is copying to 1002 plant. So can we make classification screen at plant level?

The classification screen in MM01/MM02/MM03 transaction cannot be made plant specific.
This screen is just there for the general classification at MARA level.
However, it is possible to create plant specific classification via customizing and the standard classification transactions.
But why do you need to have values for valuation type in the classification that is already stored in the in the batch record itself?

Copy of Batch characteristics value from material master to Batch

I have maintained some values in the characteristics under batch classification in material master and want to copy the values in batch characteristics during batch creation at process order release.
Can any one help me to achieve this in standard way?

Hi,
Try to understand the batch classification functionality...In batch classification characteristic values changes from batch to batch...Values should not be maintained in the material master...it does not have any meaning...in the material master we need to assign only the batch class with class type 023 in classification view ...no need to assign the values there....Batch classification means characteristics values differs from batch to batch...

Batch Creation without classification

Hi all,
I have activated batch management for Material A,
When i do MIGO system is asking for Batch i am also entering some Batch say 1023
But i have not gone to MSC1N where we create Batch for particular material.
without creating there, i directly gave some batch 1023 in MIGO screen Batch field system is not throwing any error
just warning is showing, without classification if i create batches is there any issue??
But system is showing those batches in storage location and also in stock overview like Material A 1023 Batch

Shall i follow the path and create new movement type copying from 101 so that the enduser can use that particular movement type for that particular material type, other wise for remaining materials also while doing GR, system will ask for Batches
If suppose i want to return the material can i use 122 or i have to create a new Mvt type copying from 122 to some other for that material type
so that i can get a clear idea that how much received using mvt type which was copied frm 101 and Returned using mvt type copied frm 122.

IC WebClient_Field Classification in service ticket

Hello,
We're implementing CRM 4.0 with the "Interaction Center WebClient" (SAP Portal) and the transaction "service ticket" (we use for transaction type TSRV as a basis, and copied it in ZSRV). In the portal header data of our "service ticket", there is a field "Classification", which we would like to customize with values.
=> Problem: we cannot find any corresponding entry in the CRM IMG Customizing for this filed "Classification".
Does someone have an idea?

for classigication fileds you need to use category modler pcui based application from transaction code crmc_pcuitools and select
CRMM_ERM_CAT as option and click on executre button
then you will find the pcui based category modler view select new button and define the new schema there by selecting the node and subnodes in it assign the codes from subject profile for each label define labels for each node assignthe subject profile under the application area of schema and select the future date and time to activate the schema and release the schema set time 10 min future date andtime and go back to crm_ic transaction open the service ticket transaction u will see the dropdown values at 4 levels appear there
